prettmum:Yeah I'd do one soon, I'm too busy trying to poo right now I ate too much Udara this week now my bumbum feels like it's been sealed shut by one strong poo ![]() |
myrygurl:Hey welcome new teamie, sorry about your discomfort. Lots of mamas have complained about their babies being in breech position. If you know how to use the nairaland search button, search 'baby breech' and you would find lots of mamas that have been in your shoes before. The prayer would be that the baby changes position before delivery and we still have atleast ten weeks left for the to happen. Welcome to #teamApril, I'd add your name to the next roll call. |
prettmum:Lol it means the honey is cooking . More seriously, pele, just endure, I pray the discomfort ends soon. |
hunniesuzie:Lol @ no Jupiter, I know that feeling. Oya tomorrow is here ![]() |
hunniesuzie:Lol I guess there's different grades to every item on the list. Me I got a bath set as a wedding gift so I shall not be worrying my head about that one. Do and get home, I'm looking forward to an update. I'm also really curious about how much a set of decent quality onesies cost |

Rofemiguwa, those pictures you post are giving me serious baby fever, can't wait to have my own chubby cheeked little girl that I can also put in cute little outfits |
Congrats Jazzyjazz, your baby is cute. Congrats Dunni29, nice birth story, I can imagine being at work hours before delivery ![]() |
bimsusy:Lol, reminds me of my last antenatal. When it was time to get my routine drugs, all the people in charge were suddenly nowhere to be found. After sitting and waiting for them for a few minutes, I realized I was only wasting my time cuz I haven't even touched the ones they gave me last month or the month before that. So I jejely left that one for them and was on my way, until we meet again. Woke up this morning and said lemme come and read Jazzyjazz's birth announcement, not knowing all other mamas where thinking the same thing lol. |
opejulie10:So sorry about that, try to keep your spirit up for the baby's sake. Since it's a family issue, I think going to work on Monday would be a good idea so that you can get it off your mind for a few hours, also try to go to church today if you are a Christian, might help put your mind at rest. Plenty hugs. |
Dazzle86:Lol, all options must sha be open for me. That's one thing I've learnt from all the plenty stories. |
folamee:Hi teamie, Incase you don't get a reply soon, just type dosunmu market in the nl search button and select the health section, you would find more than enough answers to your question |
Yay my teamies are back from the village Welcome back. Mydreams25, your tests are probably just routine and would come out fine, Dharyour1234, prettmum, I can see able mamas have answered your questions. Titony1 I see I still skipped your name in subsequent roll calls, I'm a bad cappo, so sorry about that, pls supply me your EDD and baby gender. Sorry about the bumbum pain. Ahnie, how's the baby doing.Sansa143, be strong, all the drama would still be a thing of the past someday. As for the birth stories, if they scare you, think that 15 year old girls have also done it ![]() Btw I think I'm going to inquire about epidurals at the hospital today just to know all my optionsCongrats to all mamas who have given birth and dropped birth stories. January mamas, time to start commoting from the road, so that team April can be moving closer .Another roll call coming up soon since you guys have returned from hibernation. I pray for everyone experiencing any form of pain in their bodies, for the healing hand of God to bless us with a stress free third trimester as it's fast approaching. |
The last two pictures, bleaching cream |
mistayeancah:Sorry but I'm not a doctor. From experience weird problems like this are best taken to the general hospital as early as possible. When you start treating yourself without knowing the source of the issue, you would only be prolonging it. |
Hi LaDivva |
kemifemi:Welcome aboard |
Sansa143:Yeah our teamies have all hibernated again. I did a roll call two days ago where I included your name, guess you missed that abi you want everyday roll call . Go and reply that one first. |
ebony13:There's no mixed feelings o, this is a miracle. God has decided to answer all your 5 years prayers at once. Congrats, welcome back and happy bumping. |
nicoleswizzi:I'm clueless, the question would be better answered by mums. Mydreams25, Zaynie, onegai, all other mamas |
This was posted by onegai earlier this year, I'm reposting for anyone who needs it. Sorry for the long post ![]() Diapers (buy one pack newborn, 2 packs size 1 and one pack size 2, to get you through that first few weeks. Then buy according to size after). newborns can go through 8 diaper changes daily (!!!! ) and boys pee more, but don't buy too many because you can't predict size of your baby and you don't know quickly they will grow (I've seen a baby go from newborn to size 2 in 3 weeks). so at least 1 or 2 pack of newborn diapers will hopefully last you for a week and if your baby still needs newborn, buy weekly. If after it finishes your baby needs size 1, at least you have 2 packs at home to give you time before having to run to the supermarket or market to buy more. Baby wipes: look for the unscented ones, less likely to irritate skin. Diaper rash cream: Sudafed is what all my sisters used (especially the one who is a pharmacist). But try and change your baby once it gets wet so it's not sitting in a wet diaper that ends up causing diaper rash. onesies (if you're in Nigeria, get the sleeveless or short sleeved version. Do the same, one pack of 5 newborn, a one pack size 0-3). try not to buy too many newborn sizes as babies grow like beans (very quickly). Even better, inherit some from others (I just got a lot of onesies and newborn clothing from someone whose baby has outgrown hers, so I didn't bother buying clothes). Same with clothes and shoes, try not to buy too many until 3-6 months (God knows how many times I have been