Good morning,

Anyone here unable to upload their personal statement on the University of Hull application portal?

The upload button isn't clickable my end, don't know if this is a general glitch or not.

as promised I sent them a Mail and this is the response
Okay, we'll know for sure if you see the application through. Please keep us updated, thanks.

Folabifreeman:
I said £4500 deposit. Nothing about whole payment
I asked how much will be paid to receive CAS, you said 11,450 which is the full amount less the 1k scholarship.

You are undergoing the process so maybe you know better.

I'll attach a screenshot of the response I from the International Admissions team.

Best of luck in your applications.

Where did you get the information about having to pay the whole fees upfront?
I inquired from the school and that was their response. Someone else confirmed it here, @folabifreeman I believe.

Folabifreeman:
12450-1000= 11,450 will be paid

just got my eligibility to study in UK form. More like pre-CAS questionnaire
Thank you. Cheaper tuition but the downside is having to pay upfront. What course did you apply for and how long before you were given admission?

Thank you. Have you paid the deposit? Will keep a tab on your posts for any update on the school if you decide to go there.

Folabifreeman:
£4500 is the deposit or full tuition fee if the course fee is less than 4500
Please clarify the bolded. Tuition fee is 12,450 with a 1,000 scholarship. How much will be paid to receive CAS? When is the balance due? Installment plans for balance? Is POF a requirement for CAS?

Just trying to get the correct info to make a decision on applying or not.

Thanks.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by Glauben: 5:34pm On Oct 17, 2021
Folabifreeman:
£4,500
Would you be kind to point me to a link where you got this from?

I emailed the International Admissions team and the reply I got was that the full tuition (12,450) minus the 1,000 scholarship is required for CAS to be issued.

Desired course is MSc Data Analytics and Technologies: Extended.

I'd appreciate first hand info from anyone on payment/installment plans for University of Bolton, please.

Thanks.

TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by Glauben: 4:44pm On Oct 25, 2019
Hi guys, just a quick update as regards my initial rejection and subsequent appeal.

A quick recap: Interview 22nd of August, rejection a week later. Appeal with supporting docs including SL sent on the 10th of September, receipt acknowledeged via email on the the 12th of September.

Enrollment deadline is 31st of this month, sent a couple of emails to the Embassy asking about status but no reply.

Embassy finally got around to sending an email today asking for a self addressed pre paid envelope via Courier, looks like another rejection is enroute.

I want to say a big thank you to everyone that helped me during the appeal process, I really appreciate it. The dream is still very much alive, delay they say is not denial. Winter is almost out of the question, Summer it is then. We fire again!

A big shout out to everyone contributing postively to this thread, may our dreams come true. It's been a tiring and exhausting journey I must say.

Have a great weekend, Gentlemen $ Ladies.

Unlike court certifications and notary public, embassy certifications are accepted universally.

For specific schools dat desire only embassy crested applications however, some unfortunate ppl may end up sending unverified documents or documents certified by notary public's to the same school out of stupendous drivel or perhaps to test the school authorities patience out of desperation to get AL.

That's why I say it gives the applicant an advantage or edge in the admissions office of a school desiring such for AL
Your first paragraph is probably true. As for the part in bold, I really don't expect any serious prospective student to do that when the requirements have been made clear by the school.

The real bone of contention is your submission in the third paragraph. Let me cite an example. A course makes it clear that Court certification and Embassy certification are allowed for it's programme.

Two candidates A & B with similar profiles apply for admission to the programme. Candidate A certifies with the Court while Candidate B opts for Embassy certification. Does Candidate B have a better chance than Candidate A because he used Embassy certification?

The answer is No!

Just wanted to make this very clear especially for newbies on here. Have a great day.
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by Glauben: 3:57pm On Oct 22, 2019
Thegamingorca:
No it increases your Chances of gettin AL.
May I ask how you came about this conclusion?

Each course states its preferred mode of certification- court, notary public, German Consulate, etc. Unless certification from the German Consulate is explicitly required for the programme, it gives no advantage in the application process.

The only factor I can think of is cost. The Embassy does not charge fees for certification of documents (maximum of 5 sets if I'm not mistaken).

Prospective applicants should simply peruse their course websites, the accepted type(s) of certification should be stated clearly in most cases.

