Here you are supporting the destruction of a man's business who has really worked hard to get to where he is today. Tomorrow you would be advocating for foreign investors when you support bullying of business men. And as foolish as you are you believe Dangote will feel the impact of 1m per truck. It's you and I that will pay it through increment in the cost of cement. A powerdrunk gov want to close down a business illegally and you are cheering him on. You are sick

Dangote is not the only cement producer in Nigeria. He did exact same thing happening to him to Ibeto, with NigerCem in Ebonyi state through the former Governor Elechi Amadi. Niger Cem is still wasting away. He bought predatory shares of Unicem in Calabar, with otherworldly plans, and divested when Unicem was not much threat to him. Some others, that might include him did exact same thing with Anambra Kogi boarders dispute to prevent the actualization of the modular refinery planned by H.E Peter Obi. Remember those hired gunmen that went on rampage shooting. This is only a form of karma paying back. The fact that the sale is not legal means he has lost that plant already, depending on when the right person sits in Aso Rock.
Politics / Re: FG Orders Reopening of Obajana Cement Factory by GerogeI(m): 6:00pm On Oct 14, 2022
Story,
If kogi people open the plant and block the roads nko?
Move all dilapidated cars in kogi state to obajana. Set up picketing groups to shoot randomly and turn the place into a war zone. They will draft dodiers in, but no truck will move.

Alternatively, the state Government can quickly pass a law impossing a special tax on all cement (dangote) trucks for environmental degradation, with outrageous amount per truck(1,000,000). Setup a task force on every exit to legally detain the truck. That will bring him to the negotiation table fast.

Here's My Analysis:

Russia's inability to crush Ukraine after six months shows that Russia does not have advance tactical weapon ( apart from Nucks).

And should they deploy Nuclear weapon, they will be crushed as other countries will become directly involved.

It appears Russia' s best weapons are nukes. Nothing more, nothing less.

But I am so shocked that Russia doesn't have defensive weapon as that deployment in Israel.

I feel sorry for Putin. He has a good cause but he will loose this war.

You are obviously not aware of the full scale of conflict.
Note:
1. Russia has no interest in Kyiv or Kharkhiv. They attacked these places to spread out Ukraine troops and take the areas they have annexed.

2. Why is Russia not showing her full might and crushing ukraine. Because, while they fight Ukraine, they must maintain readiness to face US or NATO. Thats the real reason why US is giving weapons to Ukraine. If Russia does not balance her act and depletes her weapons stock. You will see the US and Nato suddenly directly involved, apart from their fear of nuclear weapons.

3. Russia is still not under full mobilization. Putin has resisted this, US is trying hard to get the whole country in full scale war. Hoping for political cracks.

Education / Re: Appeal Court Orders ASUU To Call Off Strike by GerogeI(m): 6:51pm On Oct 07, 2022
JJuanMiguel:

Disobeying a direct court order is still a crime.

Labour disputes are never settled in court. Simply because the court cannot bar unions from protest through strike. If the court orders the call of of one strike, it will be obeyed. However a different strike with new demands will begin. All these gimmicks have happened before under Babangida, Abacha and Obj. Ngige is only reinventing the wheel, which we know does not kill ASUU strikes. A labourer is entitled to fair wage for his labour, and has every right to negotiate for it. The FG also has the right to sack all ASUU members, only we know they cannot recruit new ones because they do not exist. Minimum Qualification for lecturing is a PhD according to NUC.

Did Buhari not know when he devalued naira from 240 to 700 per usd in exchange for loans to build railway to Niger Republic that the workers wages will become meaningless?

How can a Prof., an erudite scholar of 20 years be earning N400,000 , about 600 usd per month, but an aid to Buhari earns N800,000 as basic. A mere seat warmer in the senate goes home withmore than N30m every month, and you say ASUU is your national problem.

You that is arguing just because you want to finish school. You do not realise that your own future is at stake. When you finish you get a job paying 30k per month when 1 usd is 700. How will you function without stealing wherever you are. How will you an employer cope with workers who steal everything in site due to your poor pay, since your customers have low purchasing power as Govt. has devalued their earnings to get foriegn loans at their expense.

