It was Joffrey that sent the assassin actually. But i get your point.
Why would jeoffrey send an assassin to kill bran? :s

It's not happening. - R. Bolton.

But if it were to happen (just hypothetically)... I wonder what will become of Sansa Bolton, the wife of Ramsay Bolton. Her husband will never bend the knee to Stannis but would she. It seems she would do anything to stay alive, Sansa would.
Sansa would. House stark and house Baratheon are allies. Also, Ramsey would rather die than bend the knee.

This season finale will be bloody that's for sure. I admire your confidence in Stannis. But it is sorely misplaced. I will be here to laugh in your face in less than 24hrs from now.
Stannis the puppet? He should have burned Melisandre at the stake immediately she suggested that he burn his daughter. If it was Ramsay, the flaying of Melisandre would have been automatic.... as in the next scene would be her lifeless flayed corpse nailed to a plank.
To hell with Stannis, he's about to get served. Ramsay served him the first time and he failed to learn.
Haha. House Bolton is about to go up in flames BY the hands of KING STANNIS. We shall see by 8 o'clock tomorrow morning.

HOUSE BARATHEON vs HOUSE BOLTON

Swear allegiance to Stannis now. From what I have seen in the episode preview, victory is ours!!

Read an article on Forbes that said Jon Snow is a Targ and I believe it. All this talk of "you know nothing" also points towards that. There is also no way that Dany can control 3 fully grown dragons by herself.

I don't know why people have problems with Melisandre's magic when there's plenty other magic in the kingdoms - wargs/skinchangers, many-faced god, the others, dragons etc. And so far, she is the only one outside the wall who recognizes the threat of the others and dragged Stannis from Kings Landing to prevent the wall falling to wildlings. I think her aim is to get Stannis to rule so that she'll have support against the others. My 2cents.
"You know nothing" doesn't prove anything.

People are just biased because they feel anybody that does magic is evil. And Stannis wasn't at kings landing. He was at dragon stone.

But by GOT standards, we can call Jamie one of the good guys. I think his life changed after losing his arm.
Yeah. He is a changed man now and just wants cersei to love him again. he is a neutral as far as GOT events are concerned.

This shove was the only action that made him look bad and he HAD to do it for the good of the realm...name any other scene where he did bad...he saved Brienne from being raaped by Bolton's men and came back for her when she was passed to a Bear for Lunch.
He attempted to kill a child for the good of the realm? He failed and also attempted assassination and even trying to frame tyrion. How about killing his cousin? Was that for the good of the realm too? How about blowing your own sister and having 3 children with her, for the realm I guess.

I don't know if I am alone in this, but seriously what Stannis did to Shireen didn't make me hate him the way I do to Ramsay.Mehn Stannis is still a better king than both Robert,Jeffrey and Tormund and I still favour him over Renly.....Meanwhile in another story, that in episode 10 we are going to witness something worse than the Red Wedding...Oboiiii.....All I have to say about this is GRRM,Kill Jon Snow and We Riot...PERIOD!!!
It's not just you. After the episode, I hated him. But later, I realised that Stannis is still a better man than the others. 1 bad act doesn't automatically make him the evil overlord.

I want think brienne will die, roose and Ramsey. I want think stannis will take back Winterfell and if the wildlings join the battle, the giant and Tormund will die.

Also, I hope the hound is not dead. I liked him and Arya did too.
TV/MoviesRe: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by gj22(m): 8:29am On Jun 12, 2015
You guys should stop watching the show with the eyes of the world today. Watch it with the eyes of the world the characters are in.

Melisandre is not evil, she worships a God who demands a high price for the task they are trying to accomplish. How is it different from the many-faced god or the seven or whatever?

One bad act from a good man doesn't automatically make him good just as one good act from a bad man doesn't automatically make them good.

Oh dnt gimme dat crap, dany has defeated atleast 3 kingdoms, the lanisters are ruling, stannis is in d fvcking walls, he cannot even get a bastard to go wit him to fight, he doesn't have soldiers, he's short of men, they are chasin him away cos of food rations which means he has no money, he's just goin abt shoutin "I'm the one true king" as if dats wat makes u win, d woman isn't even a good sorceress, she can't even get a bastard to fvck her. isn't dat failure? Upon all dis he can't get anoda woman and have sex wit her so as to get a heir for his stvpid imaginary throne... Failure! failure! failure!
Dany has defeated 3 cities not kingdoms.

Stannis is after the biger price.

You just dont like Stannis. simple.

The lannisters are rulin a kingdom are they not?
true

Dany is ruling a kingdom is she not?
Dany is ruling a city

What is stannis ruling? A depressed and dumb wife?
Stannis wants to rule the iron throne

I'm sayin d sorceress can't even fvck a bastard, she can't achieve dat wit all her stvpid power... Isn't dat embarassin, a powerful woman can't even seduce an ordinary bastard to follow a stvpid plan
This comment is soo sexist it isnt even funny.

