Health / Re: Can A Tooth With A Large Hole Be Cured Without Extraction by GerogeI(m): 12:59pm On Jun 04
Sheuns:
Yes it can. A procedure called Root Canal Therapy will be carried out. It involves removing the sensitive parts of the tooth (the pulp) and filling it up with a substance called amalgam. After this is done, the enamel will need to be covered with a substance called crown.

I’ve gone through the procedure in 2017. It saves the tooth.
Root Canal is well proven to cause internal rot, and consequently unexplainable routine inflammation.

Do not do root canal, extract the tooth. Further for those of you who already have a root canal, better go for CT Scan check up, to ensure your Jaws and facial bones are not rotting internally.

Boss, i have a 120Vdc 4000W hybrid inverter, I have connected 4 500W panel (in series). I just got a 1hp inverter AC. I want to use it (during the day). If i am to add new panels (lets say 4), would you suggest in series or parallel?

Its SRNE inverter (24V 3.3Kw) Maximum Vdc is 500V
You know high current gives more power loss than high voltage primarily due to heating. So theoretically it's better to max out your voltage in series before paring up in parallel.
However, another more important reality is that most of us have dissimilar panels unlike peeps in first world countries, some older than others.
A poor performing panel in series is like a choke on the whole system, throttling down current. In my set up, I like to identify similar poor panels and yoke them in parallel, while the best panels are in series. That way, no choking, and I do not throw the panel away.

Good afternoon, how have you been? I saw that you used 30amps pwm charge controller for 3 x 300w panels
My current set up is 30amps 2 x 170w panels. I am thinking of adding one 430w panel so I can power my 110w freezer during the day. Would you advice to get Mppt charge controller? Or I can stick with my 30amps charge controller based on your experience
12v system

Buy more panels first. Two 170w is equal to 1nos 300w almost. Your 30 amp can take 3nos 300W at 8 amps each. When you exceed this, buy 1 more to make it up to 120Volts in series, before you buy a large capacity MPPT Charge controller and Inverter, which can last you for years. 120 volts is usually the minimum operating volts for large capacity charge controllers.

Dr. Ernest Azụdialụ Obiejesi, Nestoil to float an airline, Nesto Aviation!!

Obijackson will be joining Airpeace, UN Airline in the league as First class Nigeria carrier.

Another win for Anambra and Nigeria at large.

This one is a miss, bandwagon effect. How many people are flying that he thinks the market is big enough for him, air peace and United Airlines?

Why not focus on your area of strength - oil and gas. Is Obijakson aware that there are proven gas Wells in Alor, Akukwa near Awka, Igboariam, and Amansiodo. And one unserious oil company currently has the prospecting licence OPL 916, 917, 906 and 905. Orient Petroleum is only working on OPL 915 Anambra River which just about 20% of the area.

Companies are rushing to Ogun state because of cheap gas, gas produced by Imo and Delta states, piped to Ogun via Lagos, and made available in a single hub zone. We can have even better in Anambra because we own the gas.

Frankly, I would love to meet the Obijackson, I have some ideas to share with him. He does not know where to invest. If aviation is doing 12% return on investment, oil and gas is doing 50 -60% return on investment especially now all prices have been deregulated.

Are you guys aware that Emzor is planning to sink some 28 million USD somewhere in Ogun state, tomorrow she will start a media campaign to involve the rest of us when the usual suspects find a sophisticated reason to either take it from her or destroy it.

Governor Soludo should please call that woman and give her free land and a serious advice.

Another visionless one, is Oil Serve (Enerst Azudialor) and the Billions he wasted on a Sky scrapper in the middle of Victoria Island Lagos. OilServe as an oil service company work mainly in PH, Akwaibom, Cross River, Delta and Bayelsa. So sort of craziness made them go over half a thousand miles to build a skyscrapper head office in a place where they have absolutely no business. Hope they are wise to liquidate that asset through a bank loan and invest elsewhere.

By "bypass" do you mean it wouldn't charge the batteries?
What can you power with it when it bypasses the batteries?

Yes, Bypass means it stops monitoring battery voltage and stops battery charging function. All power from the panels will be sent to the load. What it will power depends on the power input from the solar panels and the suns intensity.

If you are asking if its a limp mode, no its not a limp mode. I get more wattage out in bypass mode, because the system is not charging battery or bothering about the battery at all.

How many Panels does this hybrid inverter need to adequately supply power direct at day and if i need little power by night to power fans, a laptop and charge phones, can 1 220Ah Tubular battery serve. Thanks

Every thing depends on how you configur it, bearing two limits in mind.

1 - The minimum voltage for the 5kw version is 120volts. Maximum is 500volts. If you do not have enough panels to get 120volt, the controller will not even power on. Each 300w panel can give you at least 30v, so you need about 4 before this inverter will power up. It has a 2kw version with less voltage requirements

Also 500volt maximum means you can put panels in series and parallel, but your real upper limit is the 80Amps maximum current.

