Phones / Re: Free Blackberry Unlocking Codes (NOT BLACKBERRY 10 DEVICES) by gistme24(m): 7:53pm On Dec 25, 2013
Lexusgs430:

Zero level trials means, your device can no longer be unlocked through unlocking codes and would cost you $60.00 to rectify !!! That is what it implies.

Ok Sir, but please How do I confirm the number of trials on the said device?

Thank You Sir.

Hello Sir, kindly assist with the unlock code for blackberry bold 9930 locked to verizon USA.

IMEI : 352016.05.434574.9
PRD: 39474-001

I was unable to get the MEP number. And I was also informed by a pal that it is at zero level trials, not sure what that implies.
Thank you in advance boss.

Sports / Sodje In Match Fixing Scandal by gistme24(m): 3:21pm On Dec 08, 2013
Former Nigerian player, Sam Sodje was filmed by the Sun on Sunday describing how he punched an opponent in a League One game to get a red card in exchange for £70,000.

In the video, which was filmed secretly, Mr Sodje also claimed he could rig Premier League games and was prepared to fix matches at next year's World Cup.

He also said he arranged for another player to be paid £30,000 for getting a yellow card in a Championship match.

It was also reported that Mr Sodje's brother Akpo, a striker at Tranmere Rovers, had said he would be prepared to be paid to be booked.

Career / Re: About Sap? by gistme24(m): 4:29am On Dec 06, 2013
@nnaiah some of the items listed, especially under consulting(industry practices and change management), I can relate with as I had issues with a client recently relating to these.

Another is End user Training. At any clienrt site, the deployed system is as good as the end users says it is, beacuse they are the ones who get to interact with the system the most. And once the users are unwilling to adapt to the new system, due to their long relationship with their flawed (my view) but dependable (their views) legacy system that gave them ways to cut corners. Red flag, so expect to put in extra resources for training and maybe GO LIVE READINESS.

@the_cia congratulations, wishing you a rewarding career in a your chosen field . I can assure you most of the "mentors" still follow this thread, but may not have had reasons to comment.
Investment / Re: How Long Does It Take For A Stockbroking Firm To Contact Someone? by gistme24(m): 6:56am On Dec 03, 2013
When shares are bought, you are given a share certificate stating the amount of shares and some other information. So the company you did the "Work" for should have provided that. You have no business with any stockbroking firm except when their is a need for the shares to be traded. Something does not add up here.
Do you have any claim of ownership for the shares ?
Investment / Re: How Long Does It Take For A Stockbroking Firm To Contact Someone? by gistme24(m): 5:22pm On Dec 02, 2013
I do believe it is odd that you were not contacted , at the very least, to be told the status of your account for that long. But has the firm been in touch ever since ?
Travel / UK Visitor Bond Scheme To Be Scrapped by gistme24(m): 9:40am On Nov 03, 2013
Plans for a £3,000 "security bond" for some "high risk" overseas visitors to the UK are to be abandoned, the Home Office has confirmed.

The visa bond scheme was announced by Home Secretary Theresa May in June and was set to be introduced this month.

A Home Office spokesman confirmed a Sunday Times report that the policy would be scrapped.

The decision is thought to have been taken after deputy prime minister Nick Clegg threatened to block it.

The aim of the scheme was to reduce the number of people from some "high risk" countries - including India, Pakistan, and Nigeria - staying in the UK once their short-term visas had expired.

Visitors would have paid a £3,000 cash bond before arrival in the UK - forfeited if they failed make the return trip.

Career / Re: About Sap? by gistme24(m): 12:06pm On Jul 04, 2013
markos: SAP is big business world wide, it is not for the faint hearted!! even in the UK, prospective SAP consultants complain about lack of opportunities, a career that is well paid will typically be hard for anyone to break in

I have been Certified for exactly a year now and yet to get any project opportunity. I say yet because I know I will soon. But am not losing any hope because from my research before i went into SAP ABAP, I was well informed about the challenges in this field.

What I have done is to take up a position as an ERP Consultant with a firm that uses Oracle Tech, and services the Insurance Industry . Better to start with SAP's biggest rival wink

My only grouse with SAP had to do with the term "project experience" . I mean where will I get that if not on a project ?

But I loved the analogy someone gave on this forum. About a man who has a very expansive car (SAP Project) and needs a driver (Consultants), will he employ one with just a license to drive ( Certifications) or one with experience driving
such cars.

