Hello house
Please I need ur advise in the form where they ask for travel history I mad a mistake, instead of writing to days visit to USA I wrote 3 weeks.will this be an issue ?
If you haven’t gone for biometrics yet, you can write in your cover letter to explain the mistake made while filling the form and show price of stamp in and out of the said visit. I know someone who had submitted her application but was booked for assisted service for biometrics. Her hotel canceled her booking after she had submitted but i advice her to write a cover letter explaining this and to submit the new hotel booking made. I don’t know if that helped but she was given the visa

Good morning Gurus in the house please I need you advice my appointment is on 28 of August for a first time application to enter the Uk my bank statement is just 3 million Naira inflow and my closing balance is 400,000 but I have like 1.5 million crypto currency I want to sell and push the money into my account hope know problem with that please help a brother
I won’t advice you sell your crypto and push the funds into your account now that your appointment is really close. You would have done this months to your application. It will raise suspicion and may dent your chances.

Please how long does standard Visitor's VISA take these days.
I'm planning to leave exactly 8 weeks between my biometric and my exam date in November. Please...Will this be enough out in this period?

How many weeks is the earliest in this period for first time applicant?
It’s best to apply atleast 3 months to the date you intend to travel. This will put less pressure on everyone.

That’s like 12 weeks just to be on the safe side though we have seen people on here with application of more than 12 weeks and still counting.

the date of applying and date of submitting, which one are they using to start counting, because i only started my application on the 5th August but i have not submitted my application.
Most likely the date your biometrics was captured.

Hi guys, is there another way to pay for the USD visa fees apart from using a dollar card? has anyone tried virtual card? did it work? if yes, which one? thanks a lot.
For my application, I used the GTB Naira card and I’m sure barter virtual cards work. Only difference is that the exchange rate equivalent for virtual cards are higher

Just decided to give an update on my previous post.

I received a mail from TLS now that my passport is ready for collection. I have checked my inbox and spam to see if there is any prior mail that i skipped but there is none.

My biometrics was done in Ikeja, Lagos on the 7th of June 2022.

I don’t know what is there yet but I intend to go get my passport tomorrow and update the house on the outcome.
Goodmorning all,

An update on my last post.

6months standard visitor visa

Biometrics was done 7th June 2022

Got to UKVI 12th June 2022

Wanted to send a paid mail about 7 weeks after biometrics but card failed and I just lost zeal in sending. Eventhough I was frustrated but I kept my cool cos I don’t really have any need for the passport for now.

Got a collection mail from TLS on 4th August 2022
Got passport with visitor visa on 5th August 2022.

Visa starts from September 2022 probably because my intended date of travel is September.

I have two travel history which is UAE and Ghana.

Prior to this application, I have three visa refusals which were all declared. One for USA in 2018, UK 2016 and UK 2021. All were handled by agents however, I did this one myself with the help of members of this forum. Cos I remember whenever I had any challenge, I dashed here to ask and got answers.

Documents submitted,
Letter of introduction from employer
Work id
Payslips 6months
My certifications earned
My travel history stamps
Reference letters with statements of account from PiggyVest, naira and dom account.
Self introductory letter
Additional information letter (where I detailed everything which includes my work, ties, detailed financial inflow and outflow analysis of significant funds)
Property document.
Membership certificate
Leave approval
Hotel booking

My take home from this is that, we should all try to fill the forms ourselves and not contract it to any agent cos only you can explain your situation better.

Also, there is no such thing as too much information. I explained every single thing and actually put myself in the VO’s shoe cos I figured most of them won’t call to clarify and will most likely make a decision based on what we submitted so I addressed everything I felt might need clarification with proof.

Also I addressed my previous refusal which was the most recent that talked about inconsistencies in my salary (when multiplied by 12) which doesn’t correspond to what my company gave as annual. Noticed it was due to the fact that the agent didn’t declare I had additional income which were my allowances. Company added allowances and salary but VO only summed up salary and it didn’t match up to the annual. This, I declared in the form and did a breakdown while addressing it.
The other reason for refusal was that I had unexplainable lump sum in my account, I also made sure my account was clean and any money in there could be explained.

I hope this will be useful to someone else out there.

Thanks to everyone on this group for the good work and I will still be around as I intend to do two years after this.

So feel free to ask questions and I will answer to the best of my ability.

The best thing to do is to also contract the VAC services to another agency such that it won’t be only TLS. It’s obvious that there might not be an end in sight in the delay of passport sadly.

I am also a fresh UK applicant caught in the wait time even when I did my biometrics since June 7th 2022. Received at DMC about 4 to 5 days after and till date, it’s still at DMC. I tried sometime last week to send a paid mail but it didn’t accept my GTBank naira card nor my Firstbank Dom card. So I just gave up on that. However, a colleague did her biometrics like a week after mine and she has her passport and visa with her already. Although that was a renewal (2 years) from her previous 6months Visa.