Thanks all for the piece of advice. Special thanks to @sanny21 for uploading her AM for pubic consumption. I hope you know that if the embassy asks for any document, you'll print the mail and d security ppl will check d requested docs so its no mistake and there is a way you construct your email that forces response.
Hello bro, I'm interested in the part in bold. Do you mind sharing?

Sent my appeal on the 10th of September and it was acknowleged on the 12th. Enrollment deadline is the 31st of this month... They didn't reply my email regarding the status of my application.

Please guys, who got SL from Bremen

How long does it take to issue SL in Bremen after submitting all data and payslip? Please guys, I need a response. Thank you
Ideally, it should be issued immediately after confrmation that he/she qualifies. However the problem is getting an appointment at the alien office over there, it really needs a lot of commitment and sacrifice. I know someone who was on it for weeks because they only work on certain days- I think Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday at specific times. The day he finally got it, he had to go there as early as 5am in the morning and he still met a lot of people there already! Good luck.

Exactly the course I'm applying for. Bros, u are my senior colleague and I wil need directive. I didn't add my EPL wen a applied because I used the documents already with uni assist and my friend studying environmental in d sch said he didn't use any Eng test. After evaluation they requested for lang test and I wanted to be sure if am good to send the EPL to avoid waste of money.
If you have your EPL, I'd advise you send it to Uni-assist. Proof of english language equivalent to B2 or certificate that previous education was carried out in English is clearly a language requirement. Whether the same applies for the coming Summer application is what I can't vouch for.

So send the EPL and still try to verify if it is accepted from the programme Co-ordinator.

4realisreal:
Thank u very much. I think they no longer accept EPL unlike before. I think they won't mind whether ielts general or academic
This is probably course-dependent, only the course Co-ordinator can give you the correct answer. Try to comb the application page(s) of your intended course, you might just find the answer.

As for me, EPL was accepted and I was admitted to the Mathematical Modeling of Complex Systems MSc this winter. Don't know if same still applies for the same course for Summer application.

Best of luck.

The first step to sloving any problem is the identification of the problem. If you ask me, I can say there were really some issues during your interview....please check the bolded from your interview transcript

1. You said it was quite uneventful
2 While the interview was on, she excused herself twice while asing basic ques. There may be things she was asking about your document or.....
3. She didnt even signify when the interview started. She may have spotted somethings that she feels may/would disqualify you, but just need to conclude or carry on
4. She didnt even ask you half of the questions you were expecting!! What question did she really ask or stressed on?
5. I'm not sure i even said thanks!! This shows there were issues with the whole process
6. Another odd thing was, she didn't verbally ask me about funding or advise me to fund immediately like I have read about for some VOs on here.....This can tell you funding isn't the real issue
Brother like I said earlier check your documents very well, I mean every of your documents.
What was it that made her excuse you twice. that could be the main issue??
After all the checks and corrections, you can then appeal with your SL and we join our faith with yours that things will turn around for your good
Best wishes
Thanks for your contribution. Yes, she excused herself twice but i'm pretty sure it wasn't to ask any question related to me. The first time, a young lady (don't know if she's a VO too) came to gist with her, she said something about $2,000 if i remember correctly. So she excused herself & went in to talk with her & some other people. I could hear their voices talking, she did same the second time.

To be honest, I really didn't like her attitude during the interview. I expected her to be more professional with the whole thing. There was no phone, and she practically expected me to shout; I really didn't like that at all. And she kept asking is that all? when I answered her questions. I don't know what she saw, she probably made up her mind about me even before the interview was over.

The questions she asked me were:

Why Germany?
Why this course?
Why not English speaking Countries?
Do I speak German?
Do I know anyone in Germany?
What do you know about Germany?
My BSc thesis
The Course i studied
My CGPA
My plans after study

As for my docs, they are pretty straightforward & I can't think of anything that may be wrong with them.

Thanks once again.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'll try to connect with dolpaz & boss733, sent them pms already.

Looks like a case of poor performance, thought I did well but the VO obviously thought otherwise.

The admission process was actually in two stages; first, I had to send my transcript for it to be evaluated that I qualify from the Scientific point of view, it was after I was given the go ahead that I applied via uni-assist officially. And no, it wasn't a conditional admission.

