BENIN CITY-THE prevailing political tension in the nation as a result of the factionalization of the Nigeria Governors Forum became messier Friday as the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), grounded the chartered helicopter which was meant to convey Governor Adams Oshiomhole to Anambra state for the burial ceremony of the wife of Senator Ben Obi,the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Mrs Collete Obi.
The drama started when the pilot, Captain James Manahash, who was already air-burn with the governor and his entourage was ordered to fly back to the Benin airport five minutes after taking off over what they described as failure to pay aerodrome and landing fee.

The pilot was threatened to fly back or the aircraft will be banned from flying. It was learnt that the governor who observed the argument between the pilot and the NAMA officials, prevailed on the pilot to come back and answer the call so as to sort out the issues raised.

But to the chagrin of the Governor and the pilot, they were delayed for over one hour thirty minutes even after the pilot paid the landing and aerodrome fees. After waiting for such hours a visibly angry Oshiomhole entered his vehicle and zoomed off. Saturday Vanguard later learnt that he headed to his village at Iyamho. He declined comment.

When newsmen met with the pilot, Captain Manahash, he expressed shocked over the incident, asserting that “I have been a pilot for 35 years out of which 7 years in Nigeria. So I was surprised when I was recalled back to the airport after we took off. The Governor prevailed on me to come back and answer them. When we got back I was told to pay landing and aerodrome fee which ordinarily we could pay later.

“Even after completion of the process of payment, we were still delayed for one hour fifteen minutes with the governor still seated in the aircraft. Ordinarily payment of such fees doesn’t take more then ten minutes. This is not the first time I have been flying the governor and we have never witnessed such a disappointment. It is really shocking” he stated.

Yaasir: The issue is beyond whether or not NGF was using election to choose her leader. For as long as they all willingly agreed to go for election and there is no provision to the contrary in it's bye laws the election is valid. The only reasonable option available to the loser is to approach the court to prove his case. Some people are even asking whether the ballot papers were signed. Is it now a requirement for a ballot paper to be signed before election can be valid?

PointB: Most people from across the Niger don't hold thieves, fraudsters, and drug barons, certificate forgers, etc in high regards, especially if they continue to shamelessly press for acceptance in public sphere.

thirty: So social media is the best mechanism to prove your opion about a governor. Even with facts sometime, your opinion may be 'subjective'. Anyway if you doubt the performance of any ACN govts, i can give some of their achievements with pictures base on health, education, security, agriculture, infrastructures etc. Apart from Lagos, Ogun, Edo and osun state are doing good jobs.

arcbabe: Fashola for president come 2015,everybody know that this man is the messiah that will help this country,that is why someone will live delta state and come to lagos for assistance from him. Fashola makes sure he delivers not minding how or where u are from,he has a vision not only for lagos state but nigerian as a whole,if APC bring out fashola as their presidential candidate,they will definately win the election. His party cannot even stop him from making sure he delivers by changing people's life for the better. May God touch his heart so he can accept the yearning of everybody and run for president. Am not an APC supporter but I will definately support fashola all the way...

babyosisi: It is strange for me to believe that a woman that desperate for help would bypass her state governor's office and capital and buys a luxurious bus ticket to Lagos expecting that someone will come out and hand over 200k to her.
She comes and sleeps at an MFM church then heads to Ikeja magistrate court next day to seek money from God knows who

Does Ikeja magistrate court give out money?

I Choose to believe that she has mental issues,that is the only way to explain that behavior
Her relatives had better see this story and get her some help before she removes her clothes to enter Ikeja market
