It's an article written and published by the Punch Newspapers. So why do some readers believe it's OP's work?

That said, selling sex is a business and these girls do it so well. I'm proud of them. As I've stated, Nigerian men or most men in general are sex starved. So why not cater to their sexual needs? This is way better than stealing. It's a global practice that has minimal government interference. The girl in question isn't the first, and won't be the last. Welcome to capitalism and the free market.

I didn't see it coming as I used the money to help my friend working there as a RM to build his cabal. I was initially mad with him that he did not tell me that the bank was sinking but he expressed that everything came as a shock. Good luck in your quest.

Why do I sense envy or bitterness in this your post below?

Of course It is very possible, stop being myopic, what makes you think what you heard or read are not exaggerated? Besides, its illogical to generalise based on few tales you hear or read, there are different strokes for different folks. I know someone who came here and within a few months got a high paying job and i know someone that took more than 2 years to get an executive level position after huzzling for more than a year. I equally know a 62 year old man who came here for semi retirement, registered for the US CPA exam, passed and currently practicing into his late 60s. This was someone who had retired in Nigeria and given up. Different strokes! Learn to be open minded. That some found it difficult does not mean everyone must find difficult, even though it can be generally inferred that living in the saner climes is a huge upgrade compared to what obtains in Nigeria.

Where I am, you only need 5% downpaymet and a job confirmation for a 30 year mortgage( at 1.5%) and just an offer letter to lease a brand new car. Lots of prudent Nigerians tgat have been here for some time and have steady jobs are even on their second mortgages now, building their dreams. Dont be surpised that the money for that mortgage came from looted commonwealth that your leaders took from you and stashed overseas for safekeeping on your behalf while you languish in poverty, chaos and envy. I can tell you for free, if that guy had remained in Nigeria, he might never had dreamt of entering a brand new car in his whole life talkmore of owning it or even dreaming of owning a house in his village. Go to the ministries in Nigeria and see mid level civil servants that are still dreaming of buying land in Nigeria after nearly 15 years of toiling. They would give an arm and a leg to even have access to mortgage and here you are bantering someone that achieved that within 3 yesrs in a saner clime

To tell you how useless your leaders have made you, i read a report recently where it was stated that much of the funds in the Swiss banking system betweem 1980 amd 2000 came from Africa(most probably looted funds, a la Sani Abacha). Those money helped them to give their citizens and residents mortgages of 0.5% for them to flourish and live their dreams while you, the owner of these wealth stolen by your leaders are busy fighting yourselves on which of the looters is a better dancer and whose turn is it to steal you blind and impoverish you more.

Have you wondered why your political class travel 2 to 3 times annually for medical check up at the slightest feeling of headache while they tell you to patronise the teaching hospitals that have become "teaching mortuaries". I see them here every now and then, even one former Governor of Lagos state who recently advised youths to remain in Nigeria was here in August for a routine check up likely sponsored using Lagos state tax payers funds(picture those market women who pay stall toll as taxes daily, being the taxpayers, and the poor civil servants whose taxes are deducted at source as the manage in penury while one person/looter enjoys it freely). I know of two local government Chairmen in Lagos state alone that moved their families abroad permanently in 2024, with houses and cars bought for them ahead of their arrival. They are not stupid, they know what is good too.

Dont look for a way to get out to a saner clime and better your future generation, continue to blab about other countries that are creating conducive environment to attract your best brains.
Wow! Thanks for the bold. It feels so surreal to read it on Nairaland as opposed to reading the same in the papers. Apparently, Nigerian elites are doing what I have always noted them to do. So, why do their defenders like @MT and Co lampoon Nigerians who are angry after seeing how life is in the abroad? Why wish and hope that these Nigerians don't attain permanent residency or naturalisation status?

Here we have a Nigerian elite who spends his time undergoing medical checkups in the same UK people criticise. How many Chinese elites do the same? Sometimes, I think Tensa20 is too harsh on Africa, but things like this make me think he is right. How would a political elite - serving politician - relocate his entire family to the abroad? That means he has lost hope in the country he is a part of the governing system.

Again, thanks Mr Blaze.

It's 100 times better than what Africa has to offer at this point.Let's be frank with ourselves.House is on mortgage, that's normal, so what? It's common sense Why tie huge sums of money when you can spread the payment. That's why Nigeria is littered with poor landlords. They have spent a huge sum of their disposable income on sub par houses. Car is on credit...Says who ? you can get a decent car for £2300 quid and it takes less than six months of work to save this to buy upfront theb you know it's you and insurance that will be dealing with each other

Again, it's much better than any life any country in Africa has to offer at the moment
To be fair, South Africa and a few Southern African countries have such facilities for qualified persons. I am surprised I am the one defending Africa here. grin

Forget this. Nigerians are too loud. The house is on mortgage, the car is on credit. He will not tell you how many shifts he's working to make up. He might presently be bothered that his papers are about to expire. He might be thinking of the route to use. With his masters degree he might end up accepting sponsorship from a care home. This means that that's what he will do for the next five years.