Still counting on you guys to pull this off.

Sorry about this development.
You need to state some facts:
1- Did you submit blocked account?
2- When is your enrollment deadline?
3- Which school and city?
4- What course is it and does it relate to your bsc course?

All other details are necessary.

Cheers!
1. I opened a Fintiba account & went with the make the transfer doc. I haven't funded as I intend to use SL. My sponsor just got the SL yesterday & informed me, I got a call from the courier service about 10 mins after I got the news that the SL was ready. The VO didn't ask me any question about funding, though she gave me 2 forms to sign to that effect.

2. Enrollment deadline is October 31st.

3. Begische Universität Wuppertal

4. MSc Computer Simulation in Science, specialization is Imaging in Medicine. Yes it relates, my UG degree was Physics. Had a 2:2, 3.42 Cgpa, graduated 09.

I thought I did well in the interview, maybe the VO wasn't just impressed enough.

Hello guys, I need help.

Had my interview last week Thursday, I got a rejection together with my docs yesterday. The reason for the refusal is:

"There are doubts concerning the indicated purpose of your trip as well as the ability to study."

I intend to appeal but I need help especially from people who have experienced this & successfully appealed afterwards.

Contributions are highly welcome.
TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by Glauben: 3:55pm On Aug 23, 2019
Hello guys, I had my interview at the German embassy yesterday & it was largely uneventful. Got to the embassy just after 6, was told to come back around 6:30 since my appointment was for 7am. I went to the park, some of those guys tried to smooth talk me but I just smiled & told them I had everything I needed. Killed some time at the park & went back to the embassy around 6:35 or thereabout.

I wasn't surprised to meet a couple of people on the queue already, and Paulinus started callling docs for 3 or so student visa applicants. There was this fair lady that incurred the 'wrath' of Paulinus, though she really didn't have a problem as I made her understand later on. Paulinus asked for Confirmation of Blocked account opening whether you have funded or not. This lady told him she had funded but had the confirmation in her email! Na there gbege start so. She was sent to the back & wanted to go look for somewhere to print the confirmation.

Na long story sha, but I noticed she had the Make the transfer doc, and told her that was enough to get her in even though she had funded already. She really didn't have to tell Paulinus she doesn't have the confirmation in her email. I told her I had the same doc & haven't funded, & i was pretty sure it won't be a problem. All she had to do was tell the VO she'd be sending the blocking confirmation after the interview.

When it got to my time, I arranged the docs with one other guy. Pretty straightforward if you ask me as long as you follow this thread & know what to expect.

Got inside, waited maybe 10 mins & was asked to enter cubicle 2. The VO was a young, dark lady with long braids. She was kinda casual with her approach & actually excused herself to go gist twice while she was asking basic questions & typing away on her pc. I was like, really? I sighted the the woman with the coloured dreadlocks inside too.

She didn't even signify when the interview proper started, the questions were the usual questions here, & she didn't even ask me half of the questions I was expecting. However she kept asking is that all? when I answered the few questions she asked me.

Now, the part that I really did not like was that there was no phone (or i didn't see one) from my own end of the partition. She practically expected me to shout, which I didn't like at all. I mean I can almost reach out & touch her if not for the glass partition & you expect me to shout like we are 10 meters apart? I didn't think that was good enough.

The last question she asked me was my plans after study, I answered her & she told me the interview was over. I'm not sure I even said thanks, just gently packed my stuff & left. Another odd thing was, she didn't verbally ask me about funding or advise me to fund immediately like I have read about for some VOs on here. Although, she gave me two other forms to fill which covers the issue of funding & the email it should be sent to.

That's pretty much about it. Good luck with everyone.

Wuppertal as a city is a very nice city, but very cold during winter season, lots of hills and mountains, and it has a beautiful scheweband, thats the name of the train that moves passengers over head, from one location to the other, I think with you semester ticket you can move with it, also there are lots of cafes, shops like Obi, Lidi, Audi discount Mart etc,

As for finding a part-time job, it's possible when you have at least A1 German knowledge, or you want to work in the factories.

Once again congratulations on your admissions.
Thanks for the insight, I appreciate.
