A shocking video of a Nigerian pastor kneeling down to beg three Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) officers on the road has gone viral on social media.

The pastor who was seen wearing a black priest cassock complete with the white collar for the robe.

In the video, the priest was seen kneeling beside the blue FRSC car known to all while the three officers watched him.

The officers were heard telling the priest to stand up as they walked away from him.

However, the video did not give any hint as to what might have happened to make a man of his status kneel down to beg the officers.

Born in New York in 1922, LaMotta was also known as the "Bronx Bull" and held the middleweight title from 1949-51. He left the sport with 106 fights, boasting a 83-19-4 record, including 30 knockouts.

LaMotta, who had a touch upbringing and a tumultuous life, was known for never letting up in his fights. He was immortalized in filmmaker Martin Scorsese's 1980 Oscar-winning movie about his life, "Raging Bull" which is also his nickname. Actor Robert De Niro won the Best Actor award for his portrayal of LaMotta in the film, which chronicled the fighter's turbulent life away from the ring.

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos state, Edgal Imohimi, on Tuesday September 19th, rescued the couple pictured above from a ritualist shrine in Ikorodu in Lagos state. The couple had reportedly gone to the town for spiritual help but on getting to the shrine, they met with the owner, Adedeji James, who planned to use them for ritual purposes.

Acting on a tipoff, the state police commissioner stormed the shrine and rescued the couple. The discovery necessitated yesterday's demolition of three shrines in the area.

Operatives of the Lagos state Neighbourhoood Safety Corps, LNSC has arrested 11 secondary school students suspected to be cultists. This was disclosed by CSP Adekunle Omisankin, the Divisional Police Officer of Olosan Police station.

According to Omisankin, the suspects who have been in operation since 2013 operating as students between 17 and 18 years old, all belonged to the ‘Gang Star’ cult and fingered to be terrorizing members of the public with dangerous weapons.

“One student-suspect was brought to our station by LNSC on Friday. Our investigation led to the arrest of 10 other students, including a female student,” Omisankin said.

The spokesman for the Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps, LNSC, Adewale Afolabi, said that they had also arrested a JSS3 student, who was allegedly terrorising members of the public with dangerous weapons such as knives and machetes.

Afolabi said that the suspect, who resides at 243, Agege Motor Road, Ojuwoye in Mushin, Lagos Mainland, was alleged to be a student of a secondary school in Igbo Owu, Kwara.

“He had been terrorising the people and students of the area. The LNSC operational team arrested the suspect following intelligence information from the public. He confessed to the crime and also exposed his 16-member gang by giving their names and their hideouts to the LNSC.” Afolabi said that the suspect had been transferred to the Olosan Police Station, Mushin for further investigation.

According to the National Emergency Management Agency (Nema), emergency workers in Kebbi State are carrying out search and rescue operations after a boat carrying more than 150 passengers capsized. So far, at least 33 bodies have been recovered and 84 people have been rescued.

Nema blames the accident on the boat being overloading with too many passengers. The people were travelling to a village market in Nigeria from neighbouring Niger.

The crowded vessel capsized near Lolo village in Nigeria's north-western state of Kebbi. According to reports, the accident in the remote area happened on during the week but it is only now that the details are emerging.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested the Gombe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Secretary, Dr Danlami Rukuje, over alleged diversion of materials meant for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

According to reports, Rukuje was arrested following a tip-off received by the Intelligence and Special Operations Section (ISOS) of the commission and the arrest was carried out by the EFCC officials at the Gombe Zonal Office on Wednesday.

'The materials, which include cans of paints and bags of cement meant as building materials donated to the state by the Presidential Committee on the North-East Initiatives (PCNI) never made it to the IDP camps. Investigations revealed that they were, instead, diverted to other areas including markets for sale. A team of operatives acting on the information, immediately swung into action and located shops where the materials were being sold. The Gombe State Fertiliser Grinding Plant, where some of the materials were kept, was also raided. A storekeeper at the state’s Emergency Agency, Isa Garba, was subsequently arrested. Further investigations led to the arrest of a staff of the state’s Fertiliser Grinding Plant, Mu’azu Suleman. The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded', the commission said.

Longtime character actor whose face had its own unique character, Harry Dean Stanton has died at the age of 91.

According to his agent, John S. Kelly, he passed away on Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Stanton appeared in more than 100 films and 50 television shows, including the films "Alien" and "Repo Man" and the series "Big Love" and the recent version of "Twin Peaks."

Stanton never married but is survived by his close friends and family.

