Short story about the Hire//VAs sale
I picked the domain name from ED few months ago. I submitted it to SquadHelp but it was rejected. I now listed it on Dan for 900 bucks. Just recently, I decided to even check the related business that might be interested in taking the domain name. So I got few companies and I did the outreach. The first reply was negative and the second company asked for the price. Before I could reply the second company, a lot of thoughts were already on my mind. One mind was telling me to give him blank check, one was telling me to tell him 10k, another was telling me 5k and the last thought 1k, I know that was from the poverty mentality. So I summoned courage and told him 5k and he bought it that same day.

After that sale, I discovered that some companies are using Virtual Employees so I registered Hire//VEs and I did the outbound but nobody replied. I later pitched it to the previous man and he lectured me that VEs is not a powerful keyword unlike VAs, but he said he would take it for 100 bucks and he did just that.

Although I'm still a newbie here, but let's try and be giving our domains better prices like our colleagues in tier 1 countries. If it's a very powerful domain, good number of these end users would be happy to buy.

On the sale of DefiHomes, i don't really know why i got the name, probably because of the Defi hype from early last year as I picked name from the drops, listed it on afternic for $1795 initially but changed the prices of a few of my afternic listings few months back to $2488 and name sold. Again I feel the defi hype is a factor to consider on the sale although i have better defi names with zero offer for a year now.

On the sale of Farmluxe at brandpa, probably just have around 10 names listed at brandpa because of their poor results over there, use to have over 70 names listed there but their output and overall marketplace returns have been poor so removed alot of my names there last year and left just 10 names, coming into this year there were no results there still so decided to check on my listing a month ago to see how it's going and noticed on the offers dashboard that the name generated some interest and offer many months back which was turned down by brandpa and I was not even notified, Furious on finding this out I contacted support immediately and they explained that they received interest on the name but buyer did not meet my minimum offer on name which was above $1000 (I didn't even know I set that sef), I told them to recontact buyer with follow up and accept offer, which they did and i changed Bin to meet with buyers offering price. But afterwards nothing happened I kept on messaging them to get update but they said nothing yet from buyer. Weeks passed and surprisingly woke up one day to meet a sale on name after many days. Yet to recieve payment from Brandpa because of lack of payment options (no payoneer there at the moment nor transferwise as wise doesn't work well for Nigerians lately) so after back and forth with brandpa support we resolved to using bank wire transfer option but their customer service have been too slow and poor lately. Too much pain from Brandpa nowadays. (moral lesson, from this sale, if I didn't keep up the persistence probably this sale doesn't happen and I held name for 3 years happy it paid off cos I was getting tired of holding it lol.) and if you've not made a sale so far, your time will come.

Of course they are. I have a few I relate with on here.

But at the same time, I cut one off because he became unbearably and subtly arrogant and irritating and he is the only one I have ever physically met when I was in Benin for my cousin's wedding.

Cut him off, blocked him, and also told him NEVER to message me again. I did that because he turned everything into a competition, the same person that was pestering me all over the place and bugging me. WHY? He was making some $$$ and feels he bigger than me lol. I have no problem with anyone making more money than I.

I also learned he displayed that attitude to some else.

A relationship is more important than turning these things into a competition but I am sure he is not mature enough to realize that yet.

I knew him before I met HayKay but I can say I and HayKay have had a run at trying to strike deals outside domaining. The last one we did came through me, it was something that involved a $4M transaction...

But somehow I found that the people we were dealing with were scammers. It was BrandUche(another person I met here) that first alerted me and warned me because he is quite experienced in the field. I found it hard to listen initially until another close relative called my attention to it.

We had to pull out.

I am mentioning this because these names here are domainers that I met on here but we have helped one another outside domaining. Money is good BUT BUILD healthy relationships with the people you meet here. It is richer than wealth! Don't just narrow everything like that mumu to domaining and turn everything to competition.

There is a bigger world out there.

But the recent drop in sales at squadhelp can be attributed to high volume of names listed at the marketplace which I guess should be very close to 100k names if not already. Cool points here bro. We all need to form the habit of registering names we think are gems ourselves seeing that the ROI is very massive and covers expenses for others in the event of selling just one.
We need to start seeing investing in brandables as an investment vehicle and not just a hustle. Though that means you need to get other streams of income to get a cash flow.

I believe there is a thin line between just being a domainer and being a domain investor, though they may mean the same thing. For me, I believe the latter is well informed and is able to seize rare opportunities to to make great profit. That something is free doesn't mean we should throw precious gems away, which is one of the reason the big players we see today in the industry are where they are today. Let's learn to spot high Value premium names. They are even quick to sell.
I just laughed when one of us here called me greedy when I refused to approve a name on SH but rather chose to register myself just cos I realized I was about to make a big mistake.
Kudos to SH for giving domainers such a great platform to own domains without commiting a lot in investment. However, I believe if one is to make a great deal from this industry one should be serious enough to commit a little amount and at least own one or two.
The only name I ever sold (aside wholesale marketplace sale) on SH made me an instant millionaire. Why? I knew which names to register as a creative name.
Unlike Geo names, Brandables don't sell like everyday other day, hence, the little we are able to sell, should be able to bring in something colossal.
Our growth in this industry is dependent on this knowledge.

All I can say is that everyone should keep on submitting saleable names and register some yourself because you will earn more that way if you get a sale.

On the sale of Jobvivo, name was first listed as basic listing on Squadhelp in 2019, cos it was rejected for premium listing back then. Listed with a BIN of $1499 (Basic listing), received an offer of $1000 from a potential buyer via SH support, they asked for my minimum price, I quoted $1299 then... And after a few days of back and forth they didn't hear back from the buyer again so deal called off. I applied for name to be listed as premium, reason being it's attracting buyer interest and it was accepted. I listed it for $1799... Fast forward 8 months later, recieved a sales enquiry offer of $1299 from potential buyer, I suspected it might be same interest from the previous one, I set final price at $1499. Few days later buyer agreed and it sold.
Currently renewed a couple of (@120 names in February, managing a thousand name portfolio is headache on its own, u've got to treat it as a business to break even).
