Alliance Français is the TEF approved centre in Nigeria (I'm sure of Lagos and Port-Harcourt). You can Google them to get their contact details for more enquiries as their websites are not up to date.
Thanks

I have been following you guys silently ever since I started encouraging my younger ones to apply and come over. Your suggestions are the "bomb" and always on target. I salute your resilence and sometimes wish my siblings have such tenacious approach to this journey. I guess they will read this thread later because I introduced them to it yesterday. grin

My younger sister knows basic French and I want her to use it as way to boost her scores, she is currently at 439 (based on IELTS max simulation). Does anyone here have info or link on TEF approved centers in Nigeria? I asked Google but not sure of the websites I saw.

Keep pushing guys and all will end in praise.

Thanks a lot. Yes, she is included in the PR application. This is quite frustrating. I am hiring an immigration lawyer from here to help with Spouse Open Work Permit.
I wanted to suggest applying for an open work permit bit I didn't know how far you wish to go. But you will make a good case: family reason like I did when I was applying to come in as students. I applied for study permit and open work permit for my wife same time - though this was 4 years ago. Harper government looks easier than JT's

DrNeoCortex:
Hi guys...I have been on this site before but now there is fire on the mountain...and I really need some help.

I got a study visa to go to Canada in July 2014 and have been in Canada since then. I came to Nigeria in September of 2015 to get married to my wife. I was a student at the time and we applied for a visiting visa for her in December which was rejected on the basis of travel history, personal assets and home ties. I should note here that she has been to the UK before in 2014 but the visa is expired.

I finished school in April 2016 and immediately got a job in May that pay over $100k/annum which is OK for Canada. We reapplied again for a visiting visa on July 13, 2016 and I just got a rejection letter again this morning stating the same reasons but now including employment status. I should note that my wife was employed at the time but she has now resigned her employment. One key document that I included in my second application was my provincial nomination. I was nominated by the province of BC for permanent residency which I have applied for by paper. The second application also included my employment offer letter stating my salary, my bank statement in Canada, my payslips. HEr father's properties in Nigeria e.t.c.

I am confused and very frankly frustrated with these guys at this point. I wonder why they are treating us this way. I need help guys. Is there anything we are missing? I must also say that I was applying for a visiting visa for her with the intention that she will apply for an open work permit when she gets to Canada.

I really need some help here. Thanks guys.
For clarity did you include your wife in the application for Permanent Resident? If you are already processing PR for both of you then you guys require patience. I have a friend who is also processing PR through provincial nominee he has applied visitor's visa 2x and study permit once for his wife and they were all denied. So he resigned to waiting for the outcome of the PR.

If you knew all that then why were you sweating over jayfierce's post? Was that not the whole argument here?
I thought you got my point. I will rephrase it. I am not saying whether he is wrong or right. Yes in this case he might be wrong or he is wrong but my point is before we point out people's wrong let us form the habit of also highlighting their right answers because once you focus on the negative you will place a doubt on the 90% of his answers and focus on the 10% thereby confusing the person who asks the question as to what to believe. In summary commend his 90% and point out the 10% that is wrong and proffer a better solution to the wrong. Don't just shout "it is a lie!" without given the questionaire a better solution.

We learn everyday, the truth is that I am too selfish. Because I visit forums like this only when I have an ongoing application, therefore I respect and commend those of you who are consistently in the habit of helping people out, it is not easy. I reappeared because I helped my younger brother apply for his study permit and as soon as he got it I stopped visiting the other forum. I am currently here because I have an ongoing application for vsiiting visa for my parents and in laws. Therefore I respect you guys and will never pick querrel with anyone of you because you are better off than me in helping out.

If i knew it all where do you think i should be?
You will be working at CIC or IRCC. The truth is that nobody has figured it all out because everyone is treated differently based on their circumstances. But we usually satisfy our conscience by subitting beyound the basic requirements to convince the VO. Forums like this has contributed to my successful applications both study visit and PR but I filter all suggestions. I have been told several times in this forum not to communicate CIC in the course of my application, I did because I had special reason to do so and that even made my application response time faster.

I am not stereotype in my approach especially when it comes to visa application because I see the VOs as human beings that can reason well and make decisions based on what they have. They dont go about witch hunting people, except that you have to first be truthful to yourself then it will be easier to deal with them, because being truthful and genuine makes their work easier.

You are doing exactly what you just accused Jayfierce of doing.

