Hi house, I got my I20 today,now i plan to use my Uncle who has enough money in his account,he has good travel history too.... But my major ish is we don't bear same surname and on the requirements for visa i saw I have to prove wt birth certificate dt we are related, how am I supposed to prove that because we don't have same name. Do i get a court statement?

Also I have been in contact with some lecturers and prof. Most especially prof Adrian. He has agreed for me to join his research team.

Picked up my passport last week.

Mehn I fasted and prayed. Even though I stammered a bit at the beginning, I still got my point across.its just grace.
I dey always hear say people they deaf when they approved their visa. Omo I deaf straight immediately for like 5 seconds . Hopely this helps someone.

Required Documentation

2. Nonimmigrant Visa Application: Fill the DS-160 form online and print out the confirmation page.
3. Visa Fee receipt to show payment of the visa application fee. Refer to https://www.gtbank.com/personal-banking/services/e-banking/us-visa-fees-payment.
4. Original I-20, approved and signed by you and the University authority.
5. SEVIS I-901 Fee Receipt- you can use SEVIS Express to pay (https://sevisexpress.com/pay-sevis-fee/) or get someone in the US to pay on your behalf.
6. International Passport valid for at least 6 months.
7. Birth Certificate.
8. One (1) 2x2 photograph. See the required photo format explained in non-immigrant photograph requirements.
9. Transcripts and diplomas from previous institutions attended.
10. Scores from standardized tests required by the educational institution such as the TOEFL, SAT, GRE, GMAT, etc.
11. Financial evidence that shows you or your parents or sponsor have sufficient funds to cover your tuition and living expenses during the period of your intended study.

Most school doesn’t include name, like 90% doesn’t. They will just write family or parents on your i20. Your uncle mustn’t have same surname with you

Please does the i20 include the name of the sponsor? I used my mum for my sponsor but she her balance isn't same as when I sent it for my Application, can i use my Elder brother, and also if I am to use my Uncle must he be of the same surname with me? Thanks

Finally I read thru the pages of this thread from page 0 to page 11 and I found it so interesting. Different opinions and thoughts.. Hmmmm. First and foremost, most of the comment here are talking about Canada, USA, Australia, etc but there are some countries that doesn't have this big names but they are cool to live in. Do u know u can get ur papers with tourist visa in Europe illegally? Some persons suggested whatsapp group too but sincerely whatsapp group would be great cos we are limited here, we can't really say something's on here. But sincerely I love people's guts on here.. Yes it is!!! Only thing is... you'd have to strengthen your application and apply to programs/schools you have a chance of getting into.

What do I mean by strengthening your application? Try to prepare and do well on standardized tests like TOEFL or GRE (preferably both), read on how to write a really good statement of purpose for your admission, etc. If you succeed in doing this, you'd see that your profile could be better than that of someone with a 3.0+ cgpa and has nothing else.

Don't rush into anything, target fall 2019 semester and start your preparation now. It's doable!

thanks, the Masters degree am looking into doesn't require GRE but either Tofel or ielts.

Please is 2.03 GPA qualified to apply for Masters!

Has anyone written Ielts or Tofel before

I don't think TOEFL and IELTS carry much weight. If you're going to write an exam soon, do the GRE.

Really, what if the school doesn't ask for GRE

Enrollment issues. According to one of my professors, they have been in trouble twice or so for forging enrollment numbers to avoid getting cuts in their funding

Does it mean the school wouldn't be recognized by the VO

I have. It's probably the least known university in the state. I attend University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. From what I've heard from my Professors here, Ark tech has been having lots of issues.
