Hi guys! Good day, I will be traveling soon and I got a discounted flight from Benin republic to Germany (I will be saving 200K plus) Hence I decide to travel via benin. Can nairalanders please tell me experiences traveling from Lagos to Benin republic? I will gladly appreciate!!!!

I am just seeing your mention on the Ghana to Nigeria by road thread. If you are a first time traveler on that route, I will advice you go to Cotonou with a transport coy.
I can recommend Guo motors and GIG motors cos of the way they handle passport stamping at the borders and since you have an EU visa sticker in your passport, those evil and satanic Nigeria immigration guys will surely milk you of as much cash as they can extort from you if you make the trip entering public bus and crossing Seme by foot.
The driver will go stamp your passport for you, though you will be charged extra 5k-10k apart from the fare if your passport is virgin. But you won't be stressed compare to if you go to the immigration booths all by yourself.

Please could you explain further what you meant by stamping of passport at Togo - Benin border is based on smartness.
Do one have to for stamping of passports at these borders?
At the time I made that post, the Togolese and Benin immigrations charge passport holders depending on nationality and travel experience of the holder of the passport. i.e, if its a virgin Nigerian passport, the price is higher and your negotiating skills determine the amount you will pay. If the passport already have visas and point of entry stamps from the EU or UK and North America, price will be less cos they know the holder isn't a mugu so their stamp is just decoration in his is passport. I don't know if that is still the situation atm.

I have benefited alot from the little conversation I had with him in this platform
I was only asking for cost estimation

I Just complicated my NYSC
And With my experience I can estimate cost of living in Lagos Abuja Ibadan for one year service period

I don't know if you understand what I mean

Your defense isn't sitting well Bro.... You can't use your experience as a youth corper to estimate cost of living in Lagos, Abuja and Ibadan as you claim because living expenses are relative!
How do you expect me for example to give you estimate cost of living with school fees in Malmo University just cos I live here?
Do you realise tuition fees differ depending on the course of study?
Do you know that individual lifestyle differ ?
The man mentioned Germany, Poland, and the Nordics before adding Baltic states to the options and you expect him to give you an estimate of tuition and living cost in each of them?
Bro, you have access to internet and he has given you pointers, get to work and do a comprehensive research to know which country suits your budget. CHEERS

baltic countries is it easy to get work therew while schooling and how about there undergraduate program
If you are into Tech or Health related fields, there are jobs especially in Estonia and Latvia. There are survival jobs too cos of the nomad visa they are issuing lately, lots of remote workers are partially residing in the Baltic states and services are needed to be provided. Lithuania isn't bad too.... It all depends on the individual's ability to adapt and make things happen.

gentlebullet spoke my mind. Learn to research things yourself. I don't know the answer to your questions, and if I want to know, I'll just Google it. Something you can also do. This is why agent are scamming lots of people in Nigeria. The lack of relying on themselves and expecting someone else to do the research for them.

Living outside Nigeria especially in the west is a true test of independence. You must know how to research and do things yourself, and if you have to ask me for something as basic as googling for schools and their fees, then how would you handle far more complicated stuff upfront? This is not a bash, it just have to be said.
My Brother, I wonder how some lots can cope in the west when I read the kind of questions they ask on nairaland. It is well
If you ever have any reason to be in Malmo, Sweden..... Pls feel free to PM me let me host you.

Thanks Alot bro

Bt pls I'm still curious like how much do I need In total
Plus what is the minimum range of school fees

Are you deliberately asking these questions to engage or troll the guy? How will he possibly know cost of school fees and total cost of traveling when he is not the school administration?
He has given you pointers, you have internet.... Start your research bro!

Travel / Re: Please I Need Advice. Accra Or Cotonou by gentlebullet(m): 3:36pm On Jan 23, 2022
Msnbcny:
I have #500,000 with me. Meanwhile My work needs steady electricity. Staying in Nigeria have really exhausted me, I always buy fuel everyday.

