OP, JAPA isn't cheap anymore. What is your budget? The only countries I can recommend right now that are friendly to families coming to their country are Canada (via the Express Entry route), Brazil (try and have another child which will guarantee PR for the whole family), Ireland (through post-study work visa), Argentina (citizenship guaranteed within two years but very racist) or Finland. You need to think carefully about this. Don't sell your properties & assets in the name of JAPA. Do a thorough research.

OP is completely out of touch with reality. Do you know that at least 80% of Nigerians are living in poverty? Do you understand that most Nigerian men earn less than 100k per month? What is the number of Nigerian car owners in the country? Your advise is more suited to a western/developed country setting. Not in a country where the minimum wage is less than 70k. Not in a country where the majority don't have access to grants. Go to every university campus in the country, you will find that only 50% of students own a car. It may even be less. Finally, have you seen the cost of cars in today's Nigeria? Even getting a tokunbo car is not cheap. Let's be realistic, Tinubu has reduced the purchasing power of the middle & working class thereby making it difficult for many men to achieve what you have posted.

Backward mentality. Thank God my education in this country stopped at SS3 and the rest abroad. If nothing else, I'm grateful to my folks for that. The Nigerian system produces zombies who can't think for themselves, cannot speak their minds and are cowards. Imagine a grown ass man kneeling down for someone who is not their parent, religious or traditional authority.

This is why i laugh when Nigerians talk about racism in the west. An Indian man from an ethnic minority became a Prime Minister in the UK and President in Ireland. A muslim man from India is the current Mayor of London. The current leader of the opposition party in the UK is black woman of Nigerian descent. Meanwhile, in her country of origin, she could never be a Governor outside the South West based on her tribe and we say that we are one country? Why is anybody surprised? Many small businesses can't survive the high cost of doing business in Nigeria coupled with the fact that they don't have access to loans/grants like their counterparts in developed countries. Meanwhile, all you jokers that keep saying that it's better to set up a business than to Japa, work for anyone or invest in a second passport, I hope you are seeing the results of the so-called "setting up a business in Nigeria". This is why exposure is very important. Any business that is not an essential business like food, oil etc is bound to suffer.

My brother, people will JAPA whether you like it or not. Nigerians aren't the only ones that migrate abroad. In fact, Europeans do this every day. They just don't make noise about it. As for the so-called "small firm", how many businesses are presently thriving in this economy? You have multinationals that are leaving the country due to bribes, taxes, lack of constant light and other issues. Do you know how many businesses have gone bankrupt in the past 12 months? Nigeria is a very tough place to do business if you aren't connected.

Tunji-Ojo has done better than the past 4 Interior Ministers combined. He has modernized the immigration system in Nigeria. When a Minister does well, you have to give them props. Rauf was there for 8 years and did nothing but announce public holidays.

OP, in this present economy, N10 million is not much if you intend to Japa to countries such as UK, Canada, U.S. or Australia. Do you have extensive work experience in a relevant field? If you do, apply for Canadian PR (Permanent Residency). That is your best option if you want to JAPA to the west. Don't try the study route or tourist visa. Those formats have casted. If you are willing to think outside the box and learn a second language, i will suggest that you look into countries such as Brazil, Mexico or Portugal. Papers guaranteed within 5 years. The goal is not to spend all your money on JAPA.

Why waste your time educating people who aren't exposed, haven't held big money and have a local champion mentality. The intended audience for that scheme are people with assets across the globe who are frequent travelers and understand the importance of freedom of movement. Where was he when when the richest black man in the world (Dangote) complained a few years ago that even with his wealth, he needs multiple visas to travel within Afirca?

Is beyond just citizenship for a whole lot of people,or first class citizen in your home country.

An American citizen, Singapore, European or Canadian etc,can wake up one day,pack his or her back up,book a flight and straight to Canada,or any other first or second world countries no questions by any immigration of any visa,in our mother land is not so.
You can have a conference to attend outside the shores of your country,and be limited by visa applications,which you might end up not getting.


The more reason people buy Carribbean citizenship,that is far more better than African Countries,and some other countries in the world.

Having a passport that makes you travel, without much visa application should be one of the assets a man can give his generation

It should also be noted that the U.S. has some of the strictest visa policies in the world. As it stands, only 36 countries are part of the visa waiver program to the U.S with the majority been European countries. No African country has ever been part of the visa waiver program. Even relatively developed countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Brazil and Qatar are not part of the program. That's global politics for you.

This is not a big deal. No 'developed' country has ever been visa free to Nigerians. I don't know why we should think otherwise. As for those saying that they would never travel/live in America, I doubt that Americans could care less... We are talking about people (especially whites) that still refer to Africa as a country. We Nigerians just love overestimating our importance in the global scene.

