Dangote came into a business he had never been involved in with his own template from his cement business .. use government connections to muscle others out and be the all in all .....why did he reckon he was going to he both producer , distributor and retailer ?

What does he expect others to do with their facilities when he added gantry for trucks loading?

So all trucks in Nigeria should come to his lekki based depot for product or what ?

These guys wanted to patronised him ..they paid for his AGO which is substandard way and above the price he was selling to international buyers ..for each ton he was charging 50 dollar more than he was charging outsiders and somebody's says he is a good man that loves his country ...calculate and convert 15000 metric ton by 50 dollar and see the difference he is taking off vessels that comes to load from his facility
@ the bolded, no serious country will allow this.

This woman should go and apply to be foreign minister and stop this foolishness. It's shameful when you see people dying to go to UK even pastors don't want to go to heaven they rather go to the UK. They will pray for Visa ignore heaven.
Our country can be like UK if we can get rid of people like this woman.

Someday you realize that on this very matter he was a saviour.

NNPC possibly reevaluated the refinery and discovered that it was overpriced at 20 billion dollars...... We have a list of world largest refineries, how much did it cost to construct those larger than his own?

So they decided that the government that ordered the purchase without due diligence have left office and Wale Tinubu had become co-owner of NNPC by reason of NNPC acquisition of his company, so it was time to take real business decisions not driven by primordial interest
grin That means Dangote was positioning this refinery to become the new subsidy collector

So many toxic people on this forum. Just because you can't benefit some something, you condemn it. The students receiving the 20k did not complain. School fees are taken care of. Extra 20k on top, their parents or legal guardians can easily add foodstuffs or something to support them. We need to remove hatred from our hearts. Some of the persons accusing Tinubu left and right are more evil than the devil. Some can't even manage their day-to-day life properly but think they are experts.
You Dey mind them? Tomorrow they will be asking what the FG has done to help the masses.

Honestly most Nigerians don’t understand what development is all about. Na only rice and garri dem sabi. Bunch of illiterates who claim they went to school

You really believe only 20k students applied out of about 2million students?

Read and stop making empty conjectures https://www.vanguardngr.com/2024/06/student-loan-successful-applicants-to-get-approvals-in-three-weeks-fg/
so those who got it didn't apply? Or what are you saying? will there not be criteria and requirements for approval to be given? If you don't understand the criteria then that's another conversation, you don't believe in it so what's the fuss

If your head is woven around politics that is your business. I'm speaking my mind how I see it.

I have not said anyone should not take it if they are interested. Besides, Nigeria has over 2million students in universities alone and the beneficiaries are just 20k. How those were selected I don't know but it is obvious majority students don't believe in the scheme
it's those who apply that got it, let those who believe apply and those who don't believe stay away for their sanity and sanity of the society.

The stress is that the loan is not worth it. It is basically for students who can't afford the fees right? Well, how does it make sense that you are giving them money that will not see them through the school and at the same time, expect them to pay back?
that's fine, allow those who want it to apply and those who don't want can stay away

How can the government agency do their checks when they are the ones cheating the process? Did you think I was referring to the masses? And no, in most countries, public servants are not rogue, and are often held accountable for maladministration. So, don't try to justify nonsense.
so how come JAMB is doing well? or are they not a govt agency?

Are you aware it's a loan that's to be paid back? You make it sound as if they are giving them free money. What's the point of a loan that can't meet your expenses and you might need to borrow more.
Look at all those alerts, most of them had less than 1k before the 20k entered.
I hope you know it's not by force to apply for the loan too. Many have refused to apply so what's the stress

Please, say something else. They do workers verification more often than not, but there are still thousands of ghost workers literred across ministries. These people always find a way to cheat the process.
people cheat systems and processes all over the world so it's no big deal, it's up to the govt agency involved to do their checks and balances like JAMB that can now easily detect fake JAMB results.

That's what I'm trying to let him know that whatever Tinubu is trying to achieve with this 20k payment is so small compared to the damage he has done, that the effort is looking almost insignificant.

In 2005 when I was in Unilag with my younger brother, if I'm sent 20k the money could last almost a month for the both of us taking care of all our needs, in fact the first time I was sent 30k it was almost like 300k value in my account, I was actually feeding a friend who was broke at the time for weeks from the same money after sharing with my brother grin...

I'm not putting all the blame on Tinubu but he further compounded it in just less than a year...

I'm not saying 20k is too small or too big but I can tell you 20k in present day Nigeria isn't what it used to be in value before Tinubu came onboard...
You're right and I think this is very good feedback, perhaps going forward the 20k can be increased to cope with the present-day realities.

funny enough the president never asked anyone to pity him, remember in his own words he said he was ready to shoulder both assets and liabilities. I think many people for biased reasons don't listen to him too carefully.

Are they not doing BVN and NIN verification any more?

Please stop responding to sadists. Nothing you say or show they won't find fault with.

Their hatred for Tinubu, an extension of their hatred for Yorubas, is irredeemable. Meaning they will alway attack any of his good initiatives you bring here.

They are nasty trolls so don't feed them.
if you don't respond you'll allow them to form another narrative, already someone is saying it's a waste of public funds for money going directly to beneficiaries, I admit the govt itself has not done enough sensitizing the public about this as many even think it's a scam as usual. I learned many medical students at a university can't benefit now as they refused to apply.

Unfortunately, what can 20k do for the students in a month? Indomie alone is 15k per carton now. Won't the student transport himself to school? What about other needs of the student? This is more like blowing air into the eyes of a blind man. It makes no difference!!
so the govt should take the entire responsibility for feeding, transport, and everything, haba. We are ven talking about university students not primary or secondary sch pupils o

20k can't even feed a student well for 2weeks, you've lost the value of 20k in Nigeria since you don't even stay in Nigeria, I believe same thing with Tinubu and his advisers because of how far they are from the people while in governance...

Like when Ngige said 19k can take care of a family of 4 for a full month...

20k can't even buy you 3 paints of beans...
it's to supplement the student expenses or do you expect the govt to feed the students for the entire month?

It's when the government start collecting the loan back, that's when you people will understand the difference between 6 and half a doxen
it's best international practice everywhere for govt to take back the loan once the beneficiaries start working which is after two years I learned in this case. That's a win-win for everybody.

The lesson is that Nigerians should borrow themselves brain, whenever anyone calls for protests as all manner of agendas will unfold. Hope we learn but will we?
