And the insanity of shutting down the small business man’s operations especially never made any sense to me, yet was not much of a surprise, either. After all, even though everyone pays lip service to him, the world at large hates the business man. The business man is vilified. Lied about. Envied. And, worst of all, attacked for no reason whatsoever.
Attacked by who, you ask?
Your politicians.
Your attorney generals.
Your favorite big box business store or big tech company who sees the small business man as a threat.
Your lawyers.
Your judges.
Your gazillion paper-pushing bureaucrats.
And, even your own friends and family who continue to vote against the small business man's best interests. i.e., voting for higher taxes, strangling regulations, more stoopid forms to fill out, impossible-to-follow rules set up to crush the small business man like GDPR, and other time & money wasting nonsense. Yes, even though without the small business man they'd have no tax money to fund their silly little utopian dreams.
Not to mention looters destroying the small business man’s livelihood.
The point?
Everyone's hand is against the small business man.
Yet the small business man is who provides their jobs.
The small business man is who pays the bulk of the taxes.
And, the small business man is the one making things go forward economically in spite of the government always trying to tear him down, place obstacles in his path, and tax him into oblivion.
Reminds me of Dan Kennedy's "No BS Business" book.
There was a small business man overrun by taxes and mind-numbing forms.
Every day was another tax bill to be paid.
Another regulation to be followed.
Another idiotic "rule" to be obeyed.
Another loser wanting to sue him for any reason or no reason at all.
Until one day...
They find his corpse at the foot of his mailbox dead of a heart attack — tax forms clutched in hand!
The point of all this?
I am not sure there is one.
It’s something I was reminded of recently when, after some small businesses got looted, set on fire, and destroyed, never to be re-opened, the response from the peanut gallery was:
“Who cares? They are insured!”

My “Email Players” newsletter probably won’t do much to lower the knife always against the small business man’s throat, but it can help the cash flow part. There are few tools out there that can bring in cash flow as quickly & efficiently as well-crafted emails sent to qualified lists.
Liftkid: There is a big difference BTW a domain with high traffics and one with high click rate.
A domain may have high traffics but the click rate maybe so low or none at all.
For instance, The last one I bought, has many traffics but it has gotten only 1 click. The CtR is not encouraging at all.
So how do you know one that would bring greater click rate ? How do you find them?

Now, we get into the meat and potatoes of this thread.
Don’t forget, the sole aim of this thread is to show you how to hone your email copywriting skill so you can start writing emails for clients and filling your bank account with moolah in the process.
Now, email copywriting is a smaller branch of the big bad guy COPYWRITING.
It’s like saying Benin City is a city under Edo State…