In a public forum like this we have to endeavour to say things as its and not to encourage people to misrepresent facts
Anyone relying on public forum to solve problems should be ready to sit down and consider all suggestions and make decisions. how sure are we who is right and wrong. If you know it all you won't be in this forum

jayfierce:
Are you serious? She should call her boyfriend her fiancé? Are the two the same? What evidence will she present apart from visitation Awelekiti? Is visitation a proof of engagement? Do you think IRCC won't sniff out that misrepresentation?

Sometimes not everyone passes IRCC requirements to go Canada on a visit visa and that's the truth. Let's tell people the truth on this thread please and save their money.

@demidabbs, Even if your sponsor has double Citizenship, he can not deliver you from the scrutiny of IRCC on your home ties. Take your time to prepare yourself and build your ties. DO NOT LIE that he is your fiance please.
@Jayfierce, rather than pick out people's wrong in every answer make your own suggestions, especially when the person took out dedicated time to answer the question. People come to this forum seeking for answer's they get answers from different sources it is left for them to filter and apply the ones they choose. Don't always be on the attacking side or could it be from the name you chose. Just my advise. I have followed your reaction whenever Awelekiti answers question, it looks like you have other problems with him. Please deal with the problem outside the forum. THanks for understanding.

Yes. I'll be able to attend but I prefer the earlier one. Should I inform CIC that I am traveling earlier for a different programme? Also I'll be staying at my bro inlaw's place. In my application, I didn't state where I'll be lodging. Hope I will have no problem at POE.
Since you have your visa it doesn't really matter how you choose to travel. Trying to get permission from CIC is a waste of your time. When you get to boarder, they will ask you about your visit, thenjoy you can give them details including where you want to stay.

He has a green card and it's not the same as being a Passport holder. US green card holders are currently the only ones in that category that can apply for ETA.
Only an Irish Passport holder(citizen) can apply for ETA, and not a green card holder.
Oh I see I thought they meant the same. I am enlightened now.

I wish to apply for Canadian Tourist Visa in next summer 2017. I'm going to spend 2 weeks as a tourist. I have Irish Green Card here in Ireland and i'm married with children. I'm studying but working part time. I have visited the UK twice in 2004 and 2006. However, there is no Canadian embassy here in Ireland. I will be in Nigeria for holiday around that time but i am not sure if the Canadian embassy will accept my application in Nigeria as i have family ties in Ireland and as Ireland is my country of residence?. In addition, i also have landed property in Nigeria & with my old company's cert i registered in 2008 but i've not been running the company. I can also provide my Nigerian accounts wink. If it can be possible to apply in Nigeria during my holiday, after biometric in Nigeria will i also submit my original passport? or can't i send my passport down to Nigeria after my holiday in Nigeria?

Canadian tourist visa experts, over to you please! grin
I don't understand if you have Irish passport why do you need visa to enter Canada. You don't need visa to enter Canada, however due to recent changes effective March, 2016, you need to apply for is eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization). That is if you really have an Irish passport.

Jayfirece kindly advise me. I just renewed my passport cos the previous one is expiring in Dec 2016. Is it necessary to notify IRCC about my passport renewal?
As at the time i submitted my application online, the passport validity was 7 month and Nigeria immigration service only renews for less than 6 months.
I notified them of my inlaw's passport renewal through case specific enquiry and uploaded the scanned copy after 3 days I got a confirmation from Accra that it was received. So go ahead.

oga ur reasoning is backwards or ur simply repeating my sentence for the sake of it..PLEASE don't just read also COMPREHEND before writing. have you personally been in the situation before?NO! I have on my most recent visit. let me explain slowly.. if the duration of an applicants passport is not upto the number of years for the duration of trv requested CIC will ALWAYS in 98percent of cases issue you a letter requesting for a passport renewal except if there is another underlying issue relating with the TRV. why double wahala for something that is quite simple. damn!
@Kisstaye
I will attempt to clarify this once and for all. When requesting for your passport CIC makes a general statement that your visa will not be issued beyond your passport expiry date. The rule-of-thumb for Nigerian passport immigration office is that if your passport has validity of more than 6 months you cannot renew your passport (some peoplemay have succeeded doing that with passport expiry beyond 6 months, I sincerely don't know how they did it). So if your passport is less than 6 months it's advisable to renew it. But if you have a 1 year valid passport CIC will give you 1 year trv. Which can be extended as soon as you extend your passport with Nigerian embassy in Canada. Nigerian embassy in Canada gives students special consideration when renewing your passport you collect it same day in Ottawa. But for others you buy self-addressed courier envelop and receive it within 5 working days. Then renwal of study permit within Canada is less than 14 days everything done online. So no need to panic focustomers on getting your initial trv. Renewal of trv is not compulsory except that you need it in order to re-enter Canada when you travel out of Canada.

