Damn it!! Pedro Neto!!! A goal worthy of getting your team back and riding that momentum to potential victory.

Chelsea: *Nico Jackson is our CF* but Neto to the rescue.

Arsenal: *No true striker*

Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal.

What a strike.
Two Strikerless clubs fooling themselves. 😜

If madam president had won, I would have celebrated her too. That would’ve been 1 more story for me to tell my daughter.
Unfortunately , it appears the Trump guy only beats women, but not men (Hilary in 2016 & Kamala in 2024) . The conspiracy theorist in me thinks even the (probably senile) ‘sleepy joe’ at the head of the ticket would’ve beaten the Donald.

Any way, we Move.

Spain will soon become all black just like France. If this trend continues all European teams will eventually become black except perhaps countries like Russia and Eastern Europe and Scandinavian countries.

Then the unique national or ethnic quality that distinguishes these nations and adds spice to footballing tournaments will be lost.

One or two or even three, four is fine but you see teams like France, I don't see them as French. My view sha.
The question is what is making them go for these black kids sef

Both ladies are doing very well politically.

Suella is still an MP, she survived the last GE when so many of her colleagues lost their seats. Could be a future leadership contender.

Priti was honoured with a damehood and is now the shadow Foreign Secretary.
It remains to be seen especially when kemi is now their leader.

If you were Asian, you would probably feel very strongly about politicians such as Suella and Priti.

Suella is on record as Home Sec as saying that she had reservations about the then proposed Britain’s trade deal with India because it could increase immigration to the UK. She of Indian origin herself. Braverman also said that Indian migrants made up the largest number of visa overstayers in the UK. I'm sure the Indians loved her lol. She also made inflammatory comments about Pakistanis in the UK, claiming that UK child grooming gangs were "almost all British-Pakistani men"

In 2022, over 150 Sikh organizations came together to demand the then Home Sec Priti Patel be sacked for her anti-Sikh rhetoric and activities. Priti is of Indian origin, Sikhs are an Indian religious minority. Priti also signed a deal with India to increase the number of UK illegal migrants and overstayers returned to the country.

I rather think that the Asians would prefer our Kemi over their Suella and Priti 😂

The North Carolina gov candidate, Mark Robinson, lost ,despite heavy Trump backing, because he was found to have made several lewd and inflammatory comments on a p**n site years ago.
And where is suella and co today including their boss sunak. They are all gone due to irresponsible and irrelevant messaging. It’s up to kemi to do whatever she likes.

Genuinely curious which black American politicians you are referring to here lol.

I'm not an advocate of politics of division and I agree with the circumspect and diplomatic approach that you referenced. But does that mean that she cannot air her views or give a candid response when asked? Because she is of Nigerian origin, is she expected to only say nice things about Nigeria when there is a myriad of problems that are glaringly obvious?

I think her delivery can be improved but unless the content is untrue, she shouldn't draw such ire.
India, Pakistan and other Asian nations has a lot of problems in fact they are the number 1 japa proponents but politicians of Asian origins in the diaspora hardly remind anyone of the huge challenges there or is it that they are not aware? Self righteousness is the issue here. Delivery is not the only thing kemi should improve on, she should just learn to focus on more relevant messages rather on things she herself has no interest or solutions o.

In North Carolina the republican governorship candidate a man of colour lost, why? His past on irrelevant messaging caught up with him. The same time the Republican Party won the presidential vote there. Same state different outcomes due to approach.

But how will Nigerians mocking her on Twitter affect her quality of life in North London as a former Tory leader?

They've trolled her already and would have mocked her mercilessly if she had lost the race, but that didn't seem to faze her.
Is this kind of thinking that’s making black politicians even in America to look stupid, the I don’t care attitude of whatever my people think

But don’t you think it’s an opportunity for her to grow up? Is it not time for politicians of colour in privileged places to be more circumspect and diplomatic in their approach to issues in the polity? I have actually heard from Africans in her constituency of the nice things she did for them, is that not enough for her act more wisely and win more people she thinks don’t like her?. Politics is a game of numbers, the more numbers you have the better, reason why more crooked politicians look more intelligent cos they win more folks to boost their numbers

It will always amaze me how people look at this person and see anything but a grifter who will say anything she needs to and throw anyone under the bus that she can to advance herself.
Honestly am beginning to feel for her if the torries dump her in the long run, the way Nigerians will mock her with our huge social media presence it won’t be funny.

Nigeria may be a shithole to some but it’s still the largest black nation on earth. If you’re a person of colour no matter how high you rise, you need to pay attention and be more sensitive.

That's because you are not an exporter. WTO is concerned with trades. NOI worked to see that Nigerian agricultural exports to the west improved.

Before now, they were rejecting many farm produce and other things that Nigerian exporters ship to America and Europe. The rejection rate was high. This is a source of foreign exchange/currency to Nigeria.

When she came in, she started enlightening the exporters to meet the necessary standard and influence the foreign agencies that reject Nigeria's exports to give our exporters a soft landing to ship their products into their countries.

