I guess he didn't read the part where the driver told her to call her bf to update the trip
There is no need to ask her to call her bf why what for, when the system does the recalculation automatically.

Three days ago, I accepted a trip from New Horizon 1 and was scheduled to drop the rider at Chevy view estate. On getting to pick-up location, the ride was for the rider's girlfriend and card trip. We started the trip in earnest, on getting to Ologolo busstop, the girl told me she wants to pickup something at Ajah before going to Chevy view estate. I simply asked her to tell the boyfriend to update the trip otherwise, I can only drop her Chevy view estate. The girl provoke! She cursed the living daylight out of me, asking whether I'm the only Uber driver she's encountering. I reminded her that Uber have given me a final notice for fraud relating to this issue. She cursed me more and then said that "I'm a frustrated human being and that's why I'm doing Uber". On hearing this a little bit after new road (just before chevron busstop), my head turn, I packed my car and ended the trip immediately after notifying the rider on app. The foolish girl refused to come down. After a while, due to traffic, and the place was becoming somewhat unsafe, I did U-turn at chevron drove straight back to ikate busstop and packed my car finally. On our way to ikate she fiddled with my AC, I helped her put the AC on highest heater and locked whining glass. On getting to ikate, I locked her inside and moved to the pedestrian bridge to report a case of discrimination to Uber with video evidence. After about 1 hour, she shamelessly came down and I screeched off. Uber called me from America and apologized on the rider's behalf after I corroborated my story.

That’s a very wicked thing to do, your lucky you are in Nigeria, if you try that nonsense in another country you will be arrested for it, when you are taking a passenger to a specific address and they ask for a detour, the system recalculates the detour and adds the cost to the final amount.
If you are truly ashamed of working as a UBER driver pack it up l beg, don’t take it out on your rider, Europeans, Indians with PhD, Masters degree do this job, even those working as investment bankers , teachers, so what’s a little insult that you will treat a lady like that, you are a terrible person and wicked, Trying to drop her off in an unsafe place.
Insults comes with the job Bruv , which job is perfect or without insult,

I think uber is stubborn. They are loosing d market daily. I expect them to take back d market from bolt. Bolt keep strategizing to get more drivers to their platform, yet Uber don’t care. If Uber take 20%. Show destination, Increase fare slightly above bolt, I bet u they will take back the market.
Uber is really big in Colombia they have 90K drivers
London 5Ok drivers.
India 450k Drivers’s and
America about 550k drivers
Nigerian is very small to be honest

When people criticize Tinubu especially the Yorubas I just grim, what of the likes of Orji and his Goons. What of the Sarakis, what of the Lion of Nsukka in Enugu, what about the Ibori of Delta and many more. If not for Tinubu the Edo that termed him thief will still be at the mercy of Igbinedions. So what this Guy has done for you Yorubas is more than what Obasanjo did for you. I am not a supporter of Tinubu but the Jagaban himself has made more leaders than thief's, leaders you cherish and sing their praises today. So if we are pointing fingers or accusing anybody start with your parents for the decay we have today.
Tinubu fought oppression where were your parents?
Tinubu fought to save Lagos from Obasanjo back then, where were the voices of your Parents?
When the Abacha regime detained the messiah of the Nation Abiola and the NADECO of the likes of Tinubu went underground to get him out and restore his mandate your parents and the Yoruba OBAS were out there taking bribes and praying to prosecute the best thing that could help them.

Am more of Ibo by mind Awolowo you all worship today was not your messiah but a wicked and callous and self centred bastard that want nothing good for you Yorubas. Akintola that was fighting to restore your dignity was murdered by the same yoruba elements.

If Awolowo had stick to his words he told Ojukwu after he was released from prison, "If by error or omission the Ibos were allowed to go the Yorubas will follow, the bastard barely got to Lagos when he was made a minister and the two tongues bastard instructed that Hunger was part of war"

How I wish my Generation can mend ways with the Ibos to trust us again so we can both stop the domineering attitude of the North.
I agree with you Bruv.