This means bye bye to a career in engineering for example that he made 2.1 plus masters degree. If he decides to avoid using this route he might have to go for a PhD. This means that he has to face payment of tuition for another three years and back to 20 hours per week menial job for the duration of his studies. UK PhD is not beans particularly in stem. Many start but don't finish.

I'm not saying that there are no advantages after all the family invested life time savings. There should therefore be returns. But it not the way some of them come online to paint it.
Are there no fully funded PhD positions for international students in UK universities?

Anyone paying for a PhD program in any developed country has made a very terrible decision..

Hello, Nairalanders. Good morning, I’m going to be short.

I stay in Ondo and I just finished my youth service and currently, I’m staying with long time friend(We’re splitting the rent) till we are able to find our way. Something happened last week Friday that has brought a little misunderstanding (We don’t flow like before) and I want your opinion.

Okay, so I went to my work, I work from 8-5, sometimes 6 and that day, my girlfriend called me and said she was around the house and and he didn’t see anything wrong with it and insisted that I didn’t like it and he shouldn’t do it next time, because I found it a bit disrespectful to myself and my girlfriend. Since then, he hasn’t been so cool, we talk but not like before. Did I overreact? Do you think it’s okay or wrong for my roommate to tell my girlfriend to sweep the room?

NB; I do not tell my girlfriend to sweep the room when my roommate is around, so it doesn’t bring “see finish “ so, she’s never swept in his presence before, but she does it when he’s not around.

Also, he has his girlfriend that comes to the house too and I have never told her to do anything like that before. So, what do you guys think?
To me, this is where the problem comes from - you don't treat his GF as he treated yours. The best way to prevent this would have been a binding agreement that nobody brings a GF to the apartment. I prefer this - only those who pay for the rent should live there. Alternatively, get your apartment.

Abeg, carry your matter comot here. She’s not your wife. She’ll leave you soon for reasons best known to her. With her gone, every experience you guys shared will become shit flushed down a toilet.

If she was your wife, I’d tell you to split the guy’s lip with your fist. This is a girlfriend. I’ll tell you to not waste your breath. You’ve done the best to your power. Let it go. At least the house was neat — it benefitted both of you. Her also.
That strength should have been used to rent an apartment all to yourself.

This situation reminds me of when we lived eight guys in one house. An idiot out of the group decided to bring a live-in girlfriend who turned a six-day stay into two years. The bingo littered the whole house when she was meant to stay in one room all day and night. All seven of us decided on a means to make her useful. If she couldn’t clean due to her upbringing then she’ll cook for all of us. It worked for a while until she packed her load and ran because she found cooking for eight men challenging. Her man couldn’t do anything because majority wins in such situation and the bitch wasn’t paying rent. We continued this arrangement until all our girlfriends had turns cooking for everybody. I learned many women know only how to apply makeup and nothing else.

TravelRe: Which Country Gives Permanent Residency The Fastest? by Gerrard59(m): 1:40pm On Nov 16, 2024
Number 1: The salary requirement is ridiculously high for foreign residents to earn before they are eligible to become permanent residents. Also, there are fewer jobs compared to nearby EU countries and they can be very discriminatory even amongst native Europeans let alone non-EEA/EU citizens. French and Dutch are mandatory to speak.

Number 4: By law, you are correct, but it is extremely hard these days let alone for Africans, Europeans, Americans, Japanese and Koreans. In order of ease: Malaysian Chinese, Indonesian Chinese, Taiwanese, Mainland Chinese including Hong Kongers, ethnic Malays, Indians then others. If you are not included in the first lists, na others be your category. That is the first hurdle. The other is your salary and visa category. Anything aside from an E pass makes you ineligible to apply for a PR. To get an E pass visa is extremely competitive and tough as the employer must prove to the Singaporean government that it could not find a suitable person (citizen or PR) for the job after it has been advertised for a minimum period of two weeks. In summary, nowadays, as a black person, attaining permanent residency in Singapore is extremely hard.

I am surprised you did not mention Australia and Canada whose pathways are relatively straightforward.

