HomeOfMe: Are you an insider,if not then you do not know. NDA is mainly for the north. We ha a family friend who got into the academy in the 90s,we use to call him uncle Gbolahan. He told us a couple of things we know about it. If you do not have connections in the armed forces, govt or know wealthy men at the corridors of power, you cannot get it. Northerner are given priority, followed by south-westerners,middle-beltans before even considering south-south and south-east. Why wonth they feel marginalized. Yes I am an insider and passed through the system, and I still stand with what I said that niggas make it to the NDA with no connections. I know an ibo guy who almost made it to the final stage of admission but was disqualified due to tattoo, next thing he started telling people that he was disqualified cos he is ibo. |

Neoteny: Any order that goes against the Nuremberg Principle is an illegal order, else the Nazis would not have been hanged.
Violation of fundamental human rights is not excused by any military policies.
A non-combatant or a combatant who surrenders is protected by international law and the common rules of engagement. like someone rightly asked, who tried the Americans for the war crimes perpetrated? or are we to believe that they stuck all through to the rules of engagement? Had Sgt Rogers rejected that order then, he would have been six feet down and nothing would have happened. How many of such violations of human rights and military rules of engagement in Nigeria have been tried ranging from the Asaba massacre, odi massacre, even the execution of some military operations in Nigeria, and so many of them. Disobey a millitary order and get your ass court marshalled. |
Politics › Re: Meet Sergeant Rogers, Abacha's Hit Man Involved In Kudirat Abiola Assassination by Gentlesniper(m): 11:08am On Jun 12, 2018 |
Neoteny: There is no military where illegal orders are to be blindly followed. Even the military has rules of engagement which are a sort of codified ethics.
In Nuremberg so many Nazis tried to walk that path, known as 'the Nuremberg defense', but they quickly found out their folly.
The Nuremberg Principle IV states:
"The fact that a person acted pursuant to order of his Government or of a superior does not relieve him from responsibility under international law, provided a moral choice was in fact possible to him."
This is what nailed Dostler. Depends on what you mean by Illegal orders. The case of Sgt Rogers is not an illegal order as far as the power in command then was concerned, but you might call it a morally unjustified one. Sgt Rogers only followed orders |

Gentlesniper: Good Day Nlanders and Romancelanders, this is my first thread on this forum and i seriously need your candid advice pIease.
I met this wonderful ibo girl in Enugu about 4 years ago when i was still at the 82 division, Enugu(NB: I am a northerner geographically but spent most of my growing up in the south, especially Lagos cos my dad served more in the southern Nigeria). I became friend with this babe and one thing led to another and we started dating, then she was still a student. we dated for like 6 mnths before I was later deployed to the north. Though we communicated on phone and social media but gradually we lost touch. I met other ladies but to me none was as good and homely like this ibo girl, so i had to resuscitate the relationship and worked her nysc posting to Abuja and coincidentally i was also deployed to Abuja last yr, so we became serious again.
Now she just finished her service last dec. and has gone back to Enugu , we really want to take our relationship to the next level but the wahala here is that she is a catholic and her parents are staunch ones. I have no issue marrying a catholic neither do my parents, but she said her parents would prefer she marries a catholic and gets wedded in a catholic church, but she doesn't care since she is the one in love and not her parents. Also she stylishly told me that she would still like to continue a catholic even after marriage but she would be coming to my church occasionally.( My parents attend ECWA but i attend living faith).
Now, i believe she can sort out the issue of whom to marry with her parents but my worries are: will it be a good idea that i attend a different church from my wife? what will be its influence on the kids or should i insist she must attend the same church with me and expect the worst from her? Please brothers and sisters, I need your honest advice here. thanks

its either the young man is looking for cheap attention or he is looking for trouble. Nigerian police men are the worst set of people to deal with. I remember sometime ago when me and 2 of my mates escaped from school just to attend a party in lag. On our way home after the party, na so armed policemen hijacked us and took us to there station which was the worst mistake we did. Like play play, this guys termed us robbery suspects even after displaying our identity cards as cadets. they asked us to pay a large sum and even threatened to tell d whole world that we are armed robbers if we dont pay. Infact they were even ready to snap us pictures with guns on our front if we dont comply. we had like 20k den in our pockets then and begged them to accept it which they did, and even escorted us up to somewhere safe. They were very lucky that it was an illegal movement by us, if not them for regret their lives. |

Apina: As a Catholic, I definitely understand where she's coming from. Marriage isn't just about I love you, understanding and trust is also vital for its survival. She has told you what it's gonna be after marriage, if you have any objection, say it now not that you would keep quiet and want to impose yourself after marriage, which might bring about avoidable issues. I'm almost certain that she going to your church isn't likely to happen and mind you, it isn't because her parents are staunch Catholics but bros i dont understand, ain't we all serving the same God? At least i was thinking in this time and century, that we have passed that stage where issues like this should pose as a stumbling block to marriages. I am yet to hear Muslims have such issues, and pardon me, but why is it very common with Catholics. |

This isn't Christian/Muslim marriage sef which some people do but same religion only a matter of different sect. Submissiveness starts here. What's the essence of wedding in your church if she will return to her mother's church? As a woman, her place is beside her husband biko.
But then, it doesn't really matter as long as it's a living church (bible beliving). Let her continue with the one she want. As long as ur children will be trained in the fear and ways of the Lord. tnx alot anty, quite encouraging. I am even surprise that going inter tribal isn't even the issue here but church. |

When police arrest u and u don't pay bail they will just use to exchange for a criminal and say u are a crime boss. bros, knowledge is power and these idiots know that majority of Nigerians dont know their rights. A friend of mine was unlawfully arrested by the police, when we got to the station to bail him, we were asked to drop a certain amount of cash. I told the guy that bail is free but i will pay the cash only on the condition that he gives me a receipt of payment, the guy wan begin make noise but immediately i displayed my ID, come see as them begin stammer come dey beg join. My point is that whenever you are unlawfully arrested and asked to pay for bail, let your pple go with a lawyer who has sense and balls, then ask the police to give a receipt of payment for bail and watch as them go calm down like ice water.