She made it clear that WTO does not have money to share, so we don't expect her to start throwing money about like a politician.

Found this hilarious.
Trump has absolutely no interest in Nigeria. The days when Bush and Clinton stopped by to say hello are long gone.
One major reason Obama was hated by many Nigerians. Dude also went to Ghana that year and was throwing stones to naija with his speech. Finally messed up with the weapons sales block to deal with boko haram.

Unless Nigeria is ready to flock her market with made in US goods and farm products maybe Oga Trump fit look naija side small.

Putin is now in the ascendance, is this good for Nigeria? I know we signed up to that BRICS thing. Will it save the Nigerian economy? And at what cost?

How should Nigeria play this?
*musing*
Okonjo Iweala that’s looking for second term as WTO chair may be blocked by Trump, remember he blocked her the other time to emerge but fortune smiled on her as Trump was already on his way out in 2020. It will be interesting to see if madam will be able to scale through this time around unless she nicks it before Trump is sworn in.

Trump is also looking likely to win the popular vote- the first Republican since Bush in 2004; including control of the Senate and possibly the House as well.

Wow - that is an emphatic victory and a historic win. The polls were so out.

Congratulations to Trump. I hope he governs right, especially on the world stage.

Well done to Kamala, she fought a good race.

Starmer and others are already congratulating Trump. I'm grateful we have a Labour govt to protect our NHS (hopefully!) - last Trump presidency he was really eyeing it up when things were still up in the air post Brexit.
Don’t worry we will tell uncle Farage to remind Trump about the NHS, it’s about time. 😜. This goodness must go round o, we must enjoy what they are enjoying in the US. We can’t be left out.

There's a cap on domestic tuition fees but not on international fees so universities are free to increase international fees as much as they like

The domestic fee cap will rise in line with inflation which makes sense - it should be a limited increase and spread over the next few years, unlike the massive increase in 2012. Hopefully they'll bring back grants for low income families.

Statement on Higher Education due this afternoon.
Yea, expectedly. Inflationary impact. As for grants? hmm 🤔

She was always the favourite. Alot of recent events including Rishi's premiership helped pave the way. Takes nothing from her brilliance, eloquence and carriage but she sure did pander to her core demography. Now, she has arrived, I hope her premiership is not characterised by talking down on Nigerians cos her own party wouldn't waste time to devour her if the opportunity presents.

As said earlier, the dilema with trailblazers like her is that she could very well be a mouth piece for the most vile cohort of the thier party. She could say things that even Farage would struggle with voicing and people would find it hard to criticise her as she's 'black and immigrant'. I saw her dress down an MP from NI speaking against the narrative around migrants and theblady was in shock. She was not expecting it.
The NI lady shouldn’t be shocked if she understands politicking na. The result is where kemi is today.

@Goke7

I kid you nor
This kind of discussion will not even be a discussion among Indian/Pakistanis people

A lot of black people just have internalised issues they are yet to resolve

So lemme narrate a story for you

Chris Kaba was a delinquent (we accept) and a police man wrongfully shot and killed him in an incident (ill say you research more on the case )
recently the police man who shot him was cleared of any wrong doing, and the Mets are asking for more immunity

Black folks were busy rationalising why this should be the case forgetting that to these guys, it does not matter your status, you will be manhandled if the govt gives the met more powers

my paki friend told me point blank that if it was a Pakistani killed in such a circumstance, that this country will catch fire, and I have seen it play out a few times during my stay in the UK

White people and even the police know better than to mistreat, harass or do anyhow with these south Asians
because they know that they don't accept or take nonsense, and they will burn down this country if dem try them

as those mumu blacks were yapping, quote far right goats were liking and agreeing with them ooo

Now Tommy Robinson days later was convicted of a crime he pled guilty of (after grifting off his supporters) and was sentenced to jail
The same White folks that were saying goof for Kaba, were crying all over saying its not fair
Rationalising why Tommy Robinson should not be punished

there is a White health worker that killed babies here
people are advocating for a soft landing for her despite the heinous thing that she did
Will such be extended to a black person ?

Again, black people I keep saying do not understand the world that they live in
Coonery has eaten deep into the bone and its almost at the point of no return

Again, thanks to (many) Pakistani revolts, minorities can be and live in peace
Assuming it's blacks that were the "majority minority " here, with the exception of the Windrush generation, na so them do dey reason say e good for them and will not fight back

afterall our country is a shytehole and thus we should be treated second classy, according to folks like IbeOkehie
that's the problem, the deep suffering the black race has been subjected to is the reason they easily submit themselves to more oppression and it starts back home with how they have been mishandled by despots who called themselves leaders or politicians so when they found themselves in the West with the privileges they now enjoy, they think they don't merit it that much despite working all manner of shifts and hours. That's why you see them keep supporting Trump who has called them all sorts of names cos to them Trump is just re-echoing what they are used to being called back in Africa. They also think that having more money or wealth is the way out when in reality being rich doesn't insultate you from contempt or oppression. It's a pity and it's a mental health problem that needs a cure. Those who are cured see things differently.
