Romance › Nkiru Sylvanus Secretly Married To Vice President’s Aide As 2nd Wife? by godman01(op): 4:51pm On Jan 14, 2013
This is the story currently trending on social
media about Nkiru Sylvanus,we are tracking it for
you to get the facts
Few days after she was released from kidnappers
den, Nollywood actress and Special Assistant on
Public Affairs to Governor Rochas Okorocha of
Imo State, Nkiru Sylvanus got married to her
long time heartthrob secretly, yemojanews.com
can exclusively revealed.
The man who swept Nkiru Sylvanus’s feet is the
media spokesman of Vice President Namadi
Sambo, Mallam Umar Sani. Our sources revealed
that the wedding which held two weeks ago was
given a media blackout and attended by handful
of family members.
Yemoja gathered that the wedding was made
hush-hush because of the media attention that
greeted the kidnapping of the actress and because
the VP’s media man has a wife already which will
make Nkiru Sylvanus his second wife.
Nkiru Sylvanus was kidnapped by some gunmen
in Owerri on Saturday, December 15, 2012 and
demanded a ransom of 100 million naira for her
release.
Nkiru Sylvanus was released about a week after,
though there were unconfirmed reports that a
ransom was paid.
One of the Vice President’s Spokesman’s friends
confirmed the marriage and told
yemojanews.com that, “it is not for public
knowledge”.
Yemoja learnt Nkiru Sylvanus and Umar Sani had
been dating for a while and it was Sani, who got
the political appointment for the actress in Imo
State.
“Umar Sani and Rochas Okorocha are close
friends. Umar facilitated Nkiru Sylvanus’s
appointment in Imo State. You know Nkiru is
from Abia State and not Imo”, our source
declared.
The source further told Yemoja that it was Umar
Sani that paid ransom of several millions of naira
which made the kidnappers to release the actress

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Cheslea Sign Newcastle's Demba Ba by godman01(op): 1:12pm On Jan 04, 2013
Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Demba Ba for an undisclosed fee.

The Senegal international moves to Stamford Bridge following an 18-month spell with Newcastle United, and has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Blues.

He will be eligible for selection for tomorrow's FA Cup match at Southampton, and the Capital One Cup semi-final against Swansea, but cannot play for us in the Europa League this season having appeared in the competition for Newcastle. He will wear the no. 29 shirt.

'It feels good to be here, I'm very happy and very proud,' Ba says.

'It was important for me, and for Newcastle, to get my future sorted and now we can move on. Now they have the whole month to buy someone and for me as well, the sooner the better. Now I am here I just need to get settled in.

'When the club who won the Champions League wants you, the decision is very easy. This club is massive and that's something that helped the decision a lot. It was not a hard one.'

The 27-year-old enjoyed a memorable time on Tyneside, where his ruthlessness in front of goal played a major part in last season's fifth-place league finish.

Most comfortable playing as a lone striker, Ba's predatory instincts in and around the penalty area make him a difficult player to handle and he also possesses the ability to score spectacular goals.

Born in Sevres, in the suburbs of Paris, Ba's career began at Port Autonome du Havre, where he played for two years between 1998 and 2000, before moving to Frileuse.

After a short spell with the French club, Ba, who started out playing in the centre of midfield but moved up front at the age of 18, transferred to Montrouge in 2001.

It was there he began to make a name for himself, and he then headed to England where he was offered trials with Barnsley and Watford.

Having enjoyed a fruitful relationship with former Chelsea player Ray Lewington, who was Watford manager at the time, it looked as though Ba had found a place to settle.

However, when Lewington left soon after, Ba moved back to France where he signed a one-year deal with Rouen in the Third Division.

A return of seven goals in 32 matches earned him a move to Mouscron, in the Belgian top flight, where an impressive albeit short spell paved the way for his transfer to 1899 Hoffenheim in the German Second Division at the beginning of the 2007/08 campaign.

It was to prove a significant time in Ba's development, and he was a key figure in helping the club gain promotion to the Bundesliga.

Their first season back in the top flight saw Hoffenheim finish in a respectable seventh, aided in no small part by Ba's 14 goals.

In January 2011, he was back in England, and signed for West Ham United.

After making his bow for the Hammers as a substitute in a game against Birmingham City, Ba endeared himself to the supporters a week later on his full debut, where his two goals helped West Ham fight back from 3-0 down to earn a 3-3 draw away at West Bromwich Albion.

