Health / Re: Fascinating To Hear That My Baby Has A Bad Breath! by Gifo(m): 2:49pm On May 11, 2011
@ poster:
When did the bad breath start, was it when he was growing his pre-molars, 'cause the 'tears' during the growth of the pre-molars(big tooth) attracts bacteria deposits that can cause bad breath.

Anyway, when we noticed this bad breath on our child we used mild TCP and cotton to dab and clean the tongue and teeth. After a short time it stopped. Yours could be different though.

Also note that, some people just see nairaland as a 'sexuality forumn'(how? It beats my imagination) where they could only talk about their misplaced fantasies; just ignore and respond to the ones you need.

Religion / Re: Assassination Attempt On Tb Joshua: Devil Is A Liar by Gifo(m): 10:58am On Dec 10, 2010
Lots of 'guys' just make comments because its free. It's not right to make bad comments about T.B. Joshua based on this story. People make hasty conclusions just on a report  or news. People are easily swayed by what they read or hear without testing the news a bit.

Prophet T.B. Joshua never said the man in question wanted to assassinate him. Infact, it was the prophet that walked up to the man, grabbed him and declared that he had a weapon on him. This and other cases are actually routine in the church, because people come to service with charms, knives or guns, some even kept or hidden outside the church.

You know, there is no point writing to explain all these. Just watch the LIVE service on EmmanuelTV every sunday or better still go for the service at Ikotun, Lagos. This particular case was televised live also. Most cable TV providers have the channel on their network; but I could also give out the frequency if required. Just take the step.

Don't be like the man last sunday who was prophesied for that said before 'over my dead body to go to Prophet T.B. Joshua's church'. He was there and glad/lucky he did.

Politics / Re: Jonathan Campaigner Quits Over President's Comment . by Gifo(m): 2:12pm On Oct 09, 2010
alexleo:

Any dog can wake up tomorrow and form a Jonathan support group and in some months time he writes a resignation letter to Jonathan ( as if it was Jonathan that gave him the job) with his reasons being that he doesn't like the way Jonathan chews bone. The press carries it and IBB supporters and others will begin to fan themselves that Jonathan's camp is dwindling. We are used to their foolish tricks.

I feel you, alexleo.

@poster, perhaps by now you've realised that you're using the wrong forum to advertise your product, hence the lack of response.

Not to dilly-dally, just go to auto section and advertise your car, you may also have to put the car's VIN number etc.lol.
Properties / Re: Architect And Builder, use us today to actualise that dream house, view designs by Gifo(m): 1:14pm On Oct 09, 2010
@archidon, why don't you just make a comment on your initial post to refresh it, rather than posting the same thing over and over again, thus flooding the system and pissing off potential customers?

Just make a new comment, or better still add a new picture on the initial post; that refreshes it and brings the post to the top, lol.
Car Talk / Re: Highlander Vs Pilot Vs Murano----advice! Advice ! Advice ! by Gifo(m): 4:36pm On Oct 08, 2010
@poster: Stick with Fhemmy's advice; that's it. Highlander for the year you listed and Pilot afterwards. But note that both of them are bestbuys. A close friend of mine has the Highlander in PHC and so far no complains, another has the Pilot, they're all good.

So Toyota Highlander first, Honda Pilot second.
Autos / Re: 2011 Hyundai Sonata - Hyundai Don Vexxxxxxxxxxx by Gifo(m): 9:13pm On Oct 06, 2010
Only HYUNDAI SONATA and BMW 5-SERIES got 5-star rating on the new Enhanced 5-Star Rating System for new cars of 2011 conducted by the NHTSA(National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). The rating system was upgraded and made tougher with only two cars mentioned above making 5/5 of the cars tested for 2011 models.

BMW we know, but Hyundai(Sonata) quite an achievement. No wonder it's a bestbuy in its class especially in the U.S.

