Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Its Either You Are On First Class Or 2:1.... by godspeed: 8:59am On Oct 25, 2015*. Modified: 1:15pm On Oct 25, 2015 |
Tbliss12: Its so pathetic and demoralizing that we leave in a country where certificate is the most sort after by our indigenous firms and even foreign firms. I sat down after going through NYSC and My parents are already looking at me in 3D as regards what's next.
I submitted my spiral bind C.V but the Secretary of that firm quickly glanced through my details but was disappointed to see 2:2 (3.32 CGPA) which stated in it and told me straight-up that I shouldn't be expecting a call!! I was pissed off, do u mean 3.32 CGPA is a poor result? I just went out and up till now after 3month no call from them.
The question is where are we going in this country? Two(2) factors all companies display while placing recruitment adverts; Your Age (24yrs nd below) and supposed good grade (1st class or 2:1). Now tell me are graduates with 2:2 really that lazy while in school? The Answer is simply 'NO' so many factors are really involved, I've seen a brilliant guy in school who felt sick on the day of his set last papers which sucked his GP heavily.
If you've got your 1st class or 2:1 and you are gainfully employed in a cool company with good pay lucky you and I wish you all the best, for those still looking out for a good job the lord shall answer "OUR" prayers but doing something with your saved Allawee is not a bad idea anyway!!
Happy Weekend!!
Tbliss12 Wail on dear! It always delight my soul when I see people like u complain now. Reality has finally hit you hard in the face. I remember back in school days, you dare not be seen studying hard, people like you will subject such students to extreme ridicule that is hard to bear. You label studious students all kinds of vile names like effico, prof, igi iwe e.t.c to the extent that u won't even want to be seen on the way to the library. People like u always brag and console yourselves that grades don't matter but it's connections and who u know that will get u job, well u have one now. Now that u have seen that reality is not as simple as y'all made it look, no doubts if u look back , you'll wish u get a second opportunity to do what's right. This is also some kind of lesson to those in school now, help yourself by finishing among the best so that those you know will have an easy job helping u in the future. For now, op and your ilk can continue wailing while u let the people u have mocked to scorn in the past enjoy the fruits of their labour and have the last laugh. |

kalindaminda: That quote has nothing to do with this.
Once again: Not doing the WRONG thing Is not the same thing as doing the RIGHT thing.
Sigh. Let me break it down for you:
Not killing someone
Is not the same as
Saving someone's life.
Not stealing
Is not the same as
Finding and prosecuting a thief.
If you don't get it after this, I'm done. once again; u need no look further than the actions and utterances of ur president elect in 2011 if u really want to know why not doing the wrong thing is commendable |

kalindaminda: Sorry, doing the right thing and NOT doing the WRONG thing are NOT THE SAME.
Learn the differenceq. why don't u tell me? just told u that all the people celebrated by history today are people who didn't do the wrong thing. Take it or leave it, all those celebrated today are people who refused to do the wrong thing 'The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.' Edmund burke |

kalindaminda: Once again:
I repeat:
How does NOT doing the WRONG thing merit praise? Are Nigerians such savages that any glimpse of civility must be coddled and petted the way you're doing to GEJ? And you want the world to respect you.
There is a very typical Nigerian reaction to criticism, which is to find the nearest offender to compare with: "Is he the only one?"
You need to raise your standards if you ever want to progress.
This quote says much more than I ever could: if you want to know exactly 'how not doing the wrong thing merits praise' you need not look further than the actions and utterances of your president-elect when he lost the 2011 elections even after failing to achieve 25% of total votes in 24 states and failing to win in any southern state and middle belt save for niger. whether doing the right thing or not doing the wrong thing; it is highly commendable when somebody takes the right path even when taking the wrong options seems easier and obvious. Desperate politicians of time past would have invited the military to take over instead of handing over or conceding defeat. gej has set a precedent with this gesture which no doubt will become a reference point for years to come. and if you think not doing the wrong thing is no big deal ask parents why they pat their children and buy them gifts when they come top of their class or why corporations pay huge bonuses to their employees for meeting targets or why we even give awards of any kind to people for any ordinary or extra ordinary achievements. following your line of reason nobody should even be celebebrated since all- yes-all people celebrated by history are people who didn't do the wrong thing |

Romance › Re: Playing Hard To Get- The Pros And Cons? by godspeed: 4:22pm On Aug 02, 2014 |
IHate9ja1: it doesnt change how i see her, either how fast or long it takes. But its get to stage that i quit, there are many other better things to do with my time. Word. The truth is playing hard to get has nothing to do with you being cheap or not, it's just a facade put up by (ironically cheap) girls to hide the insecurity they feel inside. If you are cheap you are always going to be cheap playing hard to get will not make that go away. Think of all the tight girls you know, either in real life or those on the screen, if anyone of them should happen to approach you, will that make you see them as cheap even if you don't fancy them? I doubt. Being cheap has to do with your person and not how you play the game of love and like somebody already noted, most guys find it annoying. |
