@ jummy, there's a shop just beside union bank sports club on bode thomas rd surulere, they have nice maternity wears, check them out. |
It is well, I read the story in Punch last week or so. My prayer is that God will touch the heart of people or even someone to donate the remaining money needed so that he can get the necessary medical attention needed asap. I forwarded this to all my contacts and I hope they will all donate even as I contribute my own widow's mite. |
@ adbabe, try ewe flower. you bathe him/her with it and also give small to drink. you'll get the ewe flower from those elewe omo(those that sell herbs) |
umm, let every intending mother beware o, u'll have to do it at one point or the other if ur baby has catarrh. I use to say I couldn't do it but when my mum left and my husby was not around, I just had to do it! I almost threw up though but then the feeling passed and today, its no big deal for me at all. so long the baby has catarrh and cannot blow his/her nose, u've got to do it! |
@ rhodacious, very funny as per the pooh part. wish you a safe delivery! I didn't have any spitting or vomitting bouts when pregnant, I only hated the smell of food and was always tired and sleepy in the 1st trimester but after that, I was always up and about. Infact I was always going shopping and my husby used to complain i was walking around too much! I had to cut my waka waka sha in the last two weeks before I put to bed as my legs were swollen. when my EDD passed and there was nothing, I was given castor oil which made me stool anyhow! I took it on a monday and by wednesday morning, the contractions started though they were not regular.when I saw "show"(mucus&blood), I called a nurse in the clinic and she said I should come over so off I went with hubby(thank God he was on leave then). my contractions were still not regular and by thursday morning when the consultant doctor checked me (my water broke then)he said i had to do a CS as the baby was already tired and they couldn't pick the heartbeat. i broke down crying but the doc encouraged me and assured me it was best for the baby. so i signed the papers myself (hubby had already left to freshen up) and phew! we were off to the theatre. i was afraid but the doctors calmed me down and told me it would be all over in 30mins. they gave me an injection at the back and my lower body went numb, i was conscious throughout and could see and hear them. i watched as ayokunumi came into the world and my heart was indeed full of joy! the pains after were much but each time i looked into ayokunumi's eyes, i would forget the pain and thank the Lord who saw me through! |
whew! i actually thought the post was a link to getting a househelp! anyway, @ poster and others who object to daycare/househelp, it is a necessity as someone said earlier for a working mother! right now, i'm looking for a househelp. i normally take my baby to work, drop her at a daycare centre then pick her up after work and i must say the stress is really much coupled with everyday holdup in lagos. if one has a family member around sha, i think its better. i always leave my baby at home anytime my sister is around. all in all, a working mother( as in 8-5 or 9-5 ooo)needs someone to help out. ![]() |
if we're talking about people then lagos cannot be decongested but talking about traffic, other means of transportation should be explored and the existing ones be maintained. as someone said, the rail system should be upgraded and maintained, also ferry services should be improved on as well.like from apapa to marina now, just two rickety ferries operate and there are always people waiting to board them. let the goverment make available more ferries or make private people come in to manage it and open up more routes like epe to marina, ikorodu to marina and others like that. if there are good alternative means of transportation then the roads will be free of traffic. speaking of traffic, let everyone that has business in apapa be prepared for traffic as LASG is set to close the apapa-oshodi expressway by next week. check out http://www.tribune.com.ng/16102008/news/news1.html for more details. |

hi docs, my baby(3mnths plus) has had cough and catarr for almost a month now. i have taken her to hospital but what they keep giving us is cough syrup and vit c but the cough still persists, it normally comes after feeding and in the night as well. other mothers and elderly people around me say she's teething but i'm really getting worried. please advise, thanks. |