Revaluing workers wages in Nigeria always starts with ASUU, after them teachers will rise up next. Blame the economically daft debt ridden govt. and CBN governor. Things must balance out, its simple law of demand and supply.

Well, this might be a good time to suspend the union.
Can you suspend a union?
What do you know about civil rights and labour history? This is the first reason why freedom of Association is enshrined in the constitution. As ling as an Association is not criminal, the govt. has zero control over its membership.

You guys are just being naive. FG cannot resolve industrial issue by court.

ASUU can call of the strike technically this week, and start a new strike with new demands next week. Its just technicality to avoid court contempt since the cort has become partisan.

With current technology and the boyfriend has documented evidences ? And in this OP case, the wife affair was not a secret affair. Even her children knows the boyfriend, neighbors know and even their other colleagues might know as well. Plenty witnesses also.

And DNA is a new technology to Nigeria, it has not been court tested yet. That's why we don't have precedence in court yet.

Yes, witnesses, but you have not factored going to jail before you finish calling your witness to even qualify for dna test. The same evidence you submitted will be used to counter sue you for Adultery in a lower court for faster judgment. Then you head to jail. Whether you survive two years in jail to continue is another issue. That woman you are tormenting could very well pay someone for your life in jail and to be free of you.

That's not how Igbo culture works. Igbo culture doesn't tolerate adultery from the women. The first paragraph is true when a daughter gets pregnant for a man who is yet to perform the traditional rites or gets pregnant out of wedlock, then the child belongs to the father.
That is exactly how Igbo culture works. If you do not pay bride price as a sign of marriage. The child is not yours even if heaven falls. Go ask your elders. Thats why you should be careful getting women pregnant. Cause traditionally, your only way out is to find a way to marry the woman.

Going by your first statement, does that mean women can keep bringing bastards to their husbands since tradition says any child born while a woman is still married to the man is his ?

And you think the side dude will keep her as wife?

You are confusing your emotions with western values.
In Igboland, there is nothing like a bastard. Human life is well valued. Even if you puck a child from the street and call him son. The society regards him as your son irresedctive. In our African value susytem, a father is not just a man that sired a child, but a man that raised a child. From the the cgilds perspective, a father is the man you are trancending in his stead. Stop confusing it with crappy religious morality and impractical emotions

Forget. If the biological father is ready, he will get the child.

Look at it this way. The law will put both the woman and the boyfriend in prison once the boyfriend can proof that they had an affair and it resulted in sex. With today technology, the boyfriend can have many chats and other evidences to proof the affair and even the sex.

The moment the boyfriend shows up to the woman and he is very serious, the woman will not want to go to jail too and she will end up confessing even before the matter gets to court.

No, she will end up denying in order to save herself from jail and her family. Find any precedence in Nigeria where a man successfully claimed parternity in court by dna. I have not heard of a precedence. You can only have a chance if the woman is at least on your side. If she has other kids, she has plenty of reasons not to be on your side.

I just pity that child if he decides to train her.She will suffer on God.

You are naive. This thing is more common than you think. A lot of men have kids they know are not theirs.
They consider the impact on the rest of their children. For some its their licence to cheat as much as they want, the wife keeps the home irrespective and is the begging party. For others , every child is a blessing.

What off if he is ready to go to prison for 2 years and get his child. And he claimed to be the biological father, will the court not summon DNA test?

You can talk about it two years later.
A lot can happen in prison. Lets me ask you, will you go to Nigerian jail for two years to claim another mans raised child, knowing fully well how easy it is to get you offed while in prison. Especially since you are threatening the existence of his family, and already slept with his wife?

Technically yes, practically no. The worst you will do is convince the wife to breakup. But thats hard, she has other kids to think about. Or you wait for the kid to grow up, and introduce yourself. By then you are already a visitor.

This is only if they married under the Act, Court Marriage, and not in all states in Nigeria. This law punishing adultery is only mainly in the northern parts of Nigeria and not common in the south.

And circumstances can make the biological father to come back for his child even with possibility of 2 year improvement.

