In the Bible days, hardly would one see a religious/spiritual leader handing over leadership to a family member. It was only during the era of the kings, that leadership had to do with the king's bloodline, but see how disastrously it ended.

Even king Solomon who was the son of David, a man after God's heart, provoked God to anger at the end, that God divided the kingdom into two, and would have taken it completely from that lineage, but for remembrance of His servant David.

It hardly succeeds because they are not chosen by God, but often forced to become what they're not inclined to be or don't have the attributes required for that.

I have seen several instances where family members, especially the wives and children, of church leaders have been forced to take over their position, even though they didn't have what it requires to do so, but the result reflected that it was the choice of men, not that of God.

If Moses had handed over to his family member instead of God's chosen one, Joshua, Israel would have never reached the promised land.

If Elijah had handed over to his family member instead of God's chosen one, Elisha, the office of the prophet in Israel would have suffered a significant decline.

If Jesus had handed over to His own family members and not those God chose for Him, His disciples, the Gospel of the Kingdom wouldn't have reached us today.

I believe that this example was what worked for the Redeemed Christian Church of God. It was the choice of God appointed to take over from the founder rather than the choice of men and not just family member.

It's not impossible that the family member of a church leader could be chosen by God to take over from him, but that hardly happens.

This is one area the church must needs get it right if it really wants to reach its full potentials, as the church who leaders were chosen by God did, otherwise it would keep chasing shadows, and never be able to do so.

The position of Leadership is the most important in the church. It supersedes any family interest or reputation, hence it's paramount that it's those who are chosen by God that are appointed to lead.

Levi, was the third son of Jacob (now Israel) they are known as the Levites who are the custodians of the ark of the covenant (Priest) of which no other tribe of Israel where Priest apart from the third tribe (descendants of Levi) from father to Son ,up to the days of Moses and Aaron where Aaron and his Son’s where Priests.

My wife and I have been married for 3 years, God has blessed our matrimony with a beautiful daughter. My wife is so decent, caring and beautiful inside out. I have been a great husband and father to my pretty daughter. I have never cheated on my wife since we got married.

Recently, she barely give me sex. Infact it would take a whole month before I could see Just the color of her undies and I wasn't happy about it.

Last week Wednesday, I committed an unspeakable abuse, I'm so ashamed of myself. I Raped my wife and I hate myself since that incident.

Honestly, I don't know what came over me that particular day, I tried to make advances towards her, she refused and she pushed my hand away. Out of anger I slapped her on her face (she bled from her mouth), I overpowered her and forcefully had my way through. She cried all through that night.

I regretted my actions, I feel remorse, I hate my Life . I have begged her seriously to forgive me but she haven't said a word to me for over 5 days now. She cook for just herself and my daughter, she no longer sleep in our matrimonial bed, she would rather sleep in my daughter's room or the visitor's room, she no longer greets me anymore.

I have never abused, beat or raised my hands on my wife or any woman before. Last week was my first time I did such an abominable act in my Life . What If any one notice we're having issues now, how will I explain to them what actually happened?

I don't even want my little daughter to know we're having issues. I don't know who to talk to. It's a faceless forum that's why I'm sharing my pain here . Great people of this forum, honestly things have never been better ever since that incident and I wish our minds are like show glass so that y'all would see how sorry I am inside of me. I messed up and I'm really sorry.

5 days after I created that post above, My wife traveled with my daughter to her parents house to stay without telling me. Since that incident my wife haven't said a word to me, Not a single word. Sometimes I wonder if she's the same woman I married. I'm frustrated, incoherent and I'm losing my mind.

I've been good to her, I provide 85% for my family while she bring just 15% yet I don't complain, I'm romantic and good looking, since we married I don't keep female friends not to talk of cheating. Yet She denied me sex over 2 months without any reasons, that was why I acted that way and I'm so sorry.

On Tuesday here, My friend and I traveled to her parents house, they did not even welcome us well, I don't know what she must have told her parents but I explained myself, knelt down and asked for forgiveness.

She refused to come home with me, her parents were just starring at me like I'm some demon, I requested for my daughter but she refused to release her and I've already paid my daughter's school fees for the term. Her parents said they would register my daughter in a new school, that my wife need some space for now.

Please don't call me a weak man, I'm family oriented, I don't want broken home, if she needed some space that's not a problem, I can give her all the space in the world but let her come home. It's not proper raising a child in a broken home...I'm really losing my mind.
