It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven a its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese med ical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases: Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, ga str itis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and ear nose and throat diseases. METHOD OF TREATMENT 1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth , drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water , interesting 2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minutes 3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal. 4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours 5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day. 6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life. The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/ reduce main diseases: 1. High Blood Pressure - 30 days 2. Gastric - 10 days 3. Diabetes - 30 days 4. Constipation - 10 days 5. Cancer - 180 days 6. TB - 90 days 7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwa rd s - daily. This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times. It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life. Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active. This makes sense , The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals , not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain, For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed . It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal. A serious NOTE about heart attacks : Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive, |

Monday, June 14, 2010 Don't use canes, weapons police warn masquerades Olalekan Adetayo Cane, a fear-instilling symbol of celebration among masquerades, will not be in use as the annual Egungun (masquerade) festival commences in Ibadan, Oyo State capital. Also, the state police command has warned that sticks, guns and other weapons should not be used during masquerade procession. The ban is aimed at ensuring that there is no breakdown of law and order in any part of the city during the festival. The command's spokesman, Ms. Olabisi Okuwobi, said this in a statement made available to PUNCH MERTO on Sunday. Okuwobi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, warned masquerades to be orderly and eschew any form of violence during and after the festival. She warned that the command would not fold its arms while the security of the state was being threatened by masquerades who might be tempted to carry weapons, saying such action would not be tolerated. The police, however, urged members of the public to go about their lawful businesses as adequate security measures had been put in place to protect them. The police further warned that any act inimical to public peace would be resisted and dealt with, adding that the belief in some quarters that masquerades were ethereal being would not deter the police from arresting errant masquerades who breached public peace. In the same vein, it warned members of other religious beliefs, especially Muslims and Christians to desist from acts capable of disrupting the masquerade festivity as every Nigerian had the right to their religious belief. |
Written by Yinka Oladoyinbo, Akure Wednesday, June 16, 2010 AS the stool of the Deji of Akure becomes vacant, the man who was initially selected for the throne, Mr. Adegbola Adelabu, on Tuesday, asked the Ondo State government to install him as the next monarch. Adelabu, who spoke with newsmen in Akure, said having almost completed the installation rites before he was schemed out, he should be recognised and be allowed to assume the throne. According to him, the installation of the deposed Deji, Mr. Oluwadare Adesina, was done in error and a nullity having been restrained by a court of competent jurisdiction. It will be recalled that the 18 kingmakers in Akure kingdom had unanimously selected Adelabu in 2000 to become the Deji of Akure, after the demise of Oba Adebobajo Adesida. Adelabu, who was the candidate of the Osupa ruling house, had almost completed the traditional and installation rites necessary for the enthronement of a Deji before his installation was stopped. He was later replaced with Adesina, who was eventually installed the Deji of Akure in November 2005. However, following the deposition of Adesina by the state government, Adelabu said, "The installation of Adesina in the first instance was a nullity; the popularity referred to in the state chieftaincy law is the popularity with the kingmakers. "We cannot say that an Osupa man had ruled because the said Osupa man was not properly installed, there was an injunction stopping the matter before the government went ahead to present the staff of office and that is why we are having problem today, when somebody went through the rigours of performing the rites and he was denied. "I waited for over five years; nobody gave me staff of office, in his own case, within five days he was given staff of office so we all know that something was wrong with the process and it must be corrected". http://odili.net/news/source/2010/jun/16/616.html |