He can not. The first battle is even getting access to the child for dna test. Stolen dna test is not admissible in court. Secondly, the penal code purnishes adultery, irrespective of north or south.
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2022/07/adultery-crime-liable-to-2-years-imprisonment-%E2%80%95-police/amp/

Merely asking to do DNA test on another mans child is admitting adultery, and can send you to jail. Only the wife can start that process and make that claim, she too could go to jail too.

So what happens if the said child had been born years before the mother of the child got married to another man but the mother of the child and the father of the child were never married ?

The child belongs to the mothers father, and will take his name and have rights in his properties. In Igbo culture, there is no provision for you to claim any child you sired, except you married the mother. There are no bastards, they do not exist because paternity is not by blood. In fact, a common practice in olden times, is that daughters from families with out male children, can decide to get pregnant and give birth to a son that will survive their father. Some will still get married later and leave for their husbsnds house. Leaving the son behind to answer their fathers name. Not done anymore, the trend shifted to such girls marrying a wife for their fathers.

Also, an infertile woman can marry a wife to get pregnant on their behalf. Even a diety can get a wife, thats the Origin of OSU, untouchable children of deities( they were avoided not as second class citizens, but because people feared angering their deity father by mistakenly treating them bad or offending them). Who gets these women pregnant, randy men of the village, who can never claim the children.

And with the Igbo law you just mentioned, if with DNA evidence the forth child father’s approach a law court, who do you think the court of law will recognize as the real father of the 4th child?

And according to Nigeria laws, which supersedes each other between tradition and the constitution?

Lol
I hope you know there is a law punishing Adultery by upto 2 years imprisonment. The man will never approach any court and admit to sleeping with a married woman. He will first go to jail, before he gets the child. Ask a lawyer. Thats why he will forever live in pains.

Good day all. I have posted exactly 2 months ago concerning my fourth child I went ahead with the DNA test unfortunately I am not her father.

Right now a lot of things have been going through my head i am shattered and depressed.

I don't know yet what is going to happen in my marriage I just don't know if the marriage will work or not.

I just wanted to keep you updated about the DNA.

Previous thread:

Let me tell you this. In Igbo culture, paternity is not by blood. Any child born under your house while a woman is still married to you is yours. Children are viewed as wealth. You should have left the dna thing since you know she cheated.

However, now you know, if you know you cannot treat the child as you would your own, then let them go.

But know its a win for the man she cheated with. He gets a child, gets your wife. You loose your wife, your children loose a home with both parents.

But frankly, if you can, keep your child. The real father will see the child in your house, know its his, and can do absolutely nothing about it. That is your power, and you gain a child. Your children gets both parents. He will forever be peeping at you. Hoping on hope that your family breaks apart. Never discuss or agree that the child is not yours. Your wife will forever live in fear of your finding out. That is your power over that marriage, to control her and your home.

Never discuss it with her as people suggest, but a few times hint light heartedly that the child does not look like anyone in your family. The bible says children are like arrows, Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. Make sure the child carries your name everywhere and in everything. Be more passionate about being her father, and show your are ready to fight anyone who suggests otherwise.

DURING THE ABACHA DAYS, HE DEALT WITH ASUU IN A MOST TACTICAL MANNER AND IT REALLY YIELDED BEAUTIFUL FRUITS. AN EXAMPLE WAS INSTALLING THE LATE NO NONSENSE SMART WORKAHOLIC MAMAN KOTANGORA AS THE VICE CHANCELLOR OF AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY. THE UNIVERSITY RAN ON A MOST EFFICIENT GROUND.

ASUU TO ME ARE A BUNCH OF EDUCATED ILLITERATES WHO CAN'T THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX TO GETTING THEIR SO CALLED PROBLEMS SOLVED. THE PROBLEMS ARE NEVER EVER THE GOVERNMENT, IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN, A PROBLEM OF MISMANAGEMENT WITHIN THE CUSTODIANS OF THE EDUCATION, VICE CHANCELLORS, LECTURERS AND E.T.C. IT WILL ONLY BE FAIR IF THERE IS ANY TANGIBLE THING THEY CAN SHOW AS ACHIEVMENTS DESPITE THE LITTLE THEY GET.