The number of people applying for the UK visa (either visit or study) is alarming. I am sure they have not experienced this kind of surge before.
My sister was at TLS Ikeja yesterday with her family (family of 5). Her appointment was for 12 noon. She didn't get in till 3:30pm.
Guess what guys, she didn't leave there till 10pm, that was when she eventually captured and had to beg to get captured because she had 3 kids with her. The youngest in 2years. She said a lot of people were still there when she was leaving.

I gave TLS a review yesterday and i really hope the look into it (they sent a link to share my experience after my application). This is the worst i have experienced in years since i started applying for UK visas. Its either they employ more hands to speed up the biometrics capture or put a hold for a few weeks and work on clearing the backlog. How do you hold someone's passport for 11 weeks? They just keep collecting money with poor service.

Hi, can you confirm if the GTBank $200 limit is still feasible? My card was declined this morning. I used a GTBank card on the 1st and 2end and max out the $200. It worked then, but I’m thinking they’ve revert back to the $20
Really? I also used a GTBank card to pay the Visa fee and it went with ease. I think we should also get opinion from other people that have tried it recently

how did you know this? Gt didn’t send any email to notify customers. Is it just GTBank or other banks have increased their naira card foreign spending limit? I’ve tried the GTBank own and it worked. You seem to be well informed - thanks

You may get a barter (flutterwave) virtual dollar card. Watch youtube videos on how to set it up. It's quite simple and works effortlessly.
Thanks for this. I’m on it right away and am I to link it to my multi currency card or with my naira master card?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by geolan(m): 6:19am On Jun 01, 2022
@giselle237 and any other person can weigh in on this.

Please I’m stuck at the payment stage

I have used my first bank visa dollar card, first bank naira master card and even used someone’s Polaris naira master card cos he claimed to use it for payment of visa fees but all didn’t work.

For my visa dollar card, it said I was meant to receive a dynamic password which I waited for but it never came and I tried severally for the token to drop but every trial expires after 9mins.

My naira master card sent me the otp but it didn’t go through maybe due to the CBN limit on naira cards.

This other Polaris naira master card was refused as well.

Please what to do from here

Any help on this

Hello everyone and trust we are having a god day?

I am at the point of making payment for visa fee and i am having challenges receiving the dynamic password/ OTP on my phone.

I am using a first bank multi currency card. Could it be network issues or they do not accept first bank dom card?

Also, at what point do i get to upload my documents?

Try to limit your expenses to two months of your disposable income. i.e. If you earn 420k monthly and spend 50k out of it, your disposable income will be 370k. Two months of it will be 740k. Hence I'd advise you limit your budget to a maximum of 800k.

Spending 1m for a 5day trip would raise concerns for the ECO.

FLIGHT 420K
HOTEL 150K
LIVING COST 150K
Total:- 720k
Thanks for this and judging with 150k for 5 days, does that mean hotel bills will be 30k a day which is about 60 usd a day?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by geolan(m): 3:51pm On May 24, 2022
And what does it mean where they asked

Total amount of money that you get in a year.

Do I need to calculate the money I save on a yearly basis and add the bonus and allowances or what?

Thanks for the responses so far. It’s highly appreciated

Too much. N1M maximum. You can actually spend about N800,000 - if you have free accomodation. Your ticket will take the bulk - about N420,000 depending on the airline and the period.
If I put 1m

Ticket takes 420k
Hotel can take 300k
Then shopping and tours will take less than 200k for the 5 days?

If it's only you traveling, reduce your budget.... Also how much do you earn on a monthly basis??
Yea, it’s just me and I earn about 350k monthly but if we add other bonus I get, it’s about 420k monthly. So what budget is advisable and yea, bulk will go on flight then hotel accommodation for 5 days then little tour and personal shopping

Yes you can scan and upload all the current and expired visas to show your travel history

You should be able to use the Naira Debit Master card
Thank You very much for always answering my questions.

I have another one as usual

Though i have not gotten to the final submission stage as i am still trying to perfect my supporting documents and see that the form is filled appropriately.

Just as the self introduction letter, i was told that i need to also write a cover letter saying more about the additional explanation and breaking down any huge or unexplained lump sum in my bank statement with explanation.

So my question is that, am i to address this cover to the VO or i can just write it without addressing it to the VO.

Flight booking is not necessary or required but evidence of accommodation is necessary. You can book for a hotel with a free cancellation option
Ok thanks very much for the response.

Again, I will like to know if it is also necessary to scan and upload the visas on your old international passport since you filled about it in the immigration history and you won’t be submitting that passport cos its expired?

Also, for payment, does the platform seamlessly allow our naira debit Mastercard from our local banks or there is a designated debit card for such applications?
