jakeporeshenko: Don’t mind the stubborn goats I guess when you run a dictatorship some simple things need a lot of convincing
Oga sir, why do you find it necessary to insult people on this faceless forum. If it gives you joy, enjoy to the maximum. Some people here pretend to have absolute knowledge about the Nigerian military and it's operations everywhere. You said the problem is leadership, are they not part of the Nigerian military? Are they from boys brigade or boys scout? When the military was being overrun in their FOB's we blamed the army leadership, no equipment bla bla bla,now they are succeeding in their operations with the same equipment we praise the boys in the field. Remember Damasak when the Chadian army first liberated it, they made jest of the Nigerian army that they are afraid to come take over from them. Isn't that insulting to "the giant of Africa and the best military in sub saharan Africa . Anyway
I'm not saying they should be perfect, even the almighty US military is not perfect. In a situation where you see a soldier shooting into the air from a trench, that's a leadership problem right? Situations where they prefer to drop their body armor to go on combat missions(This saves lives sometimes. Ask Collin Powell in Vietnam when he was advicing the south Vietnamese), that's a leadership problem right? When soldiers drink and get drunk when preparing for an offensive, that's leadership problem right? When a foreign military comes through your border looking like liberators, you don't think that's a problem? In Sierra Leone when plenty Nigerian soldiers had died, the British army came in and claimed it as their victory, every Nigerian shouted from high heavens that it wasn't so. How about the Chadian soldiers acting as an anvil at their own end while we act as the hammer. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to belitlle the sacrifices made by this individual men dead or alive, I'm grateful for their sacrifices, but as a whole? Haba!
jakeporeshenko: Be ashamed of yourself bro, our soldiers are doing great with the training and equipment they get, Chadian Troops or not we’ve held on to our territory the last few years, what’s the point of a multinational join take force if we can’t conduct cross border operations ?
Cameroonian soldiers have been operating in Nigeria for months and vise versa but we don’t hear noise in the media but as soon as chad is involved we wont hear word, abeg allow us rest jor.
Nigerians soldiers are brave and capable, the problem is leadership.
By the way I don’t think I’ve seen anyone here compare chad to Nigeria, there’s no basis for that, lets not get things twisted.
Oga that's your opinion. I've no qualms about that. If you want to keep praising mediocrity(the bane of the Nigerian society) when obviously there are big shortcomings, I also have no qualms about that. "By the way I don’t think I’ve seen anyone here compare chad to Nigeria", are you saying this for the sake of argument or you are serious, because I'm very sure you are not new here. Chad, Cameroun, Niger, countries that you want to thump your chest to them and always say we are the giant of Africa.
SamuelAnyawu: The Chadian Soldiers are here in Monguno, i guess the Full Baga takeover loading soon
I saw the video, with even a Nigerian soldier waving and welcoming them. I'm seriously ashamed of our armed forces. Gone are the days of yore when they were once revered.Imagine Chad, that the current president when he was GOC fought and drove almost to N'Djamena. So much so for the "Giant of Africa". Una wey sabi compare if I hear kpim again ehn...
In continuation of Operation YANCIN TAFKI which was launched last month, troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force, comprising Air and Land Components from Chad, Cameroon, Niger Republic and Nigeria have for the second time in about 10 days, dealt a devastating blow on Boko Haram Terrorists.
Last night, Boko Haram Terrorists operating along the Kamadougou River, between Niger and Nigeria, attacked troops location in Gueskerou, about 30 kilometers from Diffa in Niger Republic. However, troops showed valour and gallantry by fiercely defending their location and killing 27 terrorists, destroying 6 Gun Trucks and capturing several equipment, arms and ammunition. A few terrorists who escaped the fire fight were observed running towards Gashigar in Nigerian territory and were being pursued as at the time of issuing this Press Release.
In a related development, between 3 and 6 pm today, MNJTF troops also confronted Boko Haram Terrorists around Abadam, in the general area of Mallam Fatori. A summary of human and equipment casualty suffered by Boko Haram during the engagement is stated below: a. 23X BHT KILLED b. 20X AK 47 RIFLES c. 5X AA GUN d. 12X AK 47 RIFLES e. 1000 X 7.62 MM AMMO f. 500 X 12.7MM AMMO g. 1 X BHT CAPTURED ALIVE h. 5 X MOTOR CYCLES i. 1 X MOTOR CYCLE DESTROYED. j. 4 GUN TRUCKS DESTROYED k. 3 GUN TRUCKS CAPTURED l. 3 GENERAL PURPOSE MACHINE GUNS CAPTURED m. 3 HAND GRENADES CAPTURED
It would be recalled that about 10 days ago, MNJTF troops also struck Boko Haram Terrorists in Dorou in Niger Republic, neutralizing many of them in the process. The MNJTF is therefore determined to intensify subsidiary operations such as raids, ambushes and fighting patrols among others until the last strong hold of Boko Haram in the Lake Chad Basin is neutralized.
