1m.annualy which is 1,000,000/12

However, anybody who earns 1m.per year is still poor and will be very difficult for such person to afford paying rent for decent apartment not to talk of building a house
Let's set aside building a house as it takes time and is dependent on a lot of factors. The person who earns 1 million per month isn't interested in building in Kogi to live.

How is a million naira earner per month still poor? Rent should be affordable for such a person. The thing is wife and children, plus family relatives.

What of businessmen? At what level will their tax calculation start?
This should be under corporate taxes and capital gains tax. Business people should not pay themselves salaries so they reduce their taxes. Alternatively, pay yourself very low. Like 200K per month. wink

I spend 70percent of my time under a very conducive and comfortable weather. Else I might probably have had a reason to change my shorts on a daily, but I got no reason for now.
Almost every man on earth is a problem then. Sexually active men demand for BJ. You should talk to almost every man out there, not only me.

For those in temperate regions, they have a tangible reason. Even then, I changed mine daily during winter. I guess it is a habit now. However, this excludes after defecating and having dysentery abi diarrhoea: change is highly encouraged.

When I was much younger, I got the advice to change boxers daily on Nairaland. I had over 30 boxers while in the university. The rules have been simple:
- change it everyday
- change after defecating. So, if I sh!t 100X, it means I must wear a new boxer
- change after too much sweat regardless of it is a new one that day
- change after a bath.

Or, coming to Japan for masters will be a better alternative? She holds 2.2 B.A in philosophy (2011). Is it possible for her to get admitted to schools that teach in English with affordable school fee? Does Japan offer post graduate work permit? Does Japan allow dependents to come with student visa?

Affordability of school for masters is key...

Thanks
The course is the issue as there are fewer universities that offer art and humanities programs in English. This does not mean there aren't any, but there are few and mostly the top universities in the major cities. So, this means higher living expenses. From next year, the same major universities will likely increase their tuition fees, especially for foreigners as the govt has removed the threshold. International students are usually the first group to have an increment. Japan is especially good for STEM programs and business programs to an extent as those are where the opportunities are plentiful for Africans and there are scholarships for our people in those areas. Not so much for Philosophy.

The year she graduated is another issue as questions would be asked and her CV would be assessed to know how. For major universities, grades are also important. So the quality of her experience will be assessed. An alternative is to pursue a program in Education related programs, but again, most of such are in Japanese, not English.

There is a post-graduate work visa, but to fully harness it, it is important to search for jobs before one graduates (this is a tradition here). If one does not find a job before graduation, there is a six month visa to extend the job search. If after this period, still no job, another six-month visa is available subject to terms and conditions such as money for sustenance and evidence of job hunting. Even the first six month require evidence of job hunting, but it is not strictly applied as the second. Both will require a letter of confirmation from her academic supervisor. If there is no job after this one year, the chance of the visa to be renewed is very low. Another thing, masters here is between the academic supervisor and the student. So even though it can be a taught masters, approval from a professor whose research aligns with the prospective student is mandatory.

Dependants are allowed subject to the main applicant's evidence to support the livelihoods of the intended dependants. Japanese universities are way more affordable than their Western counterparts. P.S. Target national universities, not public or private universities.

Please go through this thread's pages as I have explained the various steps: https://www.nairaland.com/2655545/japanese-visa-travelling-japan/40 Everything is in that thread.

The onus on searching for further explicit information not included in that thread is on you.

Chief Gerrard, I want my wife to try the English teaching path in Japan. How easy it is securing a job? What is your advise for us? Thanks
Search on Google about "English teaching job websites". Apply to as many job postings as possible. Be serious with jobs that offer visa relocation as some of these jobs are strictly for those in Japan. At the same time, those with relocation packages tend to pay more, are more competitive and have tougher screening processes.

State that you are a native speaker of the English language. Your competitors are white Westerners who are loved by students, recruiting companies and Japanese in general. When asked what language Nigerians speak, state English as many don't know. They know of South Africa, but not many, especially outside Tokyo know of Nigeria. Further state that Nigeria gained independence from the British in 1960 just like Ghana, South Africa and Kenya. The education system uses English from nursery to university/tertiary levels. English is the only official language. You have to beat the Filipinos in this round before defeating white Westerners and black Americans.

