i feel you brother, they don't understand our Africa way of life,i live in europe so i now how it's.talking about the real problem she heating you first, that i don't knw what to say or what advice i should give to you i will beg you with God to try never to heat her back again becos u knw ur woman can send you to prison with that if you return to europe and plz check she is not keeping pictures of her skin, you can never tell.when she start that why not try leaving the house?go out then when you return seat her down and try talking to her

bokom:
Hello Guys

My name is UD (not real name), a Nigerian and i am married to European who is 10 years older than me. We met in Europe but got married in Lagos.

Well, after our marriage, we always have family issues and fights like every other couple, but the problem i am having with my wife is that any time we are having our small misunderstanding, she always gets physical.. Initially, its just a small slap to my face and some nail scratching on my body here and there. And when this started in Europe, i will always try to walk away or hold her hands to calm her down, but seems the more i take the beatings, the more courage and bold she becomes in always hitting me during an argument or small misunderstanding with her.

Recently, we both came back to Nigeria for a business we brought down from Europe, and since we started living in Nigeria, i couldn't hold myself any longer as i have tried so in so many occasions to avoid hitting her back, but at a point i couldn't take it any more and i had to hit her back! though not so hard, but like oyibos, her skin where i hit her turned purple color and the next day everybody at our office was looking at me like the devil himself and a woman beater... I felt very very bad that i swore never to touch her again!

But last night she came all out for me again, hitting me, throwing lamps and whatever at me, and i lost it again and had to hit her! This time a bit hard! Please what am i supposed to do because i don't feel good after this fights especially when i have to hit her back.

And some of you might ask, why are we always fighting Well, i happens to be the bread winner in my family, but my wife doesn't understand why i should give money to my brother to help him in his business or pay for a new home for my mum. She said my family is too lazy and they should go and fend for themselves. My family is all i had and i feel obliged to help them even as i have a joint business venture with my wife and we run same account, thus finds out anytime i give them money. My brother was the one who helped and paid for my studies in Europe when his business was moving fine...now i feel i have to support him too because he has some problems with his business, but my oyibo wife will not hear of it and thus leads to our fighting and she getting physical with me..

Please guys, advise me what to do if you are in my shoes...only matured advises needed. Thanks

How much you can afford, check ur acc, check ur pucket and check how much coming in every month end and don't forget after ur wedding u must continue to eat,pay bills and also to save for 2morrow.

clefstone:
As much as the cost of celebrating marraiges is relative, with all indices assumed to be normal, how much should ideally be budgeted to cover cost of traditional and white wedding in Nigeria.

Please your opinions should be based on the emphasis, 'AVERAGE NIGERIAN' and on the economic condition prevalent in the country.

I would love contributions from single female folks and married men and just about anyone wit an idea.

Hello,my advice will be,you should be very sure that you and ur husband will be given a working permit, both of you will be allow to work, becos canada have rare immigration programme.it's all depends de kind of visa you will request for.in Canada there's alot of work so if you given a working permit you will both get job fast and given birth over there will do you a lot good, your baby will be a citizen by birth and govt will give you help.good luck,go with ur husband.

irridemi:
Hello Nairalanders, Please I need ur advise. Am currently 2months pregnant, and My husband is thinking of us relocating to Canada. I currently work in the bank while my husband is into Forex and Securities Trading Business. We were doing averagely okay until last year when business started shaking, my husband has lost a lot and now he is thinking of us relocating to Canada to start afresh. If I resign and we sell our properties, and the little savings we have should be enough to sponsor him for a Postgraduate Course (2years), while I follow him as his wife ( then I get a job), he wants this option cos am a professional and I have good work experience. Option 2 is for me to do a post graduate course and he accompanies me (mayb I will get a good job fast cos of my qualifications). if I wait till we have our baby, the expenses will be much(I.e the financial requirement for the visa). My hubby's uncle is ready to assist us, but my husband doesn't want to take the risk of investing in business again. He has Sasacheskwan or Toronto in mind. I will really appreciate advise thanks

I asked him why he wants to use my house since he has a well furnished house? He told me that he doesn't want his real babe to walk into them accidentally in his house, that he needs a place like my house where his real babe don't easily visits. He said he was afraid that he may gets caught by his real babe cheating. I then told him that my house is not available that he should go and book a hotel instead, that i don't allow such thing in my house. I told him that i'm very sorry that it can't be possible. He then cut the call. I guess he was angry for my refusal to grant his request. i have been trying to reach him on phone since but to no avail. I would try to go and see him later.

Please is what i did wrong? Should i have left my house for him and his babe to do such thing?

Crime / Re: Kano Child-Bride Confesses To Killing Husband With Rat Poison (Pictured) by ghetto101(m): 3:50pm On Dec 23, 2014
how will a man of 35 marry a little girl of 14?the girl's family and the man's family should be jailed.

prettyjennifer:
A packed Kano State High Court, yesterday, heard testimony that a 14-year-old girl admitted to killing her 35-year-old husband with rat poison, and signed a police confession with a thumbprint because she cannot write.

The girl, from a poor and conservative Muslim family, has been charged with murdering her husband, Umar Sani, days after their marriage in Kano State.

