And almost catching up with Yekini's record He score abi e no score yesterday? Brace o in case you forgot cos it’s only the tantrums most people saw! |

TheSuperNerd: He needs 3 to equal Yekini.
4 to break it and set a new record. And we say make our man no vex for pitch 😂 that game yesterday was an opportunity to equal that record. It had 6 or 7-0 written all over it. It can’t get easier than that |

Mujtahida: On this forum, me and charlesemeka85 were steadfast in defending Iwobi.
For me, it was because I watched him during Rohr and saw his offensive contributions.
When he was moved deeper and saddled with defensive responsibilities, his game contribution suffered and he was often made the butt of the fans' ire.
I'm so happy for him. He's a great servant of the SE and if it will not be too much, it is for his sake that I pray we win this AFCON. The amazing thing is that he’s still playing from the very same position he was last Afcon but now offering more offensively and dictating the tempo of the game at intervals na dat one sweet me pass. Nothing that guy can do wrong again in my eyes. |

BankyGee: Na when I hear the audio I understand everything wey sup... Lookman shouldn't have said that too. That kind statement fit cause unnecessary rift like say them dey compete. Make we just assume say everything don calm now cos most times we judge carelessly without considering things from every angle and just only one single player go pack every other person shit. |

BankyGee: He said it. Watch that video I posted and listen again.
Osimhen: Hey, hey, it's a team game, listen to me bro.
Lookman: You have two goals already, you've got two goals bro. That’s the height of irresponsibility and indiscipline na wa o! things Dey happen 😂 I just don’t want to believe he Dey drag highest goal scorer without common sense. And like you said if he had kept things simple both players would have use the match yesterday to become highest scorers in the competition by now than Brahim Diaz. So unfortunate |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Goke7: 3:34pm On Jan 06 |
BankyGee: God bless you. No be Osimhen score 4 and gave 2 assists the dey we beat São Tomé 10–0? Lookman too scored 2 and had 2 assists in that game I think, Moses Simon, 1 goal one assist. Osimhen won a PK and gave Dennis to score for 10–0.
If Osimhen plays for the team why can't the RBs and midfielders or wingers do same? For big chances created Osimhen has 3 as a CF in this tournament and 6 chances created. Isn't that showing that he's a team player as a centre-forward?
Our style of football now allows for few and fast forward movements that will mostly end up to the CF many times, but instead of that one touch pass to your CF in the box you'll start doing dribbles that you didn't do in the entire buildup to that position.
It's painful. Osimhen made like 3 intelligent runs and was clearly open simple passes which didn't come all those times before the outburst. It was a case of holding back the anger since.
Lookman was saying you already have 2 goals... So because he's on two, he's banned from scoring more or what? Lookman would've had 2 goals and 4 assists yesterday if he kept everything simple and moving fast as it should be.
Chelle will sort it out tho. Osimhen overreacted, but it wasn't because he just wanted to overreact. He wants the team to play at the highest level, and it can only work if they play as a team, not counting each others goals and saying e don do like that. If Lookman truly said this then it’s most unfortunate and someone here was almost skinning me alive because I dare talked about Lookman! Phew |

zuchyblink: No matter how this AFCON ends, the NFF must hold Chelle tight.
What I am seeing from the Super Eagles is maturity. Calm football, clear ideas, no unnecessary showboating. Just purpose. Direct passes, compact shape, intelligent pressing and discipline on and off the ball.
This is not playground football. This is structured, modern, European-style football, adapted wisely to our strengths. Players know their roles. They conserve energy. They suffer when needed and strike when the moment is right.
For once, Nigeria looks like a team with a plan, not just talent.
Progress is visible. Stability now matters more than knee-jerk reactions. Football development is not magic, it is patience, trust and continuity.
Hold Chelle. Let the work grow. Let the team breathe. 🇳🇬⚽ If Chelle say make una increase im salary nko? make una reason am well o |

TheGoodJoe: You first have to say that all the time Osimhen was in space, the ball was gotten to him. If you can't concur, you have your answer.
Deviating from the system is seeking personal glory and not the team's glory.
Finito. It's because the team is scoring goals aplenty that's why many are not bothered now. By the time we start getting more desperate for goals, and they are not coming like now, then people will appreciate your points better, but for now, the sentiments of after all we were leading by 3-0 will cloud many reasoning now, unfortunately. |

Mujtahida: The most painful is apology because you have to humble yourself to apologize. He should apologize for his conduct.
Come to think of it, it's high time Osimhen dropped this attitude. Because he doesn't do it at the clubs he's played for.
Secondly, it's become a pattern, this his raving and throwing up tantrums. He did it in the match against Zimbabwe, he's done it in other matches too. And you think an apology is difficult for a player like Osihmen? unless it's another kind of apology that will be published in the national dailies |

