So the southern African region are gradually getting their wish in diluting the west African football powers by restricting qualifiers to the regions.

This move not only dilutes the power of west African countries at junior levels, it also guarantees the southern region equal representation on the continent despite the fact that they are the weakest.

They also mooted this idea for the World Cup qualifiers at senior level.

Then why don't we just modify this so that it would work. Instead of restricting the website to computer village traders, why don't they make it accessible to everyone such that when you buy a new phone (from anywhere now) you can register the basic details together with ur name. In the event that ur phone is stolen, any potential buyer (be it in computer village or anywhere) can easily confirm the ownership by just checking on the site.

I don't see much risk in this beyond what we are already exposed to in truecaller.

In this fuel hoarding crises, ikorodu garage to cos is 400 naira o and multiple it with 14 people then even if there is hold up stand still, from 6.30am to 7.30pm he would have gone more than 10times o. PMB was never vilified, he was investigated by a presidential panel and at the end of the day was cleared, case closed.

This woman stayed in public office because of the pervasive lawlessness and corruption in Nigeria especially after so many probes and indictments.

in June 2008, she was probed by the Senate after it was revealed that as the transport minister, she had paid N30.9 billion naira ($263 million) to contractors between December 26 and 31, 2007, without following the due process.

The Nigeria senate indicted her back in 2009 when she was Transport minister and recommended prosecution for the alleged transfer of N1.2 billion into the private account of a toll company without due process and in breach of concession agreement. n 2012, the House of Representatives report into the management of petrol subsidy blamed the ex-minister for failing to stop dubious marketers from swindling the government to the tune of over N2 trillion.

All that aside, she shouldn't be making any reference to PMB because their issues are unrelated. She has a case to answer and she should answer her case without mixing tuwo with garri...

I have keenly followed this story since MTN was slammed with that gargantuan fine and the reactions of most Nigerians to it has left me bitterly disappointed. Like u rightly asked; why do we hate MTN this much?

We seem to have forgotten in a hurry the efforts former president obasanjo made to lure foreign investors to Nigeria during his first term. He was globe trotting and practically begging these investors to come to Nigeria.

Now we seem to have what we want and we are very comfortable to the extent that we have become very hostile to these same companies we begged to come here.

When did we suddenly get this feeling of entitlement? Imagine people saying that 'most of this foreign coys were willfully taking Nigeria for a ride because no one had in the past demonstrated the political will to protect the interest of Nigeria'(kx above). Let me ask you; where were we before MTN came in? And how do our own companies treat us?

We seem to have forgotten the days of NITEL in a hurry. Tell me what kind of services were we enjoying then? What could we or did we do to them? How much did NCC ever fine NITEL then for poor services or for being in violation? When exactly did we start getting this feeling of entitlement?

If we are talking about companies taking Nigerians for a ride, tell me which company does that more than our very own PHCN or whatever they are called now. Tomorrow if a foreign firm buys PHCN and we have power cut for just 1 hour I we'll begin to castigate them.

I will not join the debate whether MTN needs Nigeria more than Nigeria needs her. But every responsible country of the world always do whatever is within their power to ensure that corporate organizations thrive. These companies create the wealth of nations.

The fine on MTN is ridiculous, even if MTN is in violation and are supposed to be fined,NCC should have put a cap on the fine to be paid and not an impossible amount that will practically put MTN out of business.

To put the fine in perspective, 1 trillion is one quarter of our current budget, it's more than the budget of some 20 states in Nigeria put together and its more than double the annual turnover of MTN Nigeria.

I'm seeing a pattern here:

Mexico won the tournament in 2005 and Nigeria won the next tournament (in Asia) and defended thru to the final the following tournament(losing to Switzerland who won a FIFA tournament for the first time).

Then, Mexico won the tournament again in 2011 with Nigeria winning the following edition ( again in Asia) and have now defended again to the final(facing Mali who could win a first FIFA tournament).

Nigeria also have never won this tournament outside Asia.

I pray all these count for nothing on Sunday particularly since we have never lost to an African side at this tournament before and won the very first edition with the current President at the helms then.