Wednesday, June 16, 2010 ABUJA — The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and other Related Matters, NAPTIP, has confirmed that the Egyptian girl married to Senator Sani Yerima was actually born in January 1996. Also, Nigeria has now fully complied with the minimum standard for the elimination of human trafficking. This was contained in the 2010 Global Trafficking in Persons report released by the United States Secretary of State, Mrs. Hillary Clinton, on Monday. Briefing newsmen yesterday in Abuja, Executive Secretary of NAPTIP, Mr Simon Egede, said: “We have concluded investigation into the controversial marriage of Senator Ahmed Yerima to a 13-year-old girl. “The information got from the Controller General of Immigration showed that the said girl was born in January, 1996. “Yerima will be in our office on Thursday to answer more questions and the outcome of our meeting with him will determine when he will be charged to court because we will leave no stone unturned in this matter. “We have all the necessary information about the girl-wife, the party that accompanied her from Egypt to Nigeria and her actual age and we will not hesitate to act based on the information we have at hand,” the NAPTIP boss said. The report also stated that Nigeria had demonstrated sustained progress to combat the scourge with strong commitments by US government to raise awareness of the problem. “The objective of the report is actually meant to grow partnership geared towards the elimination of the scourge of human trafficking in the world,” said Hillary Clinton. Egede said countries were assessed based on standards set in the protocol to prevent, suppress and punish trafficking in persons. He also said the standards had been expanded by his agency to include rehabilitation and reintegration of victims back into the society. His words: “In the annual report, countries are rated and assigned according to tiers one to three depending on the degree of compliance to the minimum standards for the elimination of human trafficking. The tier one status which was also secured last year, barely at my hundred days in office has been sustained within the period of the report. “Given this effort, we are renewing our call for government, stakeholders and international organisations, destination countries to gird their loins for greater battle. These moments call for fresh initiative and breathe into our arsenals, rather than relent on our oars. “We must inject more strength, determination and commitment to pursue and achieve the elimination of those factors that predispose and enhance trafficking of Nigerians out of the shores of the country while we internally promote a protective environment.” He explained that though Nigeria has retained tier one position, the elevation has not freed the country from the stranglehold of criminal syndicates who will want to continue with their crime. The NAPTIP Boss who admitted that many Nigerians still indulge in different forms of human trafficking and child labour said “NAPTIP has convicted sixteen (16) traffickers this year while about ninety (90) suspected traffickers are still in the court”. http://odili.net/news/source/2010/jun/16/309.html |
By Ola Agbaje Wednesday, June 16, 2010 The public was stunned recently when the Final Will and Testament of the late human rights icon, Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN) was released. Shock and disbelief were expectedly the reactions of the people when they learnt that the common man’s refuge, Gani Fawehinmi Chambers would cease to exist in less than two years after the demise of their hero. The late legal titan, according to the startling revelation in his last testament had decreed that his law firm which he used to defend the cause of the Nigerian masses throughout his lifetime should be wound up within two years of his death. Specifically, paragraph 18 of the will dated December 19, 2008, mandated the executors of the will to ensure that the chambers closes shop within two years of his demise. Fawehinmi in his will unequivocally declared: “My chambers, the Gani FAwehinmi Chambers at 35, Adeniran Ajao Road, Ajao Estate, Anthony Village, Lagos, shall be wound up literally within two years after my death. “I direct my trustees to effect all necessary repairs to my building at Adeniran Ajao Road, Ajao Estate, Anthony Village, Lagos when it is vacant. After the repairs, the building should be let out and the proceeds of the lease should be paid into Gani Fawehinmi Trust Account.” Daily Sun’s investigations revealed that the trustees have commenced executing the will according to the specific instructions of its author. Consequently, the books, collection of works, newspapers and other intellectual materials are being evacuated from the chambers to his ultra modern library located at Central Business District (CBD), Alausa, Ikeja, which