I would have done the same and I have done same. Lateness triggers me. I have a friend that is always late and I stopped going anywhere with her. I cannot come to pick you up and you keep me waiting for 30mins. If you don't respect my time, you don't respect me. Even artisans, if I notice you don't keep to appointments, I will stop working with you.
So how do you cope when the events you attend (informal) commences later than scheduled?

Thanks so much for these words of advice. It's a wonderful contribution.

Punctuality is the sole of business, as they say.
Although, there may be some very few periods in our lives when we can't help but be late to appointments or meetings due to some unexpected or uncontrollable circumstances. But lateness shouldn't be a habit of ours.
Being punctual is a sign of being a responsible person. And countless doors of greatness have been opened just because of being punctual. It's a good way to get ahead of many others in life.
Yes.

The German did what I could do, especially in a society with abundant transport options. If na Lagos, one can understand, but a city where there are trains and trams, you came late? No. I no do again.

Shey you have seen what I talked about? Na you dey answer these people. The one I responded to, if not for the spam bot, he would have blocked me because I don't understand why someone will come to a 50+ thread without reading from the beginning to know how far.

To show how unserious the person you replied to is, read here:
I don't know how to go about the process, starting from the schools to apply, the requirements from Nigerians, the visa application process, the funds required for the whole process, etc.
Anyone who had read the last ten pages would not ask about the bold, but innately indolent people do so, and unfortunately, do so for a living!

It depends on your residential environment and places you frequent most for work or leisure.join a reputable gym and find guys who look far better than you imagined.
That is an anecdotal way of analysing topics. A gym is not an accurate representation of handsome men in a state or city. A Facebook group where young people mingle, a marketplace, a bank, a church, a school, etc., are better spots to capture the faces and body structures of men from all walks of life in a certain age bracket, not a gym or leisure spot. A gym is a curated spot, not an accurate spot, to find good-looking men.

I don't know where Nigeria gets all these handsome men from to represent them at international pageants. I definitely don't see many handsome men on our streets. Rather, our spaces are vastly populated with hexagonal headed, granite faced Nigerian men with red eyes and every redder temperaments. These handsome men are very rare in the country.
grin grin grin

when I talk this thing, dem say I be simp.

Well, from a recent conversation I had on NL, I have come to understand that physically attractive and handsome men aren't common in all societies. Ours is more peculiar due to our diets, lack of physical exercise, polluted air and water, contaminated products we eat and drink, general stress of life (insecurity and putting pressure on oneself) and the catastrophic economic destruction within a decade.

dly.

The Royal Father trying calling the government’s attention to the dirty lifestyle of Mandy Kiss. Yet, instead of reflecting, some people here are asking, What concerns him?
You all need to wake up and use social life in a way that will not bring tension and moral decay to our nation in years to come. Most especially, we must always stand against immorality.
It is a slippery slope. Tomorrow, he can request the governor arrest someone for saying something that sounds immoral but offensive. You don't just arrest people like that. This Sharia you people want, one day, you will get it.

Most of us don't that the huge belly fat is a disease. We should stop encouraging unhealthy lifestyle that often results to diseases like obesity, visceral fat, High BP, heart failure, stroke etc. Most Nigerians above the age of 25 have big belly. The women try hard to have tight wears to cover it up.lt is often visible with the men.Another awkward looks is the skinny fat people.Slim body but huge visceral fat.We must all thrive to be healthy. There are no excuses.
This is the koko. Our foods, at least those in southern Nigeria, encourage fat. So, why are people livid about her body size? The Nigerian environment does not encourage walking and jogging. It is a recent gym culture that has kicked off. How many persons jog regularly, let alone consistently? Wey the roads to even jog in peace and not in pieces? We eat large portions and don't consume ginger and garlic regularly.

Too bad she is not a nursing mother or hasn't birthed (correct me if I am wrong), but her body shape is no different from that of the average Nigerian woman out there.

