Jesus4all: If your confidence is in man, you have defined your limits! But if the Most High is your God... you have also defined your limits. Here is the truth though, in God, you have no limits; "for happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help..."! It is well with you TODAY!

to the best of my knowledge, YES....it is advisable to enter for sept. admission
cos i read somewhere that the condition on your study permit can be changed in canada

i believe if you can transfer from one school to another in CANADA,you can also change the kind of program you're doing
BUT i think you'll loose money as in the money you payed to the first school[/quote]
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by geotherm: 1:10pm On Sep 04, 2012
@all if a visa is granted for a masters program for Sept. admission and one gets a PhD offer from another schl for January admission, must he enter Canada 1st before changing the visa or change it b4 entering Canada?

lillaowow: you just got a supervisor i suppose, i'm aware part of a research based masters is getting a supervisor (which i'm convinced is applicable for a PHD). So, officially, your outstanding conditions/documents/criteria has just been met.
Give 'em like a week- two weeks (working days), i'll suggest yu mail them a day or two before the end second week.
Having a supervisor, is it a guarantee of funding and admission?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by geotherm: 12:07pm On Aug 29, 2012

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by geotherm: 7:41am On Aug 27, 2012
what department did u get admitted?
lillaowow: about U of Sask.
same happened to me.
Tho i never had problem with them replying my email..infact, if i should mail them this morning, by 2-3pm, they would have replied me
i remembered a time i mailed the admission team, and Five mins later, i got my reply
But they just forgot i've been admitted..infact, they totally forgot about me being admitted, so my admission letter came late for FALL start date

i had to mail them, that was when they remembered i've been admitted around JUNE29
Keep mailing them BUT be gentle with them, those oyinbo ppl are over sensitive with words.
Honestly, they're swift to my own Emails.

I had my medicals on 31st of July-exactly 3 weeks; and submitted requested document on the 10th of August.I think CDHC is reverting too soon.*sigh*

pauloman: What is actually required by people travelling with either temporary or permanent residents coming into to Canada by air is that at the Point of Entry ( POE) at the Canadian border their Border officials will check you and you must declare to them if you are in possession or money exceeding CAD10k otherwise if found out it is a purnishable offence.

Also ,Economic immigrants are expected to carry settlement funds when arriving in Canada which the Canadian Border Officials will check and count to be sure it conforms with the stipulated settlement funds on their website which is ussually more than CAD10k. But i do not think this concerns students on TRV except for the statement on the first paragraph.

For immigrants that i am very sure of,the money could be in cash, travellers cheque, money orders ,drafts but not credit card or debit card
Read d instructn

What if the full year sch fees is abt CAD21,000,(abt 7000CAD/semester, 3 semesters a year) ..... some banks mught not process that large sum without raising a flag or issues....
You can pay for the first semester, its better than not paying at all. I believe since they called u for medical, it means that the money in the account you submitted is sufficient to carry u thru. So just pay for 1st semester, at this stage you cannot be denied visa except on medical grounds or insufficient fund (when u did not pay at all). My own view, others can contribute especially those with trv already.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by geotherm: 9:57pm On Aug 14, 2012
earthgreeners: Yeah I noticed too, but it also depends on the department and the Graduate secretary handling the admission...what course are you applying for?....send ur email, i need to ask some questions
I just sent u an email thru nairaland I dnt want to display my e-mail on dis forum. Its civil and geological engineering dept.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by geotherm: 6:30pm On Aug 14, 2012
