Barely 24 hours after saying it will not interfere in the rape scandal involving COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo and wife of singer Timi Dakolo, Busola, the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has said it will be investigating the matter.

Speaking on the rape scandal, President of the christian association, Reverend Samson Ayokunle, condemned rape, adding that the allegation will be investigated.

He said the Pentecoastal Fellowship of Nigeria which is the block under CAN which Fatoyinbo belongs to, has been informed about the allegation and investigation has commenced.

A lot of people have applauded the courage of actress and scriptwriter, Elvina Ibru, who revealed that she had once been raped by an armed robber in her home.

Lending some words of advice to rape victims, Ibru said, “You mustn’t be scared of what people are going to say because it is not your fault. I got a lot of snide remarks when I revealed my experience; some people said I was looking for attention. Meanwhile, it is because of talks like that, that many victims don’t report rape incidents. I wish everybody has a strong family like mine because I had people I could lean on. Unfortunately, not everybody has that kind of support system. Nevertheless, they need to find strength within themselves; otherwise, rapists would keep getting away with the dastardly act without any repercussion.”

Speaking on what gave her the confidence to speak up when she did, she said, “I just wanted to help people who had similar experiences. After I shared my experience, many women wrote to me that I had given them the courage to speak out about similar things they had gone through. We, women, have to stick together. But a lot of the time, it is women that even blame the victims. In my case, when I went to the hospital, it was a female doctor that asked me what I was wearing when the rape took place. That was preposterous because it didn’t matter what I wore because I was in my house. So far, a woman doesn’t give her consent for sex, that is rape.”

On what she would do if she came face-to-face with her rapist, Ibru said, “I have actually dreamt about him a lot. Even if he stands among 100 people, I can pick him out. I believe in God and I am sure that He loves me. I don’t think there is anything that happens to me that is not for a good reason. You may call it a psychological way of dealing with the incident but the way I look at it is that the rapist needed to be saved and I was the sacrifice that God used to save him.

I am sure that before that time, he had never touched someone like me before. He was a street boy and was mostly used to a rough life. I believe that maybe the day he touched me, he went home and thought about his life, and felt that if he continued living that type of life, he might never be able to touch a woman like me again. I imagine that he might have become a pastor now and is no longer a menace to society. Perhaps, if he sees me, he would say that he had been looking for me to beg for forgiveness. And I would tell him that I had forgiven him. I want to believe that God used me to change his life because that incident couldn’t have happened to me for no reason. If that incident did not happen, he may have been killed by the police or his fellow armed robbers.”

I woke up to several missed calls, and text messages. My friends know my relationship with @cozaglobal.
Let me say this. COZA is my church. I love my pastor... But rape, is a serious issue. My stomach churns as I write this. I spoke with @timidakolo a week ago and tried to understand why he had taken a stance against my pastor. I had just come back from honeymoon when all my friends sent me his attacks to my pastor a few weeks ago.
I sought to understand, not to attack. I was under so much turmoil too because this is my church, my pastor, and I cannot go around like nothing is happening and the church isn't addressing anything or re-assuring the members.

We must not see evil and cover it. We must not see evil and turn the other way. You all know me. I attack and speak out against corrupt political leaders everytime. Well, this has hit home. Our leaders and our fathers must be held accountable. And they must deem us worthy to be answerable to. If we cannot clean in the church, forget it. We cannot clean the country. I am tired of hearing so much, so much rubbish about my church and leadership over the years especially cos of the industry I belong to, nothing passes our ears behind the scene.

My pastor @biodunfatoyinbo has to say something this time. If the rest of the church does not need it, I need it. For my sake, sir... Speak on this.
I stand with @busoladakolo as she has spoken her truth. I stand with the body of christ also. I ask that my pastor come out and speak his own truth.

I am praying for the church. Please let us pray for both the Dakolo and the Fatoyinbo families. (wife and kids). In the end, if we need to, let us scatter the place... Then the truth will stand up.

I just watched @busoladakolo video I know the world gets emotional the moment a woman mentions that she was raped but if you will take a minute to think objectively; the oldest way a woman can try to destroy a man is to accuse him of rape. Any man is guilty of this offence in the eyes of the public until otherwise and if she has a little social status like the wife of a struggling musician like @timidakolo it makes it look credible.
Why is she doing this? Timi and wife are a pawn in a conspiracy and also because it will help him sell some records which he desperately needs to sell, they will also trend for a while, she has already opened unbroken.ng an online platform to cash in on the drama just like @esewalter and then its over!
I am a proud COZA member and @biodunfatoyinbo is my father and he has been a blessing to millions of people all over the world. This time there will be no silence and since you want war, you will have it. If @biodunfatoyinbo has been a blessing to you, its time to speak up, don't keep quiet!

@timidakolo and @busoladakolo are not saints, she was a choir member and Timi was a choir leader in church when she got pregnant with her first baby, Timi denied that they weren't having an affair and then she got pregnant the second time and that was when the church forced them to get married. This chorister was sleeping with her choir master and was a baby mama with two kids before they got married. These are morally bankrupt people and all that talk in the video will not hold water under cross examination.
Another thing that bothers me is why all the people troubling the body of christ @daddyfreeze @timidakolo @busoladakolo @chudeity all attend a particular church

Timi and Busola have a LOT of skeletons and they both live in glass houses and they are busy throwing stones. Its time to shatter this house of cards these people have built, its time to deal with cyber bullying and vague social media allegations and this couple will be the scape goats.

The police on Wednesday arraigned a 22-year-old man, Eniola Kareem, at an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a Bible and phone worth N2,500 from Word Life Bible Church, Ayobo, Lagos.

Kareem, who resides at No. 22, Ijesha St., Ayobo in Lagos, is charged with theft.

The Prosecution Counsel, Sgt. Samuel Mishozumu, told the court that Kareem committed the offence on May 19.

Mishozumu said the defendant unlawfully entered the church at Amule Ayobo in Lagos and stole a Bible and a Nokia phone valued at N2,500, property of one Ms Fatima Adeyibo.

He told the court that Kareem was caught by members of the church who handed him over to the police.

Mishozumu said the offence contravened provisions of Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that kareem is liable to three years in prison if convicted.

After the charge was read to him , he pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate O.D. Njoku, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N20,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Njoku adjourned the case until July 16, for further hearing.