Politics / Re: First Lady scolds governor in public. by Gifo(m): 9:07pm On Aug 25, 2010
Fact is that online forumn love a ruckus.

I'm actually watching the footage of the meeting on State TV. I see them very calm and physically close. Infact, the National First lady touched and held hands with the State First lady, while the Governor was calmly speaking; it was all good. And the State government didn't say there was any friction or scolding.

Pointing out the sensitivity of the issue of demolition is not a bad thing for any true Rivers indigene, because it is indeed a sensitive issue, and by discussing it and giving advice on how to handle it- dialogue- is not bad at all. Infact, it should be commended, because we better discuss it and be in peace than keep quiet, use force and go back to the old uncertain and dangerous times. God forbid!

So please, Rivers indigenes let's work together towards peace, non-indigenes should not come here to aggravate issues. Governor Amaechi and all, I bet you, dialogue is the best way to go with a genuine agenda. We are together @ all. Great  Rivers State, the Treasure Base of the Nation.

Obimek:

She could have still made her point without bashing an intellectual governor! Shame on her!
Indeed, she could have; but it is important not to miss that dialogue is the best way to go.

Sharon-f: Just take it cool a bit on her. You need to know that the vexing issue is a very sensitive one, and the tendency to be emotional is high. This comment does not however, condone any bashing of a public figure. The intricacies are more than just the faults of the first lady. It's a complex matter; and that is why I still think and wish that the matter be resolved amicably with dialogue.

@ Okija_j: She actually opted for the Minister of Health position, but politics at the presidency prevented that from happening. But in Nigeria everybody(almost) likes big position and money, so she took what was available.

Now we have seen that the position one occupies can bring the best or worst in one.
Family / Re: Why Do Many Nigerians Develop Accents Few Months After Leaving Nigeria? by Gifo(m): 5:06pm On Jun 25, 2010
As per the Poster's question,I think its just to blend with the environment; you know you have to speak in a manner as done by those around you, otherwise you'll be odd. But not when you're no longer in that environment, except you've spent quite a number of years that it has indeed become a part of you.

Over a decade working with expatriates; my wife says anytime I talk with them on phone or physically my accent changes, that is I speak like them. Well, I think it's just automatic switch for better communication. I come right back afterwards.

Bottomline is that you must definitely be influenced by the environment and people you interract with. But extreme cases like the poster raised would definitely be for small-times. lol

where is the baby residing, Europe or Nigeria? I'm a bit confused and a little slow on this Friday morning, In any case what would make one doubt the parternity of the 'supposed offspring' especially if one was engaging in sexual activity with the 'other concerned' party at the time of conception,

So many things really, if paternity worries one then by all means no need questioning the reasons, 'cause if it is not cleared the burden of doubt remains.
Religion / Re: What is Wrong With Prophet TB Jousha by Gifo(m): 8:17pm On Jun 22, 2010

@rotimy: TB Joshua wants to join PFN badly?? What for? He's on TBN, has received national award, has overflowing attendees, has the largest foreigners attendance in Nigeria, has the most prominent visitors from abroad- Heads of states, Kings, Consuls, Governors etc.

So join PFN badly? What for I say, what for?

Do you know one simple truth? The criticisms of prophet T.B. Joshua actually attracts more people to his church; the various attacks are actually publicising the the prophet and his church.

There is now serious scramble to access the church. Infact, there is massive overflow and quite a number are foreigners.
Religion / Re: Benny Hinn On Emmanuel Tv by Gifo(m): 7:34pm On Jun 22, 2010
So Ralphi of S.A. et al, since you are so anointed as to know the mind of God i.e. you know whom God will cast to hell or not by approving Prophet TB Joshua, why don't you tell God to heal/stop the numerous HIV/AIDS cases reported so the multitude of various cases coming for solution at the Synagogue will reduce.