TINUBU MOST NOT BE DISGRACED OR HUMILIATED I AM APPEALING TO ALL RIGHT THINKING YORUBA’S TO SAVE THE JAGABAN, HE MUST NOT BE BETRAYED BY THE YORUBA’S

Tinubu has his faults but he is better then 90% of other leader, look at lagos today compare with Delta, Rivers and Akwa Ibom they were on the same level in 1999.
Lagos as it stands is richer then Ghana and would be the 5th richest state in Africa if it were a country.
Delta, Rivers and Akwa Ibom had the same revenue in 1999 with Lagos but look at lagos today under Tinubu’s guidance.
They say he uses thugs and has too much money.
Was Awolowo poor he had a vast personal estate in old Apapa and got 5p on every bottle of coke sold, he had 63plots of land in Lekki.’
Did Awolowo have thugs, chief Adedibu , chief Adelakun used to be his chief thugs in the 60’s.
It’s what politics demands in Nigeria.
Let’s stop fooling our selves,
Tinubu is a great leader , He took Buhari by the hand and made Buhari President, Buhari without Tinubu could never have defeated ATIKU or have we forgotten how the JAGABAN OF BORGU, TOOK OVER EVERY HOTEL IN THE CITY WHERE THE PRIMARIES TOOK PLACE TO ENSURE BABA’S PMB’S VICTORY,
TINUBU, does not deserve this disgrace o!!
HE IS THE ONE WHO PERSUADED DANGOTE TO INVEST HIS $14b REFINERY IN LAGOS A GREAT FUTURE MONEY SPINNER AND EMPLOYER OF LABOUR IN LAGOS IT WILL PLACE LAGOS AS THE 3RD RICHEST IN AFRICA IF LAGOS WERE A NATION,
EKO ATLANTIC ANOTHER OF JAGABANS DOING WILL CREATE ANOTHER 100,000 JOBS, THE NEW PORT AND AIRPORT TO BE BUILT IN LEKKI IS ALL PART OF JAGABAN TINUBU’S PLAN FOR LAGOS THAT WILL CREATE ANOTHER 150,000 JOBS.
WHAT EVER HIS FAULTS TINUBU HAS BEEN GOOD, NOT ONLY TO LAGOS BUT TO ALL THE YORUBA’S AND EVEN NIGERIA.
THE NORTH PARTICULARLY BUHARI SHOULD RISE UP FOR THIS GREAT AFRICAN.
IF TINUBU WAS IGBO OR HAUSA FULANI HE WOULD BE REVERED NOT DISHONOURED.
THE ORIENTAL HOTEL AND LEKKI PLAZA DOES NOT BELONG TO TINUBU. PLS ITS MERE RUMOURS.

Plsssss Biko if it’s not your car don’t believe this 800k in Nov/Dec.
it’s this same misinformation that led to people dying at lekki toll gate... celebrities Left the toll gate immediately they heard curfew but didn’t cajole others to go home. In nutshell know when to join hustle and when to pull out.
I joined the hustle in 2019 with my own car with the mindset of netting 350k every month but had to work from 5am to midnight everyday, na only God save.
I worked 5am to midnight everyday for 2yrs it’s not really hard,if you are not lazy, but l think 5days 5am to midnight 4/5 times a week is about right, one shld take at least 2days off, eat well and sleep well, I noticed That Nigerians are lazy, they complain too much.

Look for better things to do with your life. It's not profitable driving for anyone if it's not your car. You will get fatigued and burn out your youth. If your situation is that desperate, do it temporarily for a few weeks driving for someone just to keep your mind occupied.

You may be making 60k a week, half of that money will go to your partner, one third of that money will go into fuel, at least 5k will go into miscellaneous. What is left for you to take home? It's slavery if it's not a side hustle with your car.

The uber thing was never designed as a business model, it will never be. Don't waste your time if you don't have a car. There are other opportunities out there for you, look deeper. Just a word of advise.
MY OGA,Ndubuis
How long have you been driving for UBER, not many jobs today pays you the kind of money you make from UBER, friend of mine makes btw N80k and N120k monthly.
Nov/ Dec with hard work you can make 800k in two months and start a side business to add to your UBER business,
Be Prayerful, focussed and positive and take time to relax.

Hello bosses, I want to start an Uber business in Lagos. I already have a driver in mind. Please what is the current average weekly delivery in Lagos. I don't want give my driver an amount that would leave him with nothing at the end of the week or where he will be struggling to pay and I also want to avoid a situation where I am being shortchanged.

