pauloman: In my opinion,both countries are very good but no one can really decide for you. One person may tell you Canada is better based on his/her subjective reasons while another might pick aussy based on the same subjective reasons as well. To me personally i would pick Canada because of its strategic location,i feel aussy is too far . My choice is based on this an a whole lot of other reasons. I would advice you do some online research on your own and compare and contrast both countries based on the key things you value in your life. This will enable you have vantage points and decide better at the end of the day. Cheers bro !

ancient1: @lincoln: I had this same issue when I lived in the uk and needed that police clearance for some security stuff over there and I couldn't afford to come home at the time. There is a way out, here is what you should do. First u need to have someone get the police clearance form for you from alagbon and scan it to u, both pages. Its a black and white form so u can print it out easily. Now the form has spaces for all of your fingerprints I.e, your 10 fingers and 2 other portions for all of your fingers together both hands. Take the form to any police station wherever you reside in canada and tell them to assist you in taking your fingerprints on that form, tell them its purpose and all that. They have the correct ink for the prints and all that. They will help you in taking down your finger prints and filling the appropriate spaces as they are used to such forms and all that type of protocol. Fill in the other portions of the form, sign and attach a copy of the data page of your international passport, and I think 1 or 2 passport photos. Now post these documents to your contact in naija who will take it to alagbon with 4000 naira. Your police clearance certificate will be ready the following day. Have the person get it and post it to you. #shikena. At least thats what i did.

You have a good result I think u stand a great chance to compet for a research position, however, a Canadian prof gets more than 1k mail per day, there4 u need som strategy to make them read ur mail. 1stly, ur email address (avoid yahoo), preferably an org or company mail. 2ndly, ur subject matters, mak it attractive, d body of ur mail shld shw dt u knw d prof very well and his research interest. Finally, mak ur statemnt of research interest d bomb & difficlt to resist, mak sure its aligned to his. Attach ur cv, transcript & cert. If u did nt hear from hm after 1wk send him a reminder or resend d same mail wt another subject, dnt 4gt to pray dt he reads it. This was my experience (kostenlos).

Joe Btters: Thank you for ur timely response. I don't have a potential supervisor yet. I would really prefer a research based masters program (Msc) to a course based masters program(MEng),in the manufacturing Engineering(Automation n control 2 b exact).
Could u tell me wat steps I should take in getting a supervisor? I heard that its really difficult to get a supervisor, or should I just go for a course based masters program and save myself the stress. bancan: This is the third time I will be writing on this thread without any reply from anyone, I guess this thread has only a group of people or like a cliq,even if no one has an answer to my question at least u guys should show concern, its over 60working days now n I've not heard from cdhc infact all I want now is to get my docs back.I'm tired of d emotional torture of tracking every day,visiting dat should take just 35-45 working days is taking almost 3months now. I want to know if I can visit dem to withdraw my application afterall my husband's convocation dat is my main purpose of visit has being done since june 13th.pls u guys should advice me

@bancan, I suggest you call them and demand to know the status of your application. If the response is that they are still working, tell them that you need your documents for other things since the convocation is past, seek to know when you will likely get their response. It happened to me, I was supposed to go to UK for a job interview, I applied a month to the interview date and did not get response. When the date has past I gave a week gap - no response, so i called them demanding my passport since the interview date is past, but they told me that dey are still working on. I told them they should stop working on it and return my pass that I do not need it. They sent me a withdrawal form and warned that if I sign it that I will not get a refund of the applicatn fee. I signed it and the next 2 days I got my passport with 6 months multiple visa surprisingly. So contact them and talk I prayerfully. I hope for a positive turn out. I do not know what is wrong with them, i blame our govt. u have double genuine reason. But next time apply for reunion visa, use it and visit him. All the best.

@lyfe Congratulations! @all if some1 has an admission for a master's, apply for and got trv, on getting to Canada the fella gets a PhD offer from another University mayb 2-3 months within his/her program, can the fella switch immediately or does the fella need to inform immigration? @CodeBrain congratulations, which ever way u re on the right track.

lillaowow: well, before gettin an acceptance letter, you wld have secured admission. You wld have been informed (either by mail or the school's website login page or both)that your application was accepted. And the info of how to get your acceptance letter wld be mailed to you. Your acceptance letter would contain further instructions about fees and your start date and d likes.

I wrote TOEFL(CBT) June 27 2005, i and i lost my copy of the result to "One Chance" in Abuja with other Original documents. Now a school in Germany is demanding for the copy and deadline is 15th Oct. 2007. How do i get another copy? PleeesE Somebody help!!!!!!!!
