If Belgium should score first France will be in serious trouble.

There is nothing much to write because the Swedish team to me are just fortunate to be in the quarterfinals. Of course we can give Kudos to one or two strikers in the team but then they did not do much to cause a goal.

Pickford, the English goal keeper really really surprised me, he stopped one or two attempts from the the Swedish strikers. Pickford is a determine goal keeper, I think whenever the game get to penalties after extra times, one can count on him.

No goal for kane today, I believe the guy is influencing his fellow team mates positively in the attack. I like the way they were so slow in the attack which eventually resulted into the second goal.

This English team has been so fortunate because people did not really give them this chance of getting to the last four of world cup 2018.

It is over for the Swedish team and to the English team I say congratulations for getting to the semifinals.

A major upset has just happened in football history, the giant of the round leather game, Brazil , is out of the world cup 2018 tournament.

How? Why?

The answer is not far fetched because a better team with a sound technical background, Belgium came up with a unique strategy to bring the giant down.

You may say the Brazilians were robbed for not awarding them at least one penalty. Well, I guess viewers watched the last March against Mexico when Neymar was rolling and screaming on the floor holding his legs outside the touch line. They believed that Neymar was acting.

Today, the referee just looked away even though he was crying for penalty. Apparently, Neymar got punished today. Only God knows. No penalty today.

Belgians took their well planned chances today before the Brazilians realised that they are playing against a strong side

Williams was pull out for the Liverpool man but the Liverpool man could not convert open chances to a goal.

I was surprised when Lukaku was replaced, it was another strategy by the Belgian team to waste time. Lukaku got blocked two or three times so they used another game plan by replacing him and cool down the game.

Hazard understood the idea of time wasting and he used very well.

Costa ought to have started the game, he terrorised the Belgian defence but it was too late, although a goal was scored by Augustino

Today marked the end of Brazil while I congratulate the Belgium team for a job well done.

The match ended 2-0 in favour of the French team, many thanks to varane and Griezman goals that secured the semifinals qualification.

Uruguayans today missed the presence of their goal machine Cavani, Suarez could not do much without Cavani, the two combinations could have done great damage to the French team. The Uruguayans tried crossballs over the box 18 for a possible header but it failed woefully.

Nevertheless, the French team stood firmly at the back with a lot of concentration. It paid off at the end of the day without any goal or penalty whatsoever.

To me the French is a solid team with arrays of stars, and mbappe, Griezman, Pogba, Tolliso and so on. The team is blessed with good strikers, great defenders and a very focused goalkeeper.
It will take more than strength to beat them. This team can dribble, defend, attack, take a deadly pass that could result into a goal and take a very powerful shot at goal. They are full of so many options.

Brazil or Belgium must be at a very high level before they can subdue the French team.

Bravo to the French team for this achievement. Next time for the Uruguayans.

Why is this happening in Nigeria?

Encounter the best tactically sound game ever. Very hard game with a lot of tension. The Colombians are physically strong, they played hard. It was tough for the Premiere leaguers. The English team had no choice but to cool down or else they would be defeated.

The penalty was somehow controversial in the second half of the game but the pushing of kane was too much to be overlooked by the referee, serious arguments ensued between the referee and the Colombians team, the referee refused to go to the VAR to watch the replay. Eventually the penalty was well taken by the worthy captain, Harry kane.

Last minute effort by the Colombians earned them the equalizer. It was heart breaking for England.

Extra time opportunities were not taken by both team. Fatigue has taken hold of all the players so new players were brought in to replace the injured ones.

Penalty! Penalties! Penalties!

All the players were brilliant but two Colombians were not lucky enough to secure the victory that was snatched away by the English team.

Both team played very well but the Colombians have to say Goodbye to Russia 2018.

A big congratulations to the English team.

I believe they will be in semi finals but they have to be watchful of the Swedish strikers.

These two teams are not playing as one of the best in their various groups, in fact, I don't know how they managed to qualify. They are average teams with wrong passes, bad strikers, and so on. The own goal also is an evident.

Sweden will not progress beyond the quarterfinals unless they up their games. As for Switzerland, it is high time for them to go home.

What a game! The two sides really fought hard many thanks to the experience of Hazard, Lukaku, Fellani for making Belgium to excel in the end.

To be frank, all the premiere league goalkeepers in the world cup, De gea, countinho have not really impressed me although they tried but not the quality of the premiere league like their fellow attackers upfront who made it possible for Belgium to secure the quarterfinals ticket.

The Japanese were not contented after scoring two goals they ought to have changed the game and concentrate on defending rather than moving forward, the Japanese goalkeeper made a mistake for the first goal but he could not stop the last two goals.

This Belgium team needs to work very hard before they can defeat Brazil especially in the area of the goalie, the lack of confidence of Countinho may cost them the semifinal ticket.
If they continue with this team I bet you Brazil will beat them. I am very sure. Brazil will beat Belgium.

Japanese need good tacticians next time and bravo to Belgium for this win.

Personally, I don't see this present Brazilians team winning this world cup, from what I watched today, the whole Brazilian team revolves round their goal machine Neymar,.

The truth is other teams are watching if they can take out Neymar in the quarterfinals, Brazil is finished. There is no replacement.

Mexicans really really disappointed me, if it were to be other teams like France or Sweden, Brazil would have bitten the dust.

Mexicans were too selfish in the attack, instead of passing the ball to his fellow team mates to create chances for scoring they wasted good opportunities by shooting at goal without any tangible result.

Brazilians need to up their games or else they will be defeated by a strong team with a good coach.

Too bad for Mexico. Congratulations to Brazil for securing the quarterfinals tickets.

It is too late to do solve any problem now, Nigeria problems are complicated only Prayer to God can help us.

Well, it was more than dramatic in the sense that the two teams were more composed, consistent and calculated. It was clearly evident in the way the two goalkeeper demonstrated shrewdness during penalty.

It was somehow boring but in the end the team with the best luck won and not the best team so to say.

I congratulate Modric for scoring the second penalty because it could have been worse for him psychologically.

I believe any team that will defeat Croatia has a lot of work to do, they are strong mentally, physically and otherwise.

The best officiating game so far in this tournament, the referee was firm, accurate and fair.
De gea failed to concentrate while akinfeev was awesome.

Removal of Costa was another blunder, at least Costa could have scored his own penalty.

The Russian coach gave us another blueprint on how to defeat Spain. The Russian tactics really worked.

The ref did a good job. He gave you a first penalty and out of greed and selfishness you demanded a second. How many PK you wan chop in a game? If you can't score from open play then you deserve to come back home.

I think we deserve to lose. Croatia and Iceland were tactful, they made sure Messi did not get enough chance to score. What did we do? Messi was left almost totally unmarked for him to score. Even look at the accurate passes from the Argentines that led to the second goal.

Our strikers were not patient enough in front of goal to score. They were to hasty to score.

I also blame the coach. When you know that your strikers are not scoring goals, you have the power to change them, bring in new legs from the bench whose legs are still fresh. Behave like the German coach who is always thinking and calculating.