Thank you all in advance
My suggestion to you is wait when the business environment is better, say September or October unless you are giving out your car for ultristic reasons I believe when things get better you should hire it out to an experienced driver btw N30,000 and N35,000 but you should take absolute responsibility for all mechanical faults either major or minor.

THE CIRCLE OF POVERTY
THE GODFATHER

Interesting reading.:-
I run a manufacturing business and a trading business.
The biggest challenge in my manufacturing business is not power, or infrastructure, the biggest challenge is getting honest staff. Everyone we hire is appears to be on a mission to steal as much as possible. Inflated invoices, recording less than the actual number of units produced. The worst part of it all is that all the fraud we've uncovered is not done by a single person, it's usually many staff who collude with each other, from production, to sales, to finance, even top management. There was a year I overhauled management 3 times in a year. But I've found a solution sha, I now use Indian management. So competent, so honest and so straightforward. I thought they were expensive at first with all the visa fees, accommodation, house staff, but now that losses due to staff theft have been reduced to a minimum, and efficiency increased, the Indian management has turned out to be cheaper than the previous Nigerian management. Now, all sensitive positions involving money go to Indians. Nigerians are only allowed in non-sensitive positions. I used to criticize companies like Dangote Group that hire so many Indians when there are many unemployed Nigerians, but now, I understand their decision.

My biggest challenge in the trading business is the same, getting honest staff. The form of trading occurs in the open market, and involves staff having access to huge sums of money running into a few millions. I know how much I pay to security companies to provide escorts for the staff, not to prevent robbery, but to ensure that the staff go straight to the bank to deposit the money after the day's sales and not disappear with my money. This money spent on security companies is even enough to be declared as profit. We have to spend on CCTV, biometric scanners and other things that wouldn't not be needed if staff weren't looking for the slightest opportunity to steal.

It got so bad at a point that my main criteria for employing staff was no longer competency but honesty. At least, competency and skills can be learnt, but once you're dishonest, you're dishonest.

We always complain of the economy and how they are no jobs. I know people abroad who would have loved to set up job creating businesses in Nigeria but they can't because they can't get any trustworthy person to run it.

I know people in Nigeria with so much money, they want to start factories and other job-creating businesses but they can't because they are occupied elsewhere and can't get any trustworthy person to run the business. So instead of investing in the real sector and creating jobs, they'll just buy treasury bills, while the thieves are shouting no jobs.

Many big businesses would have been born in Nigeria if we could engage in partnerships, but we cant because you can't trust anyone. This is one advantage the Indians and Lebanese have over us in Nigeria. They can pull resources together and do mega-business, unlike Nigerians that because only one person must do everything since we can't partner, end up with small, tiny businesses.

Start a poultry and they will be stealing your eggs. Some will even go
ahead to be killing the chickens so that they'll be allowed to take them home.

Start an entertainment/viewing/game center and they'll be pocketing
your money. On the days you're around at the business, the money
realized will be x10 of the money realized when you're not around.
Because they're eating your money.

Lease out a vehicle to a driver to use and watch as he'll finish you.

Start a restaurant, the same thing will happen. More than half of the
total food ingredients will end up in their personal kitchens.

Even ordinary provisions shop, they will find a way to steal.

You'll see them with that their evil, wicked saying "na where person dey work, na there e dey chop, na e make dem dey callam workchop/workshop"...... Just imagine, justifying theft at work.

And you'll see these people point their crooked fingers at politicians when they're not any different. I usually say the reason most Nigerians haven't stolen billions of government money, is simply lack of opportunity.

Nigerians are the problem of Nigeria.

For those eyeing the moove cars. Its easy to take a car. Paying for it is the issue.

Hypothetical example.
A 2016 corrolla ,say #6,000,000.

Payment- #25,000
50 weeks( in a year)- #1,250,000

4 years 6months.
Iout

And I'm sure they have to markup the price to make some profits.

4 years and 6 months of your life paying #25,000 weekly.

With dirt cheap fares....

They have your BVN too.,they will look at your cash flow for d past 6 months, so if you want a brand new car your monthly turnover must be really impressive.

Reason the issue well o.
We pay 5yrs for a brand new car in London looks like a fair deal more so with our fluctuating currency