had been completed just before his death last year. The movement of his law library reputed to be second to none in the country was part of the instruction he handed down to his Trustees in the will. Nobody could say precisely why Fawehinmi ordered that his law firm should close shop in spite of the fact that about six of his children including his heir, Muhammed, have joined the legal profession that fetched their father fame across the globe. To any layman, the most acceptable guess anybody could hazard is that the late lawyer wanted to avoid any situation whereby the existence of the chambers would constitute a subject of discord among his children. Perhaps, more importantly, the late legal practitioner might have been guided by the failure of several chambers of great lawyers to keep the flag flying after the passing away of their foundres. One could recall great chambers of legal titans whose fortunes nose dived rapidly no sooner than their founders , who were among the best legal minds in the land, passed on. Apart from the inability of the surviving children to build on and sustain the legacies of their founders, some of the firms have actually become sources of family discord as the children engage themselves in fierce legal battles for the control of the souls of such chambers. Expectedly, clients, the main stay of every law firm would waste no time in withdrawing their cases from such chambers and look for the emerging stars in the profession who could handle their matters competently. No doubt, the late rights activist lawyer whose contribution to the profession is unarguably second to none since the nation produced her first lawyer, Sapara Williams in 1886, must have given serious thoughts to some of these issues before he took the hard decision having watched closely what became of the chambers of some of his great seniors soon after their demise. Daily Sun spoke to constitutional lawyer and keen follower of Fawehinmi’s professional career, Fred Agbaje, on the development. While giving kudos to Fawehinmi for his refusal to follow the bandwagon of past great lawyers who believed wrongly that their chambers would sustain their legacies through their children, he described the revelation in the will as a wake-up call to the present generation of lawyers on the need to embrace partnership if they don’t want their legacies to die with them: “Gani was an intelligent man who did not want to delude himself in the euphoria that the chamber would remain the same even after he might have transited. “No child or children could sustain the legacy of any law firm. This is because the background of the father is different from that of the children. What shaped their world view, personalities, philosophy and vision are necessarily different. “Again, he has scored another first in this regard. He knew that the sustenance of legacy and the continued success of the chambers cannot be determined by the number of lawyers in the family. “Honestly, although nobody could say precisely why he took such a hard decision, I want to believe that he was looking back at history, particularly the history of chambers of great lawyers in this country who have passed away. Some of those great chambers hardly exist in the memory of the people anymore after the demise of the founders. “What Gani has done is a wake up call to the present generation of lawyers that if they are interested in sustaining their legacies after they might have gone back to their Creator, they must embrace partnership. This is the only way out. It is only through partnership that the philosophical ethos that distinguishes the practice of a particular chamber can be sustained. “The chambers that have survived for centuries in Europe and America have done that through partnerships. Long after their founders passed away, the chambers continue to retain their unique identity that defines the founders’ legacies. This is the path we must toe if we are seriously interested in anything called legacy.”

It was the first day of the session and a new direct entry student Mensah, a Ghanaian joined the class in one of Nigerria's university. The Lecturer said, "Let's begin by reviewing some Nigerian history. Who said 'I shall return to die in the land of my fathers'" She saw a sea of blank faces, except for Mensah, who had his hand up "King Jaja of Opobo, 1875" "Very good! Who said 'the land use act will feed the nation'"? Again, no response except from Mensah: "Obasanjo, 1976". The Lecturer snapped at the class, "Class, you should be ashamed. Mensah who is new to our country, knows more about its history than you do" The lecturer heard a loud whisper: " Ghana must go" "Who said that?" she demanded Mensah put his hand up. "Buhari, 1984". At that point, a student in the back scornfully said, "Hmmm, you think you are smart" The Lecturer glared and asked, "All right! Now, who said that?" Again, Mensah said "Babangida to Abiola, 1992." Now furious, another student yelled, "Oh yeah? Eat this!" Mensah jumped out of his chair waving his hand and shouting to the lecturer, "Indian mistress to Abacha, 1998!" Now, with almost mob hysteria, someone said, "You little Shit. If you say anything else, I'll kill you" Mensah frantically yelled at the top of his voice, "Chris Uba to Ngige,2004! The Lecturer fainted, and as the class gathered around her on the floor, someone said, "Oh shit, we're in BIG trouble now!" Mensah whispered, "Chimaroke Nnamani,James Ibori,Ayodele Fayose,Lucky Igbinedon,2007" |
