There are a lot of conservatives in this thread who seem determined to perpetuate a perspective, at times a sexist and misogynist one. Facts and common-sense be damned.
This post for example.
Typical rebuttal when presented with a coherent statement. I have stated it, I provided links from liberal-leaning media houses. You are not more liberal than the Economist Magazine or BBC. I am suspicious of black people who claim to be liberal as black people are generally conservative in every part of the world.

The gender pay does not exist. Period! Facts don't have to care about your lovey-dovey feelings! If the pay gap exists, employ ONLY women and pay them big big money. BLord in Nigeria does it. The free market permits it. Our resident Math Field Medalist who predicted the victory of Lamar Harrisong
TravelRe: Why The Nigerian Elites Are Worried About The JAPA Phenomenon by Gerrard59(m): 3:17am On Dec 11, 2024
We have them on Nairaland where they are cock proud of their British and Canadian citizenship from birth BUT vehemently kick against other Nigerians doing the same. They mention the possession of these passports but would oppose another person who celebrates having attained naturalisation status. It is a terrible form of witchcraft as I see no reason why someone who has an American passport for him and his family would oppose another person who decides to relocate to the UK.

From your narration, one can clearly see that the black man has a fundamental problem in ensuring everyone gets a piece of the pie on merit. He would squander everything and leave peanuts for everyone else. It is not a white man's issue as one might or usually thinks - it is a black man's problem. Then, how do we expect these same people to develop their societies? The other day, a Nairalander described how a former Lagos governor visited hospitals in the UK for medical treatment and how two LGA chairmen moved their families to the same UK fully catered for in terms of houses and cars. Meanwhile, a few weeks ago, the same former governor criticised Nigerian youths for japa just as a senior official in Tinubu's administration did the same, yet his son studied at Eton College, went to Cambridge and currently lives in the UK. What about Obiano who could not construct pedestrian walkways anywhere in Anambra only to resort to jogging in a residential neighbourhood in the US a few weeks after office?

All Nigerian elites are the same. None differs from the other. Believe them at your detriment.

As I have stated:

Gerrard59:
Anyone who does not know this is a profound ignoramus, no ifs or buts. Those who know it but intentionally dissuade or discourage others from doing it are wicked and barbaric. There are many of them here, from Red.sun (who has been in the UK for donkey years) to Sukk.ot (who is a British citizen) to 1Sh.aron (another British citizen) to my favourite - Dasparrow - a woman who loathes Nigerians and in particular Nigerian men. Hers is even crueller as she relocated from the west to Nigeria, hated what she experienced and fled to a no-name country in Central America. What does she do on Nairaland? Internet Witchcraft! She dissuades and tells young and ambitious Nigerians not to relocate abroad. What she does not say is that she has not let go of her European citizenship. Another one is EgunMo.gajji, who is an American citizen and a proud serial divorcee that stays somewhere in Ibadan and married a 20-something year lady. He constantly preaches that you should not bother having a second passport, but he has one and even his first daughter studies at Stanford as an American citizen. What about Nairaland's richest brostitute? Seatra.de, who with his previous moniker, mocked diasporans only for him to create a thread disguising that his friend wants to know how to obtain American citizenship. https://www.nairaland.com/6742025/citizenship-investment-canada-usa#105611566 No wonder he is lurking around Covenant University or Babcock to grab a girl from an upper-middle-class family (hoping that she is a dual citizen), even though his character befits women from IMSU or Oko Polytechnic.