Ok... You seem very knowledgeable on Japanese travel.... How does someone like me apply?? Like working in their engineering sector....I have travel history though... But have always liked Japan..
The language is very important in getting good jobs. For a Japanese company to employ someone outside the country, especially a non-Chinese, Korean, or Vietnamese who resides outside the country, it means the person is good. For this reason, companies that do it are tech firms as they are willing to overlook the language deficiency in return for tech/coding knowledge (which would have been assessed during the recruitment process). For Americans and Europeans, they can get transferred to the Japanese office. Westerners who move here without a company transfer tend to be men who married Japanese women, worked in American military bases across the country or those who have a likeness/desire for Japan. This is where the English teaching route comes - a means to an end, but should never be the end as it is a glorified WAEC tutor role. The person is not a recognised teacher by any standard.

In summary, the best way to have companies employ a foreigner is to be in the country. There are very few companies that are willing to employ a foreigner who does not speak Japanese and is not supported by a company inter-transfer.

I see. Then his salary was not enough to warrant another visa and/or he could not get another high paying job/role with a higher salary band. The applicant can apply for a work visa by him/herself, but the employing organisation must provide the required documents. The issue is between him and his employer, not the Japanese government's policy.

The bold is because the financial requirements to issue a new work visa for a single person differs from a married person with a child.

Nice one. We were corpers then staying in a house provided by Winners Chapel Uyo. The Pastor was also staying with us in the house. One day we were robbed. Later the church told us to vacate as that place is meant for corp members just leaving the camp.
Bright came down from Lagos then, he wasnt a corp member but we accommodated him as he claims he had a symposium in University of Uyo Teaching Hospital. But he stayed with us for some time. When we were told to vacate, he told us he rented a 3 bedroom apartment, thats how he was seceretly collecting money from us about the aparment without each of us knowing, even from the pastor.
It was later we all got to know what happened by then he fled. He claimed he was working in the hospital but when we got there the hospital told us he wasnt employed. Infact there was a doubt if he is actually a medical doctor then. I know he studied Medicine but I doubt if he graduated as a medical doctor. The woman there then said she told him to bring his credentials for her to employ him but he couldn't provide any.

If you know him personally, ask him about his sojourn in Uyo. His girlfriend's name then was Faith.
This means any business venture or loan or any financial transaction he gets into WOULD be fraudulent. A leopard cannot change its spots.

My analysis when I worked in recruitment in Nigeria was that any graduate who could ace graduate aptitude tests would get a job within a year. Interviews can be learnt on the go, but not aptitude tests. That is where the wheat is separated from the shaft. Ace 8 out of 10 tests and a good job is possible.

Sadiqali24, your degree is even in Physics. Then math should not be your problem. Make sure you PUT IN ALL YOUR BEST in every aptitude test invite you get. Financial and professional service firms would be discriminatory towards your age, especially if you haven't done NYSC. So for that reason, I implore you target other sectors. Check out the results in California!!!! I can't believe it. I've read some places that California had a Red Wave by their rigged Democratic standards. Imagine....70% voted to increase penalties for retail theft and other crimes. Two extreme woke & liberal District Attorneys in Oakland & LA were RECALLED, not even regular election....recalled by voter initiative & petition!!!! Mayor of San Francisco lost to a more conservative candidate (by Cali standards). California as a state had the BIGGEST VOTING SHIFT toward Republicans in the entire nation!!!! Wow, wow, wow....this is great. I honestly was worried the American people had lost their will to preserve The Republic. There's much more work to be done, this is a good start. Good Luck to Nigerians.
You know one thing I despise about the Democratic Party and its supporters? Their arrogance to admit they are wrong. I have never seen a group of people who arrogantly and defiantly insist on their way or no other way. You and I have questioned Nigerians in the US who love the lovey-dovey party why do they condone criminals who steal from businesses? Their response? "Businesses have insurance". Meanwhile, the biggest victims are small businesses aka mom-and-pop shops.

Another is the clear lack of basic understanding of the economy. The Kamala of a woman (since there are over 1000 genders) stated there would be price controls to make housing affordable. But as you know Mr Ibe, there is nowhere in the world where price controls have worked in any capacity at all. But that is the person sane people are expected to vote for. Even their so-called "I have a PhD in Math voters" believe it would work. Good gracious lord!

Furthermore, these people hate men and the nuclear family. I have never seen a group of people who innately despise the male folks, belittle them, feminise them, adore effeminate men and the nuclear family. For one, I am an advocate of abortion, especially in dire cases, but I don't support rampant abuse of it. People, including women, should be responsible for their actions. There are a 1000 and 1 contraceptives to prevent pregnancy. If e hard, become celibate. Celibacy no dey kill person. How a group want abortion to be a topical issue when the economy is bad, inflation is rising and lots of people are entering the country which stagnates blue-collar jobs' salaries is ridiculous.

I am extremely glad they lost, and woefully at that. GOP is bad yen yen yen, but they amassed more votes across the country than they have ever done since the turn of the century. If that does not say something about the lovey-dovey party, I don't know what else would.