THERE IS NOTHING TO SHOW. OUR UNIVERSITIES DOESN'T EVEN MAKE TRANSPARENT TO THE PUBLIC HOW WHAT THE GET FROM THE GOVERNMENT IS BEEN USED TO FUEL THE EDUCATION SYSTEM TO GROW. IT IS A FIGHT TO EMBEZZLE MONEY IN AN INSTITUTIONALIZED MANNER.

I would have agreed with you. Except you saying ASUU is the problem. No, the problem is over centralization, as is with most things in the country. Nigeria has outgrown the stage where Federal Govt. Is craddling tertiary education.

Yes, Govt. Needs to sponsor, subsidize, and support education. But they need to do it indirectly, through grants, matching funds for research and students loan.

University funding are not transparent because they are being managed by politicians. All VC are installed by politicians, who indirectly embezzle the funds that ASUU got from strikes. I still remeber the case a university, when govt. released funds for rehabilitation of school after ASUU strike, the VC used the money to paint everything on campus greenwhite green. How does that add value to learning or is it just for accounting purpose. Do you blame ASUU for what Govt. Appointees do with University funds.

More recently, you have the accountant general taking charge of salaries via IPPIS, paying salaries directly and taking away ghost workers from VC. VCs started making money by selling lecturing jobs for N2.5m. They no longer report retiring people, they just sell the position. If You pay you get your appointment letter. So how can government afford to pay good salary, when the workforce is bloated with many unqualified idle staff. But do you blame ASUU for employment sold by VCs, a govt. Appointee. The VC is not answerable to any one. The people at Abuja are too busy to care what they are doing with funds.

ASUU members are merely workers, do you blame them for demanding a reasonable reward for their work?

The right thing is the each University should be run like a private organisation, with cost and benefit balance. Their funding should come from students, the students who pay the lecturers should be the one determing the level of performance they desire from schools. The Govt. Should simply divert the billions used in funding universities into easy student loans. Each university will then compete in attracting both students and lecturers, they will increase fees, but if your fee does not match your training, students will transfer to other reasonable schools. That will end ASUU strike once and for all. Lecturers will negotiate their salaries individually with their employers, based on the academic and research worth to the university.
You can't pay a lecture that sits in class room same thing as a lecturer that attracts annual research grant of 100m from private sector.

HOW DO YOU MEAN BY THE BOLDED?

What Buhari is doing with Academics is a carryover from military era. At some point, both Babangida and Abacha tried to sack all Academic staff and recruit new people. They could not. Find out more about Prof. ASOBIE of ASUU.

Even if the govt. Breaks this current strike, it will be started again after a semester or session. There is no way the highest academic position will be earning less than 1000$ in a month and they are not under paid. A prof. Can't even afford plane tickets to attend an international conference in a month.

The best thing is to come to a reasonable solution that will placate both sides, or for long term privatize the federal universities to established NGOs and socio cultural and non profit organisation. And fund education through students loans as is done in sane climes.

I don't support what the federal government is doing at all, but ASUU is fighting a very stupid fight they know they won't win.

If you know that federal government is treating you as trash, resign respectful and go to your house or travel out, why punishing the students.

Again , Fiolish APC Supporters won't say anything as regards to the strike, but you'll hear them reminding their dead self of how ASUU embarked on strike during PO tenure in Anambra, but they're blind that this is 7 months students have been at home and they're telling you to vote Tinubu of APC to come and fix the strike lecturers embarked during APC tenure...talk of føolishness , agbadorians are the most fóolish set of people on earth

Strike is equivalent to resignation. The federal govt should employvnew staff if they can. Both Babangida and Abacha tried to and could not. You cannot replace Academics in bulk. Meanwhile while on strike, the best of the academics are leaving the country. When you finish with the strike, you will be left with the thirdclass products who went to upgrade with a masters degree.

COREN should look into establishing road standards per region. Not qoting EU and US codes. And ways to narrow and steep barriers for qualified local engineering firms. As well as prevent foreign contracts where local expertise exists.