Additionally, THERE IS NO NIGERIAN ELITE WHO DOES NOT HAVE A SECOND CITIZENSHIP OR CHILDREN ARE PREPPED TO OBTAIN ONE Apart from skit makers who are new in the game, no notable comedian's wife birthed in Nigeria. ALL gave birth in the US, thereby making their children Americans. The same applies to musicians. It is the reason I am pissed when wicked misfits constantly vagabond this section opening their smelly mouth waaaaaa chanting that young people should not japa. You mean like Akin Alabi who hustled in the UK? Don Jazzy, who did the same? DBanj, whose dad is an ex-military officer that did the same? Mike Adenuga, who rode taxi in the US? What about Banky W whose mom worked in ExxonMobil, gave birth to him in the US and he studied at Corona Schools, the same school Osibanjo studied? Only for him to come and lie that his parents struggled, which is why they rented a flat in Yaba during the '70s. You mean the same Yaba that was home to the then middle class? shocked Or him being a Nigerian-American married to Adesuwa, a British-Nigerian? Or his friend, the pilot, a Canadian-Nigerian who is married to Toolz, daughter of the Oniru of Lekki, who is a British-Nigerian? Or her friend Stephanie Coker, a British-Nigerian, who is married to the younger brother of the co-founder of GTB, who too is a British-Nigerian? Or Mo Abudu who is a American/British-Nigerian and son studied at Duke University? Or her erstwhile employee presenter Zainab Balogun, another British-Nigerian who married an American-Nigerian? Or the other erstwhile employee I used to crush on - Cynthia Kamalu, who married a Nigerian-American? Or Iyin Aboyeji, whose wife is an American citizen, and father worked at ExxonMobil and whose sister studied in the UK? Or Hakeem-Bello, whose daughter studied at Harvard and Stanford and ALL members of his family are dual nationals between the UK and US? Or Nnamdi Kanu who is a British-Nigerian? Or Sunday Igboho who is a German citizen or Sowore who is an American citizen?

C'mon!

There is no Nigerian elite, dead or alive, that does not or did not have a second passport to ease travel whether for leisure or business or academic-related events. I have stated it recently that visa free access is hinged on wealth not race. The reason the olodos on Twitter think it is race is that sub-Saharan Africa is home to the largest number of black people, and as a result, many black Africans are denied visas. Even at that, citizens from countries like Namibia, Botswana, South Africa and even far-flung black-dominated places like Bahamas, Bermuda and Barbados don't face similar scrutiny as their contemporaries in sub-Saharan Africa. Have you seen African Americans complained that they were denied visas because of their skin colour? Are they not black people too? But woke olodos on Twitter don't understand simple economics, the reason they spend time chanting and whining that bOrDeRs ArE rAcIsT. As if they would offer unfettered access to a poor black stranger instead of Elon Musk. Except you want to have hope that sub-Saharan countries would be as rich as Malaysia before her citizens begin to enjoy visa-free travel.

As for returning to Nigeria, trust me, many would return. One reason many would return is the weather. The new wave of emigres lived in the tropics for at least 25 years, so it won't be easy to adjust to temperate climates. My friend in Canada complains about the same thing. She told me clearly "once I attain citizenship status and the passport, G59, I am out of this place". Again, the vast majority of Nigerian elites once worked or studied abroad. From Tayo who is Paga CEO (has American citizenship) to Segun Agbaje who also studied and worked in the US to Emi Lokan and many many others. What about Okechukwu Enelamah who studied Medicine at UNN and did his MBA at Harvard? He co-founded African Capital Alliance, Nigeria's first private equity firm. Ibe Kachikwu nko? Studied Law at UNN and went to Harvard for his MSc and PhD? There is even one I used to admire who studied at Cambridge University and started his consulting business in Lagos. He, too, just like his contemporaries, is a British-Nigerian. One might say Northern elites don't do the same. That is a very big fat lie! Which child of any Northern elite studied in Nigeria? Sanusi's children studied in the UK ditto for El-Rufai's. What about Buhari? He claimed to be poor before the 2015 elections. However, ALL his children studied in the UK. Do poor people's children study in the UK? Esp when they did not attend top schools that have lot of scholarships to offer? Let's not even go to the south, where Amaechi's son is in Canada or Okorocha's son who finished from University of Manchester?

The effects of having a second and, most importantly, a strong passport cannot be over-emphasised. To buttress it, before 2010, Nigerians could travel to 76 countries without obtaining a visa. Ten years later, it plunged to 46. What do the next ten years hold? DrCheif on Twitter narrated his experience when he visited one African country. Upon the usual show me your passport, he showed the official a Nigerian passport. Even though it is visa-free for Nigerians (e fit don change sef), the official dilly-dallied. As time was going, Cheif brought out his American passport and showed the official. What did the official say? "You should have brought this out in the first place". Today, Cheif stays in Ghana. I have met a Belgian-Swiss missionary who has only applied for visa once and that was when she visited Benin Republic. She was confused about how to apply for a visa because prior to that, she had never done it. Also, the woman who owned the travel agency I bought my ticket through has travelled to over 80 countries, including places where black people are very few. Her parents migrated to study in the US, gave birth to her and siblings and returned to Nigeria. Today, all her siblings are American citizens and ditto their children. But she stays in Nigeria because she likes it there. No harm feelings. However, unlike the witches and wizards here, she encourages young people to do the same and take advantage of the opportunities. In life, always seek for more options as those with options have more opportunities. There are even foreign politicians that are tri-nationals.