From AKEEB ALARAPE, Osogbo Wednesday, June 9, 2010 Former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, has exonerated himself of any under hands dealing in the trial of suspects arrested in connection with the murder of former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice , Chief Bola Ige. Ladoja, who featured in a live interview on Reality Television Service, (RTS), Iwo , Osun State, which was monitored in Osogbo yesterday, was responding to the allegation by the National Chairman of the Action Congress (AC), Chief Bisi Akande, that his administration bungled the trial of suspects arrested in connection with the murder of the former minister, which included a serving Senator from Osun State . Ige was murdered in cold blood on December 23, 2001 at his Bodija Ibadan residence at the peak of the political crisis rocking Osun State then. His assailants were yet to be identified. In a recent publication in a national daily, Akande accused Ladoja’s administration of bungling the case by entering nolle prosecui when the trial was on, thus making it impossible for the suspects to be prosecuted. But reacting to the allegation yesterday, Ladoja debunked the allegation, saying the AC boss was trying to play politics with a sensitive issue like the murder of Ige. “I don’t want people to play politics with serious issues, maybe Chief Bisi Akande was playing politics with this issue. It is untrue that my administration entered into nolle during the trial of the suspects held in connection with the murder of Uncle Bola Ige. The case was tried in an open court and the accused were freed. “My administration did not interfere with the workings in the judiciary and the legislature. The three arms of government were separate and at the same time they worked together to ensure smooth running of government. Let Chief Bisi Akande understand the true position and stop misinforming the populace about what did not happen during the trial of those held in connection with the murder of Ige,” Ladoja stated. The former governor, who disclosed his intention to return to Agodi Government House in Oyo State, also took exception to the claim by his former deputy, now Governor of the state, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, that he had a hand in how he (Alao-Akala) was dismissed from the police force. “If he indeed said so that I had a hand in his dismissal, it is incorrect. I didn’t even know about the case because I was far away in England when he came to see me and said that he had retired; that he decided to take a voluntary retirement. Well, he is my friend and he stayed in my house for weeks. We were going from my house to the office for weeks. There was no time he told me he was dismissed. “But, when election was coming and I nominated him as my deputy, I got a barrage of protest. People were saying a lot of things but I know politicians. The easiest weapon we have in politics is pull-him-down syndrome. So, I confronted him and told him that this was what people were saying about him, but he said it was not true. I decided to investigate it but unfortunately none of the security agencies was able to assist. I did ask them to confirm to me whether it was true but they were not able to. “But when I got to the office, the former Inspector General of Police (IGP), now Asiwaju of Ogbomosoland, Chief Sunday Adewusi came to me and warned me to be careful. He said he was responsible for turning Akala’s dismissal to retirement when pressure was mounted on him. |
By Tony Amokeodo - PUNCH A two-year-old baby, Master Samuel Oji, has dragged the Lagos State Health Service Commission before a Lagos High Court in Igbosere, following his alleged claim that the LSHSC at its Apapa General Hospital performed a failed surgery on his head. In a suit filed through his next friend, Mrs. Rosemary Oji and Mr. Sunday Oji ( the parent of the minor), the claimants are also demanding N500m damages from the LSHSC for alleged grievous harm and pain caused by its negligence and breach of contract. The claimants had also in the writ of summons by their lawyer, Mr. O J. Adejumo, joined Dr. A Idowu; Dr. M. O. Tijani; Dr. Awosika; Dr. Sanusi; and Dr Mohammed Salisu (LASUTH) as co-defendants to the suit. The first claimant (Mrs. Rosemary Oji) had claimed that she had had one daughter through a caesarian section at the said Apapa General Hospital prior to the birth of Samuel on July 15, 2008. She added that during a medical check up, she was told that she could not be delivered of her