There are several reasons why most Nigerian Lawyers are poor. 1. Lower purchasing power of clients due to the economy. The dire state of Nigeria's economy has negative impact on the purchasing power of the mass. As such, many people cannot afford the services of lawyers. 2. Due to the fact that majority of Nigerians are poor, only a small percentage of the population can afford the services of lawyers. As a result, most lawyers are competing for the patronage of that small clientele. 3. The big firms have a grip on the legal market. Most of the bigger established law firms and very senior lawyers have secured the services of that small rich clientele. As such, many young lawyers have lost out.
4. Inequality in the profession. There's a huge disparity in the earning power of lawyers due to factors such as location, the size of the law firm they are working for, the area of practice (commercial lawyers make more money than human rights/criminal lawyers) and social class. 5. The issue of social class. Social class is a big issue in the legal profession in Nigeria. A lawyer from a privileged background has a higher chance of success compared to a lawyer from a poor family. I will stop here as there too many factors to consider.

This is nothing. Imagine someone who you thought was your best friend since primary 1 (1991), invites you to his wedding in the States and you aren't even amongst the groom train I'm not talking about best man as he has brother and brother-in-law but a groomsman. A non-native cannot even contest for local government chairmanship in some regions but the same people would complain about blacks not holding top political positions in Europe. That is the bitter truth. The average Nigerian is bitter and frustrated. A "first class" citizen doesn't have access to good health care in his/her own country. Most don't have much going for them in Nigeria and have tried and failed to relocate. I helped someone months ago. Wife developed complications during pregnancy and he was running helter skelta looking for money to save his wife. He asked for 500k loan, I gave him. Months later, I saw his post on Facebook mocking Nigerians abroad as doing odd jobs to survive and looking for "3rd class citizenship ". He said he will rather live like a king in Nigeria than have "3rd class citizenship "

It pisses me off when Nigerians in Nigeria mock Nigerians in the diaspora as "second class" citizens who "clean the white man's yash and wash toilets". The disrespect is off the chain. Nigerians in America are the most educated immigrants in the country. All my classmates from high school have top jobs in the States. Even in the UK, where I spent a quarter of my life, most Nigerians I know have professional jobs. Many work in the city, have their own firms, work in the public & private sector. Nigerians in the diaspora are the biggest investors in Nigeria after foreign companies. Compared to most immigrant groups abroad, Nigerians, especially 1st generation Nigerians, tend to be more invested in their country of origin than others. Many families are surviving because of the contributions of family members abroad. Nigerians abroad invest heavily in the property market in Nigeria. They are even the biggest tourists in their own country. Who do you think make up the majority of "dirty december" tourists? It's Nigerians in the diaspora bringing necessary forex into the country. Many Nigerians abroad work 2-3 jobs just to provide for their families back home. What have Nigerians living in Nigeria done for their own country apart from being zombies supporting mediocrity?

This list is inaccurate. Nigerians in the U.S. are more than 300k. Those in the UK are about 250k as the total number of blacks in the UK are just under 2 million of which the majority are Caribbean. There are more Nigerians in Canada than those in UAE, Germany and Brazil combined. I mean, how many Nigerians are in UAE with their strict immigration policies. The data left out Nigerians in other African countries like Ghana, Ivory Coast and Cameroon. Nigerians in those countries should be near a million altogether.

You and the over 200 million people living in Nigeria, what have you lots done to fix your country? Nothing. It's always the majority asking the minority to do the heavy work.

It is technically the same thing. Only difference is that visa on arrival is can be denied at the point of entry if the immigration officers feel that your purpose for visiting their country is not sincere. Visa on arrival is also at the discretion of the immigration officials. Individuals from visa-free countries can also be denied at the port of entry but there has to be a concrete reason for it.

Visa on arrival means that once you arrive at country, you will immediately be issued with a visa. So you don't need to apply for a visa at their embassy in your country. Whereas, visa-free is exactly what it says: you don't need a visa to visit that country.

This silly comparison between Nigeria and the U.S. needs to stop. Both countries have different histories, different economic systems and different political structures. America is a capitalist society and Nigeria operates a mixed economy. The U.S. is 400 years old while Nigeria is approaching 65 years. Nigerians should be looking at countries with similar cultures, origins such as Malaysia which gained independence 3 years before us, South Korea and even Mexico which has more in common with Nigeria than the U.S.

That "shithole" as you call it, is more advanced than any country in Africa including South Africa. I should know as I have been to both countries.

In Nigeria, you need to put your state & local government of origin on your CV when you are applying for a job. As of now, in order to renew your Nigerian passport, you need to submit your certificate of origin. Something that have never happened before. We have no problem discriminating against ourselves but when others do it to us we get pissed.

I am so sick of this for/against migrating abroad. Are Nigerians the only people in the planet whose people are emigrating? The current population of Nigeria is 220 million. The total number of Nigerians in the diaspora bar the descendants of slaves are less than 5 million. The total number of Nigerians living in Europe is less than 700,000. In contrast, the number of Moroccans in Spain alone is over 1 million. You don't see Moroccans making noise. The total number of Nigerians in North America is less than 1 million.Meanwhile, the population of Vietnamese in the U.S. alone is more than 2 million. Yet, they don't make noise like us.

The number of Nigerians who have left Nigeria since APC came to power in 2015 is less than 250,000. Yet, we are making it look like half the population have JAPA. What are the remaining 200 million doing to improve Nigeria? What percentage of the 200 million Nigerians are "balling"?With the current exchange rate and restrictive immigration policies of many western countries, the number of Nigerians leaving has drastically reduced.