Your CV should be minimalistic: two pages maximum and include only relevant information. Don't put your local government or sex. You can put DOB, but please for the love of whoever you worship, ensure it is the same as your other documents because that is what the employer and immigration bureau will use. Any discrepancy raises eyebrows and will stain the name of Nigeria in the eyes of the employer.

Upon getting the job, check for housing and maybe transport allowance. If you get both, congratulations. But one is especially the former is usually added. Both are standard perks for jobs here. If the employer will pay your health insurance, brilliant! But this is rare for English teaching jobs. That perk is associated with a standard teaching job.

P.S. An English teaching job is not a "standard teaching" job. You work as an Assistant Learning Instructor alongside a Japanese. You are not a teacher in the eyes of education companies or the government. A standard teacher works in private schools (Japanese is the language), public schools (Japanese is the language) and international schools (both Japanese and English are the languages). An English teaching job, in my opinion, is a WAEC tutor role. Anyone can do it provided the person speaks good English. It should be a means to an end, but never the end. If you want to live longer here and enjoy the country, aim to change career roles within two years maximum.

The visa stage is straightforward as the issuance of the COE (Certificate of Eligibility) means 9 out of ten, you get issued the visa.

Omo, let's be truthful to ourselves, most middle age men have eyes on these chicks. Infact once I sit and gist with close peers all they talk of is catching a young chick that they will enjoy their older years with, say they have to plan. That as most of their kids are abroad having kids their wives will start spending time abroad abandoning them. Infact my paddy I was with few days ago said his neighbour waits at the gate to buy ewa agoyin, goes to buy indomie to cook for himselve as madam don de US and Canada for 9 months! Even my lawyer sef de tell me say another 5 years him plan na to carry one smallie make she de born for am, I asked why does he need young kids again, the stress of raising them, omo he said it is those young kids that will keep him company as he gets older.
Try sitting with men over 50, you will be shocked when you hear all they say.
Thanks for your narrating your experiences.

The way I see it is because some (I no wan say most) of our men cannot or have not lived for long as bachelors with no women visiting them. Two, they don't have real-time hobbies or activities aside from work/business. So as the children get older and leave to be independent, these men become lonely. Also, some of the houses these older men have are too large in terms of space, thus, they need human companions. Additionally, they don't have male companions to hang out with or aren't interested in it.

As for having another child, marriage is too cheap in Nigeria. Outside Nigeria, the cost of raising children at one's older age is enough to scare any man (except wealthy men) to desist from it. If younger men can be worried about marriage, how much older men?

I understand, and approve, of having a young girl(s) to quench an erection, but going to have more children is something I find odd. At that age, what dissuades these men from undergoing vasectomy?

Check the profiles of her close friends, send friend requests and message them stating your intentions. Lastly, post her picture on your wall stating your intentions and a monetary reward for anyone willing to divulge her current contact details via Messenger.

Yes, I remember seeing a lady like that on Twitter. Last time I saw her profile (don’t remember her name), she was based in Nigeria.

Back to japa prospects; if one can learn Japanese, what would you rate the chances for study or work visa, in comparison to Chinese too?

I could try Chinese too, but I’m considering the supposition that both languages are quite difficult for English speakers, therefore my personal inclination for Japanese might make it more likely to stick to the long process. That, and browsing through some Reddit threads, people seem to think it’s better to live in Japan (putting aside China’s better economic prospects).
I have never lived or visited Korea or China, but the mere fact that attaining permanent residency status is easier in Japan tells me a lot about living here compared to other nations. Also, young Koreans and Chinese come here for job-hunting, but rarely or almost no Japanese youth do the same in Korea and China. As a black African, and black in general, Japan is the best for jobs and career advancement/opportunities. The job market is too competitive for non-Chinese in China and not really open for non-Koreans in Korea. However, while the job is competitive in Japan, a foreigner who knows how to speak Japanese will have a higher chance of getting a good job here than in China and Korea even if the person speaks Chinese or Korean. This especially applies to a black person. Nevertheless, China is the best for business when/if one has the financial resources.

Go through the pages of this thread where I have explained some aspects of getting residency in Japan.

