Thirty-five minutes later, I drove into the premises of the Ikeja City Mall around Alausa. I was sure the Mall will be enough to provide me will all that I need to host my guest, yes it was for it had all that I needed inside of it like a 5-screen silverbird Cinemas, Shoprite supermarket, banks, cafes, bars, restaurants, ice-skating arena. We settled down in ‘KFC’ to eat, Ruth couldn’t help but bobble with excitement and amusement as she glanced around like a newly freed convict. As we ate, I occasionally stole glances at her which she noticed and that got her curious.

“Is there something you wish to tell me?” she asked

“Why do you ask?” I pretentiously asked in return

“Because it’s being the umpteenth time you’ve stolen a glance at me….hope I’m save?

“You are safe with me, it’s just that there is something deep inside my heart I want you to know” I said with a tone of seriousness.

“And what is it?” she enquired as she paused from eating, looking into my eyes like it was a sought of time-bomb ready to blow. I could see the strain of suspense hung upon her face,

***”Ruth, I want to F you so hard, I want to make sweet love to you and feel the pleasure to the high heavens, I want to caress your smooth and busty breasts and suck the hard darkish-brown nipple on top of it, I want to deep my mouth into yours as suck your saliva, I want to feel your tender body upon my skin and hear you moan with pleasure as I slide my hands all over your succulent thigh up into your clitoris, I want to hear you call my name in a sensual manner as you plead to have me inside of you, I want to….”***

“Abdul!.... Abdul!! And what is this thing you want me to know?” she kicked my leg from underneath the table when she realized I was absent minded. I was immediately brought back to reality as I scrabbled for something to say.

“ehnmm….ehnmmm….i was just thinking of ehnmmm!!, I’m sorry but what was the question again?”

“You said you wanted to tell me something” she sounded expectant

“oh yes! I just want to say that you are the most beautiful creature I have ever seen” I told her what was very close to the truth and I could see she was excited.

“Thanks a lot for the compliment” she appreciated amidst smile as she went back eating.

Later on, we went into the shoprite-supermarket where we bought all sought of varieties, she had about three shopping cart filled up under my expense. Ruth felt uncomfortable accepting the gifts but I insisted and told her how bad it will make me feel if she rejects it, though she felt she couldn’t thank me enough but I made her realized that her presence beside me was all I cherish. As we entered into the car, we kissed and it was a passionate sought of but she wouldn’t let me go any further for again in her own words “It’s complicated”. I was about to ignite the engine to my car when Ruth said if only we had more time she would have loved to experience what it feels like to be in the ‘Silverbird indoor cinema’.

“So be it”.

We were right in time for a ‘Tyler Perry’ movie slated to be screened on cinema at exactly 6:35pm, in the fully air-conditioned cinema space; we had our pop-corn and pineapple juice which I had secretly laced with twenty-three percent liquor which I had earlier bought in the supermarket. Few minutes into the movie, Ruth started complaining of too much cold.

“Is there any way I can let them put off this thing, the cold is too much o!” Ruth said as she was slightly shivering.

“Honestly I don’t know but you can have my juice” I said and stretched my cup of juice towards her.

“so how will drinking your own juice be a solution to the cold?” she asked

“just drink it and see wonders as it works itself in your body” I whispered into her ears

“Okay o…., doctor Abdul, let me experience your magic” Ruth teased as she collected my juice and gave me hers.

Ruth slowly took a sip from the cup, then another sip and another sip till she gulped down half of the juice, I was surprised by her action because I never expected her to take in all at ones. About five minutes later she directed her mouth towards my ear and whispered “Doctor Abdul, I think your juice is really performing wonders”.

“And why is that?” I asked in the process of trying to focus on the movie in front of me.

“I am gradually feeling warm inside my stomach, how did you do it?” she asked

“I added bit of spirit to it” I said innocently.

“What’s a spirit?” she sounded ignorant

“A sought of liquor” I explained

“And what is a liquor?” she looked lost and curious

“A sought of alcohol” I further explained

“Blood of Jesus!!” she screamed and it ended up attracting and distracting the already rapt attention of the viewers.

The remaining period in the cinema was a awkward moment for me as I watched in silence but a absent minded trying to figure out what Ruth would feel about my earlier action of the ‘Miracle working juice’.

