That's what I keep telling these sycophants. Their elites, celebrities, traditional & even some religious leaders have their plan B while they (the masses) are fighting for scraps. They will never learn. Angelfrost: |
HAHAHAHA!!!!! I was talking to a friend of about this video two days ago. I don't really blame him. It's his gullible supporters that I blame especially those on nairaland lol. I have said on numerous occasions that Nigerians are the most gullible people on planet Earth. I have NEVER witnessed a more gullible people than my countrymen. You lots will kill yourselves over tribe, religion, political parties and celebrities meanwhile the people you are fighting yourselves for have options. At least 95% of politicians children didn't study in this country. Majority of your elites had their children abroad. Jagaban has properties in at least 4 countries. None of his kids studied in Nigeria. Atiku has spent the better part of the last 7 years in Dubai. He's only in Nigeria when he's contesting for elections. Obi's kids didn't study in Nigeria despite him arguing otherwise. Davido did his white wedding in Miami instead of Lagos despite Nigeria giving him a platform to become famous. The only patriotic Nigerian is the poor Nigerian that has zero options. A word is enough for the wise. |
That's the worst comparison. Eazi is a millionaire in dollars and comes from an upper-middle class background. A man from a poor background from Nigeria doesn't go to university in Ghana. XtraFortunes: |
Nigerian men, especially those from the East, won't listen. Most of them have this believe that it's easier to "control" a young (18-23) "virgin" village girl from a poor background that's not educated. They feel that such women are more "submissive" and "loyal". They don't know that they are the most dangerous ones. If you as a man want to settle abroad, it's better to date someone in the system. At least you know what you are getting yourself into. Women from poor background are the worst. Most of them are ungrateful. ediko5: |
So tired of this JAPA news about loss of family. In this globalized era, many cannot stay in one place. Even in Nigeria, how many are based in their village or local government of origin? For me, most of my extended family members grew up abroad so it's not really much of a big deal. On my maternal side, majority were born and bred in the UK. Others are based in Australia, the U.S. & Canada. On my paternal side, i've assisted three to migrate to the UK & Canada. As long as you keep in touch via phone, whatsApp or social media, that's all that matters. |
N5 million is inadequate for Japa. You need at least N20million to be on the safe side. My advise: look for a remote job online and earn in forex. After two or 3 years experience working for a foreign company remotely, you can apply for skilled work visa to a country that makes sense. Option 2: apply for a scholarship to a Latin American country that makes sense (Brazil, Chile, Mexico) and get your passport within 5 years. You don't rush to JAPA to any country. You plan. |
I'm not surprised. This has been going on for decades even before the return to democracy in 1999. Many Nigerians are slaves in their own country but these same Nigerians will mock Nigerians abroad as "second class citizens". At least, a Nigerian abroad is not in delusion of his/her status abroad and can always move back to Nigeria and a comfortable life than many home-based Nigerians that have no options. As I have always said, a long as you are from a poor family, you are a second-class citizen in Nigeria. You can't even blame these foreigners. They observe the way you lots treat your staff, drivers, gatemen, househelp or anyone socially below you and act accordingly. They see how your policemen and soldiers have reduced themselves to errand boys for anyone that has money and do the same. The buck stops with the average Nigerian. |
As an immigration lawyer, I will be blunt: what's happening to Nigeria is a result of numerous factors. Issue number one: Nigeria only issues 3 months single entry visa to foreigners. You can apply for multiple entry visas but it's not more than 90days. Meanwhile, the U.S. issues Nigerians 5 years B1/B2 tourist visa. So, there's the issue of doctrine of reciprocity. Issue number two: It's also geopolitics as Nigeria has been invited to join the BRICS countries and Trump is against any country joining BRICS. Issue number 3: This is also a result of lack of diplomatic efforts by Nigerian officials. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassadors and other diplomats are not proactive in securing Nigeria's interests. Lastly: Nigeria need to sort itself out in order to avoid disrespect from other countries. We are only a "giant" in name but not where it really matters. |