My question is dat 9ja immigration officers, would they re new it for me since it hasn't expire?
You cannot renew your passport if you have more 6 months on it. My advice is when you come into Canada you can renew it at the right time and extend your study permit. I have done that before.

THE ADDRESS WHERE IT IS DONE IN LAGOS, Central Criminal Registry Force C.I.D. Annex

ABOUT THE PRICE, WELL IT VARIES. JUST GO THERE WITH NOT LESS THAN 20K TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE
I am hearing this for the first time. When I submitted an application for study permit for my brother in June I did not include police certificate and now he has his trv and tentative study permit.

Hello, my fellow TRV hopeful.. come 27th August 2016 my application will be three months and am yet to be called for medical... My college has sent me mail on orientation and arrival hoping I to welcome me.

Last Friday my room mate contacted me and wishing me a save trip to canada...this really triggered my hopes...has anyone with such issued gotten there TRV within this short time? My college resume 5th of September.

My agency said is asking me to write to Canada immigration through an immigration lawyer..which I have declain to..but now considering using that service...Pls advice me
I had similar experience in 2012 when I got my student visa in September 12 and registration deadline was 15th I boarded flight on the 13th and arrived Sunday, 14th and was able meet the deadline. Although it was tough to catch up with the class. I will advice you to consider writing CIC and also differ your admission to January. Don't be in a hurry especially if you are going for MSc or PhD

@earthgreen, I have never been under this kind of academic pressure before, it is a highly demanding environment full of competition, I don't have choice but to adjust (naija factor). my PhD will offcially commence Jan, 2013 its funded, this means I have to switch schl, becos right now d program I am doing is not funded. The good thing about courses here compared to naija is that it is practical and up to date(current research work, ideas and technology) not archaic. Lecture notes changes every year although methods of teaching remains constant. The negative part is the relative performance part, meaning the percentage of class performance determines the pass and fail for e.g if the average of the class is 70% and you have 60% you fail and most times in our case here the class average is 75-80% meaning there is strong competition with majority of the class always above average. Sometimes sweet sometimes bitter.

You can call these ones good or bad, its up to you: Too many assignments with deadlines (if u fail to meet deadline -5% per day), alot individual and group project, report and presentation, field trips at least 2x per term with follow-up report or is it the lab work that is at least 2x a week with deadlines b4 the nex lab. Well if you are coming here you must be prepared to drop Giration and groooves ( I hav nt seen any, mayb in summer wen I will be wrking to mak mony for winter academic stress), but the hope is that after studies with good grade u have wide range of opportunities to explore. Canada is a very nice place for people who purposely want to succeed. I will end by quoting shakespeare "The heights reached by men were not attained by sudden flight but they, while their companion slept, they toil through the night" therefore hard work backed up by divine grace will get you to that height you want to be. Hard work pays here I don't know about that in Nigeria.

I submitted the following all in photocopy not notorized except my transcripts. Then of course original police certificates. I also submitted it to God(Very important) before sending it to the embassy:
List of additional Documents for Study and Work Permit
1. Application/Introduction Letter
2. Potential Employer Letter
3. B.Sc. and M.Sc. Certificates and Transcripts
4. 4 International Passports
5. 8 Passport Photographs
7. Land Document
8. Share Certificates
9. 4 Birth Certificates
10. Marriage Certificate and registry
12. 2 Statements of Accounts (for Savings and for Utility Bills)
13. Professional Membership Certificates and award
14. National Youth Service Scheme Discharge Certificate
15. Residence Permit
16. WAEC Results
18. 2 Curriculum Vitae (CVs)
19. Lease Agreement for Family Apartment from University of Alberta
20. Evidence of Payment for Study visa, Work Permit and Temporary Residence Visa.

Normally it takes 4 wks here to handle but mine took 7 wks. I applied for Open work permit for my wife and on the 6th week dt was last week i was called to send trv application for my two babies. The land document I submitted (Deed of Gift) was photocopy but i signed it with blue pen since it was scanned to me by my parents. Just do your own part and leave the rest to God.