Because she does not understand English, homicide investigator Abdullahi Adamu translated her statement from the Hausa language.

She could not write her name, so “she had to use a thumbprint,” he told the court, during his testimony on the last day of the prosecution’s case.

Co-wife’s story
The state’s lawyers, who are seeking the death penalty, also called to the stand Tasi’u’s co-wife, identified as Ramatu.

Ramatu said she got along well with Tasi’u and that the two had prepared the food together on April 5, the day Sani died.

She testified that because it was Tasi’u’s turn to share bed with Sani, Tasi’u was also entitled to serve his meal.

“After putting the food in the dish, I did not see anybody put anything in it,” Ramatu said.
She said later her husband was helped back to the house by a neighbour, unable to walk and foaming at the mouth.

The court overflowed, with crowd spilling out of the gallery door and people peering in through the open windows.

The case has sparked outrage among human rights activists, who say Nigeria should be treating Tasi’u as a victim, noting the possibility that she was raped by the man she married.

Sharia
However, others in the region, including relatives of the defendant and the deceased, have rejected the notion that Tasi’u was forced into marriage.

They have said that 14 is a common age to marry and that Tasi’u chose Sani from among many suitors.

A motion by defence lawyers to have the case moved to juvenile court was rejected, despite claims by human rights lawyers that she was too young to stand trial for murder in a high court.

Further complicating the case is the role of Sharia, which allows children to marry according to some interpretations.

While sharia is technically in force in Kano, law enforcement officials have no guidelines concerning how it should be balanced with the secular criminal codes, creating a complex legal hybrid system.
According to Human Rights Watch, Nigeria is not known to have executed a juvenile offender since 1997.

The trial has been adjourned until February 16, 2015.

God punish this EVIL MEN,how long will they continue to treat people like goats?instead of creating jobs so pple can work and take care of themselves and family they wait when election is close to share rice and oil.Bleep pple run and fight for it.we must grow.

maxism2:
Thousands of Lagos residents converged on the Idowu Taylor Street, Victoria Island, on Saturday to receive Christmas gifts from the Bola Tinubu Foundation, a non-profit organisation owned by a former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. The gifts comprised bags of rice, salt, vegetable oil, T-shirts and cash.

According to PUNCH Metro, the event was not without hitches as policemen and other security agents tried to push back the large crowd that turned up from every local government area in thestate. Barricades were broken as beneficiaries caused a stampede. As the crowd became uncontrollable, policemen fired teargas into the crowd but the crowd remained adamant and stood their ground.

A Special Adviser to the former Governor, Mr. Femi Oyatolu, said over 2,000 bags of rice had been distributed as of 12pm on Saturday. Oyatolu, however, argued that the exercise was not politically-motivated as no one was made to show evidence of membership of any political party.

He said:“We have distributed over 2,000 bags of rice of 12.5kg. We have also distributed vegetable oil, T-shirts, salts and cash for the needy. It is not politically-motivated because we have been doing this for the past five years. It is a Christmas outreach but we also do it during Salah as well. It is just a way of giving back to society and putting smiles on people’s faces. It is not stomach infrastructure because it cuts across all political divides. It is not restricted to any group.

Apart from giving out gift items, we also do free medicals for people and also pay school fees of indigent students.”

Over 110 Boko Haram terrorists killed in Damboa

No fewer than 110 Boko Haram insurgents were yesterday killed in gun battle in Damboa, the headquarters of Damboa local government area of Borno State in a failed attack which was repelled by men of the 7 Division, Nigerian Army.

Damboa, is about 95km from Maiduguri, the state capital and was the first local government area captured by insurgents in June this year before it was gallantly recaptured by the military in July.

The killing of these terrorists is coming barely 24 hours when troops in support of civilian JTF killed over 75 insurgents at Dogon Wire while attempting to repair the vandalized Power transmission line along Damboa- Maiduguri road since July this year as well as the combing of Tashan Alade and other communities of Hawul Local Government Area that were hitherto taken over by insurgents in which, Over 20 motorcycles and other vehicles snatched by the terrorists were set ablaze.

Nigerian women are being trafficked to Italy under the pretence that they will be working as nannies or in factories – but often end up working the streets as prostitutes.
Their plight has been highlighted by Paris-based photographer Elena Perlino, originally from Italy, who began to notice the presence of young African women working on the streets during her commutes from Turin.
She said: ‘I decided to start from this surreal vision to tell a story. I have been working on the topic for several years, focusing mainly on the Italian connection.’

Perlino reveals that many Nigerian women come to Italy hoping to make enough money from honest work as nannies or factory workers to support their families back home, but are tricked by traffickers into working in the sex trade.

Eighty per cent of women trafficked to Italy come from Benin City, Edo State, in south Nigeria.
The photographer explained: ‘My work attempts to show a complex phenomenon that crosses Italy from North to South.
‘This involves many cities including Turin, Milan, Genoa, Rome, Naples and Palermo and thousands of Nigerian and Italian people.’
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime declared Nigeria among the top eight countries with the highest human trafficking rates in the world.

Traffickers demand on average more than 50,000 euros (US $60,000) for travel expenses and accommodation, with the women having to work as prostitutes until their debts are paid off.
