My guru's in the house, good evening. Please as regards my mum I mentioned earlier, as I want her to come in visit in June. Applying in May is it late? or when earliest can I apply for her. Thanks in advance.
June is just around the corner, you can start the application now then you take your time to peruse it. Go through your supporting documents to be sure you have everything ready to avoid mistakes Before submitting maybe May. Better that starting in May and rushing to complete it in May.

Hi Giselle,

Yes I see that. At least £2k from my 4k was for flight and accommodation. Would they rather I spent less? Most of my money lodgement was from my organization. All monies had a sender name on the acct statement. I specifically mentioned on my application that I receive other benefits from my org. They weren’t bulk lodgement. They were paid in over time. Why did they say it was from unknown source? Like I’m confused.
I quite agree with Giselle. The 4k GBP is too much for such a short trip. Even if you will be spending up to that, for application sake, you should have reviewed it downwards. That raised the first red flag.

For the assumed money lodgement, did you write a cover letter explaining in details those bank transactions that could have raised eyebrow aside just mentioning it briefly in your visa application?

These holidays will most likely have an effect on the timeframe for some of our visa applications.

Supposed to stay within the time frame stamped for you by immigration at border entry. Doing otherwise will bring issues in the future.
For UK, they just stamp you in. They don’t assign you a time frame to stay in there. At least from my experience and a few persons that I know.

Yes it happens once in a while like this, you can use the option of assisted service appointments by paying 13k instead of 40k for prime time appointments, but it is not a bad deal too as far as you got ur preferred date.
I always prefer uploading my stuffs myself so I’m sure of what I’m uploading and I’m not in anyway pressured. You get!!

And the prime time won’t be a bad idea if it actually works and I am attended to swiftly. Cos the queue and wait time is always crazy.

You will be attended to swiftly and you wouldn’t join a queue, it is like a business class flight, while others are in the economy class
Thanks for this.

I couldn’t get the regular free time / slot for Thursday until I chose prime time.

Thanks once again.

My people, i have been trying to use my domiciliary Firstbank Visa card to pay my visa fee but it’s not going. Please which app are we using that is going well?
I have been able to bypass this by asking a friend to help me find an account I created when I visited the UK last year. Though I went to the bank to request them to allow me use my don card on all online platforms.

And when I click “no thanks” nothing happens

Now the matter is that

I have been trying to pick a date for Thursday for biometrics but I’m seeing this. I’ve clicked for these severally on 10:14 and 13:45 but either it’s asking me to upgrade to super priority Or asking that I upgrade to prime time. Can’t I pick normal time again for visa appointment? Or what do I need to do

I still fail to understand why it would be deemed a a staged marriage”.
Search yourself on why you are so bothered about age difference, then read up on the sort of visa you want and submit your documents.
There is something he isn’t saying. Cos marrying older women is rampant abroad so I don’t see why the VO will see that as a problem since it’s nothing over there

Hello house,

While filling the UK visa application form for renewal, there is this section for travel history to UK.

I want to know if the date of application is the same as the date

1) I started the application
2) The biometric date
3) Or visa “valid from” date

I have attached the picture for more clearance.

I started the visa process in May, I submitted in June, I got my visa in August and my visa was valid from September.

Good day all,
How many pages should a cover letter be?
My cover letter is 11 pages. Is it okay? or should i remove/delete some things from it?
My proof/source of fund explanation is 8 pages because i needed to explain how money is transferred amongst my 3 bank accounts.
Is it too much?
Kindly advise.
I don’t think it’s too much as long as you explained everything in detail. Nothing as too much information when it comes to visa applications especially for non appearance visas.

Can a first timer tourist arrived at Heathrow airport can use transportation options or only taxi ?

Train, subway and bus is very affordable

Or is it compulsory to use a taxis or bolt?

Reason is that I wanted to know if I can make a use of train, bus or subway so I can have a budget for that in my cover letter.
To use Bolt/Uber, you will need to link your debit card to the app which most likely won’t accept your naija card except it’s a dom card.

Just get an oyster tourist card you can top up then use it to enter train or buses easily cos taxis are expensive

I was advised to put that amount as two people from my church put similar amounts around 3m - 3.5m to spend 7 days in london.
Thank you brother
Let’s hope for the best then. If it comes out well then that’s fine and if otherwise, lessons learnt.

Good afternoon everyone, I’m new on this thread. I did my biometrics Jan 17th yesterday. The documents I submitted are,
CAC (company)
Tax receipts
6months Bank statements Company and personal (2m and 3.6m respectively) i am sponsoring myself, I transferred to my personal account from company account.
Travel budget is 3.6m for 7 days holiday.
For home ties, I submitted my CV, previously employment appointments letters, Voters card and NIN.
Old passport with previous visas
New passport
Birth certificate
Travel date March 10th - 18th

Please for the Gurus here, are my chances good?
Thank you and God bless in advance
3.6m for a 7 days trip is definitely too much. Even too much for a 14 days trip. Whichever ways, I wish you goodluck and God’s favor in your application.