Every religious quack and wannabe will just come and yab nonsense! If you have an evidence or an opinion, just present it politely and let people choose for themselves. Don't be God or judge because even now your aura is so low and that shows from your write-up. Or better still take this your campaign to and do a better job in your country to see if any will listen to you.

Clearly, I can see that even if the world acclaimed men of God approve of SCOAN, you would them call them false because of T.B. Joshua. So no point talking about this issue, even an angel of God can't convince you.
Religion / Re: Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo Speaks On T.b Joshua by Gifo(m): 9:53pm On Jun 16, 2010
@ All:
Prophet T.B. Joshua will continue to deliver and heal the afflicted, settle broken homes and set free the falsely accused in the name of Jesus. He will still entertain Heads of States(Prof. Atta Mills-Ghana etc), VIPs from all over the world improving our image abroad and boosting our tourism(Lagos Ikotun-Egbe people I hail oh). He will continue to provide for the handicapped and less privileged(they'll continue to bless him); continue to deliver armed robbers and babalawos to make us safer. He continues to sponsor football producing young players for the country from his club (including U-17 MVP Emmanuel, No.1 Goal-keeper etc). He would continue to,

As I'm fasting and praying to get my enlightenment, when I start to perform in Jesus' name you'll ask me my mentor(pastor) a be? Well na Jesus and Holy spirit.

For those playing God or those who think they are soldiers for God fighting for Him and judging, well God has a host of angels that can do that. Criticism of Prophet T.B. Joshua no matter the volume will pass, infact these are the things that make him popular and attract more people. Just keep doing it; but just one thing in mind, what if he has the true anointing of the Holy Spirit; what if? Have you examined your life, have you reached your peak, perhaps could you redirect your energy into positives for yourself, others around you and the nation? Perhaps you can install and watch EmmanuelTV, It may change your life for good. Peace @ All.
Autos / Re: Why Are Toyota Prices Rising by Gifo(m): 11:34am On Jun 15, 2010
tybaba: I observed the same thing about the prices. It seems to be a strategy rather than an increase in cost of production. Like saying 'don't think we are unreliable because of the issues we have, we're still tops'. You know, the way it is in naija there is general price increase, you can get a top range Camry pursuing N8million, not even a bulletproof, damn!
Music/Radio / Re: Nigerian Artistes That Should Quit Singing(time Up) by Gifo(m): 4:50pm On Jun 14, 2010
4llerbuntu: yes I,m with you, perhaps Emilo should give names of the 'good' ones. I think the poster's request is for expired artistes(time-up), not necessarily artistes you don't like, because some of the artistes in your list are current on the rave artistes selling and making millions with a large fan following. Anywhere they go, they holla their names.

Its may be easy to list names of artistes one doesn't like, but million others may love them and they may still be selling their albums in millions- making millions of naira.

In short, as per the topic any artiste who doesn't move the crowd, sell albums, not invited to shows, poor or dwindling fan following, does not attract excitement from fans and alike, not on rave et c, those are the signs.
Career / Re: I Am Confused - Job Satisfaction Or Renumeration? by Gifo(m): 2:23pm On May 20, 2010
My brother, keep the job with the greater remuneration.

You know nothing is permanent is this country, and you need the money to secure yourself and your family. After you've done that, then you can think of job satisfaction.

The hustle of Lagos you can adjust to, but work on how you can quickly start living together with your family. Your wife would be a graduate soon and a bigger family may come along, the need for money will increase and if you can't meet up you would be frustrated. By that time job satisfaction will no longer be the issue!

So, secure yourself financially/economically et c. then seek job satisfaction afterwards. Or better still learn to 'love' what you're doing and excel as much as you can now.
Car Talk / Re: BMW X5 Vs Mercedes-Benz ML - Which Would You Choose? by Gifo(m): 8:10pm On Apr 29, 2010
Well said, Siena both generally and technically. Your stance and clarity on issues are outstanding!

Clearly, the choice has been made- @ all.