Very handsome or physically attractive men also enjoy an advantage in the sexual or mating market. When women reach a certain level of financial security they start putting more emphasis on male looks. The statistics have been crunched, dating apps have made everything clear.
In a society like Nigeria, how many men are physically attractive? It is good that you used the phrase "physically attractive" rather than just handsome. Also, in the same Nigeria, how many women are willing to marry men who might be facially handsome but financially incapable and be the major provider, notwithstanding the cultural intricacies?

It's not a woman's world, it a world of the wealthy & physically attractive. On a composite where [wealth + good looks} = 20, those with a score of 18 are the champions of the sex market. It's not theory, it's real. Such people have endless OPTIONS, they live in a different world.
Agreed. I am curious, for people in that category, in the long run, who comes out on top?

Also beautiful people for obvious reasons tend to have high levels of sexual activity and that comes with certain risks.
Agreed. Thank God for the White man inventing an effective treatment for HIV. I look forward to more discoveries for other maladies.

How many women are into; carpentry, welding, electrician, military, civil engineering, architecture, marine engineering, heavy-duty machine operator, truck driving, transportation, photography, music producers etc compare to menhuh
The thing about modern women is that they not might dominate those areas, but they target the high earning divisions in those professions. Also, they target the non-physical aspects. So we have women as CFOs of oil companies, but few of them on the rigs. Women as HR personnel and accounting in those sectors, but never doing the brawny aspects.

The reason is because there is no money in medicine.
Men are therefore shying away for studying medicine
There is money, but it takes a long time to amass compared to newer fields. That is the issue with medicine, and since men are still regarded as providers, they have to invest their energies into areas which produce quicker returns. Medicine isn't one of such.

SmartPolician:
If women are running all these industries, wetin come remain for men again? grin The funny thing is that most ladies are hypergamous, meaning that single motherhood will take over our society in the coming years.
This is why marriage rates have dived across the developed world. Women don't see the dire need to marry because the core aim - financial provision - is something they can achieve. It's why they come with a myriad of non-financial requirements for men because they earn their own money. Aside from money, what else do you bring to the table?

Additionally, this takeover of hitherto male careers is why there has been a rise in men demanding women contribute to the households, and one cannot really blame such men. When 50% of the jobs have been taken over by women, hypergamy can't really exist because the jobs men held in order to be a provider have been taken over by women.

I've written it here countless times, should Nigeria become as rich as Malaysia, many of our women won't marry.

As for human resource, no be today. Someone went for CIPM exams and could count the number of men. Zenith Bank employs more women than men.

Currently, it's a Woman's World. It's only a man's world if he is well-to-do.

● China ups oil imports from Iran to 1.81 million barrels/day.

● Iran ships first of 40 gas turbines to Russia.

● Russia signs deal for 8 new nuclear power plants in Iran.
Thank God for Chinese solar advancement. It has kick-started an electricity revolution for many middle-income and poor countries. This time, the energy is "clean", so I want to see what naysayers will say. The West pushed for green energy, and China took it and ran with it. Now, the same West accuse China of going too far. Thankfully, Chinese solar manufacturers no dey hear word.

Dirt cheap but clean energy!

Honestly, as an African in this world, thank God for the Chinese.

The US is treaty-bound to enter any Japan-China conflict.
In fact, the US will join that war faster than it would join a NATO Article 5 war triggered by an attack on any Baltic state or Turkey.

China would still win.
Japanese dominance in East Asia started in the Meiji era and ended in the 2010s.
Current Japan is to China what Korea used to be to Japan pre WW2.
Technological parity has made it an unfair match up.
China is too populous, too advanced, too wealthy, too ruthless.

Here is how I see the Taiwan issue.
China prefers peaceful unification.
But is preparing its military just in case.

On this planet, if you want something, you don't rely exclusively on the goodwill of the opposing party.
You hope for the best but expect the worst.
You ask nicely but prepare a big club to do damage if it has to come to that.

I don't see a war happening, but humans always surprise.

-Lord
Just as you, I prefer and do want a peaceful reunification. War disrupts progress, and I want to see China progress economically without bounds and disruption because an economically strong China enables Chinese businesses and investors to pour in funds across the developing world. Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Indonesia and Nigeria have been some of the beneficiaries.

So a rich and peaceful South(East) Asia is important for our eventual prosperity.