Not surprised. Despite the lifting of the original ban, Nigerians continued to practice illegal activities in that country. Why would you practice cultism in a muslim country? Why would you commit fraud in an Arab country? They have given us so many chances. It's so easy to blame our leaders when Nigerians don't know how to behave in a foreign country. Let's not forget that UAE visa was one of the easiest visas to get for Nigerians until recently. |
I'm not defending Trump or America but let's bear in mind that Nigeria only issues a 90 day tourist visa to U.S. citizens and other nationals while the U.S. issues a 5 year visa to Americans. There's a doctrine of reciprocity amongst countries. Nevertheless, Nigerians need to get their acts together in order to prevent continuous disrespect from other nations. |
This is a dumb statement. I can't stand Tinubu but that statement is false. Before City Boy campaigned for him, Buhari had lost back to back elections like Atiku. He could only capture votes in the North. In a free and fair election without the support of the South West, Jonathan would have floored Bubu. |
She's divorced with two kids. Besides, not too many women from affluent homes get married at their peak years. Finding the right suitor becomes a problem. koladata: |
You are mad. Exposed my ass. She fought for her place to represent Nigeria. It wasn't handed to her on a platter of gold. Someone that was based in America? You lots will do anything to justify wickedness and mediocrity. If anything happened to her, you guys will go on like nothing happened. Meektunz: |
OP, listen to me. As an immigration lawyer, what i am about to tell you is blunt reality. Many countries are tightening their immigration policies even for international students let alone immigrants. Two million naira in today's Nigeria is not more than $1,200. That amount cannot take you anywhere. America is a no-go area. Canada is trying to reduce the influx of immigrants into their country as they are undergoing a housing crisis, The UK has just made more difficult to acquire citizenship in the UK, Australia is far and expensive and Ireland is not that cheap. With the non-english speaking countries, you need to master the language before you can even consider moving there. Your best bet is getting a remote job with an international company. From there, you can relocate abroad. If your intention is to study abroad, then you need to apply for scholarships. Look for a scholarship that will settle all your costs. Finally, acquire a skill that will make you indispensible to international organizations. |
What a waste. This is why you don't give just anyone scholarship abroad. Imagine wasting an opportunity that millions of youths in this country are looking for. If he had stayed focused, he could have secured a job with a multinational in Norway or even Nigeria. He could have used Norway as a launch pad to other countries in the west. The opportunities were endless. Now look at him. Let this be a lesson to young people out there. Opportunities only comes once. Utilize it when it happens. People from his background will never appreciate such opportunities. |
I don't know why you lots are shocked at his behaviour. In 2022, this man admitted that he can get away with dating a minor in Nigeria which he could never do in the U.S. He was basically telling you lots that he loves the fact that Nigeria is a lawless place where anything goes and people didn't caution him. I don't know how this man became a U.S. citizen. Same issue with Naira Marley and portable. Nigerians love giving vagabonds attention. Nigeria promotes the worst in society. |
Also,OP, you can't have patriotic Nigerians when the country is divided along ethnic & religious lines. Is your President himself patriotic with his appointments? Was Buhari patriotic with his on-sided appointments? The only things that brings Nigerians together are sports (especially football), entertainment and money. |
Oya, OP, answer him. All these guys do is rant about people leaving all the time. They won't face their elites who have assets abroad and dual citizenship. It's the average Nigerian who's trying to survive that they keep ranting about. ednut1: |
The Minister that's lamenting, where are his own kids?? 98% of the children of the political elite don't study in Nigeria. Why would those scholars come back? Are there any juicy jobs waiting for them?? I know many people who studied abroad and couldn't secure a job after returning to Nigeria. Scholarships is even the cheapest way to JAPA as you aren't sponsoring yourself. |
Bros, you are wasting your time trying to educate that ignoramous. The joker doesn't understand the benefits of becoming a global citizen. I'm a dual national myself and i have not entered a foreign embassy in 13 years ever since I naturalized. I have been to many international conferences thanks to my second passport. The benefits are endless. Any news concerning foreign citizenship brings about envy and bitterness amongst Nigerians especially APC zombies. Nothing pains them more than knowing that people have better options than them. ZaddyJ: |