As for night use. It takes 48 volts. So one single battery cannot work on the 5kw version. The 2 kW models uses 24 volts. Its better to buy 4 units of 50ah or 100 AH batteries than a single 220AH.

To keep costs low, you can use 4 car batteries, for light and phones, but if you add fan and laptop the car batteries will not last long. You can use discarded car batteries as long as they can maintain 12v.

Knowledge Transfer
Let me also tell you how to resolve badly sulphates batteries. This mean the battery is still internally not corroded, but has sulphur deposits.
Go to pharmacy, by epson salt. Mix with rain water and put small quantities in each battery cell. Get an inverter welding machine, connect positive to battery positive and negative to battery negative. Pump the battery with 50 A current for 4 mins, allow it to cool for 5mins. Repeat, and gradually be increasing the current till you get to 80Amp. You can also use a battery charger, but most will not give more than 20A current. After 5 to 10 cycles your battery should be as good as new if the internal parts are not corroded and falling apart.
Note doing this longer than 3 to 4 mins will either burnout your inverter welding machine or cause over heating and possible explosion of your battery. So stick to the timing. It works for deep cycle batteries too.

I give it to you sir.

Never knew the 60A PWM can carry such power on a 12v battery until someone posted its specs for me.

However, lts still difficult simultaneously drawing power from the battery and having it charged using the PWM system unlike with an mppt that can generate a charging current as high as 59A for a similar 60A charger.

The inefficiency of a pwm is responsible for most disgruntled solar energy users in Nigeria.

Thanks for your valid contribution.

The benefits of MPPT is not debatable, however cost has to balance budget, for a funding strapped enthusiast. Rather than going for a small MPPT charge controller, build up you solar panels with PMW, when sufficient, buy a high capacity 5 kW MPPT or Hybrid

Interesting!

A PMW because of it's low efficiency will invariably reduce every voltage to about 12V averagely.

So, 12 X 48A = 576W.

The only thing saving this charge controller going up in flames is that it can never attain its maximum power generation.

576W is too much power to connect on the 12v system.

The rating for a 60w PWM at 12V should be around 360W or less.

You are tempting fate.
A 60A charge controller has power capacity of 60Ax12v=720W,
576W is well under the rated capacity, Moreover those 150 w panels, especially used one will average 3-5Aamps, that's 30A for 6 panels. 48A will be peak performance.

Your concern is not genuine. The system is properly sized. The only complaint is that you cannot expand without replacing the charge controller.

Secondly, if am running such a system (which I did for 3 years with 30A PWM controller and 3 x300w panels before upgrade), I will always favour more panels, above MPPT charge controllers. I only replaced my charge controller when my panels exceeded the capacity, then I had genuine reason to invest in a robust 5kw solar hybrid inverter, which I still run for daytime power only.

What if I buy the one with higher power (over 1000wh)?
Can't it power a fridge of 200w-250w?

For solar solution to refrigeration. The best solution starts with buying the refrigerator. Do not use you AC refrigerator.

So you buy a solar refrigerator with DC 12v or 24 v compressor. You can also buy a just the DC compressor and replace that of an existing AC fridge. Preferably an old one in your house.

Depending on size, Powering a DC Refrigerator requires 1 or 2 300 W panels, and 1 car battery for 12v or 2 for 24v. You do not need a solar charge controller or inverter. Just connect the solar panels to the car battery which acts as an accumulator to smoothen power variations. The connect the DC compressor to the car battery. The refrigerator will cool in daytime, and defrost at night, everyday which is enough to secure anything you have inside.

I'm curious to know how you connected 6 x 150W solar panels to a 12v battery without surpassing the power setting for 12v on a PWM charge controller?

That's why he used a 60A charge controller. At max of 8 amps per panel, in parallel, they add up to 48A. But those 150w panels should be like 5 Amps each.

Good day guys,

I have 350k set aside for solar installation, and I intend to use it for 2 laptops, 2 Fans and my gadgets. That's all. I don't mind just a solar panel and one battery.

Kindly advise me if this is feasible. If yes, Where can I get this stuff. Thanks.
Solar gets very costly mainly when peeps want to use power at night, meaning they have to store it. Batteries are costly. But you can enjoy solar power in day time, without heavy investment in batteries.

So if you can live with mearsly night power, you can have robust daytime power.
You need inverter and solar charge controller 100k, one or two car batteries 40k ( note you can also use a fairly old car battery, as long as it still gives 12 volts) and as many solar panels as you can get. Buy used panels. The more the solar panels, the more the power, from 10 am to 5 pm. The car battery is just to act as base for the inverter and also to even out instantaneous variation in power production due to changes in sun's intensity. It can charge you phone at night, and provide lighting, but that's it for night use.

Also, there are Chinese solar inverters that can work without batteries when the sun is reasonably bright. But they come in 2kw and 5kw capacities and would burn your whole budget.