Also, the aspect of entrepreneurship sef. Except for very few folks who are mostly in tech (most studied in top schools or had rich backgrounds), the most successful entrepreneurs started their businesses after working for some years. It is only in Nigeria I have read that young graduates should start their businesses even if it is POS or cyber-cafe or selling 1kg of gas. Elsewhere, young people work in companies (co)-founded by people who have worked and honed their skills elsewhere. That is how it is done. While there, you gain expertise, knowledge and network. You can decide to return to Nigeria, nobody will stop you. The Paga CEO did it after studying at two top universities, the most recent being Stanford for his MBA. PayStack folks worked for almost ten years before setting up theirs. But the online miscreants in the programming section believe anyone who knows how to type "Hello Word" should open a tech firm to create the next fAcEbOoK. Bloody olodos! Nevertheless, very few people will become entrepreneurs as there are more employees everywhere than employers, regardless of what the ignoramuses who learnt elementary economics by standing near the windows during their SS1-SS3 stages parrot. So, in the nearest future, many of your bosses will be those who did Express Entry or submitted Proof of Funds.

I think you are completely missing the point of gender pay equality.

No one here is arguing that, say a teacher, be paid the same as "drilling oil in the middle of nowhere", regardless of gender, but that if a woman is "drilling oil in the middle of nowhere", she should be paid the same as men who are "drilling oil in the middle of nowhere".

And women should not be barred from "drilling oil in the middle of nowhere", because there is no evidence that women can not drill oil in the middle of nowhere. Women in the army has shown how competent we are, but I'm certain someone will throw some selected right wing at me to try to show otherwise.
No one has barred women, but women themselves chose not to work in the rig in the middle of nowhere. I stated that policymakers in Nordic countries were stunned to realise that their women INTENTIONALLY declined to work in industries that have tougher conditions, harsher weather situations but have higher salaries. Are you saying women don't have the free will to make the right decisions for themselves? We have fewer women choosing to study physics or mathematics, so how would companies suddenly employ women enmass when the pipeline isn't abundant with women? Do companies have to forge women out of thin air just to fulfil gender parity policies?

No company pays less to anyone who decides to work in the middle of nowhere. However, someone who goes on more leaves per year and works fewer hours would most likely be paid less than a colleague who takes fewer or no leaves per annum and works longer hours. That is basic capitalism. If women are paid less than men to work in rigs, why are companies not employing only women? Wouldn't this reduce their labour costs? Why would a profit-oriented company miss the golden opportunity to reduce costs in a bid to increase profits?

The gender pay gap does not exist. It is a terrible and disgusting lie that has gone too far. Expectedly, it does not get traction on Twitter any longer. So why are educated Nairalanders peddling this lie in big 2024?

One common explanation is that women are more likely than men to choose public sector careers. This contributes to the pay gap (public sector jobs tend to pay less) and limits the pool of female talent available for top private sector roles. But the reasons women tend to pick these careers remain up for debate. Last year, researchers in the US and UK found that countries with an existing culture of gender equality have an even smaller proportion of women taking degrees in science, technology and mathematics (STEM).

“It is a paradox … nobody would have expected this to be the reality of our time,” says Professor Gijsbert Stoet, one of the report’s authors.

He argues that since Nordic countries have a generally high standard of living and strong welfare states, young women are free to pick careers based on their own interests, which he says are often more likely to include working in care-giving roles or with languages. By contrast, high achievers in less stable economies might choose STEM careers based on the income and security they provide, even if they prefer other areas.

Are you sure? How much harder does a company‘s CEO work than the average worker to earn up to 300 times more? How much does the Shell company CEO make compared to those who do the drilling? Are workers compensated for the value they produce? Pulease! Don’t get me even started.
If the company fails, the CEO gets the boot. Anyone who wants to become a CEO should work for it or start your own company. Again, you see - freedom to choose. If you don't like how much you earn, change jobs, study quantitative courses, start a business challenging the dominant company.

Why stop at oil companies? Do teachers earn the same as principals? Do level 1 doctors earn the same as CMDs? Do entry-level accountants earn the same as chartered accountants with years of experience? Why do you want to reap where you have not sowed?