Pls house,

Does UKVI always attach rejection letter to collection email if visa was refused?

Someone said that's what they have been doing in recent times.
For the rejections I’ve seen myself so far, it’s usually attached to the mail sent to the applicant especially for standard visitor applications. However, there might be exemptions.

Goodmorning house, I noticed Ethiopian airline has the cheapest prices on their app but payment through our cards keeps saying error.
And secondly is there a way to view the ticket prices in other currencies should one want to ask someone abroad to pay.

Thanks in anticipation for your reply
Try to get their customer care number on their website. They will give you an account number to pay into. They don’t accept our cards in Nigeria but call their lines and you will sort it out in less than 10mins

UK refusal story

I just got my second visa refusal from UKVI.

The first one was refused with reason of ‘huge unexplainable’ amount (1,050,000) that showed in my statement. This is my house rent which came in and out (same day) of my statement.

Ok.. lesson learnt, no lump sum.

But this second refusal is shocking to me, see reason;
“”You state that you are employed earning 444602.98 NGN per month (£815.7 @ exchange rate £1 = 489.269 NGN). I have carefully considered the documents you have provided in support of your application.
You state you personally intend to spend 800000.00 NGN (£1,467.74) on your trip to the UK. I note that your proposed expenditure far exceeds your monthly disposable income. This degree of expenditure appears disproportionate to your economic circumstances, leading me to doubt your intentions in seeking to visit the UK for the limited period and purpose stated“”

After noting that my husband will be sponsoring the entire trip and including his pay slip and statements which far exceeds my own by many multiples, he has a UK visa already. He’s livid because we both can’t understand this reason.
I also included my payslip, salary account and savings account with above 3.7m (6 months, no lump sum deposited, opening bal 3.1m)

Joor oo.. please house where did I go wrong in this application? I applied for 6 months visa for a 7 day stay (honeymoon). Is spending less than double of your net income a reason for refusal? I checked the Appendix V as the highlighted and it’s not showing anything like that. It’s like this UKVI personnel thinks Naira is as valuable as Pounds
How much should have been appropriate?

Also why wasn’t I refused the first time for that reason even though I stated that I would be spending 1.2m with the same salary.

Kindly advise me for future sake (or learn from me), although I won’t be applying to UK for a long time for my personal sanity.
Do you have any travel history?

Hello great people.

Please can mutual funds statement be used to apply for a visit visa to the UK?

Because of low interest in banks, my major money has been in mutual funds for about 1 year now and I need to apply for visit visa in February. Do I withdraw the mutual funds and credit it into my bank account?
Withdrawing and crediting into your account when you intend applying for February will raise eyebrow. I don’t advise it.

Let’s hear out others on this

Any idea of London transportation cost per day for a tourist?
Whatever anyone is planning, please get a dom card and fund it a little. Even if it’s 200usd cos it’s worthy to not that they run a strict cashless in the UK. Especially if you want to get on buses and all which are cheaper as compared to taxi that accept cash.

Compliments of the season everyone.

I would like to know if one must have a hotel reservation on arrival at the UK.
During visa application, my sister and her family submitted a hotel reservation. The visa came after the expected date so they cancelled the reservation (as advised on this forum).
However, my other sister and her family live in the UK and they have a big enough house.
Do they still have to do a hotel reservation even though they intend staying in my sister's place?
Does my younger sister have to give them any letter to take along in case they are being questioned on arrival at the airport?
PLEASE HELP cos it's different in France where I live.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.
You can explain to them where you would be staying because they will most likely ask. Also, have her details off hand or keep it somewhere plus inform her and let her know when you’re coming just incase they want to call her to confirm.

Let me give you a clue for those who there visas will be granted, after you submit your application, TLS will send an email saying your application has now been transferred to Ukvi for decision making, another email will come from Ukvi that your application is received and been prepared for decisions making, then another email from Ukvi days after that your application is been prepared for consideration if you get emails in this order your application will be granted, but start making sure all your contacts are in order because this is the period they will start calling your company etc

But if you only get one message from TLS and one from UKvi I am sorry you might be refused
Well, I got the first two nails and didn’t get the mail of my application is being prepared for consideration yet I was granted. I feel there is no manual to these things

If you have already received refusal mail on the 24th of August then you can anticipate and book your another appointment around the middle of September I’m sure you would’ve have been able to pick your passport before then
It is not advisable to reapply immediately. Take time out to address the reasons for refusal before reapplying. Don’t seem desperate to them
