How much do you pay on petrol, in a week of course you don’t have to come to the base if you have a place to charge a full charge should last for 350km anyway.
Just want to hear your views, my kind of feasibility studies

Anybody buying cars into the ehailing biz rite now is just on high risk.

I mean 1.8m-1.9m on a car for trips of #500, #1,200, #1,500,.

Nah, I can't just imagine putting that kind of money on a biz you HV no control over.

You can't determine the FARES
You can't control the ITINERARY
You can't control the amount of time (waiting endlessly for rides)

You go on leave, even if its a day, the cash stops immediately. embarassed

If the car is available, well give it a try. But to go n put 1.8 million on a car and d biz DT will always put you on the edge.
I'm afraid I can't

Towing van just towed a corolla on Isaac John rite now. That's like 20k shortage for d newbie driver dis week. Dis racket always full of blowing surprises.
If the drivers aren’t paying a Kobo for fuel l am sure it will be a big help, the driver should do his analysis of course, besides UBER also charges very low rates in the U.K. as low as £3 and USA as low as $4 it’s the quantum of jobs that you do that makes it worth while and popular and the use of cars that consume low amounts of petrol.

I will advise you bring like two first to test the market. For a driver to be bringing car to your office on daily basis means you will recruit drivers living around your office. Mind you most of the drivers partner in this line of business can't even predict where they will be at a particular hour of the day hence you see them turning the car to a self-contained apartment in every part of Lagos grin. Sometimes I will just laugh when a partner comes here and started saying the driver must reside around so so and so.
Business my Bruv is not for the faint hearted, nothing ventured nothing gained, its up to the driver to do the maths driving and not spending a penny on petrol, e go like am is it worth his while

Most hybrid charges while driving, but Electric isn't good investment yet in Nigeria and you'll need to install a dedicated charging station at home to get the best desired result
Charging using solar with a couple of plugs can be helpful, charging is a couple of hours, if we remove petrol cost drivers l believe will make more, needs to be tested though

With Hybrid you use less then half the Petrol you use normally , l am surprised he defaulted, what l am not sure of is if it is tough for our terrible roads

Mr Oga. I hope it will not shock you if i say i am the rightful owner of the car i drive.

In as much as I do know the mindset of an average driver towards owner (wanting to feed more than the owner) It doesn't erase the fact that things are hard this time with this economy reality.

We need to be fair with our fellow human. I set out yesterday around 8am and I got home past 11pm fully exhausted. What I came home with is not more than 5k after all expenses. Ride fare is so ridiculous couple with wait time before getting a rider.

Do you also know risk people take trying to move Lagos. God really saved me yesterday. My people, becareful around 2nd rainbow before mile2. Street urchain there are on a rampage. About three cars behind me was rubbed and they carted away with valuables. They hit my car and almost torn my side mirror while escaping. They were about 5 of them. Immediately they noticed we were stock in traffic and some people are beginning to turn of their ignition, they just came from nowhere, shattered there side glasses and forcibly took things from them.

Mind you, posting earning on a public domain is not only good for owner like you to see that drivers are making a killing sum and decided to remit peanut to the owner but also bad for so many other reasons. Security reason alone, knowing fully well that people from all walks of life view this forum for various reason including those law efforcement agencies who would always want to take advantage of your hard earn money. We need to be guided.
Advise taken Bruv but Drivers have a strong propensity to always cheat the owner if they can owners need to be in the know when things are improving they shouldn’t be kept in the dark, particularly when the lockdown is gradually being lifted.
May God bless your hardwork and send the right passengers to you.
Iam thinking of bringing electric cars to Nigeria there is no need 4 petrol at all, cars will be returned to base /office every night for a full charge and picked up the following morning do you think it’s feasible delivery will be 45k per week

My Brother anybody that can work and make a living should just thank God, you are lucky, the unemployment rate in both U.K. and USA is catastrophic.

Taking Petrol out of your running cost should be really helpful l suppose
40k should be a fair delivery amount

I don't think it's a good idea for this business in my father's land called Naijiria.

