Many of these stories were real, many were myth and some were imaginations. The manuscripts Codex Vaticanus and Sinaiticus were later transferred to books which you called Bible. The romans took the manuscript they are interested in and the leaders used it for their purpose as Catholicism, the British took theirs and used it for their purpose, Arabs took the books interested to them and transferred it to Quran. The common factor to these people mentioned is the establishment of empire and slave trade.
This is similar to the manuscript of Ifa transferred to books by the Yoruba. The only difference is that Yoruba are not sophisticated enough to force the ifa books on people outside their empire claiming it’s from God, killing and maiming anyone who doesn’t believe it.