There is Onne Port and I agree that politics has made Bomadi, Warri, the proposed Ibom Deep Seaport and Calabar Port to be moribund or nonexistent. Thanks for contributing to the discussion. The evidence is overwhelming that women earn less due to objective factors. Notice her list of grievances against Republicans or conservatives includes BOTH maternity leave AND equal pay. 🤔 The simultaneous demand for BOTH rights completely contradicts any declared objectivity.

I have family and friends who have been in the oil & gas industry in Nigeria. I've learned a lot about the industry from them. Field engineers tend to earn more than office based engineers. Whenever the opportunity arises, the women tend to CHOOSE office based roles over field roles. Why? Field jobs are dirty and dangerous. As multiple women in the industry have generally said in my presence..."field engineers have dark skin because they're always in the sun and covered with grease, mud and dirt".
You know, that is the beauty of capitalism and the right to choose. Capitalism rewards hard work and dire risk. It is risky to be drilling oil in the middle of nowhere for a short time away from loved ones. So those who choose this option are well rewarded. A reason many men opt for it is that they are providers and women being hypergamous species gravitate towards men who can provide. As a result, men take up riskier jobs, work longer hours, study for too long, write the most qualifying examinations, opt for harder programs, and apply to lucrative companies/industries more than women do EVEN when there are equal and in some cases favouritism for women. It showed in Nordic countries. So, why would someone in 2024 parrot the claim that there is a gender pay gap? Big Fat Lie!

That is the common thing with Internet feminists: they disregard basic economics and biology.

You mentioned somewhere you knew these things as far back as 15 years ago? Wow, it's more recent for me, at least as conscious knowledge. Sometimes one can sense it without knowing.
As far back as 2014 sef, so ten years. I used to read feminists whine about the pay gap, but the math wasn't matching because the most lucrative industries had fewer women as they chose fewer quantitative courses/programs than men. Men worked longer hours. Even in teaching where women populate, men earn higher because again, they work longer hours, organise tutorial classes and take up the most lucrative subjects - mathematics, physics and chemistry. No one would pay for extra-tutorial classes to grasp English or Commerce, but they willingly and gladly do so for mathematics and physics. Who constitutes the majority of teachers of these subjects? Men. It is everywhere from Japan to Jamaica and Senegal to Singapore.

If a woman wants to earn as equal as a man: she should not have children. Boom! She would earn as equal as a man. Last I checked, women don't need to have children. They can have a billion cats as replacements.

Women take up longer hours and earn exactly what men earn as long as women are employed in that line of work.
Where do you live?
The only thing you can say is when they're is an opportunity to grow, men are mostly considered cos of motherhood except women whose kids are no longer dependent on them.
Also a mother can afford to chose staying closer to her kids than career development and expansion. Aside this, women and men earn the same where I live except in sports and news media.
That is the Motherhood penalty and it is the major reason lesbians outearn married women. This link: https://www.economist.com/graphic-detail/2024/03/07/where-is-the-motherhood-penalty-greatest shows studies across countries, developed and developing. Women leave the workforce in some countries and in others, they take up low-paying roles. If women earned less than men, almost all lucrative industries would employ women so they pay low salaries. Capitalism isn't interested in gender politics, but in the bottom line. But how would lucrative industries even employ only women when more men take up quantitative courses/programs than women? Why Quantitative programs? They lead to higher earnings in every part of the world and their industries are largely uniform and less regulated by national laws regarding employment. In fact, in the Nordic examples, policymakers were surprised why women INTENTIONALLY chose low paying industries even with gender equal laws.

Any young lady who studies Mathematics, excels at it, gets into the workforce, declines to marry or have children, and works long hours as the male folks do would earn equally as them (male folks). It is a straightforward line.

Feminism of old is good. Women were treated like property. They fought, protested. Eg, in uk,women do not vote until one lady fought and took it to the street with other women. Unfortunately, she died before it was implemented. In BBC male anchors are paid more than female. These are what feminists should fight for.
Today, especially in usa, I don't know what feminism meant to them.
If feminism is fighting for a trans man to compete in an all female sports and use women toilet, that is not feminism but wokeism.
You would be accused of transphobia as the world is expected to disregard basic biology because of some sick ideology.

