itzmoni: Please my wife just bought cow and gates for our 3 months old baby girl and this time the cover was greens and not the normal red..plus there was no seal on it...her excuse was that all of them on the shelf was green and had no seal on them..please anyone had experience with fake cow and gates.?. No seal how? Do you mean the outer seal had been tampered with or there was no inner foil seal. Which of the seals in the pictures was missing? I don't use cow and gate, but read the container to make sure the formulas she bought is still for a 3 month old.

viettastitches: he isn't sick. I am breastfeeding even though he doesn't really take much. I have been trying different food all to no avail.the only thing he can manage a little is pap(with plenty fight o) Wow he doesn't really seem to like anything. Just keep trying different tastes sha. If he doesn't seem to like sweet food, then try sour or bland. Pap with crayfish and no milk. Mashed Irish potatoes. He's 6 months so id assume you're just starting. It would take a while for him to get used to and for you to know what he likes. So if he takes 4 spoons of any food, count it as a victory for now and still breastfeed him as often as possible. |

Ruthiegal: Hello moms in the house. Please I need your help. I’m 14 weeks pregnant and I’ve alresdy registered for ante natal in a hospital and I was given some drugs to take once daily . Don’t know their names. I feel there are other drugs recommended a pregnant woman should be able to take for development of the child e.g for strong bones . I’m really scared. I want a very healthy and strong baby without defects. What drugs can I buy at the pharmacy for this. Also can I still take folic acid ? Someone suggested pregnacare plus. I’m a first time mom to be so I really don’t know and my next ante natal date is next week Thursday. Don’t want to wait that long. Thank you You like medicine. Just find a good hospital and take the drugs they give you. You sound like you expect a truckload of medicine. It's mostly folic acid and ferrous that are constant, then they may increase along the way depending on your symptoms or the stage of the pregnancy. You'll be treated for malaria or given malaria prevention tablets at some points and they also add calcium tablets once your baby starts getting bigger or so. Just sha find a good hospital and do what they tell you. Next Thursday is not too far too. |

Pearl05: How do you cope and manage with your breast after delivery. Had my baby on Tuesday and baby's jaw is not strong yet to suck very well. I couldn't sleep last night as my breasts were as heavy as big stones were loaded inside. Very heavy and painful too. Please is there anything I can take to manage it?
Gid
No waka pass your home girl biko. Don't be discouraged, keep trying. He would soon get the hang of it. You can also massage the breast with hot water to feel a lil relieve. |

DollyBig: Hi mamas!
I need recommendation on a good soap and lotion for a 6months old.
I have a very light skin baby boy. Up till now I use Johnson baby soap (the yellow packet that is white inside). For cream I use Shea butter mixed with coconut oil and palm kernel oil (I mix it myself)
Recently my mother in law has been on my neck that my baby is getting darker. Please what do you all use for your fair babies? That Johnsons is not a nice soap at all. You can try the Johnsons that comes in pink pack or sebamed baby soap, its really good. Shea butter should be ok. |

Bloomingbud: Hello mamas,
What beverage can I give my 15 month olds pls? I've given Milo a couple of times and they like it but i feel its too sugary. I checked junior Horlicks online but I don't think its readily available in market nor for children younger than two years. They have very good appetite for food so I need something that can come in place of cereal, pls don't waka pass o. Soymilk, and by this I don't mean making soy milk but adding soya bean powder to milk and water until its not too watery, GB used to like it. Plain cocoa, tho it's bitter |

peggygee: RANT TIME.
So I went to register for Anc in an Abuja general hospital @18weeks, and was book for the next 4mnths which happens to be my month.
I told the nurse that it's my delivery month, and she said there is nothing she can do.
I thought they will check how far I was and book my first appointment...I was so disappointed and I've been thinking .....
Although I'm not a FTM, I registered very early during my first, as a jjc, so I wanted to form senior mom's this time , but this people shocked me.
Pls is this how all general hospital operate?
Is it safe for me to stay for a whole 4 mnth b4 my first appointment?
I'm kinda worried.
I don't know if other general hospitals here operate same way.
Pls you momas shud advice me mbok
Hubby said I'm not a novice so I shudnt bother, but I am 4 months is fine to start appointments, especially if you have no prior history. This doesn't mean you can't still go to the hospital if there are any issues and as a second time mum you already know when everything's ok and when it's not. I didn't start earlier than 4 months for my first and second baby, just start taking your prenatal tablets from day 1. |