baby except through surgical intervention. She however, alleged that the doctors that comprised the surgical team lacked the requisite professional training to perform such a complicated surgery, as she claimed that they inflicted a deep cut at the back of baby Samuel's head. The claimant further alleged that the handling of the caesarian section was negligent, saying that the agents of the LSHSC, the nurses, midwives, and attending physician did not discharge their duty of care to her and baby Samuel. She also claimed that the development had led to a situation where baby Samuel is experiencing complex seizure disorder capable of delaying his cerebral maturation. She further alleged that baby Samuel's growth and development was abnormal, saying that he could not achieve the usual child development like sitting, crawling, walking, talking and mental agility that LASUTH diagnosed him with Spastic Diplegic cerebral palsy. No date has been fixed for the hearing of the case. |

There are more than one million ways to show respect to someone.I know kneeling down is one of it, and very important as a Yoruba woman. I've never knelt down for my parents (excluding instances of punishment ), don't I respect them?Yes it's possible. There's this humble 12yr old girl when I firstly got here. The parent brought her to spend some days with me. After some time, the parent visited us and I called her out to come and greet them. She offered to greet them by hugging and pecking. I was so shocked and I asked why couldn't she kneel down for them. Her mum just laugh and said, "Omo abroad, what do you expect". I later commanded her to kneel down - you know what? She started crying as if somebody beat her. She found it strange as she never knelt down before. The parent admitted their mistake by not have thought her. I started teaching her and letting her know the importance of kneeling down for parent as a Yoruba girl. And now she loves to greet elders by kneeling down. |
little wonder most naija women dont last in matrimony with the sort of attitude we see displayed here, no respect for marriage/husband at all so what's wrong in a woman kneeling down for her husband? ehn? There’s nothing wrong if a woman kneeling for her husband once they possess authentic love. Every man want to feel respected. I doubt some men saying they can’t stand the sight, if they're luck to find someone who can do it for them - they will certainly appreciate it. |
bintab:Love it ba'je! Just another way of showing how much you admire your husband. Its somehow romantic to me. Anyway, it depend on individual. Cheers! |
dominique:You're right o! She can never forget how it happened. I really pity her. |

FRIENDSHIP is the key to any successful marriage. Love they say is a token of it. If you marry your best friend, you will be able to understand, trust and tolerate each other. I'm an example of it. |
There's nothing wrong with your boy, believe me. He's being independent and curious. Try to make good use of the situation. Find out what he like most and use it as weapons. Encourage him anytime he does well e.g. "You did well dear" or call him "good boy". And if he does the opposite, say NO and explain the reason to him e.g. "I told you no ball in kitchen - OK I'm not going to play with you". Do not say NO if you cannot do the follow up - very important please. Finally, let him know you really love and trust his decision. Its just that its important he listen to you. May God keep him and his brother for you. Good luck. |
freshera:May God forgive us all! |
chichiwill:As Yoruba intonation goes with the meaning 'Mu mi' can be 'Catch me' 'Mu mi' can also mean 'Drink water (i.e. 'Mu omi' in full writen) If its with apostrophe, that means 'Mu'mi' (Drink water) without apostrophe, it means 'Mu mi' (Catch me) |
Tragedy struck in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, on Wednesday, when thunder struck two middle-aged men, driver and mechanic to death. The third victim identified as Ibrahim Oke was still unconscious when the Nigerian Tribune visited the scene of the incident on Ibadan-Ife road. An eye witness, Sarafadeen Musibau, said that they were all at the open field recently allocated to the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) by the state government to serve as the new garage for the commercial vehicle operators when suddenly they heard the sound of the thunder. He said immediately, everybody started running helter skelter, looking for where they could hide, but before they knew what was happening, three people had been hit by the thunder. According to him, the deceased were drinking palm wine under a tree when they were hit by the thunder. He explained that one of the victims was carried by the thunder which hanged him on the tree before catching fire. He said the victim was burning when he later fell inside a drainage. The third victim, the Nigerian Tribune learnt, was on an errand when he was hit by the thunder. http://odili.net/news/source/2010/may/27/603.html |