Most of the anti men feminist celebrities have one thing in common, failed relationships and marriages.
Misery loves company.

Fight for more maternity leave grant, pay, no dismissal cos you are pregnant, take a sick leave with pay cos your child is sick, company bending to your will cos your kid comes first eg, they book training during your day off when it's school run.
In most developed countries, those policies are abundantly present.

OK, no problem 😊

The objective facts are that

1) No two persons can have the exact same performance on the same job. It's impossible. That is actually why labour unions destroy
productivity.

2) Men and women soccer players do the exact same job but CUSTOMERS prefer the output produced by men. So it's LOGICAL that men are paid more than women in soccer

3) Male and female fashion models do the exact same jobs but CUSTOMERS prefer the end output produced by women. So it's LOGICAL that female fashion models are paid more than male fashion models.

Between men and women doing the same job in the same work place, women generally call out sick more than men. That's FACT that any work place manager knows. Men generally work more hours too on the same jobs.

Variance is an iron clad fact of human life. It exists even among siblings of the same sex who are all doing the exact same job. Anyone with even a rudimentary knowledge of biology knows that.

Caring, morals and such have NOTHING to do with hard data. Your post that I replied to made reference to conviction based on data. Variance in pay is justified by objective data and logic such as I've outlined above.

Good Luck to Nigerians.
You don finish work! I didn't see this before my earlier reply. The narrative behind gender pay gap has been thoroughly demystified. So I'm surprised to see anyone who is able to use the Internet spread the despicable lie. As far back as 2015, I knew it was was a lie. Almost ten years on, I'm reading it's a reality. If so, why are employers not deliberately employing women since they earn lower? A business aims to generate profits and labour costs is one of the highest expense any enterprise incur. So why are businesses not going all the way to employ ONLY women? Actual women o, not the LGTV mumbo-jumbo.

It's a terrible and disgusting lie that there is a gender pay gap. Also, there is nothing like equality. Humans cannot and aren't equal. Equality is a farce. The best is to promote equality of opportunities, not outcomes.

Anytime I see their sick ideology, I'm always shining my 42 when I remember that Donald Trump won, and did so resoundingly!

I’m talking about equal pay for the same job.
Not a female teacher excepting the same pay as a male neurosurgeon. I thought that was obvious.

Even when they are doing the same jobs, men get paid better. The “men negotiate better than women” argument is a cop out for refusing to address the fact that employers favor men over women.
That's not entirely true. Single women out earn married women and almost equal if not equal in most cases with married men. In some cases, they out earn single men. The obstacle to so-called parity with men in earnings is because of the motherhood tax/penalty

Even in Nordic countries, the headquarters of feminism and gender equality, men outearn women largely because men take up more harder jobs - which are usually highly lucrative, e.g oil rigs - and work longer hours - overtime pay. This is because of hypergamy as women desire men who outearn them.

This singular gender pay inequality was the reason I reasoned that feminism is one of greatest scam to have been birthed and opted out of the ideology.

If you want to earn as equal as a man doing the same job: take up longer hours, study quantitative courses, don't have children and boom! You will earn as equal as a man. Lesbians do so. See evidence: "What’s behind the lesbian pay premium?" - Financial Times.

There is nothing like gender pay gap. It's a terrible lie that has gone too far.

The summary is that only Tinubu can stop himself as he would rather die than lose the election.

Tinubu is going nowhere.

The major reason I don't post on Facebook is billing. I don't believe anybody would attack me spiritually. At best, I don't want any member of my family kidnapped.

I have a friend who has digital footprint dating back to when she was 14 sef. Now that I am older, I envy her. Because she has lots of memories and she is replicating same for her kids.
And see, some people are just living their lives like you are living yours. They are not trying to impress you. You are not that important. So get rid of that mentality of, they are showing off to you. Nigerians just hate to see good things. If they see a happy couple, they start attacking. But when they see the ones breaking each other's head, they would engage with 5000 comments.
The bold is true. Apart from following the person, unless closely related, how does someone travel destinations affect one's life? Me, I look forward to such as I make plans to experience the same, if I am interested. I love seeing people enjoy themselves as they worked hard for it. Anyone who develops bad belle because of such does him/herself more harm than good.