***Before you all blame me, I want you to know that I did what I did with a plain heart of love and care towards Ruth, I had given up my liquor-laced-juice in helping her earlier troubled condition….and besides, how do I know she had never consumed and never wants to consume alcohol?***

It was on a Wednesday morning, a general meeting was held by all management and staffs of Greenland Academy right before we embark on the mid-term break. Various issues relating to the development of the school was discussed and suggestions where welcomed, the management had agreed to go on a two days mid-term break. After the meeting, as everyone stood to dismiss, I signaled to Ruth to come see me in my office which she did.

“I never knew you are so good an actress” I started with as she sat.

“What do you mean sir?” she acted ignorant.

“For how long will you keep acting like this?”

“Like how sir?”

“Like you’ve got no feelings for me” I lean forward to my table.

“Sir it’s over, I can’t continue with it”

“But why can’t you….., don’t you have feelings for me?”

“I don’t know sir, it’s complicated”

“What is so complicated about your life that you can’t share with me?”

Ruth kept mute as she try avoid further eye contact with me, I stared at her for a while and could feel through her eyes the invisible burden upon her shoulder. She must have learnt the act of hiding her pains all to herself and masking it behind her pretty face. I made a mental note to finding out by myself what this ‘Complicated’ was about Ruth life.

“Any news on your post-UTME result?” I try change the topic

“Yes sir, I scaled through the cut-off mark, I scored 72.

“Woow…., that sure cause for celebration!, do you have any plans for tonight”

“I will be going for fellowship this evening and a prayer vigil tonight”

“What about tomorrow, you should come to my place, it’s a mid-term break isn’t it?”

“But sir I….” she try explain.

“No ‘But’ Miss Ruth, we need to celebrate this success, make it a must you call me tomorrow” I spoke with a tone of finality as I stretched fought a piece of paper containing my phone number and home address towards her which she collected reluctantly.

The next day which was Thursday was a big day for me for someone special was coming to visit, I had the gardener Mallam Issa tidy up the environment to its peak of cleanliness and had my fridge stocked with all sought of exotic wines and can-food. Ruth called me few minutes past four that afternoon telling me she had successfully located my building.

ME: That’s good, tell the security guard at the gate that you are here to see me, he will let you in.

RUTH: I’m sorry sir; I don’t want to come inside.

ME: what do you mean?

RUTH: I just don’t want to come inside, let us meet outside.

ME: I don’t get you, but why?

RUTH: ehmmm…..actually its ehmm!!...

ME: Oh!...,I forgot, it’s complicated, isn’t it? So now what happens when I come to see you outside?

RUTH: I don’t know o!

ME: Just forget it, I will join you outside in a jiffy.

Call ends.

As I stepped outside the gate, I sighted a very beautiful creature, I sighted an Angel, I saw Ruth looking so radiant in a short tight fitted purple colored blouse with all it accessories to match. Her facial make-up was kept simple and on her was the ‘Alicia Augello (Alicia Keys)’ braided hair type with her body curves sensually shaped making her presence irresistible to any sane man.

“Wow, you look so gorgeous!” I said

“Thanks for the compliment sir” she replied

“What’s up with you and this your ‘Sir ish’ thing, can’t you just…..?”

“Okay Abdul” she corrected before I finished my statement

“Good, that’s my gal, now since you insisted on not coming in for whatever reason you have, then I think it is logical we go to your place then” I teased.

“Ahhh…. God forbid…, my mother will skin me alive, she mustn’t even know I’m here” she bursted out in fearful outlook.

“I was merely joking; so where did you tell her you are going to?”

“Fellowship”

“Dressed like this?” I asked curiously as I took a glanced at her seductive outfit.

Ruth answered the question by opening her big purple hand-bag to show me what the content in it was, and yes it was a cloth, a cloth which I guessed she must have wore earlier while leaving her house.

“Such a bad gal you are…, so where have you changed?” I asked in a fascinating tone.

“Is this how you plan to keep me standing under this hot sun while I’m being interrogated?

“Oops..., my bad, I am sorry, wait here while I rush in to change to something better and get the car because I need to show you how special you are”.

“So where are we going to?” she asked with an excited appearance.

“Just guess!”