Well, poor people don't have any options do they? They know that they can barely feed themselves so they will not try to venture into something that is beyond them. Poor Nigerians are the most patriotic Nigerians because they have no options. Nigeria is their reality so they have accepted their fate and have chosen to endure the suffering that comes with it. Whereas, the middle class and the rich are more exposed and are more concerned with giving their future offsprings a better life than what Nigeria can offer. immortalcrown: |
I am glad that someone in this forum is saying it as it is: poverty. Most commentators in this forum suffer from extreme poverty of the mind. That's why there's so much toxicity in this forum. Many are extremely bitter & jealous of those who are more privileged than them. That's why they continue to support incompetent politicians because of poverty & ignorance. Imagine abusing a little girl for no reason because of her first time experience of visiting a Nigerian market. GloriousGbola: |
This is why i laugh when Nigerians in Nigeria mock Nigerians migrating abroad or Nigerians based abroad as slaves. Isn't this slavery already? As long as you are poor in Nigeria, you are a second-class citizen. At least, abroad, when things go tough, you could always go back home or relocate to another country. Whereas, in Nigeria, you are trapped. Nigerians are really just noisemakers. Nothing more. |
Ho ho ho! Ednut, Gerrard, Tenza, see how 1st class citizens are treated by foreigners, who are themselves third class citizens in their country, in their own country. Nigerians in Nigeria often mock Nigerians in the diaspora as "slaves" or "2nd class citizens" abroad but are themselves treated like 4th class citizens by their Government & political class in their own country. . As long as you are poor & lack connections, you are a 5th class citizen in Nigeria. You only need to see how Nigerians treat their domestic staff to understand what I mean. Wike insulted a whole tribe (Ijaws) and called them "minorities", in other words 2nd class citizens, and nothing happened. |
You are wasting your time arguing with these people that lack exposure. It's even less than 5 million Nigerians that have migrated out of Nigeria. The total number of Nigerians in Europe including the UK is less than 1 million while the total no of Nigerians in North America is also just under a million. That means that less than 1% of Nigeria's population have migrated out of the country yet Nigerians keep focusing on that small minority instead of sorting out the majority. How many people in the North (including the middle belt) reside outside of the country? Nigerians in the diaspora are just easy targets/scape goats for Nigeria's problems. Ignorance and lack of accountability are two big problems facing Nigerians. ednut1: |
Dude has finally been captured. I hope he knows that once you are legally married in the U.S., your spouse is legally entitled to half your assets in that jurisdiction as it's a binding document. A word is enough for the wise. |
You mind the comedian! Most of them are hypocrites. JAPA is only meant for them and their families. The masses should stay and be patriotic while being oppressed. U.S. is hot yet every december, they waiting for forex from those based in the same America that is hotter than Nigeria . Look at the zombies here echoing his words instead of thinking for themselves. ![]() ednut1: |
You have to understand that most nairaland members come from poor/working class homes. Most of them have never entered a plane before. Many of them are visa-rejects. They come to the travel section to vent their frustration on others. goslowgoslow: |
He can't get a passport because of the myopic Constitution (Section 26 (a) (c) citizenship by registration of CFNA 1999) which states that only the female spouse of a Nigerian citizen is entitled to Nigerian citizenship. The National Assembly rejected a Bill (Bill 27) to amend that aspect of the constitution on the grounds that a male foreign spouse could take over the properties of their Nigerian wife amongst other frivolous excuses. Chuck it up to the patriachial nature of Nigerian society. |
Bros, take it easy. Don't stress yourself over people's comments on an invisible blog. Let them believe what they want to believe. goslowgoslow: |
You lots have been saying this s**t since the 90s. No action. Nothing. The blunt reality is that Nigerians are too divided along tribal, religious and party lines to unite and fight their oppressors. Don't blame people for seeking another option. I don't believe that you must travel out of your country to make it but people are disillusioned with the way the country is heading. When Nigerians are EVER ready to settle their differences then we can talk. Zetty177x: |
Argentina has been a mess for decades. Nothing new. The koko is that it is one of the few countries where you can acquire citizenship in less 5 years bar the citizenship via investment route. The main issue is that the country is extremely racist towards blacks. tensazangetsu20: |