Before we swing fully into the email copywriting side of things, let’s run the rule over Copywriting in general.
This is especially important for you if you are new to all of this.
So… What really is copywriting?
Described as Gary Halbert, legendary copywriter, as the most lucrative skill in the world…
There are a thousand and one definitions out there on the internet about this topic.
But here is one that succinctly describes it best:
Copywriting is salesmanship in print.
And I’ll flesh that out with examples in a bit.
But before I do that, I’d also like to throw in my simple, dumbed-down definition:
“Copywriting is the kind of writing that is done to PROVOKE readers into taking an action.”
The action could be for them to click a link on an AD…
It could be to get them to subscribe to an EMAIL LIST…
It could also be to get them to click a link inside an email…
It could equally be to get them to buy whatever it is you are selling…
This kind of writing is different from writing to entertain people.
Okay, let’s go back to the first definition… that is the “salesmanship in print” definition.
Before the internet became a popular medium, one of the most popular ways of selling was via door-to-door campaigns.
The people who engaged in this practice were called salesmen.
And more often than not, they had a script they were trying to convince prospects from.
With the advent of the internet, this kind of selling was relegated to the background.
And now, with WORDS written on a page on the internet, anyone could reach a larger audience and make hundreds of thousands of dollars from selling their stuff.
Every online business needs copywriting.
And so people (copywriters) who can write words that CONVINCE people to whip out their wallets and buy whatever you are selling became hot properties.
There is something called direct response copywriting (that’s your assignment for today: Google this yourself and see what it means).
One of the highest direct response copywriters in the world, passed away just last month. His name was Clayton Makepeace. He used to make serious MILLIONS every year as a direct response copywriter!
Now, I have to let you know that a lot of the money Mr. Makepeace earned came from something called ROYALTIES.
That is, businesses pay him a pre-agreed amount for every sale the copy he wrote for them brought in.
That is discounting the original fee they paid for him to initially write their package (which is usually in the six figure dollars range).
Then there is Dan Kennedy – I think he is currently the #1 copywriter in the world right now that Mr. Makepeace has gone to rest.
Then there is this African-American lady, Carline Anglade-Cole, who makes at least $1M a year writing for clients as a copywriter (here is her website: carlinecole.com).
Then there is another guy called David Garfinkel who charges $25,000 for copywriting mentorship… and he charges businesses up to $100K to write their packages!
Now, why am I giving you all of these examples?
I just want to show you that putting in the work to become a great copywriter can be a very, very rewarding experience.
You may be wondering, why will businesses invest all these huge sums into one person to help them just sting common words together?
Well, imagine this…
If I paid you $100 to write one email for me…
And I send that email to my audience to sell them a $97 dollar product…
If that your one email brings in 10 sales, that makes up $970, right?
Now, I only paid you $100 to work your magic on my email.
Have I not now made a profit of $870?
That is how business owners think.
And that is why if you are DARN GOOD at what you do, they are ready to ‘chuck’ thick wads into your hands so you can write words that help them make money.
Now there are VARIOUS forms of copywriting out there:
AD copywriting – where you write ads for business owners. Ads like FB ads, instagram ads, Google ads, banner ads etc.
Email Copywriting – where you will help businesses write emails to sell their products to their EMAIL LIST.
Sales Letter Copywriting – Where you will write relatively long (7 pages and above) copies that are meant to sell a product on a WEB PAGE.
VSL Copywriting – VSL means Video Sales Letter. You will write video scripts for a video sales letter.
And so much more.
Now, you could decide to learn all these arms of copywriting in one fell swoop.
But the truth is, it’s going to take time, effort, and money to fully cut your teeth as a do-it-all copywriter.
So my simple advice to anyone trying to profit as a copywriter is to learn email writing first.
For me, it’s like the low-hanging fruit of copywriting.
Once you have a grasp of what ticks people… what emotions drive response… what people want to hear…
It becomes easier for you when you start moving up the ladder into mainstream copywriting.
I hope you understand this.
The whole essence of this particular lesson was to give you a sweeping view of copywriting and get you into the mind of a copywriter.
I don’t know if I have done a good job of it.
If I have not, I hope as we continue to progress you start to gain clarity.
But like I will always say, you can learn from various sources. So put your research skill into effect and start to gain clarity on what it means to become a copywriter.

Always use one network, glo or mtn or airtel to open your PayPal account. And maintain one Sim card. Always use one browser (chrome preferably) to open your account. Maintain one device for your PayPal login. If you're using phone, stick to it alone. If your using PC stick to it alone. Always log in with /ls since it's Lesotho. Good luck.
Make sure you don't receive funds from unverified sources because Paypal will see the action as money laundering and limit your account.
Note, I have been rocking my Paypal account for a long time now with no issues.

Looking back now, I feel like beating myself. She had everything I wanted in a woman physically. And had the right goals and penchant for success like I now do! I have seen a lot of ladies and can now appreciate what a gift, a lady with visions, plans and the right frame of mind, is for young man hustling to reach his dreams. Which girl will start discussing your visions and plans for a better life on your first date these days?
I missed Cynthia due to inferiority complex and naivity! I was young and stupid! I was 25 and just got a job in the school after finishing NYSC, when i met her. I pray I find a goal oriented Lady like Cynthia again! Because, they're very hard to come by these days!