The key is for us to always build a career on what we are passionate about, so that when tough times comes, the passion keeps us going. I had fun studying SAP ABAP, because of my love and background in programming, so it did not seem a big deal. And am still learning by follwoing SAP Consultants and mentors on twitter, reading SAP blogs etc.

My next port of call? HANA. Mobility has really been great .

In the Nigerian Context, things are always a bit different.

Back in March, I was looking to leave my Job for another, in fact I already had an offer from another firm, was just weighing my options when a former colleague of mine, who works with a Chinese Telecom firm here in Lagos, asked me to forward my CV .
I was called in for a Technical Test a week later. The test was in two parts, written and oral, conducted by two Chinese dudes . The questions were on core Linux, Oracle, and Java. I nailed them both. I did so well that the tech guys wanted me in as soon as possible.

In comes the Nigerian HR personnel. And it was a resounding NO. Reason being that I was running an online Degree program with a UK based university and had a year to go.

This may be a bit off topic, but my point is that here in Nigeria, we value paper qualifications more than knowledge .

Career / Re: Are Online Professional Courses Recognised By Prospective Employers? by gistme24(m): 5:11pm On Apr 28, 2013
tinnymerit: no not in Niger area, because ur cert will carry distance learning traing/cert.But u can still give it a dive sha.If u know some ogas at the top that can categorically tell u when and how to get job(s) then no 2 things invoved.

No sir, online degrees do not carry any such differentiations. Same way no part time degree bears such a mark.

CrazyMan: Truth is most potential employers in Nigeria don't accept online degree, and if you're presenting it to boost your already acquired regular degree (B.sc, Hnd..etc) it would in no way serve as an added advantage to you on employment basis.

Reasons why your online degree would be greeted with an austere approach include.

1. Lack of rigor.

2. Lack of face-to-face interactions with your lecturers.

3. Increased potential for academic dishonesty.

4. concerns about online students’ true commitment evident from regularly venturing to a university physical location, considered by some to be an important part of the educational experience.

5. Problems of tests and exams being too easy thereby reducing your learning capability and making you less challenged.

On the other hand, since you're planing to do it in the united states, you should focus more on the conditions that could influence your hiring process in the united states...they include.

1. Name recognition/reputation of the degree-granting institution.

2. Appropriate level and type of accreditation.

3. Candidates relevant work experiences.

Sir, online degree is actually considered to be more difficult because of the level of commitment and dedication needed to complete the course. Most require you spend not less than 30hrs a week teaching lectures. The only difference is that it is at your own time .

Easy? Most certainly not. If it is from a reputable school with the normal campus / student settings, then the only difference is the means of delivery of the lecture, their course content for online and normal student is the same.
Also, employers don't care if its online or not, in as much as you can defend it and prove your worth.
The major issue is your inability to partake in the NYSC

Guys, I grew up in that area and the said school is just a walking distance from my mum's house.

Having said that, the Oba is a big liar. His only occupation is to send omo onile boys to any property development project in the area, often led by one of his Sons. His other occupation is to claim govt land and sale it off, leaving the buyers to sort themselves out with the govt. He pulled this stunt with the large parcel of land just beside third mainland bridge.
Oworo is the most backward of all the communities in kosofe!

And the irony of it is that this dude is not an indegene of oworo. His mum came from oworo.

May the soul of the girl rest in peace.

Politics / Policemen Attached To The NNPC Kill Two NSCDC Officers, Set Pipeine Vandals Free by gistme24(m): 1:11pm On Mar 27, 2013
Two officers of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, were ambushed and killed by police officers attached to Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation according to information relived by eyewitnesses and also confirmed with the spokesperson of the NSCDC in Lagos, Okeh Emmanuel.

Two officers involved in anti-vandal activities were fatally shot as they drove in the NSCDC operational vehicle after arresting four vandals of pipelines belonging to the NNPC after they were caught siphoning fuel.

Some officers were also injured in the attack which took place in the Ikorodu axis of Lagos.

The vandals escaped after the fatal attack leading NSDCDC officials to believe the vandals were in cahoot with the police.

A wounded officer said the vandals made several phone calls to the police officers before they opened fire on the NSCDC patrol van. A police ID card, a gun and Walkie-Talkie belonging to one Inspector Sunday Gabriel were retrieved from the scene of the attack.

The Nigerian police spokesperson in Lagos did not respond to inquiries regarding the attack.

Earlier this year, Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun publicly accused officials of NNPC of conniving with pipeline vandals to undermine the Nigerian economy through theft of petroleum product.

His outburst followed the murder of 3 NNPC engineers last September near Arepo village in Ogun state.