Please, disseminate this information to the general public.
Colonel Timothy Antigha Chief, Military Public Information Officer MNJTF N'Djamena - Chad
These are the kinds of stuffs we like to read not 3 BH neutralised or 2 AK 47 recovered. Let them feel the heat too, fk them thru the ass, intensify the offensive until they cry out they don't want the 72 vees anymore. Kill as much as you can, if possible no POW, revenge the life's of comrades, CJTF and civilians killed. I just wish they could get Al-Barnawi and Shakau alive.
Odunayaw: I am for cost effectiveness. That ATGM is already listed in that units Table of Organisation and Equipment so really it would just be a matter of time for it to be used. If a Carl Gustav were on hand and the fellow used a Javelin without the necessary orders he would get a major stick.
[b]Yes, life before money but when your money is gone through attrition what then happens .
Life goes on. For God's sake we are a country, it's not as if using those equipments will make us go completely broke.
Odunayaw: How about about forcing them into kill zones by "claymore-ing" break points/weak points and then taking them out with 60mm mortars and AGLs
I stated that they are expensive, but in another way could anything be expensive if your life depends on it? Good and capable weaponry could/would've maybe helped finished this war in the North East if the past and present govt were serious. I remember a movie based on the memoir of a journalist (tango whiskey foxtrot), I saw where a marine used a javelin ATGM to destroy a car, their commander berated him for using thousands dollars weapon for that purpose, but for me it got the job done and the question is, what would've happened if he didn't use the ATGM. War is expensive, very expensive.
I think that ATGM's though expensive will be a decider in most of these engagements, they could be knocked out afar off. BH have effectively used technicals in this war and it's one of their major strategy.
Trainings like these are good but me think they are kind of rigid and static. Doing this over and over again becomes lethargic. I've seen a video on YouTube where French special forces or legionnaires (can't remember which) where training in an urban area and the population where going about their business indifferent to what was happening. This kind of training presents different kinds of scenarios, i.e down a street might be a parked car and the next minute mightn't be there. And I think they have houses in the urban areas where the enemies hide. So, you might be patrolling an area or given a task to get to a point and the next thing you are getting hit from an adjacent building. Best scenarios for urban warfare in my opinion.
Jeez. I'm trying to understand this Pak vs India happening here, is kabe1 Pakistani? If no, why always flogging the issue. I want to believe most people that come here are matured enough to have been able to form an opinion of what happened between these two countries and in that respect, kabe1, it's not possible to force what you think down people's throats. You've already written your opinion here countless times(which you are entitled to and I respect that) and coming back with it again after it's past seems to me like (a) a propaganda (b) hate (c) troll... I could go on and on but wondering who the hell takes nairaland serious. It's good to see that we are past Nig vs SA bullshit.
BabaOwen: Insecurity in the North west is getting so terrible.
What are the police, army and air force personnel doing when lots and lots of Nigerians are been killed by bandits daily.
This nonsense dey make me boil with anger
They are mostly concerned about the elections and the re-election of their principals. In a situation where thousands of police men are drafted to a state for election purposes, but in Zamfara few military men are drafted talks much of how the elected views us:nonentities. It's unfortunate that some of them that casted their votes wouldn't be alive to hear the results of the elections.
I couldn't help but laugh out loud over the guy giving the commands. The guy is maybe a vet in the North East and the other soldiers smh (maybe freshers). They look disorganised and frightened. Anyway e no easy na my house I dey type this one. May God continue to protect them and grant them victory always.
GeneralFarouq: U would also notice that they lack webbing... I think the NA needs to make webbing available for this soldiers like the AFSF.. I mean how much does this webbing cost sef?
No mind the leadership, them prefer to buy powerbikes.
bidexiii: We are the CREWS We are the heart of the battle We don't kill We only break bones We are heroes We don't drive flashy cars We drive battle tank
WE ARE THE ARMOUR
Forgive my asking this way if it looks rude, what's all this gibberish on this patch?
A post by Khalid Umar he is family friend of the KIA Pakistani pilot whose family reached out to him with the news of their sons death. It was he who first made public the news of the said pilots death and the reason behind it. Later confirmed by Ind... assets. Yet to be acknowledged by Pakistan. Google if u want.

The moment when Pakistani officials got their ass handed back to them when they tried to demonstrate " Truth is the first casualty of war " was when Taiwanese airforce categorically rejected their claim that the AMRAAM wreckage shown by India is from Taiwan stocks.
kikuyu1: ] I've done this before when it happened but you can always tell false flags by the those involved:case in point ,the Westgate owned by Larry Silverstein of 911 infamy own partner,Frank Lowy. And no,its not 'net! My neighbour,ex City planner personally met him before construction.
