Back in 2011, a young man in China was dying for an Apple iPhone 4, which was the company's hot new phone at the time. 17-year old Xiao Wang made a deal that gave him enough cash to purchase the device, but at a very high cost. Wang sold one of his kidneys for the equivalent of $3,200 USD, which was more than enough for him to purchase the iPhone 4. The handset had become a status symbol at Wang's school, which is why he wanted one so badly.
According to Phonearena, the operation was performed at an underground hospital; Wang was told afterward that after a week of recovery, he'd be able to "live a normal life" with just the one kidney. But the operating room was not sanitized properly, and Wang soon developed an infection in the remaining kidney that made him deathly ill. And that is when Xiao's parents discovered what their son had done. While the Wang family didn't have the financial resources to buy the iPhone 4 that Xiao so coveted, things got worse when the family had to cover the cost of dialysis treatment.

Now 24, Xiao Wang is permanently disabled and will never live a normal life, and while he received a settlement from the hospital, he will need to continue with dialysis for the rest of his life, which will be shortened due to his illness. The moral of this story? It is better to purchase the things you want by paying with the fruits of your own hard earned labor instead of using a shortcut.

The Nigerian military has been enmeshed with numerous controversies on human rights abuses, ranging from using war grade .50 cal on unarmed protesters, to morally replehensive kind of torture to Nigerians they're supposed to be protecting. What more, you can't overtake them on the road without been punished!

In an unfortunate turn of an event, they're been killed like chickens in the hands of Boko haram and their number has greatly demished, so it is time to fill the gaps - recruitment.

The lazy youths this time, aren't buying the idea of joining the army because of the followings :-
i. The military image is badly dented that purchasing of modern hardwares is not viable; especially from the United States.
ii. The airforce which is the flagship branch of every armed forces around the world is a mess in Nigeria. Our airforce are still flying world War II fighters.

iii. Your death in active duty could be denied by the government, so no honorable burial. Simply put, Nigeria is not worth dying for.

Looking at all these, many are frowning on the idea of defending the nation. But, what if the government decides to bring the Israeli system of serving the country? Which is a 1 year mandatory military service after graduation. How does that go down with you?