On a personal level, his time at Upton Park went well, with seven goals in 12 appearances, but collectively the team underperformed resulting in their relegation from the Barclays Premier League, prompting Ba's move to Newcastle United.

He netted two hat-tricks in quick succession, against Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City, at the beginning of the 2011/12 season.

This impressive start to life at St James's Park was rewarded with the Premier League Player of the Month award in December 2011, and he finished the season as the club's top scorer with 16 goals to his name.

The current campaign saw Ba continue where he left off, as he broke the deadlock with a fantastic volley against Tottenham Hotspur on the opening day of the season, while shortly after his brace at Goodison Park helped Alan Pardew's men secure a well-earned 2-2 draw against Everton.

His last performance in a Newcastle shirt came in the weekend's 7-3 defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates where he netted a brace.

Thus far, he has scored 13 Premier League goals this season.

Ba has established himself as a regular in the Senegal international set-up since scoring on his debut back in 2007 in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania.

He has scored four times for his country and becomes the first Senegalese player to join Chelsea.

Nairaland General › How Bishop Disgraced Jonathan, Others During Azazi’s Burial by godman01(op): 5:07pm On Dec 31, 2012
It was a big shame for President Goodluck
Jonathan and other political leaders on Saturday in
Bayelsa State as Bishop of Bomadi Catholic
Diocese, Vicarage Hyacinth Egbebor, in his
homily, blamed the crash that killed former NSA
Andrew Azazi and former Governor Patrick
Yakowa on corruption.
At the state funeral of Azazi in Peace Park,
Yenagoa, attended by President Goodluck
Jonathan and his wife, Patience, the Minister of
God insisted that leaders in the country were so
corrupt that they had compromised the safety of
everywhere, including the airspace.
The cleric wondered why within one year, Nigeria
had recorded three air mishaps including the
December 15 tragedy at Okoroba in Nembe Local
Government Area, Bayelsa State.Slowly and
gently, the priest, who intermittently drew
applause from those at the solemn occasion,
highlighted the failings of the government.
Comparing the country’s airspace and aviation
management to America and Europe, the cleric
said Nigeria had become a joke.Turning to the
Military Chiefs present, the priest said it was
unfortunate that corruption had crept into the
military. “Corruption is the only underlying evil
that is responsible for the air mishaps. If the
military cannot guarantee the safety and security
of their own, who else can they protect?
“If there is anywhere one looks for excellent
performance, it is the military. Now we have
compromised excellence for money. Money has
taken over,” he said.