I have two countries on my mind. Travelling to Accra or Cotonou.

Please I need urgent advice. Does it worth it.
Sorry for my grammar.

What make you think 500k is a lot of money enough to relocate to Cotonou or Accra? The Naira has lost its value so much.
1. The cost of transportation from Lagos to either of the two cities has triple cos of border closure due to covid out break.
2. Accommodation in both cities have increased in recent times due to the economic impact of covid.
3. Before you can rent an apartment in both cities, you will have to acquire a RP, this wasn't the case few years back but cos the present Nigerian govt have failed in its diplomatic duties for its citizens residents in those countries, the hosts are now more hostile and strict about undocumented Nigerians in their country. Moreover, applying for a RP will eat into your already little budget.
4. Both cities have constant electricity supply but very expensive.
5. Cost of living particularly in Accra is far more than that of Lagos so be prepared.

My advice: if you must relocate, up your budget to at least 1.5million to avoid getting stranded or been arrested for illegal stay in especially Accra.

Lol what the fvck is this thing saying. You're real blockheaded lol, Nigeria is still behind us and we won 40 years ago lol catch up lol. And we know our team is weak but with our weak team we'll still qualify for afcon. Nigeria has been to the world cup six times yet you haven't make any impact in the world cup lol
Typical of an average Ghanaian, you are quick to insult during bants and constructive conversations.... Keep living in illusion

Yes since we were comparing the better teams between Ghana and Nigeria then of course I need draw ur attention to the fact that we’ve been to the quarters of the World Cup and u’ve not despite ur so called superiority and more World Cup appearances.
You see the inferiority complex issue now? Nobody is comparing, we are pointing out mistakes and lapses of the team and instead to admit that black stars need to adjust and make head ways, you guys are coming defensive and start making comparison. Why is every thing competition to average Ghanaians?

We won it 40 and you guys won it 7 years, the reality is Nigeria is behind us that's the reality boy lol. It's fact face it.
I am very sure you are one of sm fans, your head die rough! 2013 is not the first time Nigeria won the AFCON. It was the third time and last time. Ghana last won in 1982 and Nigeria have won it two time after that 1982. Nigeria won it in 1994 and then 2013. So black stars needs to buckle up.

Charlie, hate only blinds you. Nigeria last won the AFCON in 2013. Ghana last won in 1982. You should come back and talk when blackstars win its next AFCON. Inferiority complex is Ghanaians' major problem!!!

I am always very thankful to God for my wife cos all three pregnancies didn't come with spitting, vomiting, etc.
We had our 1st and 2nd kids back then in Ghana, her only craving was a snack called kelewele (it's like dodo but the plantain is chopped very small and spiced with blended ginger, garlic and other spices before frying). And she eats it almost every evening, na so I dey queue for kelewele joint every evening after work...
But our last child who was conceived during covid lockdown,no crave for anything cos corona dey kill people anyhow here and kelewele isn't available here but she ate lots of peppered fish. I turn to mai suya during winter cos na that time she chop grilled peppered fish like kilode.
Women are wonderful creatures of God (the good ones though)

Lol.... How do you expect a man who has no control over his own household protect the lives of over 150million citizen? Mr president is a huge disgrace to the "General" rank!
I was in Nigeria late last year and after my assignment in Abuja, I visited my paternal extended family members at Atan-Ota area on your way to owode in ogun state. One of my second cousins who is a diehard BMC was mad at me for expressing my view about the security situation in the country at that time, he even decide to stay back at his farm in alapoti the next day just so he won't be home when I am leaving for Lagos in the evening.
Just last week, he was spamming my whatsapp with texts and pics of the destruction fulani herdsmen invoked on his crop farm.... When I called him over the weekend, baba don dey get sense small small grin grin.... I told him this is just the beginning. The party food sai baba dey serve go touch everybody either you be apc, pdp, ccc, bcd, or Yoruba, hausa, ebira.