It was on a very sunny and hopeless looking day like it has always appeared to be, I was sitting infront of my mother’s kiosk where she displays food stuffs for sale, I thought of my life and my future which seems to be on a stand-still, I couldn’t belief I was still jobless after three years of graduating with very good grade in the higher institution and serving my fathers’ land with strength and faith…. ‘Faith my foot’ I muffled with disgust. At the age of 27 years I still hadn’t find my bearing in life, I felt my life was best compared to a dry leaf surfing carelessly in the midst of great wind. There I was sitting all alone and trying to blame the government for my uncertainness of purpose as I felt my parents had no financial responsibility on me again.

“Is this how I am going to continue living my life without a job and hoping on my parents to feed me?” I rhetorically asked within myself as all hope of living my ‘Wizkid and Davido’ kind of lifestyle seem to be crumbling at that moment. I felt pinched and cheated by my government who ought to provide her youths with the necessary social amenities to enhance and encourage self employment “but no, dem go sidon yakata on top arm-chair dey swallow public fund, na God go punish dem!!” I caused aloud into the hearing of my mother who was busy picking grains of beans from a flat tray into a small bowl for one of her customers who had come paid earlier for it in the

“Shey ko si”? she looked up at me and asked

“Ko si ma, mo kan ka iroyin kan lori phone ni” I lied after I had quickly pretended like I was reading something of importance on my phone. My parents already have their own problems to deal with and it seem of no good for me to place my own ‘wahala’ on them. My father an aged retired civil servant with unsteady pension and my mother a trader of foodstuff in her kiosk not far from home, my three elder siblings all gone to various big cities to ‘hustle’, one of my younger siblings was a final-year undergraduate and the last one was an apprentice to a popular fashion designer few miles away from home.

Beside my mother I sat scoping through my phone, the job section on the nairaland forum was my popular site for suitable job search and it seems my luck was taking too long, as I was buried to my phone, my mother stood up to inform me she would be going out to go meet one of her customers. I was left alone and I kept myself busy by reading interesting stories on the literature section on nairaland, after a while, I raised up my head from my phone and surprisingly saw a man standing right in front of me, he was neatly dressed in a pure white ‘Jalabia’ with a white cap resting on his head, he wore a white palm sandal, a weird looking white goatee hung firmly below his jaw. The strange man appeared so weird in his all-white outfit but not as weird as his complexion which appeared so dark like a black coal. My first glance at him got me so frightened that I jerked up on the chair I had sat. I had to quickly comport myself and assure myself that he was just human in his unique form.

“Chai, dis guy black o!” I exclamated inwardly

“Good afternoon young man!” the man greeted in a fluent Queen’s English which got aback

“Good afternoon sir, what would you like to buy?” I politely reciprocated and unnecessarily asked just to prove to the strange man that I could do better in the world of ‘Queen’s English’

The stranger looked so surprise by my question, he had a weird facial expression on him like a man who had been seriously insulted. Then suddenly he took a step closer towards me and intensified his stairs at my eyes and that got me feeling so scared and unsecured.

“M..um…I’m …I’m very sorry but how…how may I be of help to you?” I asked in a shaky tone which betrayed my pretence for confidence. Worst still, the stranger got his eyes glued at me like an escaped lunatic, but my fear sky-rocketed when this man asked

“Why have you sent for me if you don’t know me”?

‘I don talk am, dis guy na cooperate lunatic, he must have escaped under the disguise of a good outfit’ I thought as I looked behind me to see if he was actually referring to me or an invisible creature….and yes, he was actually talking to me.

“are you talking to me sir” I asked for reassurance

“It is you young man that I am talking to and I ask again, why have you sent for me if you don’t know me?” clearly he repeated and that simply confirmed my fear.

I wanted to scream and teleport out of sight but I fear for the unknown, who knows what this insane man is capable of doing. Like ‘pinky and the brain’, I quickly scanned for a way out of my mystery. So I decided to play along and act like I understood what he meant.

“Oh…oh…yes…yes sir,…um…um… I was the one who called you just now, you looked so much like someone I know but I realized it was a mix-up, I am very sorry about that sir” I acted all wimpy. The man stretched his head a little towards me to sniff the air like he could smell my quick cooked-up lies.

“You lie!!” he said abruptly with rage in his eyes.

‘dis one na real phyco o!!....I had better beat him to his game’ I fearfully thought as I re-strategized and went for another attack of lie

“Sir you see” I timidly started “I really called for you because I felt bored sitting alone and thinking of how hopeless my future seems to appear, so I needed someone to share my problems with….like they, a problem shared is a problem solved”. I couldn’t believe I told an escaped lunatic the truth about my life, truly I’ve got problems but telling a complete alien my problems wasn’t part of the plan.