Hi guys, Make sure u receive a credit alert when a rider transfers to you. It is preferable to have ur mobile app. Yesterday, I transferred money to my care taker for utility bill. It showed “transfer successful” , it showed in my app too. This morning, it was reversed. If na rider wey done go how una wan take settle am?
If it means the driver dosent need to spend a Kobo on Petrol l think buying a generator will be worth while, cars will have to be packed in the office or base everyday for charging

Hybrid is a mixture of Petrol and electric and very low on fuel,
While ( Electric)cars are 100% electric no petrol, but needs to be charged overnight
Thinking of Bringing one of each to Nigeria for a trial after the pandemic see if works well with drivers at N35k Hybrid and 40k electric

OK guys. This goes to all sharing dashboard here. Except when really needed to prove anything, it is childish and also to the detriment of some drivers.
I had a chat with a pilot yesterday who told me that his car owner saw the earnings of the guy who said he made a lot recently. On seeing this, the owner asked the driver to revert to 25k per week. We all know remitting such amount is not that feasible for now. Trips are not predictable unlike before. The driver had to drop the car.

Now he s looking for a car again.

So many people come here to read this thread without even dropping comments. Let's mind what we post here. Thanks.

I guess some of us have already gotten the new Bolt account to pay into (Citi bank), so since morning but for a particular trip it's been card all the way.

Please is Uche still part of the National Working Committee (NWC) of Bolt(Taxify)? Too much card no make sense.
Paying cash is only done in a few countries, the real business model for UBER and Bolt is card,
Very unusual.

Most uber/taxify drivers are married men and women. Only a few of us have other line of income which is even nothing compare to what we derive from the uber income.

Well let me stop thinking like a local man.

Please guys I need you you start calling this number 08115138207 and use words "to encourage" him.

Picked his sister or babe from Isheri Magodo to Alheri hospital at Ojodu, she puked in my car, therefore I can't continue working (I don't even fault her , anybody fit sick and misbehave), trip ended at 900, guy man sent 1k and blocked my line even after explaining to him that he needs to pay for my car clean up.

Make una just encourage am with words as I mentioned earlier, now I have to stop working to clean the car, yet he doesn't see any reason to be courteous enough to do something about it.
Usually UBER ensures they pay for the clean up.

i didnt insult no one but if i was rude, i apologise.

my take is this, lets try to accept our truth then maybe we can improve our lives

the truth is that, most people here live in fantasy instead of facing realities of the work they do, as long as it pays the bill there is no shame being what ever you wanna be but the lies we tell ourselves, sometimes makes us believe in that fantasy.

some thinks because they are graduate that doing uber or taxify, people will start to lick their shoes or give them a grandiose welcome, but it does work that way, as long as you work in the service industry, you will meet different people, some who will be nice and some who will be rude, nobody cares whether you have a Bsc degree or a phd, what they care about is can you move me to my destination, can you render the services you promised

i think this is the reality most people need to know in this business, instead of the grand fantasies in their head.

that is my opinion and that is how people view this line of business.

i have worked as a waitress(a less prestige job) before i went to uni, so i know what i am talking about, do you think people wanted to know if i have attended courses to improve myself, they just wanted me to do my job, if mistakenly i poured a drink on a customer, do you think the customer will forgive me or if i thought i was bigger than the job, do you think, they will take me seriously.

The problem here in this country is people thinking because they are graduates they are bigger than driving uber, that is why they lie and lie online just to cover up for their lost fragile ego offline.
leave them and let them be,

Not insinuating but giving you the truth, the hypocrisy of Nigerians is strange.

Nigerian like you, will look down on roadside mehanics, call drivers and conductors names, treat their house girl or house boy like slaves, disrespect gatemen but then again want respect from people. Isn't respect reciprocal.

No matter, how you see uber or taxify job do not be deceived, it might be owned by a foreign company but it still falls under driving.

It might be a hard truth for you to swallow , the job isn't a prestigious job, you don't need certificates or a higher degree of education to be qualified as one.

Do you know, how to know a prestigious job? It is the way people/society treats you, the respect you get, have you seen people talking to a pilot or a captain in the Navy anyhow, No, because of the prestige and the respect of the job, if people respect a profession, they will never talk rude to you.

I have done extensive research on Nigerians and I can confidently write many Nigerians are liars, they overexagerate everything, from their qualification to their even their personal life, I never take seriously anything a Nigerian says at first value until I have done a thorough background check.

Nairaland, is the real picture of Nigeria, the too much ego, the lies, the scams, the deceit, Nigerians, will take pictures with a top a govt official they met in a function, then use that same picture as a proof that he works with that official, or try to deceive people with that picture to get contract. you can never do a business with a Nigerian and sleep well, you must have hypertension, I guess that is why it is common here.

You may hate me, I don't care, I say my truth as I see it.

Every Nigerian is a millionaire, works in chevron, and lives in Vi and lekki until you start to do your own check, then the pieces starts coming together.
As long as God respects you and assist you the views of others don’t count,
Sexy you are not being nice, why these insults, its so unnecessary and beneath you.