hunniesuzie: Congrats mama
re the bolded, a doctor has no right to withold any information about your baby from you. That is unprofessional behaviour
FTM's don't feel kicks as quickly since they don't know what to look our for. If the movement you feel is like fluttering, then that's it. If you have any concerns you can go and do another scan with a professional who will also tell you you baby's sex if you want to know
Other mamas will come and suggest hospitals in the area for you She said it's the doctor that refused to tell her the gender. Well I read on this thread that some hospitals have it as a policy not to disclose baby's gender. I think I read about one Catholic hospital on this thread, they won't tell because they don't want you to go and abort the baby if it's not your preferred gender I also read about the NHS UK maternity units no longer disclosing gender because they had gotten it wrong a lot of times and people were beginning to sue them left right and centre What would be weird is if a sonographer refused to disclose gender. @peggygee @crownzeal |

crownzeal: Hi Mummies, It's my first time here, a ftm, 20 weeks gone Team September 29th , am not even sure cause the last scan the doctor said 19th Sept. And he said he doesn't tell the sex of the baby. I am.not even sure I know what a baby kick is or have felt it. I sometimes feel a little movement and see a lump around my belly button that goes disappears after some time that was around 18, 19 weeks. This week I don't think have felt a thing. I just pray and believe all is well with my baby.
Also, please can anyone recommend good private and general hospitals around Sangotedo. I have read a lot and learnt on this thread. I pray God sees us through this journey....Thank you. Since this is your first pregnancy, it would take a while for you to really feel/know baby kick but as the baby gets bigger, he would soon become drummer boy or girl and you can't mistake the movements. The baby usually becomes active if you take something sugary like fanta. You can try that or just go for a scan to calm your self. You should stick to the date of your first scan or your lmp date because the date would keep changing at every scan. The earliest is always the most reliable. I don't know about hospitals, hopefully mamas that know would come and answer you. |

jamesbridget13: Una good evening o. Pls i would like to know from experience mamas how long it takes stitches to totally heal.
I was stitched after d birth of my lo n its almost three weeks now i still have some thread down there. Though no longer painful but i can feel n touch this particular thread that's very hard n i begin to wonder when it will fall off. Pls o i need answer o
Sorry pls if i didn't use medical terms o Anywhere from 2-6 weeks is normal. As long as the stitches are still intact, just ignore it, they would finally dissolve or fall. Stop touching it, you can just look with mirror. |

beatiegirl: Hello Mothers, Has anyone ever experienced of heard of Microfilaria in a 10 mths old, and how it was managed. The baby-sitter I brought had this Microfilaria (The blood tests I did, before letting her into my home did not reveal this). It is said to be like an infection of tiny worms swimming in the blood, and causing severe itching. Especially at night. I sent her home to treat herself immediately I found out after a failed attempt to treat her from scratching body, and then my baby started to fall ill frequently. Against the doctor's advice, I went for a lab test on her, and Microfilaria was found. It causes her to itch severely, and a rash that is spreading from her armpit to her stomach, thighs, legs and hands. The hospital I use opened up that they do not know what to administer, I left there and went to another one; they administered a combination drug Albendazole and DEC (FOR 14 DAYS). This is the third day, and the rash/itching seem to be increasing. I just hope I can find some form of head way here. Hey mama, any improvement? |

helen4: @ Chinnybaby99, Giddyperson. Thanks sis for your input on this issue. We don't believe in beating to correct, we only ground her like not taking snacks and so on though she eventually get to have them but not at the time she suppose to, that works like magic for her cos she loves them. Am just too worried for her because the scene kept playing repeatedly in my head and I cring everytime it does. Am seriously praying for wisdom to relay it to my husband so that we can get to the root of it. If you see her doing that again, ask her where she learnt it from and try to get some names. So that when you talk, it won't just sound like speculations. If she's just coming back from your hubby's parents house, please totally stop her from visiting them alone, they can always see her when all of you visit, plus your hubby can handle his people. But I assume this happened at her dad's parents house. If her dad is a responsible person, then he would take the issue seriously and maybe you guys can discuss limiting the unaccompanied visits to the village until she's a bit older. If he's the type that doesn't give a shyt, then that's where you have a problem. |

Chinnybaby99: This issue of sexual abuse. Also be prayerful. I would have said flog the demon out of the girl and send her back. She wants to maim a child you have been looking for but you know family people and world people. You just have to tread carefully. Please don't leave your child for her until you have thoroughly addressed the situation. May God protect our kids. We parents have to be vigilant. Jesus Mary and Joseph. Jesus Mary and Joseph Jesus Mary and Joseph The only issue here is with the grandparents who weren't watching the child properly. And whoever might have taught the child what she's acting. Not with the OPs innocent 5 year old daughter. Jesus, Mary and Joseph once again. |