This is all a pipe dream anyway. Real life that I know, many girls go through one year, three year relationships without any spending on them, because they want to prove they are not golddiggers. They also give sex for free, to prove they are not prostitutes. After which it doesn't work out between them and the guys that keep entering relationships and breaking up with them.

So all this talk about spending money... Especially for the average homebody girl that wants to prove she's good, those girls don't see the money. The guys may even be borrowing from them. It's common.

There's no money, just sex most times. So what's all this talk. The girl go gain with no sex self.
Fair argument.

So now, the same ladies have insisted on no premarital sex or spend the money.

On the other hand, my medical doctor acquaintance mentioned how it doesn't make sense to have sex with every man in a relationship as changing relationships meant to have sex with every single man. Life doesn’t begin and end in the city, and Gen Z ladies are not the majority of married women, so you don’t have to draw your conclusions based solely on your experiences or others’ experiences with them.

I’ve traveled around this country, mixed with different cultures, and can tell you unequivocally that irresponsibility is not gender-based.

Igala women—most of them—run the household, and Idoma women do the same. I’m talking about those in the villages. Let’s not even get started on Bayelsa or Delta. How about Baba Iyabo, who drops 2k in the morning before leaving the house and returns in the evening to eat his fill, or Papa Emeka, who drops a single tuber of yam and expects to eat to his fill at night? What about Aboki husbands, whose wives are in a different state, surviving on 5k or 10k sent to them every weekend?

Guy, Nigerian women are hardworking, and they take care of their families—especially their children.
Thanks for that observation as it shows the true state of the issue rather than through the lenses of those who see Nigeria beginning from Lagos then terminates at Abuja.

Nonetheless, it's good we've this survey because TwitterNG feminists have ranted so much about women being breadwinners that a first timer would have thought half of Nigerian households were sponsored by the women.

no cleaner is earning 2750 per month after tax in the UK except industrial cleaners who own the business. The average salary of a cleaner in uk is in the screenshot below.

While i was in the UK 2005-2008 there were Nigerians who built houses back home with cleaner, kitchen porter or peke( club work) . Things have become costly now, and in the past those people didn’t come with family so less expenses. They mostly rented one room in a house, no car etc. Today with spousal and dependent visas some came with wife and 4 children. He cannot save anything.
Honestly, unless the breadwinner - usually the man - gets a high paying job or a sales related job, it won't be easy to make up for the expenses incurred in the japa process as expenses while residing in the UK climb up. Also, most sold their properties and Nigerian based investments. No wonder one Nairalander stated most won't return to Nigeria until after a decade or fifteen years.

Most of the comments by the male folks were so emotional rather than logical. If to say OP is a woman, they'd have pounced on her. OP is aggrieved and rightfully so.

Hopefully, it’ll happen sooner rather than later or never. My workplace always tells us to learn Chinese or French, but my heart says Japanese cheesy
Well, you’re technically right. K-drama seems more popular in Nigeria. But I had a virtual meeting in my workplace earlier this year, with hundreds of people in attendance. The organizer asked which country we would like to visit. A surprising number of people mentioned Japan for their anime and culture.
It’s kinda surreal. Most times I check TikTok, I see at least one Nigerian girl that loves Korean drama moving there for studies. They have relatively good grasp of the language too. Dey don carry am for head ehn grin
K-drama is female dominated. Even Western females love it, ditto for Asian ladies. The opposite holds for anime as more males love/follow it than females do. So, it is not surprising our women love K-drama to the extent they grasped the language and moved to Korea. One on Twitter learnt Korean and is now a translator because of her love for K-drama without being to Korea (as at the time she stated so). Passion when invested with sheer hard work and determination would result in something positive.

As for languages to learn, if it is for hobby purposes, Japanese is okay. For economic reasons, Chinese is way better. French, to me, is a useless language to learn as the only wealthy Francophone country is France, unlike the wealthy enclaves of Anglophones and Chinese. Spanish enclaves are even wealthier than their French counterparts. The language is that useless. Also with Chinese, learning and grasping the Kanjis in Japanese becomes very easy. Chinese have it easier to learn Japanese than any other group of people.