Mujtahida: You have completely missed the point. Like Kog45 said, it's a disciplinary issue. We have been hammering on Nwabali. This is Victor's. To turn a blind eye to it is to allow chaos to thrive and sabotage the team.
I hope you know that Osimhen is the vice captain. He has to set an example not be the instigator of chaos and conflict.
Lookman or whoever does not pass the ball to you? You talk to him during training not cause in game disruption. This has nothing to do with his footballing abilities because you kept making it sound like he should be excused because he's our star player.
Star players too must be disciplined. No excuses. No exceptions Agreed so what’s the discipline, fines, apology, ban or what? |

Kog45: Osimhen with 3 goals so far feels betrayed, hurt and sabotaged, hmm it's well o...eagles so far with 12 goals in 4 matches but we're not satisfied Is it not team work too to ensure the highest scorer in the competition or your country is from your team or generation? Is it not a thing of pride for any team player? The Brazilian team in 2002 World Cup ensured that Ronaldo da Lima surpassed Pele goal record for Brazil in the World Cup. They were intentional about it and achieved it. |

TheGoodJoe: I agree that Osimhen comes out as arrogant. However, I don't see arrogance but fire for perfection. Osimhen is a player ready to run into the fire for his team and he wants that for everyone. The optics does not look good but if you understand that this is the fuel that drives him to keep performing at a high level, you will take it with a spoon full of sugar. Players like VO comes once in a generation and when he’s done or retired it will take donkey years to see another Nigerian striker like him. We’ve not produced a striker like him since Yekini. I just laugh at those condemning all about him. Has Uruguay produced another striker like the ear biting Suarez?. When you have such players you focus more on what they deliver to you and manage their excesses that’s best practice all over. Vinicius is another character did he not produce all the goods for Real Madrid? Gattuso was a mad man per excellence did Italy not win the World Cup with him? We Africans especially Nigerians are always looking for unnecessary perfection from people which doesn’t exist anywhere and that’s why we keep underperforming. Am beginning to like Eric Chelle more no matter what you say about his players he sticks with them no matter what as far as they deliver. If it’s a Nigerian coach players like Nwabali would have been removed to please self righteous Nigerians. He’s bringing that westerner mentality where you focus on what’s being delivered instead of looking for moral perfection and he said it in his interview with Segun Odegbami he’s looking for warriors on the pitch not gentlemen 😂 he himself na werey wey wan slap that Congolese in that wcq play offs! |

TheGoodJoe: Osimhen feels betrayed and hurt by people he considers brothers. Chelle needs to get slides and let them understand Osimhen scoring in line with the tactics is a team goal.
The players must change their attitude. We are still a long way to go. Let us not ruin a good position. God bless you sir, 😂 honestly we should be focusing on the next game and just continue from the form of yesterday. Let the coaches sort out the dressing or the locker room. If Chelle can manage this even if we don’t win the trophy I advocate for him to continue but let’s be reminded if he asked for a raise in salary hope we won’t bottle it again like we did with jpes and begin to say we have Nigerian coaches that can do better. We are an arrogant people o |

Icon4s: At that point when Lookman was in the best position to lay the pass, Osimhen was slightly off side. Knowing Osimhen's history of off sides, Lookman was probably not sure of if Osimhen was on side or not and so he rather ignored Osimhen.
Osimhen really needs to learn how to time his runs. And for his actions on the pitch for me it is distracting. He really needs to learn to keep his calm. This excuse no enter abeg. Let every single player be responsible for their own shit! |

And lookman too should also be spoken to to not allow what happened on the pitch affect him to the point he becomes indecisive when playing. He should play the way he knows how to play and not be pressured into doing what he cannot do. Thank you na you get sense pass here unlike the many hypocrites here! |

NasirIbnLaAhad: As always, Nigerians are too thick to see how self-destructive they are. This is how the players foolishly chose to boycott training right before the most important game we played in 2025. We just bamboozled a strong Mozambique side and journalists on the social media space are stupidly fanning the embers of discord and disunity within the team, picking sides and bashing Osimhen or Lookman. Why are we cursed in this country? Why do we have to air our dirty laundry out in public and ruin things for ourselves? I just hope Osimhen and Lookman can put all this aside and avoid social media because the fans and journalists are making this whole fiasco ten times worse with foolish statements and suggestions, questioning Osimhen's contributions or implying that certain players are not needed in the team. Nigerians I pour spit for una!
Look at what Nigerians below are saying! I agree totally with you this time! Just like the bonus row at the play offs the eagles won’t surely survive this and if they do that will be magical. It’s been a curse for decades in the team. We are too divisive as a people and we no get cure |