Way back the Travel section was rich with travel pictures and experiences. Do you still see that in 2024? All we have is, "Which country can I enter with 1.2m?"
grin

IMO, four reasons:

- The recent set of japarians haven't settled well in terms of finance and residency to indulge in such.
- The previous/older set that showed pictures have gotten older, and wish such, life gets busier
- COVID disrupted travel.
- Bad belle full Nairaland. This point reminds me of the lass who got so much vitriol when she posted her trips across Nigeria. I was shocked to the bones. She was called all sorts of names from the regular ashawo to lesbian. Well, as a follower of good life, I followed her on IG and today, the "ashawo" is married to a medical doctor and they have a child.

I love people that post with discretion. Whether poor, middle class or rich, I like all posts and engage them.
GBAM!

I post for fun and also for validation.

I stopped because I don't get the validation and it makes me feel bad. My former mates from university, secondary school still get hundreds of thousands of likes, but I get very few. Maybe six, maybe ten. I got tired of the disappointment, so that's one reason I got discouraged from posting.

Number two, the fear of spiritual attacks. I have a picture of my little boy on Facebook but I'm going to remove it soon.
uld still be posting myself in my modest settings and life? Sitting by the wall, or at a small restaurant, or by my window in my house? They just remind me of luxury that I'm not living, successes that I haven't achieved, worst of all little to no likes or attention for my own. Is it not better to not post than to be buying myself depression with each post? I don't even branch Instagram much again, for my personal sanity.
I find your post very interesting and honest. It is something many people struggle with, especially as how they envisaged life never came to fruition. There are ways to mitigate the worry. One such is acknowledging that there are people bigger than us just as we are bigger than others. The goal is to live a fulfilled life on your terms, not on others. So a friend who travels to Japan did so because she could afford it. If you can travel to Ghana or Kenya for tourism, good as well. A way to achieve this is to play to your strengths. Once you play to your strengths, you become very good at it and achieve the best you want in life. There are many ways to kill the rat, the koko is that the rat is dead. Also, understand where you are coming from and where you are now. You have done well. In life, one cannot always have it all. You win some and lose some. But be proud of your winnings.

Additionally, be genuinely happy for other people who post their winnings as they show that anyone could achieve them. I believe life na turn by turn provided one works for it with a bit of luck here and there. I had mates and contemporaries who moved to study abroad with generous scholarships and worked in multinational corporations. I was happy for them and knew I wanted the same. But the route does not have to be the same. I charted my course, and today, I am glad I achieved the same as they did. Few years difference between theirs and mine. The koko is to play to your strengths, be grateful and contented. Yes, you can always and will always get more, but be happy for what you have now while you strive for more.

As for your "friend" who posts pictures as a counterpose, if possible, silence her posts or delete contact. Alternatively, bar her from viewing your posts. This race of life, na only one person dey run am.

A messed up Syria is good for the Israeli government because Iraq is gone, Lebanon is gone, Jordan is a vassal country and the only country causing them headaches is Syria which used to have a government before because Iran is using that Syria's land for weapons transfer.
Modified they already fighting over who is in control

It is also good for the West, as they are now confident there is no challenger to Israel. Something tells me Qatar sold off Hamas and Hezbollah for future protection and goodies. A few weeks after Hamas and Hezbollah's leadership were ousted by various means, some of which come across to me as insider information, Qatar became the first Arab and Muslim nation to be accorded the Visa Waiver Program by the US. Recently, the Emir got a welcome reception from King Charles.

As Israel is safe and good, the Middle East crises for Western governments have been solved for good. The next issue is Ukraine/Russia, which now looks solvable. Once that is done, the shift is towards China and the greater East. Should the China problem be tackled for good, the white man maintains his dominance for another millennium.

Minimum 1, maximum 2. Afterwards, vasectomy. I am not a fan of having many children. They are expensive to raise. I did not come into this world to raise children.

No be government do this one o. Na average citizen.

Sometimes I find it hard to pity the average Nigerian because I know that if they find themselves in positions of power, they will do the same as the leaders they hate.

How wickedness and being mago mago comes easily for Nigerians still dey shock me. Life is easy when you are just good (not nice) and straight forward. Na wa
My recent experience left a bitter taste in my tongue because I wondered why someone could not just be straightforward and honest. I don't want to be your friend or date you—just be honest and straightforward. Honestly, sometimes, I wonder if I was born and bred in Nigeria and went to public schools.