I'll like to make my story short as possible without much introduction tho. And also a lesson parents/ new couples should learn from my ordeal, Pls read to the end.

Alright So I'm the only male born of my parent among 4 girls, i also happen to be the last born at it. my problem started when growing up, cause my parent aged bfr getting a Male child which was my Dad and his parent cravings, I was pampered when growing up such that my parents would never watch me do stressful things, dictate when I go out and who I moved out with (My mum's own was even worse cause when growing up, if I want to go out, she'll always send me back inside) even during secondary school they had to get a school very close to our house. my sisters were only the ones that would go to mum's shop and make sales while mum would either stay with me at home or if I eventually go the shop sef I'll always sit and just watch. Literally, I'll say I was denied the right to be exposed to lotta things and real issues about life.

And cause I was not the sociable type cause I'll literally stay at home, watch movies, eat and my movements limited, I was exposed to pornography and masturbation at a very young age and I battled that bad habit thr my University days (Did I say my Parents also dictated the University I went to cause it was close to our House to and any small riot in school then the next hour they'll come and pick me back home till every thing dies down)

So guys over time, I've grown to be this boring guy who is shy, timid, suffering from low self esteem and can't give vibe even when gisting with my fellow guys, in which most of them just relegate me to this small boy level. Did I also say I've never had a Girlfriend all my life cause the truth is ion always know what to say or how to maintain talking vibe. At first I decide not to care and just always console myself with I was created like that and just continue my boring life, it has now gotten to the point I'm not rated in anything at all, most people just make friends with me cause of what they can gain from me, I'm not even good in anything, I can't speak clearly, I'm kinda literally mentally dumb and ion see me useful for anyone or anything, perhaps maybe God only, No business sense, no work skill or experience, no trade experiences to

I'm currently a Corp member serving and before then I rebelled against my parent cause they wanted to dictate the state I serve which is our state of residence so I go to my ppa from home but I told them No and even got to a fight to my Dad cause of this issue and we din speak for like 2weeks, he eventually called me and we settled. But the issue now is guys I've got less than two months left for my POP for service and you don't expect me to return home useless to my parent house again?? Tho sincerely thr my service year, I din touch my allowee so I've saved up to 270k so far. the issue is ask me what I want to do with the money? I've got no idea, what business sense or idea? Nothing is coming to my head, infact I don't know. The funny thing is, my roommate is exactly my opposite, very outspoken, bold, full of vibe and bring back different female friends each day, this guy is not really financially buoyant but you see girls cook and travel all the way to give him for us to eat. I just wish I was like him, i wish i had the vibe embarassed

I'm 24years now and at this age, no idea bout my future, bout life, I can't even relate with people, I'm just so sad, depressed and frustrated. At the moment the only job coming to my head is the military cause I served in a military barrack cause I choose it myself but most of the junior officers are trashing my interest by telling me not to waste my time say I no go survive am with my nature, that military needs tough people and endurance bla bla and on the other hand, my mum is saying Never she'll never allow me join the military not over her dead body and she's bout recruiting my Dad to and Sincerely I'm frustrated and my depression have taken another turn that over the past weeks I've been thinking suicide and it's getting really high, I say I should type this here bfr the worse happen cause if I can't be useful for myself what really is the point living??

Please this advice is to parent and intending parent/couples, pls and pls expose ur children to life, don't over pamper your kids, work on them to make them sociable and outspoken, I swear you'll be doing them a great favour. For me I thought my parent loved me, I thought they were trying to protect me but they've put me in a deep mess I have to face alone and just I pray I get the opportunity to make things right with me embarassed

Oga, you are in too much of a hurry. You have time and nothing is wrong with you. Anyway, you are an Igbo boy.
Am an only son among more girls than you have, so i get all the pampering, but saying they spoilt you is an overstatment. If this is about casual sex, bros calm down. The ladies will eventually be falling over themselves for you. You are a ready made man.

Stop envying people for the very thing that will be their downfall. Do you know how many young men are derailed by unplanned pregnancies, stds and investment in females. Masturbation is a normal cycle of male sexuality, any male that is truthful to you, will tell you they masturbated around your age.

