This thread has become a place for tragicomedy. My dear country Nigeria, I wonder when we will get things right. Lives are been lost every day and the ordinary man as a soldier is been used as fodder to sustain these fat pot bellied generals and politicians. The problem affecting the Nigerian military is systemic, it includes the whole nation. I expected that after many years of fighting an enemy, lessons are learnt and solutions proffered. If this was a serious country, the doctrine of the military would've been changed to fighting insurgency and relevant equipment provided, but no, no, no, na my country be dis, people dey cash out and they won't speak truth to authority. The foundation for this rot we are seeing was laid down from the middle 80's by past military and successive govts. The love for the military was not to serve but to be military govs and ADC's. Most of the command and general staff of the military since this insurgency started are of the 80's intake. We need a stop gap and it must be drastic for both the officer corps and the enlisted. |

Salatavor: I don't even understand this your write up... But relevance brings acceptance... The Nigeria we used to know was relevant... I hope that answers your irrelevant question. I initially posted a response to you, but on a second thought I had to delete it since you wrote my question was irrelevant. Keep waiting for that call from the US before you feel relevant and accepted. |

kenpaul0: No...But we all are aware of the circumstances that lead to that. As a fellow African Country that supported them through the struggle against apartheid things could have been handled better. They did not have to allow things go South as they did @kenpaul0, my discourse started with you on my reply to this post you made. It's not a SA v Nig thing, it's just that these wouldn't be happening if not for bad leadership and some fvcktards Nigerians that are criminal. We just brow beat without any substance. |

Geronimoe: ROFL. North Korea is actually a pawn to China. And the only reason it's still existing as a seperate and communist country. My problem is that we sometimes have an over bloated ego and still living in the past. It's a giving that South Africa is more advanced than other African countries because of their past - apartheid (it laid the foundation for their economy and advanced industries but regrettably the current leaders are thoughtless, unthinking and vacuous-if not cos of apartheid, SA would have been another Lesotho or Mozambique). But I've digressed a little, the substance of my gist is, what else do you think you've better than SA apart from that we helped them during apartheid. |

So much for mental slavery...i'd rather be a North Korea than a Nigerian who would kiss SA arse ROFL. North Korea is actually a pawn to China. I still stand on my points irrespective of yours...and i believe i speak for majority of Nigerians....even here The day we begin to understand that all these small countries are just pawns in international politics is the day that we emancipate ourselves from mental slavery. As a fellow African Country that supported them through the struggle against apartheid things could have been handled better. They did not have to allow things go South as they did Helped them during apartheid yen, yen, yen, yen, is that all we've got to say to SA? Can we let that rest please! If Nigeria is a serious country would we be discussing about this now. Goodluck Jonathan's govt messed up big time, there's no way any body can explain this away. I'm very sure part of that money was to be stolen(inflated contract), if not all. Make una no blame SA govt abeg, they have rules and if they decided not to break those rules for our own sake, why blame them. I'm very sure if the tables were turned today, govt officials, military, customs will be ready to play balls cos that one na our way. Crude oil is being lifted illegally by both European and Asian registered vessels in Nigeria and sold in international markets and you think Nigerian officials are not conniving? Abegi! |

mekussa: The same thoughts ran through my head. However, i think this operation to clear the forest areas is the more difficult of the two and should be done first.
The navies lake Chad countries of the MNJTF can do their mop up clearance after the boko asses have been softened by artillery and air bombardment...... Island by island. Fighting in wet and marshy lands is no joke, you even have outgrowths that could conceal enemies just some meters away. And the hardest thing is how to move and maneuver your hardware. |

How about Lake Chad axis? If that place is not cleared out and the big Islands occupied, then I don't see this ending any time soon. SamuelAnyawu: Yes bro. Cameroonians from the Southern/Central Borno axis, while Chadians from the Northern Borno axis.
The Operation is going to begin simultaneously. I Heard it's the Final Showdown
A Colonel here told us it's going to be massive. I mentioned here last week of lots of Artillery piece from the Nigeria Army rolling in.
February will definitely be a month to remember.

horlams: It is one of the NAF's JF-17, the image has been shared on this thread a while ago. Nigeria only paid for 3 aircrafts don't let SSBN deceive you with his fallacies. The cited source, DefenseNigeria is known for making ridiculous claims and spreading misinformation. I might agree with you since I don't go through all the pages. Is globaldefencecorp.com, SSBN's? |

horlams: All these copy paste cut and join journalists sha. Article contains what has been shared in this thread before Truthfully, I don't know if that's a JF-17 wing. But have you ever seen one with a NAF roundel on it's wing? Someone wrote about the plane still not delivered and that article was written four days back, still in November. "... unconfirmed report on social media said Nigeria is negotiating for 40 more aircrafts", this is new info for me, even though it's unconfirmed. |

Ablemax: how will it come to an end when buratai and co are eating the money ment for buying and kitting our soldiers........at the end they give dem just two magazines to engage the bht boys who has truck full of bullects to waste on our soldiers.... Lol. Oga most of us know what's happening but you can rant as much and nothing will change. You think it's only about the army leadership, there's more to what is happening. If you like bring General Sarath Fonseka or General Norman Schwarzkopf or Adekunle (Black scorpion) or Vo Nguyen Giap (This one even sabi the insurgency pass Al barnawi and Shakau combined) they cannot do anything more with the present state and capability of the Nigerian army. |

ugo4u: Give or take our Army chief needs to be changed, it doesn't mean he hasn't done well, we need fresh ideas if CinC can't find a capable/competent replacement (which is impossible) then AM Abubakar Sadique should head both the NAF and NA. We can't be loosing men with reckless abandon and no one is made to bear the consequences. Whether we like it or not PMB seems to be totally out of touch with reality on ground. I agree with you on this one, especially the part of fresh ideas. The army need complete overhaul and if possible reconstructed. |