By the way, I checked the Audi Q7 reliability issues on some sites, not bad really so far. MSN autos Q7 owners review 2007-2009 model actually averaged 9.2/10, an excellent review if I may say. But like Siena clearly stated time will tell; but I think it will tell favourably as it has done so far.
Car Talk / Re: BMW X5 Vs Mercedes-Benz ML - Which Would You Choose? by Gifo(m): 1:36pm On Apr 29, 2010
@ All
The X5 with all the hype hasn't beaten the ML any knockout blow here, it just trickled past, even despite the passionate appeal by fans- harakiri etc, lol; somehow in line with my earlier post of reality on ground.

Siena is very much in order by talking about the Audi Q7. Its no secret that that is his first choice if circumstances were different- check other threads. He needs genuine opinion, so we bring in related items; that's why the thread is hot- so interesting.

@ Wallie: Jeremy of Topgear doesn't hate everything German. His review of Audi A8 and Volkswagen Touareg were topnotch some years back. I don't share your view there.

Bottomline is that folks tend to be emotional about what they like and their opinion. The Audi Q7 has authority.

Car Talk / Re: BMW X5 Vs Mercedes-Benz ML - Which Would You Choose? by Gifo(m): 2:21pm On Apr 28, 2010
Platinumnk
My observation was based on what I see here in naija. I don't thrill for any of them SUVs, but I like the Q7. I know that OP is in the UK, and his contributions are well Nigerianised even though he's there(i don live and work there--oo). The fact is that I didn't really know X5 has such admiration and following, and I'm equating what I see with what I'm reading; easy. lol

Q7 is a big brother to Touareg, and It's a nice machine.
Car Talk / Re: BMW X5 Vs Mercedes-Benz ML - Which Would You Choose? by Gifo(m): 1:51pm On Apr 28, 2010
Well, I do wonder if the answers given here are just based on aspirations? You know, the response here would seemingly suggest that everywhere you go in Nigeria you'll see BMW X5; but I tell you Benz ML is what I see on Nigerian roads more, even the new models. So people hate it this much and we still see it all over? I'm amazed.

I thought that the common parlance in an average Nigerian here in Nigeria is that BMW are too electrical and are very complex to maintain, only good when new. That's what I hear really. So that's why I asked, if its the ideal wish that we are actually expressing here and not the real situation on ground.

I do like the X6 though, saw it in PHC. But for value I think Audi Q7 is an all-rounder.
Car Talk / Re: Police Or VIO: Who Should Check Road Worthiness Certificate? by Gifo(m): 10:05pm On Apr 26, 2010
George_D:

seal,
unless you can prove this with the law, you might as well be talking to the empty air as far as our police 'friends' are concerned.

another thing, wouldn't it be foolhardy arguing with a hungry policeman with a loaded gun under the hot afternoon sun?

Apt question that! After you are kept for hours and very well frustrated I bet you wont see a law court on the highway to prove your case.
Car Talk / Re: Police Or VIO: Who Should Check Road Worthiness Certificate? by Gifo(m): 11:21pm On Apr 23, 2010
@George-D
I had a similar experience that made me part 2grand at Abia highway enroute to Ebonyi from P.H. I gave the same reason of not being a commercial vehicle and even a brand new car bought in P.H. That didn't stop them. Rather they asked 'what if it has had an accident new or not?'. Other vehicles were also being stopped and those not complying being threatened to be taken to the police station. I had to pay to continue my journey.

On my return I promptly got one at 2grand just to have easy travel. In Naija, you can't really beat these guys, can you?
Autos / Re: The Best Suv To Buy - Help! by Gifo(m): 10:28pm On Apr 23, 2010
Like Kunle-A suggested Toyota Highlander, it fits most of your specification; otherwise I'll suggest the Lexus RX300/330 an upped version of the Highlander (brothers really).

One thing though, with an SUV you must slow down at cornering, that specification required wont work with an SUV due to high clearance.