driven insane looking for one leg of baby shoe or sock that fell somewhere. And it wasn't even my own pikin sef grin ) get a few mittens until your liver is strong enough to file or cut those really sharp baby nails (because they will scratch their faces). Receiving blanket, a few caps and some wrappers for swaddling. Ejoor look for really thin wrapper (the old type they sold was better and cotton, a breathable fabric which means less heat. So raid a parent's cupboard for their old wrapper). Or buy muslin swaddle blanket (size 44"x44" minimum). Burp cloths: I don't like the terrycloth ones (those ones that look like towels) because they don't absorb well. Instead get the cotton clothe diaper (that rectangular fabric that's thick). Works like a charm and sometimes cheaper. Do you have a car? If yes, get a car seat (convertible preferred over infant but you will most likely find infant more in Nigeria). Chicco and Graco make good brands. It's upto you to decide if you want to buy pacifiers. One pack should be fine. Bassinet and cot: if you can also inherit this from someone, do (they tend to be pricey). If not, just buy a travel bassinet and remember some babies hate cots (though eventually you will want your bed back and kick the baby out to their cot). Towels: don't buy baby towels, they are usually very thin and stay damp longer and breakdown faster (mine was from Mothecare). Preferably buy regular very soft towel (100% cotton) which will last longer. Same with washcloth. lots of small nylon bags and big trashbags for diaper disposal and a pack of Baking soda and a good dustbin with a lid. When you dispose of dirty diapers, use a good bin with a tight cover and sprinkle some baking soda at the bottom of the dustbin (this helps to trap odours). At the end of the day, you tie up trashbag and take it outside (instead of constantly running after every diaper change to fling it). Baby set: please look for one that has nail cutter, thermometer, comb, nasal pump, baby medicine spoon, nail file. Avent sells one like that. No need for stroller, especially if in Nigeria. Which road is not dusty and uneven unless you're in the mall. Get a baby carrier (Bjorn makes good ones, they're expensive but I inherited my sisters own 10 years later. Quality is cheaper in the long run). Diaper bag: lots of decent ones out there (I got a messenger bag type so my hubby could carry it, my sister used a strong backpack). Look for one that has changing pad inside it. Olive oil and Shea butter for body cream rather than baby body creams. I hear most of the Johnson's on the market is fake and at least Shea butter is cheap, natural and does a beautiful job, same with olive oil. Baby wash Bibs (look for one size fits all). Treated mosquito net Bouncy chair and activity gym (so you can keep your baby somewhere if you need to have your hands free, like when bathing or cooking or just watching tv or answering the phone. Activity gym is for when baby starts rolling, put it on the floor (because I'm tired of hearing stories like "my baby rolled off the chair and fell on the floor, should I go to the hospital?? ". an electronic sterilizer set (microwave) because all the doctors in my house dislike sterilizing tablets. But it is your choice sha. Avent makes one sterilizer set that comes with feeding bottles so no need to buy any more. Plastic spoon and plate (but you won't need this for a while). Are you breastfeeding, pumping or doing formula? Please don't dress your baby up more than you. If you feel hot, your baby feels hot (even faster). If you feel cold, your baby feels cold (even faster). So unless you're constantly in an a.c. on blast, ejoor let your baby relax and use less clothing. Yes, Mama Nkechi or Mama Teni will have all sorts of unnecessary and unwanted advise to give you, but please listen to your common sense. Please listen to your common sense more. Please don't give your child baby paracetamol or agbo to drink. The only person giving you medical advise should be a pediatrician (who will also tell you what to do and how to treat circumcision and umblical cord. Have y'all started baby shopping. I plan to start in Jan. Have you gotten your hospital lists? I'd repost a list of baby things someone posted earlier incase anyone is like me and still not sure what to buy. Hope baby is still kicking strong. Y'all keep us updated. Special welcome to Sansa143 who just joined #teamApril Congrats to all the December mamas that have offloaded. #teamAprilformiraclebabies #easterbabies #replykwanu ![]() |
Sansa143:Was relieved to hear you've finally informed your parents, if they give you the option of remaining in school while pregnant, please accept it cuz it would be harder trying to start again after baby comes. Glad you've finally registered for antenatal and the baby is ok, and the dad is getting involved. Did you complain about the pain? I pray everything keeps going well. |
Sansa143:Hey teamie, how's your back feeling now. |
cococandy:Lmao, this word just summarizes it. No need to waste energy |
queensnow:Everyone can post on google so you shouldn't trust everything you read there. I don't think there's been enough research to determine exactly what pineapple does and exactly how much of it is safe, such information would have to come from a peer reviewed journal or something in that category. In any case I think any mama eating pineapple should eat wisely. Me I so much disliked pineapple before pregnancy but since I got pregnant I've been craving it like crazy, so I eat it when I can't resist. |
Naomi14:Aww kudos on your first roll call, this is called taking the bull by the horn lol. |
makelove2m:Mtcheew, strong man ko, a man who cheats on his wife is as weak as they come, he doesn't deserve to be won. You men should stay there and be fooling yourselves. Op better find something else to channel your energy on, a new term is about to begin, so you can atleast find a school to teach, that would keep your mind occupied and ensure you are not total burden to whomever is accommodating you.. |