... Stannis has no real plan, he's jus roamin abt, lookin for who's goin to fight for his stvpid cause, who has time? If he wants soldiers he shud do wat dany is doin! Think! Plan! Dnt jus follow a b!tch abt sayin ure "the one true king" someone needs to shut him up
you know nothing

To be fair, the same can be said of the Lannisters , they are short of men, and their power is illegitimate. When was sorcery about fucking bastards. He cant get another woman to get an heir, while his wife still lives. There are certain cultures like the Iron Born, Valyrians, or Dothraki that practice polygamy, but the rest of Westeros doesnt.
I just taya for the guy. What has sorcery got to do with that.

undecided i dnt knw wat show u av been watchin either... Wen I look at stannis, I see a childish man dts followin a devilish woman because of some tricks she's pullin, I dnt see a king at all... His right hand man even has more sense and dignity dan him
She isnt devilish. and what she does are far from tricks. Her magic actually works. she helped him defeat renly, she helped him kill Jeoffrey (arguable). She has gotten him this far so far.

Also, He is fighting a war and sorcery is his weapon. How does that make him a child?

Dany has dragons (magical creatures), the lanisters have powerful friends and an army, Stannis has a sorceress (magic). Now tell me what makes him a child?

Someone who indulges in chaos can decide what's best for the realm ? Varys wants whats best for the realm under Targ rule. But overall i think he's misunderstood.

1st of all, wat success are u talkin abt?is stannis d king yet? I'm in episode 4 of season 5 I'm nt up to date but I'm sure he's nt a king yet.he hasn't won any war also so I'm confused as to d success ure talkin abt

2nd, Stannis is as irrelevant as d whor she's carryin around. He's a stvpid pawn, he jus happens to have a royal blood, personally I dnt see any position he wil b able to occupy, I dnt think he wil ever b any king at all
You might hate Melisandre but dont you dare talk about your king like that.

On a more serious note, if after 5 seasons you still think that about stannis that way, then i dont know what show you have been watching.

Varys was also responsible for feeding into Aerys' paranoia. He was also responsible for foiling Rhaegar's plan in Harrenhal, when Rhaegar invited all the lords of the seven kingdoms, there was another reason why he did that, it wasnt just because of a tourney, but im not spoiling, and Varys knew, and told Aerys, that's why Aerys was present, that's why the plan could not go on. There are lots of things Varys is responsible for, and you go on here saying he serves the realm. Pttf..
He does serve the realm but he is going about it the wrong way. Dude. To him, the ends justifies the means. That is the definition of an anti-hero
TV/MoviesRe: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by gj22(m): 6:17pm On Jun 11, 2015
LeviStark:
We're going to have to agree to diasgree. He didn't help Sansa escape. Varys was aginst any form of anti-Targ rule. Why didnt he help Ned escape, Jaime was the one who threatened him to save Tyrion. Varys and Illyrio wanted a war in the seven kingdoms, so that when Dany(Aegon in the books) comes, everybody will be depleted, and the conquest will be much easier. He's that kind of ends justify the means guy. That don't mean he's right. When he says he's for the realm, he means for the realm under Targ rule. He knew about Jon Arryn conspiracy, he knew LF planted Ned's death in Joffreys ears, he knew they were planning on killing Robert, why did he kill Kevan, who would have been a good hand. Didnt you watch that scene where Arya was chasing a cat ? No matter how Varys believes he's serving the realm, he's not.
That's the thing. What you know doesn't matter because the character doesn't know what you know. He only knows what he knows.

And to him, chaos is the only way the realm can be good. This is what makes him an anti-hero, he is doing a bad thing for a good reason. He wants what's best for the realm.

To each his own, true. More are preoccupied with the hotness or otherwise of the scantily clad heroines, but I can't begrudge them their eye candy grin

As to understanding the characters, I feel we never got to see inside their heads. We just see things happening to them, but we aren't allowed to truly experience it through their thoughts and words. Tyrion gets abducted and comes before Dany. They form a kind of connection but it's based on a very scanty convo with the lamest dialogue I've seen Tyrion have with another character in the series.

Sansa is practically defiled on her wedding night but apart from her looking like she'd swallowed nails, I don't really feel her pain. Basically, I'm indifferent.

The only real emotion I felt was when Shireen was burned.

The series was all about action, and not just the battle scenes at Hardhome etc, but the fights: Dorne with the Sand sisters, and Jorah's fights at the arena etc. That part about Game of Thrones I liked, such as the 'intrigue' and back-stabbing was absent this season. Sometimes I like the melodrama that comes with betrayal, jealousy etc. Though we had a taste of it when Cersei threw her son's wife into prison lol.

Just saying, the storytelling is wearing thin as the seasons go by. I feel like I've just been through 5 episodes, not 9 or 10. But then again it might be just me.
Honestly, I think it's you, not the show. No offence.

All season long, I have been able to empathise with characters and see through their eyes. That why they show what is happening to them and the decisions they make.

Take stannis for example. As disgusting as his actions were, I understand why he did it because I can connect with him. This connection only came that episode that Jon left for hardhome and was not there previously because of lack of proper screen time.

Even Jaime that was the bad guy previously is now a not-soo-bad bad guy.

This season is more of stories than action honestly. No huge character has even died. Episode 8 was the only action episode we got so far this season
