I think the author of the above article gother it wrong. She only express her views on nursing practice in Nigeria. Nigeria nurses are rated very well in diaspora. I practice as a nurse in the UK and well respected in my unit .I had my training in Nigeria before I moved to South Africa and to the UK. The training we received during my time was not the way it was described above. It was evidence based practice. Care plan on patients is always up to date from the day the patient is admmitted till discharged from the hospital. Regarding quaker in nursing ,it is desame all over the world due to shortages of qualified nurses all over the world. In UK here , we referee them as care assistant and they give them limited role to perform in delivering health care to people. The problem in Nigeria is that government need to regulate and incorporates them fully into health care team so that they will understand their limitations.