Your personality is not just due to nuture, but nature as well. Many people are are timid and shy at your age. As your brain develops more grey matter, you will be more outspoken and stop worrying about it.

My advice to you is this. Be grateful to your parents for what they have offered you. Life is actually very hard for many people. Utilize the leverage and trouble free life your parents gave you to rise above your peers. Stop thinking being streetwise pays better or gives you more abilities. Focus on a formal professional career, and stop looking for business at this age. You do not have the experience for a worthwhile business. Neither do your friends. All they are doing is merely post study hustle, and that maybe because they have deprndents. You do not, so do not waste time on money ventures thst will not add much to your life. Use your parents connections to rise in a formal profession before thinking about using the resources they have gathered for you for worthy business. Buying and selling is the smallest and most unsustainable business.

You do not need therapy, there is nothing wrong with you. Ever intelligent young man asks same question you are asking. How to connect with people, how to make a living, and what to become? What did you study in Univ., did you not learn anything worth a job from your study?
Business / Re: NDIC Calls On Depositors In 20 Liquidated Banks To Claim Their Money by GerogeI(m): 9:04pm On Sep 13, 2022
This is rather alarming.
Banks that failed 20 to 30 years ago. Its now you are giving people just 21 days to make a claim.

Mind you, 1 naira 30 years ago is not 1 naira today. So what is the official inflation rate for calculating the claims.
1 naira 30 years ago at 10% inflation is about 17.5 naira. At 15%, which is mire realistic, is about 66 naira.

100 naira then is about 6600 now.
10000 then is 660,000. now

Look at these idiots
A few months ago, all of you were jolding Peter Obi responsible for whatever any of his suppoter says, even "Reno the chameleon"

Like a responsible leader, he went out, apologised, even visited aggreived people like kuti. None of you remembered that social media posts are made by faceless people.

For more than 3 months now, Tinubu's campaign has no content except how to ostracize Igbos, and brand Obi as IPOB. There are mass messages worse than the one Peter Obi read out here on nairaland. I remember one that ranaway after I reminded him the prrsonal implication of his threat of genocide against Igbos.

Rather, than cautioning yourselves on what Peter Obi pointed out about your ethnically divisive campaign, which any lay person on social media comes accross everyday. You all are turning round to question why he should point it out, as if its not human beings that will die when yhe violence you are all incubating materialises.
Peter Obi is responsible for the action of obidients , but Tinubu is not responsible for the action of his paid media agents.

AliGro:
Nnamdi Azikiwe was vilified by his people even in death. His mausoleum was only completed by Buhari. What wrong did Zik do? He exhausted his diplomacy and international contacts, and strongly advised Ojukwu to step down resistance for the sake of the lives of many vulnerable Igbos who were hit by the war. He made it clear to Ojukwu that Biafra did not have the required international support to survive the war even with the fact that they were not well armed to continue the war. He advised that the odds against the idea of Biafra in the international comity were so much that all possible strategies put forward by Ojukwu could only prolong the suffering of the vulnerable inhabitants of the region of resistance. It was common sense but Ojukwu continued his criminal adventure even against the advice from his ranks. In fact, he had to kill his commanders to have his way through until he fled like a coward. He was the wicked one.

Nigeria as a country had its foreign policy at the time and so did Britain. They conducted their relationship accordingly. This was something that was clear to diplomats like Zik when he advised the delinquent Ojukwu. Let's go back to our history to self-reflect and demand real answers from story tellers instead of depending on revised history by people who were, rightfully, bitter and directly affected at the frontlines by the war.

My reply to you is this
https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2020-04-29-how-britains-labour-government-facilitated-the-massacre-of-biafrans-in-nigeria-to-protect-its-oil-interests/

You are trying to cloak British murderers, and their criminal enterprise Shell/BP, as bogus words such as foreign policy. 20 years ago, you dare not say the word Biafra on the streets. Today it is the most reknown Nigeria word among both Igbos ,Hausas, and Yorubas.
One day, the truth of the genocide will be shouted from the tops of mountains!