Celebrities › “my First Sexual Experience Was Horrible” – Nollywood Actress, Laide Bakare by godman01(op): 2:03am On Dec 25, 2012
In a recent with the Sun Newspapers, popular
actress Laide Bakare, talked about how her
parents tried to stop her from becoming a screen
star, her rise to fame, her sex life and what exists
between her and 9ice.
Excerpts from Laide Bakare’s interview:
What have you being doing lately?
Laide Bakare: I just made a multi-million naira
movie. The movie is entitled, Jejere and it features
9ice who played a major role including talented
actors like Emeka Ike, Akin Lewis, and Fathia
Balogun among others. It has really taken a lot of
my energy because it is not just about me but
basically about being a business woman and
entrepreneur, someone that invested so much in
a production company called, Simline Records.
The company is borne out of my love for music
and the arts. My interest is solely to help identify,
grow and support talented youths.
What’s the main focus of your movie,
Jejere?
Laide Bakare: Simline is putting together a world-
class event to officially unveil and present these
projects. The event tagged: “The Laide Bakare
Experience” will witness the premiere of the
movie, “Jerere” and official presentation of my
record label and its artistes. The event would be
rounded off with a concert that will feature
performances by King Wasiu Ayinnde, T-code
and 9ice among others. It will take place at Orchid
Hotel, Lekki, Lagos on Sunday January 13, 2013.
When you make a good movie and interpret it, it
doesn’t matter the language. I went extra length
to make a good quality movie, which talks about
bad leadership, discrimination against women,
love and culture. The movie will be in major
cinemas from this month.
At what time did you decide to be a
filmmaker?
Laide Bakare: It has always been my passion to
be a filmmaker. My coming into the movie
industry actually started from the idea of me
being a filmmaker and a business woman.
Though, I have been carried away with acting, I
knew that deep inside me I will make good
movies one day. So, when the time came, I gave
it full attention. That’s exactly what I am doing
now though, I produced my first movie in my
second year at the university. So far I have done
about 12 movies. I am never in a hurry to make
movies. I do movies that will impact society
positively.
How did you venture into movie industry?
Laide Bakare: I never planned to go into acting. At
a point I thought about going into politics, but I
don’t like Nigerian politics. My father owns a hotel
and movie people used to come and shoot in the
hotel. So, anytime they needed help, I was the
one providing it for them. Among my father`s
children, I was the only one that was assisting
them. Then, I was a teenager, about 16 years old
and was about to go to University of Ibadan to
study Theatre Arts, most of them encouraged
me to start acting while I was still in school.
How did your parents feel when you
wanted to join tbe movie industry, did they
object?
Laide Bakare: My parents never objected to my
acting career. In fact, they supported my very
first production. I remember my mum cooked
for me on location. At the time, I was in school
and my father had bought a camera for me to
produce my movie. My dad has been supporting
the movie industry for a long time. I will say
from day one, my dad and mum had been there
for me. They stood by me even when some
actors were trying to look down on me because
they thought that making movie is only for old
people, but my parents encouraged me. Today, a
lot of actresses have learnt from me to take bold
steps.
Tell us about your background?
Laide Bakare: My dad is from Ibadan, Oyo State
and my mum is from Oshogbo in Osun State. I
grew up here in Lagos and my father owns a
hotel and construction company. I graduated
from University of Ibadan.
What was your growing up like?
Laide Bakare: My growing up was very interesting
because we have one boy and some females.
We have always been popular in our area
because our street is named after my father, that
is Bakare Street. So, people in the community
used to call us Bakare girls. While growing up
within the neighborhood, I have always been
popular but sometimes I would just pretend I
didn’t know.
What is your relationship with 9ice
Laide Bakare: 9ice acted a major role in the movie,
Jejere. I am surprised because I don’t know what
prompted the story that 9ice and I are dating.
Some people like to create something out of
nothing. There is nothing of such between us.
We are just friends. I am too big for that kind of
rumour.
Do you have any plan to produce English
movies ?
Laide Bakare: I can make English movies. I am a
movie maker, it doesn’t matter what genre of
movie. I have an English movie that I am
working on, and very soon we would produce it.
What is the craziest thing a fan has done to
you?
Laide Bakare: They said I am a short woman. But
I am not short. As a matter of fact, my stature
doesn’t stop me from being who I am. But it can
be embarrassing sometimes.
How long have you been married?
Laide Bakare: Yes, I am married for so long. I
don’t like discussing my family, that’s my private
life. I have one kid. But I don’t want to talk about
that.
How do you strike balance between your
job and the home front?
Laide Bakare: It is God. I won`t talk about my
family because that’s what I so much cherish. I
so much treasure my daughter and my
husband. I treasure them a lot. I avoid anything
that will affect them. I don’t want to have
problem with my family. I don’t want to put
them in the public eye. I would rather keep it to
myself.
Most men would like to date a pretty lady
like you. How do you handle stubborn male
admirers?
Laide Bakare: Most of them know that I am
married. Even if they are crazy about me, they
should know that I am married. Actually, there is
nothing to talk about them. I don’t like talking
about man or woman affairs. It’s one thing I
don’t really like to talk about.
What challenges do you encounter as an
actress?
Laide Bakare: The only time I had challenges was
when I was in the university. It was not easy
struggling with education and work. Struggling
with my education and the birth of my baby was
also a challenge. At a time, I needed to leave
school to go and have my baby so, all those
things were challenging. I had to travel out of the
country to meet my husband and then come
back. I was always going out and coming in.
How do you cope since your husband is
based abroad?
Laide Bakare: We always keep in touch. We travel
to meet him over there and he also comes home
to be with us. That’s how we have been coping.
We are here today, we are in America tomorrow.
But it has been fun. We create time for work,
either his work or my own work. It might not
work for other families but it works for us.
Can you fight over love?
Laide Bakare: I believe in love but not to the extent
of fighting or committing suicide or even killing
someone over it because life must go on. I don’t
believe that love is blind. I believe in love but you
have to open your eyes widely to see it.
Is there any part of your body you cannot
expose no matter the offer?
Laide Bakare: Yes, of course, my private part. I
have to keep it, I can`t expose it. But I can expose
my back and legs. I can expose the whole of my
back. That’s all.
Your husband wouldn’t feel bad about
exposing any part of your body?
Laide Bakare: No, he can`t feel bad. He loves what
I am doing as an actress. He encourages me and
he wants me to do more.
How did you feel about your first kiss on
screen?
Laide Bakare: I cannot remember it because it was
not memorable. It was a long time and it was not
passionate.
When did you start having sex?
Laide Bakare: I didn’t start having sex at early age.
It took me a very long time even though it was
something I had always been looking forward to.
I looked up to it almost three years before I
eventually had sex. It wasn’t a nice experience
with my first boyfriend. We dated for six years
and we had sex after four years of our
relationship. I was 18 when I met my first
boyfriend. I was still a virgin then, even while in
the movie industry for close to three years. I
think the first time I had sex I was about 21 years
old. It was what I had been looking forward to,
but it wasn`t a nice experience.
What makes a good actress?
Laide Bakare: It’s the ability to interprete all the
roles given, any role at all.
Would you allow your daughter to go into
movies?
Laide Bakare: No. I don’t like it, may be,
something else but definitely not the movie
industry. I don’t know why I don’t want to
involve my daughter in that line. It is not easy
handling things and all that. I love my daughter to
be popular, but probably in other profession not
in the movie industry.
Christianity Etc › Lagos Demolishes N100m Church During Service! by godman01(op): 1:48am On Dec 25, 2012
Officials of the Lagos State Government have demolished a certain ‘Pure Fire Miracles Ministries International’ (PFMI) church located at Afero village on Lekki-Epe Expressway.

