@Jenju apt. You are in the know, very thorough and pleasingly diplomatic. What more? Keep it up.
Autos / Re: Okada Ban In Portharcourt by Gifo(m): 11:32pm On Jan 23, 2009
The ban itself is a welcome development; only that the palliative measures are a bit short coming. The government-promised buses should be made available to ease the stress.

Meanwhile, we can help give lift to our known neighbours.
Autos / Re: Petrol now N65 per litre ! by Gifo(m): 12:55pm On Jan 23, 2009
And besides, the drop from N70 to N65 is not proportional to the fall in crude oil price, the reason for hiking the price in the first place.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Obama Orders Guantanamo Closure by Gifo(m): 12:21pm On Jan 23, 2009
The volume and intensity of the comments on this topic awes one to thinking. Do we have a problem with Obama? I have searched the US news and I just don't feel this same intensity on this issue. Are we rather hastily pessimistic to this government? Or we may be better advisors to the US president inspite of the topnotch advisors sorrounding him? Or do I sense a hint of contempt for Obama?

Well, we can give this new administration the benefit of the doubt. Because I don't personally think Obama and his administration would lead America to harm or destruction; and besides US needs the world's support to fight terrorism and the likes.

Religion / Re: Pastor T. B. Joshua: The Man in the Synagogue by Gifo(m): 4:43pm On Jan 17, 2009
@JANNSEN et al
Its disappointing that you had to lift or refer to an obsolete(about 9yrs) information/write-up about Prophet T.B. Joshua based on speculation. Have you been to the synagogue? Have you seen the multitude of less privileged he has given hope and survival? Have you seen the heads of state and governors from other countries visiting the church? Have you seen the increasing number of foreigners visiting Nigeria because of the Synagogue Church of all Nations? Have you seen the integration of people with different ethnicity, colors, origins at the church? Have you seen the souls that have been saved due to their conversion to christianity and their believe in Jesus Christ?Have you seen those who proclaimed believe due to the shear miracles of Jesus Christ perfoming through the prophet? Have you seen the abandoned octogenarians and older being given care? Have you seen the shear love, joy and beauty at the Synagogue Church of All Nations?

God forbid to pray that you have a deep spiritual problem such that only T.B.Joshua can pray for your deliverance; that would be a grave sin. Otherwise, I would have suggested that, so that you can have a firsthand experience yourself. Since the devil cannot be divided in his kingdom, then only Jesus could deliver you then. Because it seems, this is the only way you can believe the power of the Holy spirit working through the Man of God in the name of Jesus. Sorry for this my approach, I just cann't see another way to make it clearer.

Last month Fruit of the Womb gathering attracted an unprecedented number of people all over the world such that the large church could not contain. The outside gathering was even equal to or more than those in the church. Live fibroids where seen delivered from women live in the church. Even if you doubt all the other miracles this you will see live, because it could just happen to someone besides you who has been sitting normal for some hours. Just because of the chronic doubters, the cameramen had to show live in the church as close as decently possible, the actual source of the fibroids falling out. Its not nudity, its just the pure and unalloyed miracle of God by the Holy Spirit through the annointed Man of God,Prophet T.B.Joshua happening in Jesus Name!

The man has been reconciling families at an unprecedented rate. Those who have been in enmity for years or wrongly accused to be witches, ostracized by their communities due to wrong accusations were reconciled and appeased, this is still ongoing. The families are happy, and we are here attacking that which has brought so much joy to people. I bet that most attackers here have no genuine charity in their hearts. What have we done to uplift mankind, humanity and our neighbours. What have we done for God?

Infact, a little girl called Deborah now 10yrs old whose prophecy the man of God made that caused so much controversy was in the church live and the Prophet said such a child wouldn't have been alive today giving glory to God. While the girl was very happy with her parent for being delivered and alive (doctors said there was no child in her mother's womb- long overdue pregnancy)people are here attacking the Man of God. The church membership is increasing and gaining popularity worldwide, yet someone is still thinking backwards. Old habits die hard they say.

Finally, there was one thing that touched me, the Man of God said there could have been more 'Deborahs' saved if not for the uncountable and unfounded attacks on the Prophet that discouraged so many people in bondage from visiting the church for help. The church was/is overfull now because people/doubters are now believing, the same people that vehemently attacked the Prophet are now coming in droves to the church to seek help. A solution that could have come ten years ago!
Career / Re: Oil Companies/Banks Starting Salaries (Nigeria) by Gifo(m): 2:42pm On Jan 17, 2009
The fact remains that Oil and Gas companies are among the top payers. We don't need to go into details of the amount being paid. But rest assured that if you can get yourself to work there, you will not be disappointed.

That said, for those who may think that oil and gas workers have enough cash to do father christmas or for people to steal, etc, please note that they (oil workers) usually have the highest encumbered salaries by loans and other credit facilites etc, such that their available cash at month end may be next to nothing. This is so because banks and other credit outfits see them stable enough to do business with, to give credit facilities without collateral.

