PraisesG: So sorry dear, you have to be patient with the drugs, try calamine lotion or benzyl benzoate for the itching. Rub on the skin only. Benzyl benzoate is hot, please don't apply to baby genitals. Use izal to clean beddings and separate the infant's clothes from the rest of house,to prevent cross infection. Good luck. @Beatiegirl, to add to this, if you're gonna get benzyl benzoate, also make sure it doesn't get to the baby's eyes. This includes baby scratching her body then touching her eyes. That thing is a beatch in the eyes. Better still, just use calamine lotion. |

beatiegirl: Hello Mothers, Has anyone ever experienced of heard of Microfilaria in a 10 mths old, and how it was managed. The baby-sitter I brought had this Microfilaria (The blood tests I did, before letting her into my home did not reveal this). It is said to be like an infection of tiny worms swimming in the blood, and causing severe itching. Especially at night. I sent her home to treat herself immediately I found out after a failed attempt to treat her from scratching body, and then my baby started to fall ill frequently. Against the doctor's advice, I went for a lab test on her, and Microfilaria was found. It causes her to itch severely, and a rash that is spreading from her armpit to her stomach, thighs, legs and hands. The hospital I use opened up that they do not know what to administer, I left there and went to another one; they administered a combination drug Albendazole and DEC (FOR 14 DAYS). This is the third day, and the rash/itching seem to be increasing. I just hope I can find some form of head way here. Jesus, Mary and Joseph. I just googled it and seems the medicine they gave you is what's used to treat it. Try complete it first cuz some ailments get worse before they get better. If this doesn't work, Please take her to a general hospital. |

firstLadyy: Mine actually poops everyday. . But den it's still the same ish.. well, let me stop worrying since it seem not much of an issue.. Thanks for this input, I appreciate That flaws my theory then . Its actually an issue especially since it's daily. What did you change your diet to? People usually recommend eating more fruits and vegetables, esp pawpaw. And forsaking bread and other flour-based products. |

firstLadyy: Mothers pls come to my aid.. my 7weeks old poo is usually very difficult for her to poo.. it usually comes out lumpy like dt of an adult but soft.. unlike the normal wattery baby poo.. someone said it's what I eat.. i hv tried changing my diet but doest seem to change anything.. pls what food m I meant to avoid or eat the most as we r on EBF.. pls help a confused mum I've been having the same issue too. My baby poops like once in a week, and pooping day is usually a lot of drama and seems painful. My theory is that the poo loses most of its water in the body due to its long stay. I tried changing diet but the only thing that worked was taking lots of mangoes, but that one even gave him watery, then green stool so I gave up. I've just decided to take it as something he'd outgrow. It didn't happen with my DD cuz despite being EBF, she pooped everyday sometimes more than once a day and it's the same foods I'm still eating. |

theworldbest: Good evening house.my baby of 3weeks has rash on her kokolo(my older daughter word for genital).I went to the hospital n was told it's diaper rash...so tribotan baby was given to us.my wahala now is,will I apply the tribotan baby n Vaseline same time before wearing her diapers?? If it's a really bad rash, i apply the baby tribotan, and leave the baby without diapers for most of the day. But if it's just a small rash then i mix with small vaseline before I put the diaper on her. |

omonikiba: Hello mothers.
Please I need help.
My kids are too active, too hyper active. Never seen such busy kids!
One is 5 and the other is going to be 3, it's being crazy.
We always cause a scene whenever we go out. From running away and me running after them to so many other things. Car almost ran into one of them some weeks ago. I felt weak, someone even insulted me and looked at me disgustingly cos of it, like i wasn't watchful or stupid not to put them to caution.
Once i pack they are ready to jump out of the car and begin to run. People say i dont allow rhem to go out, where dem wan go? Afterall they go to school.
My hubby is pisssd and am stressed over this attitude of theirs. I can't sit beside them, my 3 years old will turn my body to her play ground. I lock myself in my room 70% of the time. They hadly take a nap.
How do engage them properly? For now it's tv or playing with toils (which they dont fancy that much), i buy different toils and they get tired easily with them.
Am thinking of stopping oat for them, they take oat almost monday to friday before leaving for school. Could oat be the cause?
I don't want to start beating them so they wont get used to it and become stubborn.
Am seriously thinking of resigning my job, get a shop where they come to every day after school. Let them begin to go out now since them say I no dey allow them go out. Whenever we go out they become weird. You can always take them to play outside in the evenings or go to the park on weekends. Me I hide from GB a lot too, the small energy I have, cannot match her own. |

amSteph: Thanks. He sweats on his neck area even if he’s not wearing any top. The rash seems to be spreading. I’ll try the cream. It's heat, always happens to big babies. Make sure you always take time to clean the neck with a face towel at bath times and bath twice a day for now until the weather gets cooler. I can't even dare put powder on my kids unless on very cold days, if not the powder mixes with heat to create a way more nasty rash. Baby tribotan in small amounts always works, use fan or AC (but moderately) when it gets really hot. Use paper to fan or sit outside when there's no light and always dab sweat off him with a face towel when he's sweaty. Just try to avoid heat rashes as much as possible. It would get better as he grows older. |

amSteph: Hello moms. My 5month old has a very stubborn drool rash on his neck. I’ve tried fighting it with Agnesia powder but it seems to make it worse.also tried leaving it alone but didn’t improve. Am currently dabbing it with methylated spirit twice a day after his bath but still no improvement. I try to always keep the area dry from drool and sweat. Nothing has worked and it’s been weeks.
Please what else can I try to effectively extinguish this rash for good? Try baby tribotan, just very little at a time so he doesn't sweat more, and try to make sure he's always dressed for the weather and doesn't sweat a lot. |

myzone18: At the hospital, i was told not to add anything that it will fall off by itself. For my son, i didn't add anything and it fell off but this one is till attached even after 2 weeks. It's not smelling neither does it have any pus but it is till attached. My mum is asking me to use methylated spirit tobe cleaning it but the hospital said i shouldnt add anything that it will fall off. pls help as i am getting really afraid is somerhing is wrong. You can use spirit and cotton wool like your mum suggested, cuz I used for my two kids. But I think it also depends on the weather. GB was born around this time of the year and hers lasted about 2 weeks. But my son was born during December harmattan, and it dried up and fell off in less than a week cuz the weather was drying everything up. No need to be scared anyway since everything still looks okay cuz it would still fall off, with or without spirit. |

Maltaleeza: Goodday. please help a ftm. my 4 months old baby eyeballs are red. Though, he has boil and it has bursted and it's drying up. Do you think its the boil pain that is making is eyeballs red? cc Giddyperson, Zaynie, FloraEC I saw this before but I don't know. Red eyes might mean he's stressed or in pain, boils are usually very painful so that might be it. Poor baby, I know what boils did to GB. If the boil dries up and his eyes are still red or new boils pop up, pls take him to the hospital. |

Bomgirl: I marinated mine overnight with lotsa spices. Then next day, I put it in my baking tray, put knobs of butter and wedges of lemon and placed in my already preheated oven. I had some leftover spice mix I kept rubbing on it and turning intermittently till it was done. Made a very spicy pepper sauce and served together. I don't know if this helped. Can I see a picture of it please if you have one, did the end result look like the one I posted? Thanks |