The church was having its annual convention with over 10, 000 worshippers from 12 foreign countries in attendance when the officials stormed the building.

The bulldozers from the taskforce moved in immediately and three of the buildings were brought down before the traditional ruler of Epe, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, Chairman of Epe Local Government and other prominent citizens in the community intervened to stop the exercise.

It was gathered that men of the Lagos Task Force, accompanied by officials from the Ministry for Physical Planning and Urban Development (MPPUD), carried out the demolition over allegation that there was no approval for the erection of the building.

The church structures, worth over N100 million, were erected on a 10-acre of land. The structures comprise six auditoriums, offices, residential buildings and buildings for other purpose.

According to the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Toyin Ayinde, “there was no approval for the church building and notices had been served to the church asking them to vacate the land, because the land fell within the proposed Lekki International Airport”

The church however disputed the claims by the government that it had no approval. A document from the legal adviser to the church’s pastor, Enoch Idowu Aminu, Messrs Ibrahim A. Shittu and Co., of Probono Chamber, showed that the land was purchased from Ikujenya Okanlawon Ikuforiji Chieftaincy Family, with the address at 3, Ikujenya Street, Bado Oke, Epe, Lagos State, on 21 May, 2010.

The purchase, according to the cleric, was carried out as a result of the information contained in the Lagos State of Nigeria Official Gazette, No. 29, Volume No 27, September 1, 1994.

This was confirmed in the official receipt of payment, dated 23 November, 2011, in the sum of N1.64 million. The church claimed that the government lied by saying that the property fell within the proposed airport as other buildings in the same vicinity were not demolished.

smartmom: You need to really build up your communication line with Baba God via the Holy Spirit(am assuming you are really a born-again christian too) because only then can you hear and discern who is a real christian and besides, there is a specific christian girl custom made to suit you. I know it may sound difficult but you can actually hear from God concerning this but 1st build up your faith and have a habit(character) of listening and obeying Him.

Anything apart from this can land you in real hot water and even spell doom for your life! They are too many fakes out there.
So is there any reference in the Bible which says you only have a specific person. And do you know that if Adam did not accept Eve as his wife, God would have created another one for him.

kITA TITA: Don't go to church looking for 'real' Christian girls. They are not there. You don't need the exhortations of the pastor to do good or be a Christian. In the church there appears to be unreal tendency towards doing good. It should be a natural compulsion and unfortunately not too many church goers are there for salvation or to do good. Most of them are there for individual purposes. You should be able to encounter real Christian ladies in everyday activity. There is no special place that they congregate.
Was there any mentioning of church. Ofcourse you can see them anywhere!
tpia1: hope the op and cronies arent trying to target them for attack?

you want to derail their future?

just asking.
Nothing like that! I want one for myself because I am one.

With all the superficiality and pretense that is the order of the day especially among ladies of now are days, how do we pick out the real christian(I mean born again, because everyone is now a christian) ones that are going somewhere with their life?