Beware of folks that want you to just trust them automatically. They already hatched evil plans that will be implemented easily if you trust and loose guard. Humans are not generally good people.
How does this reconcile if the said person is trustworthy or considers himself to be of high integrity? For instance, in Japan, it is expected that the average Japanese is honest. How do you reconcile both?

duhhhh its white mans land. the only power bloc is white
Sometimes, I think Mr RodgersAkpafu does not want to believe that white people are powerful or could suddenly revert to their pre-civil rights behaviour. He still has this view that the white man is all loving even though his (white man) birth rate has dropped rapidly. Thus, making him a further minority in a world soon to be filled with Indians and Black people.

In my opinion, we would see a resurgence of white power under Trump's administration. I recall when I stated on NL that in this new Cold War with China, the US, citizens and its elites would want to have a white man, not a woman or biracial, fight the Chinese in a final quest to establish world dominance.

quite aptly put except the part where you said all the west has to offer is you will just be wealthy. Maybe in America but there is no wealth in Europe or Canada. Where do you see the wealth ? Even their prime ministers salary is not considered wealthy. Someone like kemi badenock who is leader of conservatives will be on like 150k a year and higher tax bracket they take half of it so she has like 80 k take home. When they take council tax and rent and other bills she is just as poor as the masses and this is the head of one of their parties. So which wealth do you speak of ? The wealthy diasporas are in America. Europe ? Na sapa levels oooo. There is no wealth anywhere. It’s subsistence living 😄😄
True. As I have known and stated here, the wealthiest set of Nigerian diasporans are those in the US. To be fair to Kemi, politicians are not well paid in the West or most places. They build wealth via donations and kick-backs. Singapore is the only developed place that pays its politicians and civil servants very high salaries.

This is a very interesting perspective
I'll reference the Pakistanis here again, to make an addition to what you have posted....From my observations and being in their midst, they have cracked the code by building their own stuff and their own communities. As a Pakistani Brit, you can from birth till death not have to deal with the "white supremacist" society in Birmingham for example . You went to school staffed with Pakistanis like yourself (they have Islamic faith based schools here). Your landlord is a Pakistani like yourself You worship at the Central mosque with your ilk your employer is either your dad., your own business, or another business just along the city centre.... They have chartered accounting firms. law firms and the list goes on. you don't have to seek the white man approval to get a job....You have a thriving community of friends
Why will you need to "beg" the white man for friendship My Paki friends have been good to me, and it's all good. the only issue is that I can't live permanently with them So having built this ecosystem, how will your self esteem be in the gutter ?
You even influence the politics of the area your reps look like you This election cycle, they were able to present independents Muslims who unsat Tories AND Labour candidates So why will you have self esteem issues?

the real issue with black Africans are
1. we don't love each other and don't wanna build a community
we are very jaga jaga ppl

2. We don't even love ourselves or think of ourselves of people worth value

3. We have failed to build our community because of "I better pass my neighbour mentality"

4. Inferiority Complex , due to brutal colonisation. Our dignity has been beaten out of us...I think this is the luck Pakistanis have they were not enslaved and beaten to the extent that we were 5. Our home countries are shittholes

When you become wealthy as a black man in Britan, you are on your own because on one hand, you have jealous people of your ilk who will Destroy you for free, and on the other hand, (some) white supremacist who believe you are in a space where you shouldn't be. To reference BET Co owner Sheila Johnson, its really lonely being a black billionaire at the top (she is a billionaire and feels lonely for the exact reasons I listed up there )

@Gerrar.d59
Pansophist really made good points, and I realised them when I lived here unlike when I was disagreeing with him while I was still in Nigeria.

The Pakistanis have done well, but I am curious at the bold, Indians didn't experience what we did? They were indentured workers even to Guyana. I think we and Indians are the ones who love the Anglophones regardless of historical events. Whether the posts on social media by a growing number of Indians challenging the West indicate a change is yet to be seen.

P.S. The BET woman is biracial. A better perspective will be from Robert Smith. Both even have it better as they are in the US (12% black). What about those in East Asia and Northern Europe like Pansophist?

They were the ones who divided the Nigerian defence against the backlash from South Africans during the Chidimma debacle. SAns noticed it but remained on course - labelling Nigerian as the same. But yeah, an active South African on TwitterNG knows the tribal divide in Nigeria and I bet they love it.

It is one of the many reasons I don't raise eyebrows when foreigners lambast Nigerians. I am so indifferent.
