@barbie, how prepartion? since u're looking at 100 people then u would definitely not need a venue because it would be a waste of money. u can have the reception in your compound or that of a family member as someone suggested. also u might need to plan for 150/200 people cos a lot of people u dint even invite always turn up. as per the food as well, just get people that help to cook(we call them olopo in my place), it will definitely cut cost as well instead of getting a caterer. as for your gown/accessories, try benkol or other bridal shops @ tejuosho market. also, check magazines like wedding planner and others for ideas and contacts. u can try tripple bee party concepts on 08023020722 for your cake/decor, she makes very nice cakes and you can bargain with her very well once you tell her the amount you have. also check out www.nigerianweddings.net well, i hope i have been of help. good luck. |
T-Bag:@ tbag, i quite agree with u, NBL should have at least cancelled this year's ultimate search. For God's sake, we're talking about someone's life here! how do you think the family will feel watching ultimate search and knowing their tony could have been there. It takes time to heal. and what of his other colleagues? how would they feel too knowing tony could have been part of them? I was really looking forward to ultimate search before the incident happened but i felt bad after the death of tony(i don't even know him o) and i assumed there will be no ultimate search this year. well, as they have started what can we do? I strongly feel its not right sha. Well it was inevitable, should they now stop the show forever because one guy that couldnt avoid death got himself killed?@joycexz, what do u mean the guy got himself killed? i'm sure you won't be talking like this if he were related to you. ![]() |

niceuzor:not right in the sight of God? haba, its not that bad! |
@saddam ok, but why not tell us all? |
VOR:i agree with u,my husband and i too used to work in the same place and i must confess that i did get jealous sometimes when he's in the midst of our female colleagues. i also used to feel somehow when they yab him, these are things that i'd have laughed at as normal colleagues o. really, its not the best, it causes unnecessary headache cause you start worrying over what ordinarily you wont worry about. |

opal4real:good talk opal. frankiriri:@ frank, you never know what you can do until you are in that position. |
LoverBwoy:look, these people were desperate! i'm not trying to make an excuse for them but i can assure you that a fire disaster was the last thing on their mind. i still stand on the fact that if there was no scarcity, this wouldn't have happened. even if there was a burst pipeline, people would not have rushed there like they did because really, of what benefit is it to them when there is fuel in the filling stations? now look at what ajonuma is saying; As at the last count, between 200 and 250 people have died in the disaster,” the NNPC spokesman, Dr. Levi Ajuonuma, said in a television interview. He described the victims as ”criminals” who vandalised pipelines to steal petrol and sell it. Ajuonuma said the police had been directed to hunt out those who tampered with the oil pipeline that caused the deadly explosion. “The police are after them. They will be smoked out and prosecuted. Our security agents are advised to protect oil pipelines and other national properties and installations from vandals and criminals who steal petrol to sell,” he said. [color=#000099]http://www.punchontheweb.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art200612285333454 i can't believe someone will open his mouth to say this, are they going to be prosecuted there in the hospital abi is the court running away that they can't wait for them to get well, if at all they do? this whole thing just stinks ![]() |
LoverBwoy:fine, if the pipelines were not vandalized, there wont be scarcity and fine, its not a days job but they should have seen it coming knowing how festive periods are and should have made adequate provision for enough supplies! and they had better find a way of protecting the pipelines so that they dont keep getting vandalized ![]() i really can't wait for another goverment to take over as if that would help ![]() |
@shockreaction, good question. Livi Ajonuma, the GM, Public Affairs of NNPC claimed yesterday that some other pipelines had been vandalized and were being repaired throughout last week and that was why fuel was scarce. I blame NNPC and i blame the people as well but the truth is if there had been no fuel scarcity, this whole thing would not have happened! If nnpc knew they would be carrying out repairs on some pipelines, why didnt they make enough provision to store adequate supplies knowing there would be much vehicular activity because of the festive period? Residents in the area claimed that two tankers loaded fuel at the burst pipeline with police officials and that nnpc was informed of the burst pipeline before it caught fire but they said there was nothing they could do? from http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2006/dec/27/national-27-12-2006-01.htm "The Group Managing Director, the NNPC, Funsho Kukpolokun, who arrived the scene at about 1p.m, admitted that NNPC had received complaints from the area but added that it was not the duty of NNPC to protect pipelines. Saying that it was the duty of the police to protect pipeline, he said that the police were obviously overwhelmed by other security issues. He insisted that pipeline protection should be a collective effort by all Nigerians." http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=66655 Its such a pity, this nigeria that we are living in. |
ajolayo:@ ajolayo, thanks. the twitching actually got worse, almost every 5 mins so i had to go see an optician. it all came down to stress as u mentioned before, she said the eye was being overworked ![]() anyway, she did some tests and suggested i start wearing glasses again ![]() another question pls, how often shpuld one deworm and what are the consequences if one doesn't? thanks. |
umm, , thanks doc. i was getting worried because of the frequency but it has ceased. what really causes it though? thanks. |