Ofcourse, you will see them doing fine in society, new cars, fine houses, but cash is usually scarce. But just get employed, you may not regret leaving the banking sector, unless you are a manager already.
Autos / Re: Hyundai Elantra ! Beauty Defined In Car by Gifo(m): 11:24pm On Jan 14, 2009
Infact, if you are in Nigeria you will find that there is a craze running for new compact cars; Kia,Hyundai and Chevrolet are also among the tops.

Specifically, where I work there is a drive to purchasing these mentioned cars simply because some other colleagues who had the courage to buy and use these cars earlier have not reported negative feedbacks as implied here. I used to be a sceptic as well, but I now know better.

Elantra and new Kia optima are a current drive among a number of my colleagues. I don't think they will go for these cars to waste their bucks. Not the Nigerians I know.

Anyway, we are currently waiting for the January batch of 2009 Hyundais in P.H. lol grin

Autos / Re: Hyundai Elantra ! Beauty Defined In Car by Gifo(m): 8:49pm On Jan 13, 2009
Comparison of Elantra should be made wrt the class;compact car. It is cheaper by up to or more than N1.0m to Corolla,Civic, so depreciation may have been compensated for by the cheaper price.

If you want a stable car at traffic breaking speed, then save the money to buy cars in the large car class. Stability of Camry cannot be compared to that of Elantra simply becos they are not in the same class.

Meanwhile, all car makers have really come along way,Hyundai inclusive. Pls checkout 'recommended' Elantra review: http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/2009-hyundai-elantra-5.htm

No one wants to interfere with a biz man's price to avoid mis-interpretation. But honestly, the prices are way high thus discouraging one giving it a second thought.

I was amazed at Carmelily's comments myself. To call Asa fake as well 9ICE; well she's entitled to her opinion but I wonder if she may have some success/quality-of-others  phobia .

I wonder if some guys know the law of Reverse Effects.

I see a lot of Yahoo! disclaimer posts on Inspired_m; while not bad to alert people of suspicions, too much of something may result to a reverse effect and the credibility of the initiator may then be questioned.

Just a candid line of thought.lol

I'm really impressed by the position respectable guys like ZionTrain are taking on this issue, your tone is mature and the way it ought to be.  Toba 1909 I think you are firing steam a bit prematurely making you come up as ready-for-a-fight.

I swear Nigeria can't develop with this kind of people amidst the citizens.

As per your quote, well development does not mean absence of differing views or people for that matter, you can come home and be an active developer.
The fact remains that even as of now Nairalanders are still patronising Inspired_Men despite all the heated issues of recent. So there must be something; nairalanders are not fools I think. You may be actually aiding his popularity by your enthusiasm. So what's the fuss?

Car Talk / Re: New Cars Vs Tokunbo Cars In Nigeria by Gifo(m): 12:46am On Sep 29, 2008
Ivvie:

There is hardly profit to be made in a new car.

Are you talking as a manufacturer or an importer?Because you actually pay the manufacturers cost of production and profit when you buy the new car; whereas when you buy say a year later, someone else has done the payment. And you buy a car still 'new' within the supposed 3yr trouble free time.

I don't think the main thing is about US or japan cars, all I'm saying is reality on ground and how the final user can have optimum benefit.I have also used US cars for years and I didn't/don't observe any accelerated wear or breakdown.Try buying a luxury car or near luxury car new -high cost, but after a year with very low mileage you would save a lot of bucks.

You didn't also comment on the other points I raised.

Gentlemen, I think in the spirit of unity we should avoid reducing this forum to a medium for personal attacks. If you have a point or observation about the way business is being conducted, you can make it known in a civil manner otherwise, let's just move on and get on with business.

Ziontrain, apt. That's the way it ought to be, this should be a civil forum. I'm happy you have shed the light clearly.
Car Talk / Re: New Cars Vs Tokunbo Cars In Nigeria by Gifo(m): 6:08pm On Sep 28, 2008
New car is good;but know that you are also paying a whole load of money to the manufacturers; you are making their profit. You could save a whole load of money by buying it a year later or some months after use. If it takes 3yrs for a new car to start having problems, then a car of some months old or a year could as well pass as new. Dont forget you save a whole load of bucks for other things.

The annoying thing though, is some toks have better features than new ones here.Except you pay to the roof.

Another thing is the so called 3yr warranty. By the time you queue up and heavily frustrated to service your car, you will end up servicing the car yourself. You may not be saving much afterall.

Ziontrain why don't you just shut the v,   up. You are appearing too loud mouthed and foolhardy. You don't have to insult those that disagree with you.

You may really be jobless you know, that's why you have so much time to junk the forum.

Autos / Re: . by Gifo(m): 12:47am On Sep 25, 2008
Though I don't comment much I have found this forum very useful. But something should be done about the small minds that do not even have enough to eat then talk of buying cars, they pollute the forum.

If I were Inspired_men I would just ignore the commons who do not really have anything to offer. Anyone who really needs a car will indeed contact the dealer directly, who say dem no dey buy accidented car or new car.

Like they say, water go find him level. Right now i'm dealing with Perrysolution, but I will certainly contact Inspired.

Zion doesn't know he is portraying a small mind himself, by not resting his oars on something already made clear by all.

Rest my case