This stranger took a step backwards, knelt to one of his kneels and spoke queerly with his head bow slightly towards the ground “You have just spoken the truth, now how do I serve you my master?”

toksbisola:
@OP; you really need to work on the way you describe other people especially if they are not up to your standard. If the irritation is along the lines of how they look physically of which they have no control over; learn to accept them the way they are and not try to bring them down.

Try not to look down on any man; be it a poor/rich man or ugly/handsome man. A MAN IS A MAN WHETHER HE’S UGLY, HANDSOME, FROM A HUMBLE, AVERAGE OR RICH BACKGROUND. As you’re seeking a handsome man, I hope you’re pretty yourself (No offence hope none taken) as being good-looking seems to be something you emphasize on; maybe/may be not.

That said, now permit me to ask you this question, how would you feel if someone constantly criticizes you in an area where you have no control over e.g your looks/stature? I’m sure you’ll not feel happy about it. Now put yourself in the shoes of this current guy and deliberate.

You talk as if you yourself are Miss 100% perfect and have no flaws. Listen up gurl, I'm sure this current guy is putting up with your fault/flaws without blowing your trumpet as loud as you’re blowing his. If this current guy were to make a list of your flaws, it’ll be as long as my arm but yet, he manages yours and probably don’t complain so much as you’re whining about his looks. I can just imagine the agony and pains he’s going through just to please you; but obviously that’s not enough as you have said yourself that you keep looking at your wristwatch when you’re out with him for the time to pass quickly. It’s disrespectful doing that when you’re out on a date.

To love someone is a beautiful thing; and when one is seeking a partner, there are certain factors you need to consider before taking the “I DO” step as MARRIAGE IS NOT A BED OF ROSES. The factors are; Love, Compatibility, Respect and Friendship.

The few questions mentioned below, can you in your heart answer yes to all regarding the current guy;

Is he caring?
Is he decent?
Is he hardworking?
Is he supportive?
Does he love you?

Also note these 2 points;

1) Never marry anyone out of pity simply because you have been with them for a long time and you don’t want them to lose out.

2) Marry for true love so that when the challenges start occurring in the marital bond (and best believe challenges would arise) that the love both of you have built up would be able to withstand the ups and downs that would occur.

We all have preference’ as to what we want in a partner; but laying so much emphasis on LOOKS can be a dangerous game. Besides, you’re entitled to marry a handsome man IF THAT’S WHAT YOU WANT AND WOULD MAKE YOU HAPPY. Always look at the potential for the future in a man when seeking for a mate and not just his looks. Note that you can marry a handsome/ugly man who’ll deal with you mercilessly and disrespect you on every occasion and not give you the peace you require. On the other hand you can also marry a handsome/ugly man that would give you peace and love you dearly; you just never know.

It would be in your best interest to TO AVOID PROLONGING THIS MATTER ANY LONGER. If you honestly would not be able to look beyond the “PROBLEM AREA” which you class as his looks not being up to your standards; PLEASE FREE HIM AND FREE YOURSELF. Don’t have a selfish attitude (No offence hope none taken) where you want to have your cake and eat it by keeping him and STILL HAVING THESE NAGGING DOUBTS/ISSUES THAT YOU CAN’T OVERLOOK.

The decision is yours entirely whether to carry on with him or let him be (beauty is in the eye of the beholder); though it'll be totally out of a selfish interest to allow him to chase other women away (one man’s meet is another man’s poison) with his knowledge that he has met his wife; meanwhile you’re in doubt if you have met your husband; as that’s the way it looks at the moment . Also to re-emphasis that you might find a handsome guy (who might deal with you mercilessly through his character), but might not be a “Husband material”.

Finally, look for more important qualities that a man has (as mentioned above) aside money/looks before settling down with him to avoid stories that touch/hurt. NEVER EVER PUT HIS LOOKS, MONEY AND RICHES FIRST AND BLIND YOU IN HIS SHORT-COMINGS TO AVOID POTENTIAL PROBLEMS AFTER MARRIAGE.

I rest my case
pls permit me to copy and paste dis ur epistle to d pretty lady of my dream omotayor123. I love her in proxy.
