dasparrow: The american doctor was given a serum back in the USA while the Nigerian doctor in Nigeria was given no treatment at all since there is no cure for the disease here in Nigeria or in other parts of Africa for that matter. Remember, the white man manufactured this virus in their labs or so it seems so they also have the antidote to cure or halt the disease but trust that they won't share so that Africa's black population will decrease dramatically. My opinion.

The reason why Ebola is spreading in west Africa is because we are not well prepared for an epidemic. You should the great efforts put in place by the U.S to transport the Ebola doctor to a well equipped plane and well equipped quarantine facility. The Serum that you guys are talking about is as a result of scientific research - something Africans rather not engage in. They rather marry more wives and build bigger houses and drive in big cars. The company that researched on the serum has been conducting trials on it for years (unlike you stupid Nigerians that just wake up one morning and spread rumours bitter kola cures Ebola without any scientific proof or lengthy period of testing) You should also note that the U.S govt due to the positive results coming out from this research has been inputting funds and resources into this pharmaceutical company to aid the research. They did not play politics with it like you Africans often do,or say that after all there has never been any case of Ebola in their country. So when Ebola hits and they test the first experimental serum on their citizens,you dumb Africans say Ebola is created by them to wipe out only Africans forgetting that success always meets preparation and you Africans are too selfish,stingy,tribalistic,and mystical to make any advancement in medical research.

The medicine you take for cold deals only with the symptoms...it doesn't clear the coronavirus that causes the common cold...because the virus is self limiting.

One of the causes of diarrhoea is a virus called Rotavirus. Again it is self limiting....we treat you with antibiotics so that we can prevent bacteria from taking advantage of the sufferer's weak body.

Another example Chickenpox.

And as for that ebola serum.....don't put your hopes in it. Research done in animals shows that the serum may delay the symptoms....but may not save the life of the patient. Research also shows that if your body's immune system responds a certain way to Ebola....you will survive the illness.

And BTW....how do you know that the viruses were man made? And you claim to be a Christian...yet you pass on an obvious lie( Especially as you obviously know nothing about viruses).

if Bacteria multiplies in the body it leads to sickness, so scientists study the bacteria and create counter-measures(anti-bodies/antibiotics) to deal with them....

since you claim to be a doctor... are you saying it is impossible for humans to create a bacteria.... cos as far as I know antibiotics are made from good bacteria (forgive me there should be a term but I have forgotten biology) to fight evil bacteria.

1.There is no vaccine against AIDS.