A 37-Year-old HIV Positive man from Uganda was on Tuesday morning arrested for allegedly defiling his 11-year-old twin daughter.

Salongo Christopher Kityo, a fisherman operating at Gerenge landing site, in Nalugala Parish, Katabi Town Council was allegedly caught in the act by his 26-year-old wife Lydia Namiiro, after she had just returned home from a vigil in the wee hours of Tuesday morning to find Kityo drunk and stark naked.

According to New Vision UG, the victim narrated to her mother Namiiro, the ordeal she suffered from her father. Shocked by the findings, she immediately informed one of the security guards in the village who in turn contacted the Office in charge of Mpala Police Post, Joseph Ssekitoleko.

Before Police arrival, an angry mob had already beaten Kityo beyond recognition and leaving him for medical attention. He was later taken away to the Entebbe General Hospital for treatment before being taken to Mpala Police Post.

Namiiro told the police that her little daughters confided in her that their father has always sexually molesting them. She also claimed that her sex-addict husband also defiled their eldest daughter and infected her with HIV.

"Even our eldest girl who was born HIV negative, later contracted the virus and she is currently on ARVs courtesy of her dad," narrated Namiiro adding that Kityo refused to start anti-retroviral treatment.

When asked to comment on the allegations, Kityo denied defiling his daughter claiming that his wife carefully planned the whole incident in order to grab his plot of land.

Mr. Joseph, the officer in charge of Mpala Police Post condemned the act and revealed that Kityo will be charged with aggravated defilement under SD Ref: 07/1/09/2017.

American LGBT rights activist, Edith Windsor, who became a gay rights icon when she sued the federal government to recognize her same-sex marriage, has died on Tuesday at the age of 88.

Her death was confirmed to the New York Times by her wife Judith Kasen-Windsor, but she didn't specify a cause. The pair got married in 2016.

The late LGBT rights activist was the lead plaintiff in the 2013 US supreme court case that struck down the Defense of Marriage Act of 1996, giving gay and lesbian couples access to federal benefits and laying the foundation for the landmark decision to legalize same-sex marriage across the country in 2015. The case made history for the United States’ LGBT rights movement.

The LGBT family all over the world are paying tributes to the icon on social media.

In a statement from Windsor's attorney, Roberta Kaplan, he said representing Windsor "was and will always be the greatest honor of my life."

"She will go down in the history books as a true American hero. With Edie's passing, I lost not only a treasured client, but a member of my family. I know that Edie's memory will always be a blessing to Rachel, myself, and Jacob. I also know that her memory will be a blessing not only to every LGBT person on this planet, but to all who believe in the concept of b'tzelem elohim, or equal dignity for all," she said.

8 people were shot dead on Sunday night when a gunman with multiple weapons barged into his ex-wife’s home and went on a shooting spree.

A Texas football watch party had been underway at the single-family home off Spring Creek Parkway in Plano, less than 20 minutes from Dallas, around 8 p.m. when the shooter opened fire inside the party. Two people were wounded, and 7 were killed before authorities arrived and shot the gunman dead.

Authorities responded to the home in the 1700 block of West Spring Creek Parkway, near Custer Road, at 8:04 p.m. after multiple gunshots was reported. An officer heard shots upon arrival. He entered the home and confronted the gunman before fatally shooting him.

The two wounded victims were transported to the hospital where one of them later died. Of the nine shooting victims, only one survived. According to witnesses, a man arrived at the house where a group was watching the Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants game. He had an argument with a woman outside before drawing an automatic weapon and opening fire.

“I seen a man argue with a woman. They were standing outside arguing. The woman was trying to go back in and as she was going back in the house you seen the man pull out his gun and starting just releasing. He just started letting them go. It was an automatic. You could hear it go off multiple times, you could hear it just ring off,” a witness told a Fox News reporter.

“It sounded like an argument between a woman and a man and it got really loud…next thing you know all you heard was multiple rounds just going off,” Crystal Sugg, who works nearby, told Fox 4.

Police said at a news conference on Monday they have not identified all of the victims, but said they were all adult men and women. Debbie Lane, the mother of the woman who lived in the home, said the gunman was her former son-in-law who killed her daughter, Meredith Lane. The mother said the couple recently got divorced after six years of marriage and the man used to own the home where the shooting happened.

“She was a cook, and a quite fine one, and she loved hosting friends and families,” Lane told WFAA. “This was her first opportunity to do it after the divorce and he didn’t take it well.”

Lane continued: “I really wish we knew who the other victims were. They were all close dear friends. We don’t know”.
